Naias arose from the water, fish in hand and not wet dispite having been under water. Gills along her neck flattened and she took a moment sucking in air and getting use to the transition. Once she felt adapted, she extended a bladed fin on her arm and sliced open the fish, sitting on the shore to eat it. She noticed there was another being near by but she ignored it and went about eating the meat from her catch. Every once in a while, she glanced up at the creature but said nothing. When she was done, she decided to discover who this creature was, confident that she could defend herself if need be. Naias walked up to him and squated. "Hello?"

(k sorry ill use a spell checker)
Alterum glances up and saw a tall slender figure "hi" he replied and stood up "was i seeing things or did you just come out of the water" he thought then he figured he might as well know "are you a water goddess or something?" he asked
as he wandered over to the water.

Naias tilted her head to the side. "No. I am no goddess. Why ask?" Naias resolved to try and practise her common because this was slightly frustrating. She tried to think of any word in common she may have misinterpertated(sp?) for goddess but could not think of one. She wondered why anyone would mistake her for such. Perhaps it was meant as a compliment? She did not understand. "Have I done something odd?" She lifted her eyebrow as he moved towards the water and stood. She was begining to think there was something wrong this this land person.

"no, its just that i have never seen anyone well... be able to stay in water for so long." he replied. he thought of what else she could be after pondering "are you part of a water civilization?" Alterum wondered out loud while getting up and walking to the edge of the ocean. i wonder what it is like down there he thought. "i might go down to the ocean bed one day as i dont breathe." he said with a hit of happiness in his voice.
Naias - June 28, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
"I am. A human could not hold her breath for as long as I have. I have not touched land for three weeks." There was a slight hint of pride in her voice since she was never quite able to hide her feelings towards land people. What kind of race could only stay above the water, never feeling the calming lap of the ocean's waves? She shifted awkwardly, starting to feel annoyed by the sun drying out her skin. It was always hard for her to make the transition from water to land. When she returned home, she did not think she would be able to manage another trip for a while. Naias' people lived most of their lives under the sea but they still had to come to land. Their bodies still needed friut and the sun to make vitamins and their children had to be born on land. It was often uncomfortable to stay in the drying air and sun for extended periods, but it was necissary and so they lived with it. "Who are you?" She didn't recall being told who he was and hope she hadn't meerly forgotten(sp?).

Alterum look down-wards to his right he tried to think of a answer. "just a passing adventurer." he replied as he looked back up hoping that she would not ask anymore questions. "whats you name?" He asked.
