Title: Questioning

Sharzela - June 21, 2005 01:54 PM (GMT)
Sharzela sat on the deck of a ship; it was the one that had found her. She murmured softly to the ragged captain, they had been discussing the island on which she had been found. The captain was a handsome man with a pitch black beard and ever-laughing eyes. He was a well travelled man who had seen many strange sites and it was this that he and Sharzela where discussing. Sharzela had been there for about an hour, her and the captain got along well. Only now was she getting round to the questions she had come to ask. She asked him about the island on which she had been found, too small to attract the attention of anyone but a great place to fish. The island belonged to a small group in the area some of which, the captain said, where a lot larger. She began asking about the islands, where there any people on them, where there other places nearby where people lived or met? His answer was not the one she had hoped for. After speaking with the captain for a while longer she said goodbye, they had arranged a meal for the next evening.
Sharzela walked slowly too lost in thought to realy notice where she was going, maby she should still go to the island, incase there where some memorys there…
Sharzela decided to sit down and have something small to eat, she looked around and found a barrel to sit on. Purched gracefully on the top she sipped from a canteen holding some precious and delicious fruit juce
.

Nidhaguis - August 23, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
Nidhaguis walked down the frequently traveled road , observing the clouds play tag with one another. He had fallen into a carefree mood , tho he knew it would be only temporary. Many of days, he would find himself watching the world from the corner of his eyes , not trusting this new change in scenery. Tho , having his sword in hand reach brought some ease to his wandering.
He found himself in what appeared to be a port side city. The people here did business in a selfish manner. More then once , a man or woman charged into him , unaware of his presence. It was a good thing he did not expect apologies , because he recieved only curses. He smiled as they would walk off, only to run into another person. Chaos was a part of every residents life.
He reached the docks in a timely manner , as the sun had moved only slightly. Looking around the area , he sighed as the only one ship was docked. And it looked as tho it had just returned from a tedious journey. Needing a ship , he franticly looked around again , only to spot serveral small fishing boats beneath the dulled planks of the dock. "This was not something I had counted on." He muttered to himself, now returning to his neutral mood.
As he stood there on the dock , some people finally did take notcie to him. His large figure did rise above the crowd , and his appearance only added to the unwanted attention. Not many people where like him, so it limited their understanding of his kin. A strong breeze passed across his face , telling all of a storm that was to come. He decided to talk with the captain of the docked ship.
Walking down the dock , he saw a young woman sitting on a barrel. What made him notcie she was there, was her appearance. Thoughts of his kin returned to him.He continued walking towards the ship , but looked back to the girl more than once. Upon reaching the ramp that led onto the ship , he had placed the girl from his mind and was ready to talk business. Reaching the deck he saw a man giving orders to two men , who where having problems with one of the sails. He assumed that the man was the captain.
"Hello there." The man said , taking notice to Nidhaguis. "What can I do for you?" He had the look of a well worn traveler about him. His black beard only enhanced his features. "I was wondering if you plan to set sail soon? Nidhaguis asked. "As soon as some minor repairs are done. Im sorry to say that we don't do personal transportations." The man added at the last second. "It is alright , im not trying to get anywhere in particular. I just wish to move away from this city. I'll pay whatever you ask." Nidhaguis removed a small bag from under his black cloak. "Fine. It will still be a few days till we are ready to set sail again. Come find me then , and we will discuss payment." Nidhaguis nodded . "Thank you." He turned to walk away from the ship , when the captain asked for his name. "Nid." He replied and left the ship.
"I suppose I can bear this place for a few days." He said reluctantly to himself. Walking back towards the city , he saw the girl again , still sitting on the barrel.

Sharzela - August 27, 2005 01:14 PM (GMT)
Sharzela had spent the night sleeping with her back against the barrel; she currently had no money and subsequently couldn’t pay for a night at an inn. She had woken to find the docks bustling with busy people. Sharzela sat there watching as the daily business of the docks flowed around her, she got a few odd glances from passing people but everyone was too busy to wonder about her.
Sharzela sat engrossed in one of her favourite pastimes, watching people, and only noticed the dark stranger when he walked up to the captain she had been speaking to the evening before. A conversation between the two soon followed, but she was too engrossed in her own thoughts to listen in;
There was something about this particular stranger that made a million bells in her head start ringing… he reminded her of something… Sharzela watched the stranger, what was it about him? Then it struck her, he looked a lot like her. The black hair, black eyes and pale skin, all features that she possessed. He walked past her, towards the city and their eyes met… should she introduce herself?

Sharzela realised that she had nothing to lose by introducing herself, but might lose the chance to gain some insight into her past if she didn’t. She walked slowly up to him and said in a slow, casual voice
“You look like a stranger to Lómëdor; perhaps I can help you find your way around. By the way I’m Sharzela, I visit here quite often and it’s not so bad”The last bit had been an extra, she had been watching him and it looked like he was just itching to get out of here.

Nidhaguis - August 27, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)
"I guess we are both strangers to this land ." He said in almost an angered tone. with a sly smile on his face , his introduced himself. "My name is Nidhaguis. It is a pleasure to meet you Sharzela." He looked to the people walking about the dock, still oblivious. "I am in no need of a guide , for i wish to learn nothing of this place." He watched her expressions closely. She seemed young , not knowing much about the world. He found it odd. "But , maby we can talk some. Come , lets get away from this." He added motioning to the port. "You can tell me of your journeys since your departure." He grinned , as if he was being sarcastic. He started walking , only to turn around and see her still standing there . "Well , what say you?" He asked , on the verge of becoming annoyed.

Sharzela - August 28, 2005 09:06 AM (GMT)
(Please try not to control other people’s characters. )

Sharzela listened intently to what the stranger, Nidhaguis was saying. It was interesting, not because what he was saying was particularly important, but because what he was saying often contradicted or was different to his tone of voice or his body movements.
"You can tell me of your journeys since your departure.” by this time Sharzela was laughing on the inside.
"Well, what say you?"
He seemed annoyed so Sharzela walked quickly until they where side by side. He had asked about her journey, since her departure from where?
“I cannot tell you much, I was found on an island by the captain you where speaking too a little while ago. I had no memory of who I was, I still do not know much only a few memories have come back. I have been here for a week now; I just came back from the Salquedor Grasslands.”
Sharzela watched him carefully; there was much bitterness and dark humour in this man…though he did not look like a man, there where a few suggestions of something else... that would be it.
“Its not so bad here, so many different types of people come through here. It is a city after all; there is a place for everyone here.” Sharzela stopped, thinking about all the different people she had met in this place. Then she said with a lopsided grin, speaking more to herself than to Nidhaguis
“Even people who burn down buildings”
Sharzela chuckled and then turned to Nidhaguis and said
“What of your journey?”

Nidhaguis - August 29, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)
He fell silent as he was forced to remeber the memories he tried so hard to forget. Many of nights he would be awaken by screams , his screams. Everyday to him seemed pointless at times. Yet he continued on , by the sheer abundance of hate he had for his kin back home. He looked to her , trying to hide the demons of his life.
"My journey...it is not important." He said , trying to evade the question. "I am but a face...one which requires no reason for traveling. Wanderlust , you could say , has a fast hold on me." He smiled slightly , trying to make his lie more convincing. He looked around to see if anyone was close by. He heard sounds coming from the travern they had just passed , other then that , they were alone. "Im not sure about these parts of Arda , but not many people take kindly to our kin. Does anyone know you can turn?" He asked , trying to change the subject slightly. "I would fly away from here if I could , but I don't want the attention." He continued , watching the shadow of a cloud pass upon the ground.

Sharzela - August 29, 2005 01:25 PM (GMT)
(Grrrr, I hate time differences! You guys have posted a lot since I was last here… I’ve decided that Sharzela knows everything from all the other posts; I can’t talk to a half-dragon and not remember things. So she now knows most of her history...)

Sharzela watched Nid intently; Pain, why all the pain? He talked, avoiding the question she had asked. It seemed to cause him pain. Sharzela struggled with herself, a healer should heal and he looked like he needed healing but if he did not wish to talk about it then she shouldn’t ask. Wanderlust, Sharzela laughed inside at that, did he think she was that blind to lies and half truths?

Suddenly talk turned to flight, now it was Sharzela’s turn to feel pain. She looked down at Sirnath; taking her hand up to her chest she healed the black amulet. Sharzela had not turned since she had discovered that she could, there where so many memories. When she had flown it had been difficult to stay in the air, she was bombarded by flashbacks and memories. Each little sight each little sound sparked memories, 800 years of them.

Sharzela turned back to what Nid was saying and smiled, he acted as if people here where scared of dragons and creatures of other kinds. With all the different people coming through Arda’s largest city, demons, vampires, guardians and even… Gods, did he really think that they would be shocked. It would attract attention though.
Sharzela smiled lopsidedly at Nid and said with much amusement in her voice
“By now most people know that I can turn, news like what happened at the bar travels fast.”
She chuckled, but somewhere inside of her some part of her was silently crying. It would take a long, long time to accept all the memories she had found.
“And about the ‘kin’ thing, I am in fact human. It is only through love that I have been granted the gift of flight” as she said this Sharzela’s right had touched the black dragon that hung below her neck.
“We could walk outside the city walls and change from there; I have no purpose at the moment.”
Then she smiled and said, as if the thought had just occur to her “I wish to travel, Wanderlust” and she smiled slyly, if she could help him she would. The most difficult thing was accepting that you needed help… Sharzela sighed and looked back to Nid
“If you can hold your wish to fly away, there’s a bar near here where I often go and I seem to be thirsty.”

Nidhaguis - August 29, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
He smiled slightly at his own foolishness. "I could use more than a drink." Nidhaguis had seperated himself from the world , and it never occured to him that nightmares worse then half-dragons have walked upon Arda. It seems his solitude came with a price. A slight bead of sweat began to form on his brows , the day now being high noon.

"Lead the way." He said , almosted spirited. Tho his intentions did not lie at the bar. He wished to know more about Sharzela's "gift". Hopefully , once the where outside the city...he could witness her powers first hand.

Sharzela - August 30, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
The sun beat down on Sharzela as she wondered what he meant by more than a drink, his mood seemed to have lifted and he seemed in a much better mood than he had before.
"Lead the way." he said, so she did.
With a slight bounce in her step she turned to the right, expecting him to follow, and began making her way to the Wilwarin Inn and Pub. She hadn’t been to the inn since it was rebuilt after… what had happened. It would be nice and cool in there, it was much to hot out here.
