Title: Help of the Holy
Description: [P] Zenith Meria
Thavron - November 22, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
Thavron briefly looked through the paperwork, gold and silver orbs quickly glancing at key phrases and titles. He thumbed through the several sheets, eyebrows rising in disbelief more and more with each passing second. It is of the Lómëdor Guard's best interest to remove of the demon summoners and their minions in a manner that is least dangerous to the general populace. Therefore, a representative of the Keepers of the Sacred Deed, which specialize in countering demonic and dark magic, will be arriving in Lomedor midday to evaluate the problem. It went on, discussing the reported location of the group and various sightings of demons within the city. The papers finally concluded with commands on where to meet this representative and what to tell them regarding the demonic activity.
Thavron studied the last material closely, then pulled the text away from reading distance and lay it on the side of the small bed he was sitting on. The guardsman looked about his inn room; the only objects inside it were his cot and his desk, which was unorganized and piled high with paperwork, scrolls, inventories, and books. A raven perched on the top of the desk's chair stared at Thavron with an intensity his tired face didn't match. And finally, a large Anima was curled up around the corner of the room, sound asleep.
Two great brown wings flexed behind Thavron, stretching to full length and folding back inward again. He ran his fingers through his hair, looking down at the papers for the last time before sighing and getting up from his sitting position. There was no time to lose; Thavron picked up his golden Resplendant armor from the floor and put it on, including his boots and gauntlets. Finally, he grabbed the blue spear Integrity which was laying against the wall next to his desk. The noise caused the Anima to wake up momentarily, but he immediately closed his eyes again, although he did open his beak to speak despite this.
"Where are you going now?" he asked in an almost sarcastic tone. The guardsman didn't answer, for he had slammed the door closed behind him just as the multicolored creature had uttered the final word. Lomedor was just as busy as it normally was, but Thavron didn't bother trying to weave among the various people, carts, horses, and the like. He immediately spread his wings and took to the skies. The air above the cities were much less crowded than the ground, although there was the occasional flying creature that passed by now and then. Not even five minutes had passed when he landed. Thavron's impact with the ground wasn't as graceful as what would have been expected, but it would do.
Finally at his destination the brown angel went over the directions and information that had been discussed in the paperwork he had just read. It commented that the representative's name was Zenith Meria. There was a rumor that he was a white-winged angel, which would have made Thavron incredibly uneasy if it wasn't for recent events. Standing yards from the front gates of Lomedor, he constantly scanned the skies and ground for activity, waiting for this Keeper to arrive.
Zenith Meria - November 22, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
A group of Demon Summoners, yes that is what Zenith Meria had been called to help with. In truth the angel did not mind at all about helping the Lómëdor Gaurd with this problem, after all as a Keeper of the Sacred Deed Zenith wanting nothing more than to help aid the light within Arda, and these Demon Summoners were a threat to the work the Keepers had already done since being formed by the Gaurdian of Holiness.
Stood alot Keepers Peak Zenith got the final of his gear together for the battle ahead. He wore his full set of golden Resplendent Armour, although without the helm for now. He even had the cloak that went with the armour on him. Hanging from his waist at the left was Zeniths Resplendent Countering Longsword known as Redemption while strapped to his back in a cross layout, still of course in their holsters, were his Holy Blade and Blade of Balance known as Salvation and Judgement. The young angel then picked up his Resplendent Tower shield strapping it onto his back, it covered most of Salvation and Judgement, but still left their hilts out so their were to draw in battle.
The last two weapons Zenith was going to take with him on this battle was a dagger strapped to his left leg made from a fallen tooth of the Goddess of Chaos, while on his right leg was strapped a Shadow Dagger Zenith now called Corruption. It was clear this angel had somewhat of a passion when it came to battle, but these weapons were not his only means of stopping the darkness.
Not only was Zenith a skilled swordsman and Paladin, but we was also a skilled Mage and had learned many spells in his training with the Gaurdian of Holiness and the Goddess of Life.
The long light brown hair of the angel fell down over his shoulders as he went to pick up his helm. Moving his hair Zenith placed the Resplendent Heaume onto his head, with the Heaume now also in place the effects of the full Resplendent set took effect. All parts of the armour sealed together to leave no part of Zeniths body exposed, another effect of this full armour set that always helped Zenith out was the fact it made his healing, holy, and protection magic stronger than it normaly would be, and that added with his training from the Goddess of life made those spells very effective.
Now with everything he needed for battle Zenith headed down to the main entrance of the sacred mountain of the Keepers to see his Dragon and Cerberus. With Telsor and Arc before him Zenith said, "Arc, I want you to stay here incase someone is to attack the others ok. While Telsor, let us head for Lómëdor with haste! We must help defeat these Demon Summoners at once before these bring more darkness into the world." Both beasts seemed to nod in agreement to Zenith as the angel made his way onto the back on Telsor.
Once on Telsors back Zenith and his Plasma Dragon made their way out of the sacred mountain and raised into the air. Now heading towards the city of Lómëdor Zenith had some time to think about the enemy he would soon be facing. In truth the young angel did not know much about them, but that was the point of going to Lómëdor so that he could find out as much as he could in order to fully help the gaurds of the city.
Soon the dragon was near the city entrance and Zenith could see what appeared to be a winged figure waiting. With a large thud the dragon landed on the ground near the entrance and Zenith jumped off of its back before turning back to Telsor and saying, "If I need you I will send Shadow to get you my friend. Stay safe!" After saying this the large dragon nodded once more before taking off into the air once more. Shadow then made his appearance as he landed on the shoulder of Zenith, Shadow being Zenith falcon that he had raised from a hatchling.
The young Keeper then turned around to face the figure at the entrance, he appeared to be one of the gaurds, and of course Zenith instantly thought it was the person sent to meet him. First the angel spread out his pure white angelic wings as they had been tucked into his back most of the day. Once tucking them back into his back Zenith began to walk towards the gaurdsman. Now standing before the man Zenith said, "I am the member of the Keepers that has been sent to help you. Incase you have not been fully informed my name is Zenith Meria, an Archangel. So please, tell me how I might help the Lómëdor Gaurd with these Summoners." Zenith then stood his ground as he awaited on the gaurdsmans reply.
Thavron - November 22, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
He had only waited ten minutes or so before a figure appeared in the sky. It was a faint outline of a dragon. The red color of its scales, normally being associated with evil or neutrality rather than holiness, made Thavron disregard the flying creature in belief that the representative of the Keepers would be riding on a familiar of the more stereotypical variety. When it landed, however, he was proven wrong. Thavron leaned against the city walls, arms crossed, with his head turned to his left to curiously view the landing plasma dragon. An eyebrow lifted when a man dismounted, quickly saying something to his dragon before walking over to the guardsman. He was completely covered in Resplendent armor with the exception of a helmet, in contrast to the few pieces the brown angel owned. They were a gift from Raikenza, her life savings spent on them before her death and subsequent resurrection. After spreading his pure white wings, there was no doubt in Thavron's mind this was the Keeper he was looking for.
The guardsman studied the dragon briefly, then turned his attention back to the other celestial. "I am the member of the Keepers that has been sent to help you. In case you have not been fully informed my name is Zenith Meria, an archangel. So please, tell me how I might help the Lómëdor Guard with these summoners," he said. Thavron stood from his leaning position and eyed Zenith. Dealing with the followers of life and holiness was new to the brown angel, except perhaps short confrontations with haughty elves and white-wings in the Sanctuary. This man looked powerful, however. He would be a great benefit to the disposal of the demons and their respective summoners. "Impressive," Thavron nodded in approval. "Well met, Archangel Meria. I am Thavron Ráma, Captain of the Foot in the Third Company of the Lómëdor Guard. If you would please follow me, I will show you the area the summoners have been reported."
Disappearing among the crowd Thavron slowly made his way through the streets. He looked behind his shoulder every once in awhile to see if Zenith was still in sight. The white wings he had were the perfect frame of reference to accomplish this task. Glimmering in the sunlight of midday was Integrity, whose end pushed into the cobblestone with each stride made by the brown angel. Finally he emerged into the Lómëdor Square, almost as bustling as the previous roads he had traveled through to get to this point. Thavron stopped and turned around, waiting for Zenith to catch up with him. "The building behind me," the brown angel motioned in that direction with a thumb, "is where most of the reports of demonic activity have been located in. The summonings take place in an underground tunnel dug out of the wall of that store's basement. If you would like, I could show you the inside so you could verify whether or not demons have been present there. The warlocks apparently hide in their lair during the daytime, so there is no danger at the moment unless we go in on our own terms."
Zenith Meria - November 24, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
Looking around the entrance to Lomedor for a few moments Zenith then heard the words, "Impressive, Well met, Archangel Meria. I am Thavron Ráma, Captain of the Foot in the Third Company of the Lómëdor Guard. If you would please follow me, I will show you the area the summoners have been reported." The angels eyes quickly locked onto this Thavron as he spoke and Zenith nodded towards the brown winged angel before setting off to follow him through Lomedor.
The city was very active at this time, more so than Zenith had ever seen it before. Did the people of Lomedor know about the summoners? And if so why had they not left the city to be safe until the problem was sorted. Then again, if the problem could soon be stopped what would be the point of having the city worry. As he passed a large group of people Zenith overheared them talking about himself and Thavron. Not many people in Arda, at the time, had the Resplendent Armour, let alone a complete set. Seeing the glimmer from Thavrons spear ahead Zenith thought it safe to be ready for a battle at any moment. Placing his right hand infront of himself the angel summoned his Holy Blade into his grasp. Now with Salvation in hand Zenith felt more at ease.
Salvation had once been his fathers blade, but now Zenith had taken it for his own use against the battle with darkness, and the blade had served the young Keepers well thus far. The very structure of the building within Lomedor even took the breath of Zenith away as he passed more spectacular looking buildings. Getting side tracked from the view for a few moments Zenith lost sight of Thavron. The only was he had been able to find the brown angel again was by the glimmering effect the sun still made upon his spear.
Now that he had once again found Thavron, Zenith hurried to catch up to the Lomedor Gaurd. Upon reaching the angel Zenith then heard him go on to say, "The building behind me is where most of the reports of demonic activity have been located in. The summonings take place in an underground tunnel dug out of the wall of that store's basement. If you would like, I could show you the inside so you could verify whether or not demons have been present there. The warlocks apparently hide in their lair during the daytime, so there is no danger at the moment unless we go in on our own terms." Taking a few moments to look at the layout of the building Zenith soon began to feel a familiar air about it. He could feel the evil with the city more at this place than anywhere else and knew that Thavron spoke the truth.
The young Keeper then walked over towards the buildings entrance before turning back to Thavron and saying, "I can feel the evil energy within here. It is clear their activity has been more than I first thought. Yes, If you would be so kind as to show me the inside of this building then I will be able to get a better idea of when they were last active here." As Zenith awaited on the reply of Thavron the young angel looked into the heavens and thought to himself, "May the blessings of the Goddess of Life be with us both during this search, I dont want any inocent lives to be taken, and as a Keeper of the Sacred Deed I will do all within my power to protect those of Lomedor on this day." Zenith then once more looked towards Thavron as his grip became somewhat tighter around the hilt of his Holy Blade, Salvation.
Thavron - November 24, 2006 09:38 PM (GMT)
"I can feel the evil energy within here. It is clear their activity has been more than I first thought. Yes, If you would be so kind as to show me the inside of this building then I will be able to get a better idea of when they were last active here," Zenith had said. The brown angel paused for a moment to digest the information, then merely nodded and made his way forward towards the shop in question. It was relatively bland-looking. The dark brown color of its wooden walls was showing early signs of rot, while a crude sign hanging above the doorway marked the shop as a feline merchant. Thavron folded his wings tighter and pushed the door open, hesitantly striding inside. The room was heavily lit and seemed perfectly ordinary in almost all respects. A heavily muscular man standing behind the counter in the back eyed Thavron with a pair of ferocious green eyes for a few moments as he entered. He appeared much stronger than a normal human was capable of being, and there were tribal markings tattooed along the left side of his face, his arms, and faintly seen through the chainmail armor he was wearing. The barbarian quickly returned to sharpening a long broadsword with one hand. The other, Thavron saw briefly, was gone, having been replaced with a piece of metal that protected the stub.
The brown angel strode inside further in order to allow Zenith space to come in. After moving inside more the guardsman was now able to see much of the massive main store. Cats of all shapes and sizes were here; a leopard basked in the light of a window, two cougars struggled with their chains, a tiger lounged inside a large cage and a black cat paced back and forth along the counter. There was even a blue-colored cat with gills and fins that swam inside a small indoor pond crudely fashioned from metal and wood. Thavron shifted uneasily when the tiger looked in his direction. "This is it," he said shakily, but was trying hard to cover up his fear. Cats certainly didn't get along with Thavron. Memories flashed through his head of how his wing was almost torn off by a dire cougar when he was living up in the Ered Annon mountains. The sudden speech from the brown angel caught the barbarian shopkeeper's attention again.
"Can I help you?" he said in a low, gruff voice.
"We would like to see this building's basement," Thavron replied while motioning to Zenith. The man lifted one of his bushy brown eyebrows in a relatively confused manner.
"Certainly an interesting request. That basement's been empty for years. Hell, it's not even anyone's property, much less mine."
"Then you shouldn't mind our intrusion," the guardsman concluded. Keeping as far a distance from the cats as possible, Thavron walked towards the staircase on the other side of the room and, just after looking back at Zenith, made his way down.
It was pitch-black, so the brown angel spared himself the need to squint by materializing a fireball in his right hand. It hovered in the air inches above his palm, ready to be thrown but still providing just enough light to barely make out the outlines of the walls and the rats that scurried into the floorboards. Thavron turned in all directions, trying to find the fabled hole in the wall that led to the lair of the demonic summoners. "Well, Zenith, sense anything yet?"
Zenith Meria - December 9, 2006 11:35 PM (GMT)
Zenith followed Thavron into the building only to see a vast amount of different kinds of cats. From the common everyday cat, all the way to one that could breath under the water. It was a wonderfull sight for the angel who had not seen so many different types of cats in his life before. The angel then seen the owner of this store, a large man with only one arm who was tending to a blade. Continuing to follow Thavron Zenith then head the shop owner ask if he could help the pair out a little.
Listening to the conversation between both Thavron and the other man Zenith nodded towards the shop owner. Thavron them seemed to head towards the basement without much look at the cats, then angel the brown winged angel lived in this city so must have maybe seen this store before. Taking one last look at the cats Zenith said to the store owner, "Thank you for your help sir!" The angel then went off to follow Thavron down to the basement of the building.
Walking down the stairs it soon got rather dark, the only thing Zenith could see was the burning fireball in the hand of Thavron ahead of him, the brown winged angel seemed to be looking for some kind of entrance down here and Zenith could feel the evil energy growing more powerfull with ever step closer that he took. Soon the Keeper also formed a fireball in his free left hand, his Holy Blade still gripped tight within his right hand. Seeing Thavron just ahead of him Zenith increased his pace. Once reached Thavron the brown winged angel said, "Well, Zenith, sense anything yet?" The Keeper nodded towards Thavron before saying, "Its not much, but the evil energy I felt before is stronger in this area, It cant have been to long since they last passed by. We should be carefull, I have the feeling someone might be near, or rather something." The fireball in the hand of Zenith then grew a little larger in size as the angel looked around for any sign of movement.
It felt strange for Zenith being here, being called on to help out the Lomedor gaurds. Sure he was one of the Keepers of the Sacred Deed, but the angel was also still young. Zenith was only nineteen years of age and already he had been through and done so much in his life, and had gained so much power in a short space of time. It was very strange indead, but Zenith did not have time to ponder on this for to long. He had summoners to stop, and he had to stop them before the people of this city were hurt!
Thavron - December 16, 2006 02:32 AM (GMT)
Jackpot! The fireball hovering above Thavron's open palm cast a bright outline of a large hole in the wall. Jagged edges lining the six-by-four feet opening gave the entrance a brutal feel. A small, partial smirk appeared on the brown angel's face; he turned, motioned to Zenith in the direction of his new discovery, and then hurled the fireball into the hole with one abrupt motion. The path, as it seemed, went straight for several yards before taking a right-angle turn (at which the flaming ball of magic crashed into the earthen wall and dissipated). Thavron outwardly showed his satisfaction in the form of a long smile that was just barely illuminated by the fireball held in the archangel's hand. Only moments later had Zenith spoken. "It's not much, but the evil energy I felt before is stronger in this area, It can't have been too long since they last passed by. We should be careful, I have the feeling someone might be near, or rather something." With this, Thavron stroked his chin with a free hand, peering into the depths of the tunnel inquisitively.
"You are powerful, Archangel Meria, but I refuse to put you at an unnecessary amount of risk to your life," Thavron remarked, although his attention did not turn to the man in question that he was speaking toward, "for we must depart this place for now and wait to bring these summoners to justice until we have sufficient backup. I am as curious as anyone to see what lies beyond that bend, but it can wai ---" he was interrupted by a low grumbling noise that lightly shook the room. Out of reflex the brown angel brought Integrity to both of his hands in a somewhat ready stance. Backing up, Thavron glanced toward Zenith as if awaiting some sort of explanation, or perhaps trying to verify in his eyes whether or not the white-wing heard the noise as well.
Bounding through the tunnel was a massive donkey-sized hellhound. Flames tore through cracks in its skin while its forked tongue lolled out behind it. There were two seconds to prepare for its attack, which was more than enough time for Thavron to react. Holding one hand close to the end of Integrity's hilt and the other closer to the blade, the brown angle leapt in front of the opening in the wall just as the demonic beast broke into a large pounce. The spear caught its rapidly closing jaws that refused to let go. Using a tremendous amount of strength Thavron hurled himself and his weapon to the side, where centripetal force acted on the hellhound and eventually caused it to go careening through the sky. And, unintentionally, right in the direction of Zenith.
Zenith Meria - December 25, 2006 11:25 AM (GMT)
Looking over to Thavron Zenith seen an outline of an entrance. The angel smirked towards this entrance. At least they know knew where these demon summoners where hiding. Now was the time to pass through this entrance and destroy these summoners of evil. Zenith was not sure exactly what he would encounter, but the angel would stop at nothing to rid Arda of these evil beings. He then seen Thavron throwing his Fireball into the entrance, it seemed that the path indead went on for a while. Of course the thoughts of stopping these summoners were soon placed on hold as Zenith heard the voice of Thavron say, "You are powerful, Archangel Meria, but I refuse to put you at an unnecessary amount of risk to your life, "for we must depart this place for now and wait to bring these summoners to justice until we have sufficient backup. I am as curious as anyone to see what lies beyond that bend, but it can wai ---" The brown winged angel had suddently stopped his path of speach when a strange noise was heard.
Zenith seen Thavron take his spear in both hands and look in the general direction of Zenith, seeing Thavron do this Zenith nodded and tightened his grip armour the hilt of his Holy Blade, Salvation. The angel then slowly ran the fingers of his left hand over the blade casting a spell upon it. With Salvation now blessed with the Holy Hammer spell Zenith was ready to battle any being of darkness. Zenith began to move his head from side to side looking for the source of the noise, little known to him that the source was just about to make its appearance known to both Thavron and Zenith.
Heading right towards the pair of angels was a large hellhound. Since it was heading out from the tunnel it was heading for Thavron first. Before Zenith had even a moment to react the beast had jump and was now locked with the spear of Thavron. Zenith could only watch on as the beast was suddently thrown to the side, unlucky for the Arch Angel of Life however as the beast was heading right towards Zenith now. Quickly the angel raised his left hand and his power of Telekinesis took effect of the body of this hellhound. Quickly moving his left hand back towards his side Zenith looked on as the beast flew right towards the wall and smashed into it with great force. It was not dead, but would give the angel enough time to think of what to do next. It was clear both Thavron and Zenith would need to slay this beast to get out of here, and they had to do it before it escaped into the city!
Zenith quickly turned to face Thavron before saying, "Angel Thavron. Are you ok? We need to think of something quick to slay this beast. It the first time I have faced a Hell Hound! Are you ready to attack?" Zenith then awaited the reply of Thavron while at the same time taking his Blade of Balance, Judgement, from its sheath and into his left hand.
Thavron - December 30, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
"Angel Thavron. Are you okay? We need to think of something quick to slay this beast. It the first time I have faced a hellhound! Are you ready to attack?" As if his actions were the answer itself, Thavron turned and paced toward the demonic beast. The creature's muscles were quivering from the crushing telepathic blow Zenith had dealt to it. Cracks in the wooden and stone wall had formed from the crash site. It appeared as though the demon was entirely composed of fire, although it acted like several bones were broken. Thavron scratched his head as he looked over the beast to try to formulate a plan. He frowned a bit; the thing looked almost defenseless. It was of his best judgment to just let it be, for the brown angel knew firsthand what it felt like to be attacked with no real form of defending himself. Thavron turned to communicate this to Zenith, but at that very moment a new life came back into the hellish canine. It jerked its head upward a bit, burying the angel's ankle between its jaws. He jumped in somewhat of a surprise and, like it was a reflex, tore his limb out the demon's grasp and spun around with Integrity at the ready once more.
When its blade dug into the hellhound's skull with bone-crushing strength, it was apparent the creature was no more. Thavron ripped his weapon out with a gush of fiery lavalike blood. "Now, we will depart." As he reached for the basement doorknob, however, it began to turn and open itself. The brown angel took a few steps back, lifting an eyebrow at the sight of several guardsmen who poured into the small basement room. Its leader gave Zenith a confused look before addressing Thavron.
"What the hell are you two doing here?"
"I was going to ask the same of you gentlemen." Thavron replied with a less-than-lighthearted tone. It was an uncommon occurance to witness a lower-ranked guard be disrespectful to its superiors.
"We are guardsmen of the First Company. I am Captain Gaines. Now, if you two civilians would please step aside. There are demons here, and we best board up the hole they made in the wall with due haste." The words completely revolted Thavron, and his eyes narrowed in steadily building-up anger. The Guard was a semi-militaristic unit divided into separate companies, each led by captains and a colonel. A single general had the ability to command all the companies, however. The Third Company, which Thavron belonged to, was one of the most skilled and renowned groups just under the First. Their ego and extreme sexism and racism had caused Thavron and possibly the rest of the Third to carry a relatively secret hatred toward them. The whole First was composed completely of human males, completely ignoring the strength and importance of females, and other races like orcs...and angels.
Thavron blinked twice. "...You truly expect a few boards to hold off a horde of demons and their summoners!?" he yelled abruptly, not bothering to think before speaking. "How incompetent can you possibly be!? You can't just fix up a hole in the wall and forget about the problems behind it!" By now the brown angel's teeth were bared, and his grip was tightened on Integrity so hard his knuckles were white. One of the First Company soldiers placed a plank of wood in position and began nailing it with an iron hammer. Captain Gaines merely lifted his eyebrows at Thavron's 'sudden' hostility, leaning back to get some distance between the two people. "Please calm down, civilian ---"
"We are not damn civilians!" Thavron barked. "This is the most useless course of action I have ever heard in my life! Do you people even know what a demon is, what it can do!?" He tossed the Captain an especially cold glare before walking over to the hole in the wall with heavy steps. It was halfway covered by now, the soldiers calmly at work. Thavron pushed aside one that was blocking his way, sending the man colliding into another. They both nearly fell over. Holding Integrity at the very base of the blade, the brown angel lifted his weapon over his head, bringing it down with maximum force upon the wooden barrier. It splintered with little effort.
"I prove my point. The demons could have done that without thinking." Thavron said in a lower voice, a tone that lost most of its rage but still was solemn. When he turned back around, however, the sharpened tip of a longsword pressed lightly against his throat. Captain Gaines had a relatively blank but still hatred-filled look on his face. "I warned you, angel." Thavron furrowed his eyebrows, pushed the sword aside with Integrity, and looked towards Zenith. "Follow me, Archangel Meria." With that, Thavron folded his wings and stepped through the hole and into the demons' lair.
