Arda's time has drawn to an end, as all good things must. Remember it with fondness, and may it rest in peace.

Goodbye, everyone, I loved you all and Arda very dearly.

Former members may still log in and view all the old posts (now showing all posts, not just in-character and profiles), but the board is unavailable to new registrants and officially read-only. The CBox is still functional and many people still stop by to say hello.

This site's host, InvisionFree (zIFBoards), is transferring all the boards they host to their updated platform known as ZetaBoards as of an announcement on 7/17/2017. Arda has been converted as of January 2018. You can expect to see some visual changes when you visit, but all data (posts, accounts, forums, etc) remains intact.

Additionally, Photobucket stopped allowing hotlinking from its free accounts in 2017 so many images are currently "missing."
All files are still safely stored and awaiting transfer to a better hosting solution. You can read here for more info.

Per an additional announcement on 5/7/18, this board is being converted a second time, this time to TapaTalk from ZetaBoards. Details pending further information.

Temple of Life

Regular Forum Shrine of Holiness
Situated amongst the beautiful gardens within the Temple Grounds is a structure of nearly equal splendor. A small but noticeable path lined with beautiful white lilies leads to the wonderfully architectural Shrine of Holiness, which strays quite some distance from the widely revered Temple of Life. The shrine has no doors, but a beautiful white staircase leading to an open entrance. A cross hangs above the entrance to ward away any evil presence, and two holy guards stand at the sides of each entrance. They resemble priests or clerics, but they move not when those who have good intentions enter. If any evil attempts to make its way into the shrine, the holy guards will fight with holy power. Upon entering, the shrine is but a long hall separated with small arches. There are separate, small areas created by the arches that are intended for prayer. At the end of the long hall is a large dome-shaped room with a dazzling assortment of colorful flowers spread across the uncovered ground. The walls are lined with large windows that allow the rays of the sun to enter, giving the entire room an ethereal look. The top of the room is uncovered, and sky can be seen day or night, revealing the amazing wonders of the clouds and stars at all times. At the back of the dome-like room are two pillars connected to the wall, and betwixt is a chair with a cross-shaped back where the guardian sits to welcome his guests.

Regular Forum The Sanctuary
This massive room is the central worship and meditation chamber for those that come seeking the Goddess of Life. The room is like a cathedral, high and grand with a domed, stained glass ceiling that allows soft, colored light to pour in. Every sound echoes off of the walls and reverberates around the room, but the soft whispers of prayers flow gently. There are pews at the front and the altar rests at the back wall. There are two secondary entrances to the sanctuary, one at the middle left wall and one in the back right.

Regular Forum Hall of the Dead
It is in the Hall of the Dead where those that have passed await to cross into the unknown. None but the dead alone may enter the Hall of the Dead, not even the Goddess of Life herself, and none that have walked the Halls of the Dead have ever come back out. It is a solemn place without light. The entrance to the Halls are guarded by two regal, Imperial Archangels that stand tirelessly on watch, armed with great golden spears. They ensure that the souls of those that have passed on remain safe, and are blessed with mysterious powers that enable them to best serve their goddess.

Regular Forum The Dining Corridor
In this hall there are long, intricately decorated wooden tables in a row, surrounded by plenty of wooden chairs for sitting. At the back of the room is the head table where the matron goddess sits at the far end upon a throne slightly more elegant than the other seats. This is a room for eating and also celebrations. There is a large ballroom floor at the front right of the room intended for dancing if an occasion should arise for such celebration. The ceiling is moderately high, giving the room an open feeling. Food is served at all times of the day to best accommodate the many residents and visitors, but at "normal" meal times there is much more food and bustle.

Regular Forum Temple Grounds
There are many beautiful gardens and clear, calm pools of water that heal all wounds, illnesses, and weariness of those that drink of them. All that come to the temple leave their troubles at the doorstep of the lands of the Goddess of Life. Animals of all types roam freely in the grass, unafraid of those that enter. In the center of the ground, infront of the doors to the temple is a large triple-layered ivory fountain, decorated with crisp blue and silver runes. The bottom layer is filled with colored glass beads. One can hear the sounds of the babbling water, and the birds that sing in the gardens.

Regular Forum Entrance Hall
Beyond the large front doors of the temple is the entrance hall. At the far right is an elegant flight of stairs that leads to the upper levels, and at the center of the back wall is a set high, gold-ornamented doors that lead to the sanctuary. To the left and right of the wide sanctuary are corridors that lead to other parts of the temple. The floors here, as in most of the temple, are made of marble.

Regular Forum The Sacred Garden
Hidden from most, this garden has one flower for every life that has passed through the Hall of the Dead. A red rose for those that were good, and a black one for those that were corrupt. More still are there flowers that are colored white for those who died before their time and are forever innocent.

Regular Forum Portal Room
This is a vast room with no windows, furniture, or decorations. There are large metal circles on the floor with Elvish Cirth runes on them that tell where they lead. They are the portals to various locations in the realm of Arda. Not all go somewhere, and some do not go to the same place every time.
