A calm and gentle wind blew across the lake sending muliple ripples across the cool water. Ike watched the water as the wind blew...it seemed to have a calming effect on him. Easing the angel's soul. He sat on a rock near the lake that was surrounded by medium sized grass. The only noise in the lake area seemed to be Ike's breathing. He looked up at the night sky with a smile. No cloud in the sky just the big bright moon. Ike was glad this night was calm and peaceful. It seemed as if time itself had stopped.
"This is such a peaceful night." Ike said softly gazing at the cool water once more. "If this could only last forever."
The splashing of water caught Ike's attention and he looked warily to find the source. Two deer on the other side of the lake where drinking the water. Its just two deer...Thought the angel as he gazed at the sight. Nothing to be alarmed about. Ike continued to stare at the deer watching them calmly drink the water. A cool breeze seemed to pick up blowing his wings and hair gently. All was calm until the deer hit the ground running for the forest.
"Why are they running?" Ike wandered staring in the direction the deer went. He calmly looked to his left keeping an eye out for danger.
"Huh. Hello? Is someone out there?" Asked the angel after a moment of thought.
Ike wondered who could be out there and kept his his right hand on the hilt of his sword. Although he remained calmed while waiting for whatever or whoever it was to appear. Danger or not? Only time would tell.....
Lan wandered through the forest in search of the lake. He had been wondering for a few hours and was already sick of this forest. Lan wanted to find the lake and wandered how far away it was. The forest was quite peaceful with no sound except for Lan's feet walking the ground. He sighed hoping soon that the forest would end and that he would see the lake.
"I hope I can get out of here soon." Lan muttered to himself. "I hate this forest..."
Soon he was out of the forest and gazing at the lake's water. Relieved that he finally made it he walked up to the waters. Then a noise...which was someone else's voice...caught his attention.
"Huh. Hello? Is someone out there?"
Lan walked forward and noticed an angel sitting on a rock. He was alittle amazed at the site. He had never seen an angel before in his life. Lan was alittle nervous about approaching the person since they were an element of light. Still Lan decided to answer them.
"Hello...um angel." Lan smiled leaning on his staff. "My name is Lan. Im a mage/healer. I didnt not mean to alarm you. I was just out here to see this place. I have never been here before. Ive heard that this place was rather nice. And those people were right. This place is nice. So what were you doing out here?" Lan decided to ask the angel.
I'll tell him I'm a vampire when the time is right. No need to give him a reason for him to judge me for no reason.... Lan thought. I'll just keep that quiet for now...unless he asks.
Lan waited for the angel's response while standing about three feet away from him in the light of the moon.
Ike heard some branches crunch and footsteps coming from his left. Turning Ike noticed a young boy with a heal staff in his hands standing before him. He didnt seem like much of a threat to Ike. He looked as if he were just a child anyway. Still Ike didnt under estimate the boy remembering the old saying, "Big things come from small packages."
"Hello...um angel." said the boy who approached Ike. "My name is Lan. Im a mage/healer. I didnt not mean to alarm you. I was just out here to see this place. I have never been here before. Ive heard that this place was rather nice. And those people were right. This place is nice. So what were you doing out here?"
"Thats quite alright." Ike anwsered calmly putting the hand that was on the hilt of his sword to his side. "Hello there, Lan. My name is Ike. Im just a simple mercenary and there is no reason why I was out here, really. I was just out here to enjoy the view, you know? It is a nice place to relax." Ike noticed that Lan was a good few feet away from him and he wondered why? Angelphobia perhaps? Strange... Ike thought looking at Lan for a moment.
"Come on over here." Said Ike making a friendly gesture to show the boy he was harmless. "We can talk if you like. There is no need to be afraid of me if you are. Im only an angel after all."
"An angel? Yes. Heh. Im not afraid." Lan responded and walked till he was about a foot and a half inches away from where Ike was sitting.
"Hello Ike." He smiled sitting down in the grass near the water. A breeze blew his hair and Lan could sense it but he could not feel it. He laid his heal staff beside him and looked at the water.
"Ever wander why were are all on this earth, Ike?" Lan asked trying to start a conversation...which he mostly wasnt very good at because he was mostly a quiet person. Lan would usually let the other person start the conversation."I mean ever wander why we are living? Ive always wandered why I'm alive..."
Lan often wondered those very questions...half the time. He had always wandered why he was alive. What purpose does his life have? He didnt know... Lan figured since that Ike was an angel maybe he could anwser that question.
