The admins have been pondering over Christmas lately, and I just came up with an idea that we can start working on together as a community. I have set a goal for Arda that I'd like to reach by Christmas or the New Year. What is the goal, you ask? Read the topic title! I'd like to see the board's post total reach 100,000 posts by the holiday season. ^_^

So, without spamming excessively ( :p) I am pretty sure that we can realistically reach our goal. The board always gets at least 1,000 new posts every week, and on the most active of weeks we can get about 2 and a half times as many. So we have about 7 weeks to reach our goal. We currently have 83,200-ish posts. That means that if we can make over 350 posts combined each day, which we can easily do if everyone participates in reaching the goal, we should make it! :w00t:

If we reach our goal, everyone that posts in the announcement I'll make once we reach our goal will get something special. If we don't make the goal, there will be different, smaller surprises given out instead, depending on just how close we get.

So, everyone get into the holiday mood and RP your little hearts out, it's for everyone's benefit!

I know we did an easter egg hunt on easter so yea we do just depends on the holiday.

Sweet idea, Loth! I think we can do it, arda has over 1000 users (although some aren't active :( ), so if everyone works for it, we can do it!

The Easter egg hunt was OOC though, there is no Easter in Arda. The holidays that everyone knows in real life do not exist in Arda, though we are working on making IC holidays that happen around the same time real life holidays do. So far, Arda IC-ly only has the obvious New Year celebration for the winter holiday season, but I am hoping to produce details on IC holidays. They all have to have a reason for existing and stuff, and I'm short on time during school, so who knows when I'll actually get that done. :p

I haven't seen posting this frequent since I first arrived at Arda almost a year ago.

You must be confused, because this past June and July were the months where Arda had more activity that its ever had in its entire history, by a phenomenally large margin. The board was at an all time low a year ago when you registered. :poke: We'd make our goal a lot faster if our activity bumped back up to what it was this summer.

Sounds fun ^.^ I rp a lot myself, so I'll have to try and get a few more threads going and active to help reach the goal.

I see. I suppose that was just me and my friends posting three or four word posts so much that the board seemed so much more active. As for the summer, I was gone for about half of my month-long summer break, so I only got a taste of that. Thanks for clearing up my error's on Arda's History, though ^_^ .

Remember, this competition already started, and every day is vital to reaching our goal. One way to get more RPing going on is to invite friends to join the site, especially friends that you know online that are already into RPing. Maybe PMing / e-mailing other Arda members that you haven't seen posting much to invite them to RP could help too. ^_^

The best way to get people to join your topics is to post in the RP Requests and Plotting forum, letting people know you have an open topic and that everyone is invited. You should also remember to include a link to your RP if you start a topic there, to make it easy to find.

Something else that helps sometimes is to go chat in the CBox, if there are people online, they are often also in the CBox, and you can invite them to RP there. ^_^
