Arda's time has drawn to an end, as all good things must. Remember it with fondness, and may it rest in peace.

Goodbye, everyone, I loved you all and Arda very dearly.

Former members may still log in and view all the old posts (now showing all posts, not just in-character and profiles), but the board is unavailable to new registrants and officially read-only. The CBox is still functional and many people still stop by to say hello.

This site's host, InvisionFree (zIFBoards), is transferring all the boards they host to their updated platform known as ZetaBoards as of an announcement on 7/17/2017. Arda has been converted as of January 2018. You can expect to see some visual changes when you visit, but all data (posts, accounts, forums, etc) remains intact.

Additionally, Photobucket stopped allowing hotlinking from its free accounts in 2017 so many images are currently "missing."
All files are still safely stored and awaiting transfer to a better hosting solution. You can read here for more info.

Per an additional announcement on 5/7/18, this board is being converted a second time, this time to TapaTalk from ZetaBoards. Details pending further information.

This is the meeting place of the powers of Arda. There is a long, intricately decorated wooden table in the middle of a vast room with a golden chair at the end where the Goddess of Life sits at council meetings. The other chairs are identical to that of the matron goddess, but made of silver. There is always food and drink readily available, and the Imperial Archangels that serve as the guards of the Goddess of Life are always seen walking there among the Ainur.

The prison in Aman where the powers of even the Ainur, excluding Lothlómendil, are suppressed. Valolvann is an open, outdoor area, where the ground is paved in marble. The perimeter of the rectangular enclosure has many stone pillars several stories high, joined together at the top by a flat roof. There are no walls here, and the height of the pillars allows it to be filled with light during the day, At night, hallowed orbs filled with the light of the stars illuminate the area. Each pillar is inscribed with a sacred Cirth rune whose meaning is known to only Lothlómendil. It is these runes that enchant the prison and enable it to suppress the powers of those that enter. Once a being is condemned to imprisonment here, they are bound by inescapable chains, and the heavy enchantments prevent them from leaving its confines, even if unbound. Those that are not condemned to imprisonment may pass freely through Valolvann, but their powers are still lost while in the area enclosed by the pillars.
