Arda's time has drawn to an end, as all good things must. Remember it with fondness, and may it rest in peace.

Goodbye, everyone, I loved you all and Arda very dearly.

Former members may still log in and view all the old posts (now showing all posts, not just in-character and profiles), but the board is unavailable to new registrants and officially read-only. The CBox is still functional and many people still stop by to say hello.

This site's host, InvisionFree (zIFBoards), is transferring all the boards they host to their updated platform known as ZetaBoards as of an announcement on 7/17/2017. Arda has been converted as of January 2018. You can expect to see some visual changes when you visit, but all data (posts, accounts, forums, etc) remains intact.

Additionally, Photobucket stopped allowing hotlinking from its free accounts in 2017 so many images are currently "missing."
All files are still safely stored and awaiting transfer to a better hosting solution. You can read here for more info.

Per an additional announcement on 5/7/18, this board is being converted a second time, this time to TapaTalk from ZetaBoards. Details pending further information.

Temple of Chaos

Regular Forum The Beast Pens
On the eastern side of the fortress is an open, grassy area. Several caretakers tend to the many animal cages and pens that line the wide lanes. The Beast Pens serve to contain as many animals as possible in the smallest area, so this benefit is provided while sacrificing the creatures' comfort. Occasionally, animal storage and retailing is provided for guests to the temple. Large animals, like Ancient Cerberi and dragons, are not housed in the pens, but outside the fortress walls on large chains anchored deep into the ground.

Regular Forum Desolated Ruins
Three miles west of the new fortress of Ita lies the broken and battered ruins of the Goddess of Chaos' former temple. Each brick, due to the massive explosion that tore apart the old building, has been very spread out. This means the ruins are a great barren field spanning a mile or so in all directions. Shattered marble bricks and the half-buried skeletons of humans and animals alike greet all who choose to venture into the ruins.

Regular Forum Kemensereg Arena
A great arena built many centuries ago by an early civilization was later restored by Ita for her own personal use. Hundreds at a time may gather to witness the mindless slaughtering performed here solely for entertainment value. Heavily armored fighters, slaves being devoured by wild animals, beasts unleashed into the ring in the middle of a duel between two gladiators, and other events take place here.

Regular Forum Shrine of War
Not far away from the Temple of Chaos lies the Shrine of War. Surrounded by the ruins of an ancient tribal city lies a small arena dedicated to Dengar. It is covered in wildlife and everything inside seems to have some kind of jungle plant attached to it. The air is hot and humid and the ground is littered with various tropical bugs. The arena itself is modest in size and has many paintings and sketches of Dengar etched into the walls. There are several elegantly crafted statues of the Lizarian, all of them slightly exaggerating his size and strength. There is a small cage made of bamboo rods in the corner which was previously used for sacrificing unfortunate humans to the monster, but it’s now used for storing his next meal. The center piece in the arena is a magnificent fountain of blood, which is ever moving and bubbling. It holds a drop of blood from everyone who has ever died in a war, and it is rumored to warp the physical and mental aspects of those who drink it.

Regular Forum Central Tower
The great central tower of Ita's fortress contains several floors, the ground level being the largest among them (which is specifically designed for the admission of visitors). From there a great spiraling staircase winds up the length of the tower, moving to such rooms as living quarters, shrines, sacrificial rooms, torture chambers, and dungeons. A swirling beam of light is emitted into the heavens from a circular hole formed at the building's very top.

Regular Forum Hall of Destruction
At the top of the central tower is the main home of the Goddess of Chaos. Lining the outer edges of the circular room are trophies, artifacts, and other tools of war kept on display. The head of the Hall of Destruction is tipped with a red carpet leading up to Ita's throne, forged of gold and draped with valuable cloth and decorations. A wide window is built into the opposite wall, providing a great vantage point over the Nandgirith Valley. The center of the room contains The Seldarine Board, nailed into the floor to prevent theft, constantly under observance when the Goddess is present.
