Thoril Fletcher - November 20, 2006 04:32 AM (GMT)
Thoril wandered into the tall grass, it was tall but Thoril really wanted somewhere to relax, and if he wanted to be undisturbed, this would be the place for it. He looked around, and then up, noticing that the sun was very bright. Thoril continued saring at the sun, but his mind was somewhere else... Back at the farm.. Where he would play with Chicken and Bella... Too bad they were dead... As far as Thoril knew anyways. Thoril even missed Goosendale... And that was hard. Thoril remembered the animals, his parents, the milk cooling his hot throat, the eggs, filling his empty stomach, the sun burning his dry eyes... Wait a second! The sun burning his eyes? Suddenly Thoril remembered that he was staring at the sun.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow!!! Sun hot!" Thoril yelled. He pulled out his journal, he noticed he didn't have anything to write with... Great... This'll be fun... He thought.

As Thoril moved further through the grass, he noticed it was getting hard to see, or move for that matter. He drew his sword. "Argh!!" He yelled, swinging it his hardest, trying to chop through the grass, machete style. It wasn't working so well though.

Finally Thoril got to a small grassless patch and layed down. Finally, peace and quiet. Thoril thought, slowly starting to get comfortable. He was starting to fall asleep, just what he wanted.

"Ahhhhhhh!!! Help!!!!!!!!" Someone shrieked. It sounded like a woman in trouble... "Great," Thoril yelled.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!!!" Thoril yelled, trying to navigate through the tall grass. "Please! Yell again!" Thoril yelled.

"Eeeeekkk!!!!" The woman yelled. Perfect... Thoril thought, he was almost there. He burst through the grass into another clearing, where a woman was standing, she was wearing a red dress and had no weapons what so ever, obviously she couldn't defend herself. She had blonde hair and brown eyes. The monster scaring her was a mere goblin, about 4 feet tall, dressed in strange clothing and holding a jagged knife to her knife... Not good.

Thoril drew his longsword. "Try it, demon." Thoril said coldly staring at the goblin. It backed away from the woman, dropping the knife. Thoril kicked it into the grass and pointed his own sword at the goblin's chest. It looked scared.

Pushing her way slowly through the tall grass that reached over her head, Jess heard a scream, a woman’s scream. Wandering over slowly in the direction of the sound, the half-elf heard another person say something in a cold voice. She couldn't quite make out what he said, but she could hear his footsteps, slow and steady as he moved towards another being.
Jess crouched down in the grass as she reached the edge of the clearing, watching the three figures in the clearing. One was a small goblin, dagger in hand. He was facing off against a tall human with blonde hair. He held a longsword in his hand and had a dangerous expression on his face.
A woman stood off to the side, she had hair not unlike Jess's own, long straight and blonde, but she looked scared and was watching the battle before her with fear in her eyes. As Jess turned back to the man and the goblin, she noticed that the goblin had dropped his dagger and was slowly backing away, trying desperately to shield himself.
The small half-elf scanned the clearing. The man had that goblin covered, but most goblins travelled in pairs or groups, so where were the others? Just as she had suspected, three of the goblins friends were attempting to creep up behind the man with the sword, their weapons raised, and Jess took this as her cue to act.

She darted out from the tall grass, a dagger in each hand, and tackled the closest goblin head on. They sprawled in the dust, weapons flashing until Jess managed to pin the goblin down and stab it twice in the chest. She stood, brushing the dust off her green silk dress and turned back to her opponents. By now the remaining goblins were paying attention to this new threat and were slowly driving her back with clubs and daggers.
After a couple of steps backwards, Jess found herself next to the man with he sword and she reasoned that this would be a good a place as any to make a stand.
'Interesting place for a skirmish.' she smiled to the man, her weapons aimed at the goblins before her.
