ZetaBoards - Free Forum Hosting
Arda's time has drawn to an end, as all good things must. Remember it with fondness, and may it rest in peace.

Goodbye, everyone, I loved you all and Arda very dearly.

Former members may still log in and view all the old posts (now showing all posts, not just in-character and profiles), but the board is unavailable to new registrants and officially read-only. The CBox is still functional and many people still stop by to say hello.

This site's host, InvisionFree (zIFBoards), is transferring all the boards they host to their updated platform known as ZetaBoards as of an announcement on 7/17/2017. Arda has been converted as of January 2018. You can expect to see some visual changes when you visit, but all data (posts, accounts, forums, etc) remains intact.

Additionally, Photobucket stopped allowing hotlinking from its free accounts in 2017 so many images are currently "missing."
All files are still safely stored and awaiting transfer to a better hosting solution. You can read here for more info.

Per an additional announcement on 5/7/18, this board is being converted a second time, this time to TapaTalk from ZetaBoards. Details pending further information.

Temple of Light

Regular Forum The Forever Faith
The Forever Faith is a room designed for those touched by the hands of the God, and its entrance at the center of the Welcoming Hall. Large red drapes decorate its outside entrance, drawing attention to its significance. It is a room where people enter, one by one, to seek council from the God of Light or to ask questions, find help, and the like. Many fear to enter it, being humble, for they know its an honour to enter, even though anyone could whenever they please. It is more a silent rule whispered amongst the people, most of whom worship or find council in the Welcoming Room or at the many alters or with one of the Preists or Preistesses.

Regular Forum Shrine of the Moon
Inside a pair of oak doors with intricate engravings and crescent moon handles is the shrine of the moon. Inside, the first thing that catches the eye is the altar in the center. Made completely of moonstone and intricately crafted, the altar is topped by a set of two candles that burn with a cold white flame and a sculpture of a crescent moon that radiates its own white light. Along the edges of the room, strange glowing trees are seen, devoid of leaves and casting strange shadows across the shrine. Between the trees grow lilies that also glow faintly. The ground is a strange black stone that seems to amplify the footsteps of any who walk within the shrine. The sound of a man singing can be faintly heard within the shrine, for Roleun likes to sing to the moon, which can be seen overhead through an enchanted glass ceiling.

Regular Forum Shrine of Stars
Situated behind the brilliant Temple of Light is an area of stark contrast. An eerie building constructed of the purest black marble, the Shrine of Stars stands as a dark reminder to all who visit the Temple that the brightest light can cast the darkest shadow. Accessible via a stone staircase leading up to two great doors cast from mithril and engraved with symbols representing the various stars and celestial bodies.

Inside is a world without light except that which is cast by the glowing orbs that float hauntingly around the room; each one a perfect representation of the stars that will be visible during the coming night. Far above, carved into the cathedral-like ceiling, are millions upon millions of tiny runes that glow and move with a negative light that hurts the eyes of all mortals who gaze upon them. Each rune is the Ainur name of a star that is currently alive within the universe and as one star dies, its rune fades only to be replaced by another in an eternal cycle.

But within this dark void of a room sits the throne of the Star Guardian; a dais that seems to radiate power and above all, hope. It is rare to find the guardian here during the day but he is often present during the night. Situated behind the throne beneath dark arches are doorways leading to the Guardian’s personal chambers; his library of the stars and his training room.

Regular Forum Training Corridor
Off a door from the welcoming hall stands the training corridor. Many rooms branch from its extensive path, leading into rooms full of training equipment, dummies, instructors and their quarters. The walls of the corridor shie a summer blue like a clear day and gold etched into it like little signs of sunlight. Clear, glass covered torches light the hall setting warm shadows upon the wall.

Regular Forum Welcoming Hall
The inner walls of the hall change with the time of day, just like the outter walls, though they always seem to glow with a divine essence. At the opposite end of the hall stands a staircase leading to the Master's Quarters, which is made from tiny collected stars. There are doors leading to the other rooms of the temple on either side of the staircase. Gold plates covored the floor, ommitting a gentle tap with each footstep. Inscence from praying villagers nearby looms in the air.

Regular Forum Ball Room
Being a home as well as a temple, there is a magnificent room set up for feasts and rooms for the guests of the god. Bright colors drape the walls and long tables awaiting food lined them. The sun seems to stream in from imaginary windows and small domes filled with stars hang from the center of the ceiling. It is very large

Regular Forum Shrine of the Sun
To the north of the temple of light stands a peculiar building dedicated to the sun and its guardian, Sartana Misirlou. It has the appearance of a small gothic-style cathedral; four small spires point towards the sky with curved flying buttresses touching the building just before its crenelated roof, hanging above stained glass windows prominent on all of the shrine's sandstone sides. The roof is dome-shaped, made entirely of wavy, yellow-hued glass plates, held together by an ornate gold-plated frame. This frame can be adjusted to lift the window pieces and let additional fresh air in.

The building's entrance faces the west, towards the setting sun, and its largest ground-level stained glass window faces the east, towards the rising sun. The first floor consists of four rooms; a waiting and prayer room at the entrance, with sandstone walls, an alter at the center, and comfortable red chairs along the walls, with a door at the far end that leads to a hallway. At the end of this is a spiral staircase that leads to Sartana's quarters. Two doors on the sides of the hallway lead to a small indoor hot spring and a guest room.

The upstairs is a large, circular room lined at the sides with book cases. There's a large fireplace at one end with a table and chair beside it, the chair looking quite cushy and comfortable, and the table usually scattered with tomes, notes, and artifacts. An ornate rug covers the floor. The entire room has a surreal look to it, especially in the daytime, as the sun hits the glass of the dome at varying thicknesses, giving the room differing layers of light and dark. It's quite beautiful.

Regular Forum The Goddess' Chambers
Between the Shrine of the Moon and the Shrine of the Stars rises a flight of stairs which leads up to the chambers of the Goddess. This secluded floor consists of four rooms, a study, two rooms for honored guests and the private quarters of the lady of the temple. The study is set with a large table and high-backed chairs and can accommodate a small party of guests; the edges of the room are lined with shelves of books. One room is accessible from either side of the study, these being the guest quarters for the closest company kept by Kieraline. Set between the two guest rooms is the largest room of the floor, that of the goddess herself. This room is decorated with tapestries of the sun, moon and stars and lit with delicate globes of starlight.
