Findecano - November 15, 2006 12:58 AM (GMT)
(( meh, I haven't RPed in like forever, so prepare for a crappy post ))
The moon hid under the clouds, while the black wind howled. The wind was cold and the citizens of Lómëdor were slowly closing the doors of their houses while the lights of the candles were slowly fading away. A shadow was standing on the docks. And looking at a dark alley, like it was waiting for someone. The moon revelaed it's face. The creature turned it's head, and looked at the moon. It's head looked like a dragon one, the scales on his body where shining on the moonlight. The creature has crossed it's arms, 'causing fins on it's hands to crumple. The creature frowned. It was obviously waiting for someone. It's whole body was covered with blue scales. The creature had a muscular humanoid torso and it's lower body like a snake. It looked like the creature was part dragon, part human and part snake. These creatures are called nagas.
Dwelling in the depths of Palanen Ocean, nagas rarely come out on the land. But this one has. The creature's name was Findecano. Water was dripping of his back, and on the place where he was standing, was a big puddle of water. Findecano looked at the moon once again, his piercing green eyes were now looking at a house from which you could hear loud music. Apparently, that house was actually some pub which name couldn't be pronounced. The house was situated in the most crime-ridden part of the city, as he has heard. He didn't care. Findecano was only here 'cause he made a bussiness deal with some thief. The thief will sell him some weapons and items. They were supposed to meet in the port Adúnë. But Findecano recently got a note that they'll meet near Drital Qu'ellar Pub. Around him where some old, small houses. Completely different scenery from Bar-nu-nen's. He missed his hometown, but he was sent by his father to travel all around Arda. His father's dying wish. He had to fulfill it. In Lómëdor he got by following a ship.
The wind howled again. And a dry leaf fell in front of Findecano. He looked at it, thinking to himself 'You are traveling too, my little fella'...who knows where the wind is going to take you..' The wind blew hard this time. The leaf flew in the air, swirling and dancing on the wind. Findecano wasn't looking at the leaf anymore. He was looking in the shadow which was walking in the dark alley. The shadow looked at Findecano and waved. Findecano sighed, and crawled to the thief. They were now in some dark abandoned alley, the houses looked very old, no one has lived in them for a long time. There was little possibility that someone will come, this alley was avoided by the citizens, figures wondering, which would be glad to kill just to satisfy their needs. The thief was short with brown messy hair, and brown eyes. The thief had a smile on his face, a sign that this night was quite successful.
Findecano frowned, and then said with his deep voice "You're late, human." you could sense disgust when he said that. The thief giggled and smirked, looking at Findecano "Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. Now shall we do our bussiness or not?" The thief looked at Findecano, but when he saw his angry look he just said "Okay, okay..." and started looking in his backpack for stolen goods. Findecano said earlier that he was interested in some weapons, so thief took out a Scmitar and showed it to him. Findecano took the weapon, and he liked it immediatly. It wasn't heavy at all, but still deathly. "I'll buy this one, thief. Now, show me some of your spell books." the thief turned around, with a grin on his face, and started taking out some old books, when he found a general spell book in quite good condition. In the meantime, Findecano was playing with his new weapon when he suddenly grinned while looking at the thief. When the thief turned around holding the book, Findecano pointed his scmitar in thief's heart and smiled to him. The thief shivered and started shaking. "Relax, boy. Lesson number one, never turn your back to a customer with a weapon. Now, give that general spell book, and all money that you have." Findecano was smiling, showing his sharp teeth to the thief. Findecano put scmitar in it's sheath's and tied it on a belt, he tied the spell book too. He grinned to the thief evily and said to him, with a calm voice "Com' on now. I have a present for you." They walked to the dock, where Findecano was standing before. Findecano grinned once again to the thief and said "I wonder if you're a good swimmer." and then he threw him and his bag into the water. The thief started yelling and screaming, trying to catch all the books and items. Meanwhile, Findecano dissapeared in the shadow.
The door closed after a figure came into the room. The people in there were talking about everything, how many fishes have they caught today, how their wives where mad at them again and so on. Findecano frowned again. Findecano is actually almost always frowning. He never had a good opinion about humans. He walked in some pub which was called "Wilwarin". He entered the pub and sat by a table near the fireplace, it was the only available table at the moment. Soon, a waitress came to ask him what will he drink. Findecano was busy observing humans "Filthy humans." Findecano was, you guessed, frowning. The waitress asked him again. Findecano looked at her and said, trying to sound pleasant "Give me that...how do you call it...beer, Yes that's the little devil." The waitress nodded and left to get him a beer. Findecano was thinking were he could go next. Will he stay in this city, or continue travelling? He has equipment needed for the trip, so he could continue travelling. But this seemed like a fine city, so he decided he'll stay a few days longer. He sat in a more comfortable positon and started listening to human stories. A fisherman was telling a story about Kraken. That Kraken destroyed his ship. Findecano just rolled his eyes.
And as the black wind howled, and moon hidding it's face behind the clouds. Poor thief was shivering on the docks, trying to dry his books. "Damn that snake-man!" he mumbled to himself.
(( Oh, it actually came out quite nice, me satisfied...sorry if there are some grammar mistakes...first, english isn't my first language...second it is two o'clock past midnight..third, I have a bad spelling day...
[Edit:] Not counting the BB Code and this OCC talk, this post has 1117 words *dances* woot, this is one of the most biggest posts I have written =p [/edit] ))
Crow - November 16, 2006 01:22 AM (GMT)
((Holy crap, this will not be as long as your post, but whatever, here we go...))
Crow was sitting in the Pub, hood drawn, hoping no one would realize his pumpkin head, when a strange creature walked in... Well, slithered in, actually. A strange creature that Crow had never seen before, it was a male by the looks of it, but Crow wasn't too sure about snake anatomy. Clearly this... Thing was trying to get out of the cold wind, but he looked like he belonged in the water anyway... Crow studdied the snake-man. He was blue for one, a feature that was hard to miss, and he had long spines and fins, covering his entire body, it looked very menacing, actually. His face resembled that of a dragon, something Crow had never seen himself, only in pictures. He also had whisker like things on his face, Crow laughed, because they resemble a funny moustache. He was devilishly tall, too, had to be near seven feet tall, and that wasn't even counting the long tail that didn't add to his height. He was built like an ogre too (not that ugly, though), big, muscular, intimidating to look at. Crow knew if this creature ever spoke to him, he would hold his mouthy remarks, because even a hint of sarcasm might trigger this snake-man to pound Crow into the ground like a stake.
Crow decided he would further examine this creature, in conversation. Although he did not want to anger it. But it was impossible not to be fascinated by this creature, even other people in the bar were staring at him.
Crow heard the Snake-Man mutter something in a hissing language that he did not understand. He then looked up at the waitress and surprised Crow by speaking in english. Give me that...how do you call it...beer, Yes that's the little devil." He said. The waitress quickly went back to get the creature his drink, she looked scared.
Crow picked him self up, out of his chair, and walked over to the creature. Many people watched Crow, astonished that he would talk to the creepy misfit thing. Crow walked over to the table that the snake was sitting at. Crow sat down, across from him, hoping that he wouldn't mind.
"Hello," Crow said, "I'm Crow, what's your name?" Crow said, offering a green hand to the man, offering it as if to shake.
((Not as long as ours, but I tried, :) ))
Istonania Mando - November 16, 2006 03:03 AM (GMT)
The pub was filled with people of all types. They were laughing, flirting and having a good time as they drunk there sorrows away. Many of them were humans, quite young and immature. A few elves sat at a table, looking at the drunken civilians with disgust. They sipped there cocktails and boasted about there superior skills and good looks.
They will get drunk soon enough and when they do, it will be hilarious. A drunk elf isn't a pretty elf, I've had experience.
The bartender was a very shot and skinny man who's chin was covered in stubble. His long blonde hair was tied back and his expensive clothing made him look like royalty. He was the bartender of the most popular pub in Lomedor. A female sat at the bar, drinking a glass of bourbon. She had dark skin and wore black clothing. A look of disgust appeared on her face as Istonania approached.
She mustn’t like elves very much.
He smiled as he sat down next to her. She immediately stood up and left the bar, refusing to look back and give the elf a chance.
"Don't worry, she gives everyone dirty looks."
The bartender smiled at Istonania. He seemed friendly but a little bit arrogant.
"I'm guessing you want something expensive and strong. Your friends over there seem to enjoy a bit of vodka mixed with anything that’s over ten gold crowns."
Istonania laughed. The elfish group were already starting to get a bit loud and by the end of the night, every single person in this bar would know the names of them all.
"Can you do me a favour? Give them non-alcoholic beverages; they don't deserve to be humiliated in front of all these people. And I'll have a glass full of rum please."
The bartender smiled as he filled up a glass and gave it to Istonania.
"I like you elf. I'll give them grape juice with just a bit of vodka. It will take twenty glassfuls to make them worse than they are now."
The elf lifted his glass to his lips and took a sip. This was the first time in fifty years. He had forgotten the taste of alcohol and it made his whole body shiver with delight.
"My name is Lopen and I am the joint owner of this marvellous pub."
Istonania took another sip of the refreshing liquid and replied.
"Istonania. I am pleased to meet one such as yourself."
Istonania looked over to the musicians as they started playing a very strange type of music. The band was filled with all sorts of pipes. Some of them were large with a very low sound and some of them were smaller and made a high-pitched noise. The musicians were all dwarves, coming all the way from the Erod Annon Mountains to get a bit of money. They seemed uncomfortable for they weren't used to being above ground for long periods let alone being around other people. Either way, the music was amazing.
The doors suddenly opened as something strange walked in. The dwarven music suddenly stopped and people just stared at the beast. Of course, people of all types were welcome in Wilwarin but no one had seen something like that. Istonania couldn't say he'd seen many either. He saw many lizard men in his travels but not many water nagas. No one was gain enough to go near him, except a waitress who was told to do so or be fired. The Naga sat down quite uncomfortably. Wilwarin doesn't accommodate for nagas very often, but it made do with what it had.
"Give me that...how do you call it...beer, yes that's the little devil."
The waitress immediately left and arrived with a beer for the creature. He sipped the beer in a strange way. It obviously wasn't used to drinking from a glass. The music started again and people started talking again. They figured that the Naga wasn't aggressive and they had nothing to worry about. Still, they looked over at the beast from time to time. Istonania finished his rum, taking a big breath in and accidentally letting out a small burp. The elves were currently drinking there grape juice, thinking that it was an expensive drink made by the angels of the Sanctuary.
"Would you like another drink sir?"
Istonania was about to reply with a positive answer when he saw a strange man walk over to the Naga and begin to talk.
Is that a man?
He looked strange. His hood was covering his head and a long cloak covered the rest of his body. His head appeared to be of a strange shape and he walked like he wasn't walking at all. Istonania decided to listen, ignoring Lopens question.
"Hello, I'm Crow. What's your name?"
The mans voice was strange, like some sort of spirit. The Naga seemed shocked that anyone would talk to him and so was Istonania. Crow seemed to be quite strange and the elf wanted to know more. He decided to listen for both of them were quite interesting.
"I'll just have a beer thanks."
This will be a long night.
(OOC: Seeing as Crows text is the same colour as mine, I'll use yellow for his so we can tell the difference. This'll be fun)
Crow - November 16, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
(( That's okay, I'll make my text color also yellow, it'll make more sense that way :) ))
Not waiting for a handshake from the serpent-being, Crow pulled his hand away, noticing something strange. He looked around and noticed the eyes of an elf man was apon him. Crow glared at the elf.
"Hold your answer," Crow told the Naga. He looked at the elf and walked towards him. "Can I help you with something?" Crow asked the man. "Were you... Intrigued by my... Politeness? Do you think that I'm strange for talking to him-er- I think it's him..? Do you not trust me beacause my body is hidden?" Crow asked, letting his temper and dislike of others get the better of him (Crow was usually an antisocial man).
"I'll remove my cloak, so you can see the monstrosity that I really am," He pulled aside his cloak, and was completely naked underneath, but being a plant-ish thing, he had... I suppose one could say, nothing of interest. Well, except for the fact that his body seemed to be made of pumpkin stems, woven together, and his head was a pumpkin. "Now can you quit staring??!" Crow said, slightly more calm, but still everyone was staring at him.
Crow glared at the elf, "Sorry about that... I just... Don't like people staring at me, I apologize for the outburst..." Crow finished, but was still glaring at the elf with disgust. Some people looked away now, mostly the ones hoping for a fight.
Istonania Mando - November 16, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
Lopen placed the beer infront of him and looked towards the Naga.
"Why do you think he's here? It’s not good for business if we have some intimidating scaly monster in here but no one would dare ask it to leave. What do you think I should do?"
Istonania continued to stare at the strange man. Unfortunately, he saw the elf looking and started towards him. Istonania placed one hand near his long sword in case the man gets hostile. The weapon was in its sheath, clearly visible. It was legal to own a weapon in Arda so Istonania thought there was no point in hiding it.
"Can I help you with something? Were you... Intrigued by my... Politeness? Do you think that I'm strange for talking to him-er- I think it's him..? Do you not trust me because my body is hidden?"
Istonania was about to answer but before he could say anything, Crow began talking again.
"I'll remove my cloak, so you can see the monstrosity that I really am."
It was horrifying. The whole room gasped and Lopen dropped a glass he was cleaning, making a loud smash as it hit the stone floor. No one could speak, the Dwarves picked up there horns and left. They shook there heads, wondering why they came to the surface.
"We shouldn't have come here Horst; surface dwellers are stranger than I imagined."
They small stocky figures left the building, slamming the door behind them as they left.
"Now can you quit staring??!"
Almost half the people in the pub decided to leave. Some stumbled out, talking to themselves and laughing as they ran into the door.
"Help me, the freaksh goina kill ush!"
The people that decided to stay whispered amongst themselves about the strange figures that had come to the best pub on the continent of Ea. The rowdy elves continued to stare, wondering why they were in the room with a pumpkin man.
"Sorry about that... I just... Don't like people staring at me, I apologize for the outburst..."
"Apology not accepted! You just drove out half my customers. If you and the scaly thing don't get out of my pub, I'll call the city guard and have you both thrown in jail!"
Lopen was fuming. He looked at the Naga and Pumpkin spirit with disgust, waiting for there reply. Istonania just observed the Pumpkin as it stood. The spirit intrigued him, never seeing one like it in his whole life. He had seen many spirits before, but none like the one that stood infront of him.
"Come with me spirit, you don't want any trouble. You shouldn't have revealed your identity. If we go now, you might be able to get out of the city before you get caught."
The elf looked over towards the Naga. It was still sitting down, looking over at the pumpkin spirit with curiosity.
"Water Naga, you must come with us. You will also be accused."
"You better get them out of here! Someone might have already alerted the guard. I never want to see any of you in here again, do you here me!"
Istonania nodded, smiling at the bartender. Lopen smiled back, saluting as he did so.
"Are you two coming or not? I'd advise you to take my advice."
Thoril Fletcher - November 16, 2006 05:17 AM (GMT)
Practically half of the people in the inn had left. Most of them freaked out or disgusted by Crow's body.
"Help me, the freaksh goina kill ush!" Someone screamed, arousing Crow's temper once again. He just coldly glared at the elf.
"Now you happy?" Crow muttered
Already, half the people had left, and the people who remained continued to hushedly talk with each other, scared that Crow would have another rage on them.
"Apology not accepted!" The owner said in response to Crow's last question "You just drove out half my customers. If you and the scaly thing don't get out of my pub, I'll call the city guard and have you both thrown in jail!"
"Shut up," Crow muttered, drawing his scimitar. "I wasn't talking to you"
The owner was clearly furious, which did cause Crow a bit of pleasure, but Crow did not like the way he looked at him andthe snake-man. But the elf just stared at Crow, fascinated by him. Why did everyone always look at him like that?!
"Come with me spirit, you don't want any trouble. You shouldn't have revealed your identity. If we go now, you might be able to get out of the city before you get caught." The elf said.
The elf shifted his gaze to the snake-man. He was still just sitting over there, staring at Crow with the same vacant look that the elf was giving him.
"Water Naga, you must come with us. You will also be accused." The elf spoke to the snaked thing.
So that's what that thing was called!! A naga!
"You better get them out of here! Someone might have already alerted the guard. I never want to see any of you in here again, do you here me!" The owner said, his disgust suddenly changing into wory.
The elf nodded his head, smiling at the disgusting man. Then the bartender smiled back, giving the elf a sloppy salute. Crow rolled his eyes and in reply to the owner saying, "I never want to see any of you in here again, do you here me", Crow said, smirking, "Don't worry, chief, I'll be back,"
"Are you two coming or not? I'd advise you to take my advice." The elf said to the two impatiently.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!" Crow said, winking at the bartender.
He started to follow the elf, then turned aroundand noticed that the naga still hadn't moved. "Come on Naga! Let's go!" He said to the naga.
((Edit: Crap!! Wrong charry!!!)
Findecano - November 16, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
(( So many posts XD ))
Findecano was occupied listening human stories. Most of them were fairytales, but some fellow humans still believed that happend. Piercing green eyes were looking at almost every person in the pub. A young man in the corner. He was obviously drunk, his hands was shaking, he couldn't stop hiccuping and he was all red in his face. A smile appeared on Findecano's face while he was looking at him. The young man saw the smile, so he raised his glass and nodded to Findecano. Findecano laughed, the young man spilled all the vodka he was drinking.
"Sir? Here is your beer..." a kind, sweet voice said. A young woman was standing in front of him. She was about 20 years old, with blonde hair and warm blue eyes. Wanting to be polite, she tryed to make a smile appear on her face. But, she was either tired or scared. Findecano smiled to her and said, kindly. "Thank you my dear." She just nodded and walked away.
The pub was full that night. There were no available tables and the owner seemed quite happy. With a smile on it's face, the owner was talking to an elf. The elf had blue eyes, silver hair and seemed quite skinny. Findecano never underestimated his enemies, nor friends and he believed that this elf was probably very quick. Due to his weight and to all the fins he had, Findecano never was agile. But his thick blue scales and his high endurance were filling this imperfection. Being the first city that he visited, Findecano enjoyed observing behaviour of humans. He saw one or two before he left Bar-nu-nen and they weren't in such good memory. They tricked him and ran away before he noticed. Due to that incident, Findecano haven't had a good opinion about humans. Findecano took a sip of his beer, he wasn't used to drink out of glasses so he drank it in a funny way.
A skinny, but quite tall figure approched Findecano. Glancing to see who is it, and putting his hand on his scmitar Findecano waited for the figure to speak. A simple question was asked by this funny looking thing. Findecano didn't know what it is. It looked human to him, but it looked like a plant and a ghost too. He just wanted to say something, when the thing glared to the elf, the one which was talking to the owner. He walked over to the elf and started talking something in an angry tone. Findecano couldn't understand what they were talking about, he haven't had enough time to master human-tongue. Suddenly, the thing removed his cloak and everybody could see what he really is. He was a pumpkin which was brought to life, by Findecano's opinion. Findecano tryed to suppress the laughter. But to the other people in the pub it wasn't so funny. Some of them were screaming and yelling, trying to get out. They ran out of the pub slamming the doors as they left.
The pumpkin man apologized to the owner and to the elf, but the owner was furious. Yelling that the pumpkin man drove his customers away and threating that he will call the guards. Frowning, Findecano stood up and crawled to the owner. In his deep and harsh voice he said to the owner "Problems?" he gazed to the elf and was still frowning. The owner advised the elf to take them out of here, before they get into troubles. Findecano frowned and said to the elf. "Let's go." he gave an angry look at the pumpkin man and slithered to the doors. While opening the doors he muttered to the elf. "I'll be waiting for you outside." he looked at the owner and threw a coin to him. He glanced to the pumpkin man and the elf as he dissapeared, closing the doors with his left hand.
Istonania Mando - November 17, 2006 05:26 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!"
The pumpkin spirit looked amused, as though he didn't quite understand how serious a situation they were in. Humans judge things by appearance and they would probably kill the spirit on sight. It was the same case with the Naga, its massive bulk and shiny scales making him look dangerous and chaotic.
"Come on Naga! Let's go!"
The Naga stood up and proceeded towards the door. He seemed to be quite calm as well, as though he could handle anything.
"Let's go."
He frowned, gave the pumpkin man a dirty look, and opened the door.
"I'll be waiting for you outside."
He then threw a coin at the owner and left.
"We have to go now, time is of the essence. Something is not right..."
Istonania looked at the pumpkin spirit. The Wilwarin pub was situated on the busiest street in Arda! Guards were patrolling night and day and they would have sensed there was something wrong with all those people leaving the large building, that is if they weren't told by some drunken lout. Maybe the elf was over reacting, but maybe he wasn't.
Istonania left in a hurry. There were quite a few people standing around, including some drunken people who had left the pub earlier. The Dwarves could still be seen hobbling away with there heavy instruments.
I don't know where they're going to go at this time of night.
The Naga was still outside, waiting for them. He looked quite uninterested in the whole matter.
"Dey tried to kell ush. Zose things by the doorsh. They'll make ush eat dirtsh and shtab ush with there weaponsh. Shave us!"
Istonanias' heart dropped. The drunken man was talking to a member of the Lomedor guard. He wore a chain mail cuirass with a steel long sword strapped to his belt. A look of curiosity and fear appeared on his face. He looked at the three figures standing by the door of Wilwarin. A Water Naga, Pumpkin spirit and an elf were looking quite guilty as they prepared to leave.
"We must go. I don't know what else to do other than trust my gut feeling. We must leave, now!"
Istonania didn't know why he was so petrified of the guard. They probably wouldn't do anything in fear of there lives and there was no reason to arrest or hurt them. The elf sensed something bad was going to happen and it wasn't something to do with the law. He had felt it ever since the Pumpkin Spirit revealed his identity and the feeling wouldn't leave him alone. He looked at the Naga then at Crow. By the end of the night, the three of them would learn, fight, and become enemies of someone or something. He could feel it.
(OOC: If you guys have ideas of where you wanna go with this either pm me or just post away! I don't care how or what happens, but I do want it to be fun and of good quality (I have pretty low standards.) I had an awesome idea where I could incorporate one of my inactive alt accounts but I'm not gunna tell you what that idea is ^_^)
Findecano - November 19, 2006 01:11 PM (GMT)
As Findecano went outside, a cold breeze blew into his face. It was cold outside, even tough it wasn't very disturbing to him. He crossed his arms, making his fins to crumple again. He waited there, leaning against the wall. On his right, there were the doors of the pub. The Wilmarin pub, situated on the bussiest street in Lomedor, was full with guards. They were patrolling day and night, unfortunately for our little group. The moon was still shining brightly and the black wind howled throught the night. Findecano frowned, looking at the guards. There were three of them, situated near Findecano. One wore a chain mail cuirass and had a long sword strapped to his belt. 'This must be their leader or something...others aren't equipped that good.' Findecano thought looking at other guards. They wore leather armors and daggers strapped to their belts.
The pumpkin man and the elf finally came out. Findecano smiled to them. He said to them, with his deep voice "Prepare for a party." He glanced at the moon, which was hiding under the clouds again. 'This is not a good sign.' he frowned and looked at the elf. The elf looked petrified, staring at the guard with a cuirass. Findecano looked at the guard, and saw a man talking to him.
"..by the doorsh. They'll make ush eat dirtsh and shtab ush with there weaponsh. Shave us!"
Findecano heard just a part of what the man was saying. He frowned, not understanding what he said. He learned human language recently and it was difficult to him if someone talked in a strange way than him. After few moments, he figured out what did the man said. Findecano looked at the elf again and tryed to move him, he pushed him gently, not wanting to push him to hard or something. "Hey, little fella'? Let's go." The elf just stood there. Like he was petrified. He looked at the pumpkin man and then at Findecano. But his green eyes were placed on the guard which was approching. He had an evil grin on his face. Findecano smiled to he guard, slowly putting his hand on his Scmitar. 'This is gonna be fun.'
(( Sorry for the shortness, I really am sleepy and haven't got any inspiration at the moment. ))
