Summon Gilgamesh:
Summon forth an ancient warrior of epic proportions. Standing over eight feet tall and clad from head to foot in a suit of armour that forever drips with the blood of his fallen adversaries and radiates a perpetual mist, formed from the trapped souls of his long dead foes; Gilgamesh descends from the sky to once again do battle in his endless quest to find an equal in combat. But due to his divine strength, Gilgamesh is a fickle warrior, only coming to aid those he deems worthy.
In Character:When summoned to the battlefield Gilgamesh automatically benefits from certain status affecting spells.
Spells:1: The souls of stricken enemies forever swirl about Gilgamesh causing terror and panic to all around him. As such Gilgamesh automatically counts as having cast the
Haunt and
Fear spells.
2: Due to millennia of battles and war, Gilgamesh is stronger and faster beyond any mortal man's dreams. As such he is counted as having automatically cast the
Draconic Might and
Blur spells.
3: Gilgamesh is a semi-divine being that may cross the borders of realities at will. But, due to the fact that the summoner must call across dimensions to bring him forth, the caster will be drained of all mana for a minimum of three posts.
Weapons:Gilgamesh has crossed time and reality in search of a worthy foe. During his travels and battles, Gilgamesh has acquired a multitude of powerful swords, each with their own traits and abilities. Before entering combat, Gilgamesh will select one sword from his arsenal which he believes suits the situation best.
Excalibur: The most powerful of Gilgamesh's swords. A great broadsword that glows with an ever-radiant holy aura with the ability to slice through any material that is not made from adamantium and able to unleash a powerful blast of holy energy, Excalibur is used only when Gilgamesh truly believes his summoner worthy.
Durendal: After besting a supposed champion with ease and claiming the man's sword, Gilgamesh learned that his foe had suffered from a curse that has prevented the man from healing after each of his fights. Furious at the Gods for robbing him of a possible worthy foe, Gilgamesh placed the same curse upon the blade in the hope that he may one day pierce the heart of the God that cheated him. Much like the Blade of War, when stabbed by the Durendal the wound continues to cleave itself open until cured with
Sealing Wounds.
Masamune: A katana of immense size once wielded by a dark angel. Imbued with magic of the oldest and darkest kind, it is said that one slice from the blade could cut a star in half. The Masamune is the dark equivalent of the Excalibur; having almost as much power and able to cut through any material not made of adamantium or mythril, the Masamune creates a surge of dark magic when it strikes an opponent.
Tyrfing: Tyrfing is the only sword that Gilgamesh fears to use. He fears it because of a terrible curse placed upon it when he was still but a mortal man. It was with Tyrfing that Gilgamesh first began his never-ending quest to find a worthy opponent. Unfortunately for Gilgamesh, his first opponent came in the form of a great God of War and Fire. For a week the two powerful warriors clashed in ceaseless combat until finally Gilgamesh managed to strike the killing blow. As the God of War began to die, he uttered a curse upon both Gilgamesh and the Tyrfing, binding his soul to the blade.
Should Gilgamesh ever draw the Tyrfing in battle again, he will become one with the fallen and vengeful God of War, striking down all around him in a cataclysmic rage. If Gilgamesh chooses to use the Tyrfing, he will unleash the power of the War God in one huge attack called the
Terranova. This is the same as the
Supernova spell but is inflicted upon each character participating in the battle, including the summoner.
Out Of Character:Fickle:Gilgamesh is very cheap for a Summon because of this unique characteristic:
Gilgamesh, once purchased, may be used in one topic and one topic only for a predetermined length of time (depending on the sword he chooses) then must be repurchased if you wish to summon him in another topic. This may seem like a good deal until you factor in that you won't know which sword he will chose until AFTER you have bought him. Once you purchase the Gilgamesh summon, you must PM Loth (much like if you were requesting a PrC) to ask which sword Gilgamesh will use.
You may then use Gilgamesh in topic, factoring in the specific benefits/drawbacks of Gilgamesh's sword/ability.
Gilgamesh Duration:Excalibur: Gilgamesh may be used for only one post.
Masamune: Gilgamesh remains on the field for a maximum of two posts.
Durendal: Gilgamesh remains on the field for a maximum of three posts.
Tyrfing: Gilgamesh is only on the field for one post, but during that time he is a neutral character who will strike at every person participating in the area (including the summoner!!!) culminating in the
Terranova.
((I plan to add more swords to this later but first I would like to know what people think. I also have ideas for a similar summon in the form of mounted Knight, probably in the form of Lancelot, who will use a variety of spears/lances such as the Gungnir and the Lance of Longinus.))
