Title: Starry Skies
Aleythia - November 5, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
Aleythia walked by the moon light throught the trees. She heard the rustle of little creatures running through the bushes. She took in the salty smell of the air around her. She could hear the trickle of water up ahead. She quickened her pace until she saw the edge of a lake. She smiled and walked along the shore. She sat on a boulder and let her feet dangle in the icy cold water. She looked up at the sky to see it glittered with millions of stars. The night was quiet and peaceful as a soft breeze added to the cold. Aleythia pulled her feet out of the water and sighed as she glanced at the beautiful moon with the stars dancing around it.
Myuuri - November 5, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
It didn't seem that long ago since Myuuri had left the falls but, gazing up at the starry, moonlit sky now above her, it had to have been a fair amount of time since then. Adding proof to that were that her legs were getting tired...she needed to get some rest soon.
Then, finally coming out of the slightly wooded area, she looked upon the beautiful form of Lake Aelin, a somewhat familiar place to her here in Arda, though she could tell immediately from a scent nearby that someone else was here as well, probably getting here just before her. Looking around, she saw an elven girl, the second she'd seen that day, sitting on a small boulder near the water's edge, and walked over to her, lute hanging at her side.
"Hey...don't suppose you'd mind some company? My legs are starting to get tired, so I could really use the stop..." she said.
Muffins - November 5, 2006 04:24 PM (GMT)
(hope you guys dont mind if i join in)
Muffins flew over a couple of trees. He looked up at the sky. He loved the night. Especialy the moon. It was bright and wonderfull. It lit the way since it was dark. He looked at the stars. He never new why humans make wishes on them. They never work but thats humans.
His wings were getting tired so he landed next to a lake. He looked around to see if anyone was there. He didnt see anyone but it was dark. So he used his Detect Evil spell. He was glad that there wasnt anything evil around him because it ment he can rest. Anyone evil would attack him especially since he is an angel.
He put his cloak and his Sword down and his long sword down next to a tree. With only his bottom part covered and his chest bear he jumped into the Lake making a big splash. He stuck his head out of the lake and wispered to himself "crap". He was sure someone or thing could have heard it. He just hoped they didnt.
Aleythia - November 5, 2006 10:40 PM (GMT)
Aleythia's eyelids were getting heavier as she stared into the night sky. A voice near her startled her. She looked in the direction of the voice and saw a cat creature there. "No I don't mind. It would be nice to have someone to talk to." Alethia saw the lute at the girl's side. She was about to ask about it when she heard a splash in the distance. "Did you hear that?" Aleythia asked slowly reaching for her bow.
Myuuri - November 6, 2006 03:06 PM (GMT)
"No I don't mind. It would be nice to have someone to talk to," the girl said, and Myuuri smiled pleasantly, nodding. Then, hearing a splash from over in the lake, she looked quickly over to it. "Did you hear that?"
"Yeah...but I don't think it's anything to worry about, I can't feel any evil from it," she said, using her own ability to detect evil, which had come rather in handy not long ago in Arda when she'd been attacked, though fortunately saved. "I wonder what it is? Must be something that flies, I'd think..."
Roleun - November 6, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
Roleun was walking along the shore of Lake Aelin, enjoying the cold water on his bare feet and the light of the full moon. His familiar, Dyrim, was perched on his shoulder, and he could feel the same feeling of peacefulness emanating from him. He smiled at his companion and continued, staring up into the heavens and daydreaming of reaching the moon, and what it would be like to walk upon it. He couldn't fly that far up, for it got terribly cold and difficult to breathe up high. He realized that he had brought his violin with him, and he smiled. This violin had summoned Dyrim somehow, and he wondered what would happen if he played it again, though he doubted anything special would happen. Getting Dyrim was a once in a lifetime opportunity, he knew, and something like that was so rare that it probably wouldn't happen to anyone again in his lifetime. He smiled and shook silver hair out of his eyes. He walked away from the shoreline and sat on a small rock that reached his knee and was flat on the top. Perfect... He thought to himself, sitting on it. Dyrim cooed softly and flew into a nearby tree, watching him with a wary eye. Roleun chuckled to himself as he got out his violin, tested it to make sure it was in tune, and played a soft chord, the major F, D and B flat chord. Satisfied, he began to play a song that was familiar to him from his mother. Softly, the notes rang out as he sang:
"Faith shines in your eyes tonight...
Have I ever looked at faith right?
Peace pass from your hands tonight...
If I've ever held peace tight...
Loyalty cushions your steps tonight...
Have I ever stood for loyalty right?
Patience keeps your pace tonight.
If I've ever kept patience's time...
A seed may never be known
Where a flower never grows.
The fragrance always remains
In the hand that gives the rose.
Charity lays on your table tonight,
Have I ever tasted charity right?
Hope lights up your halls tonight
If I've ever stood in hope's bright light...
Courage carry your voice tonight,
Have I ever heard courage right?
Tolerance sit by your side tonight,
If I've ever sat tolerance alongside...
A seed may never be known
Where a flower never grows.
The fragrance always remains
In the hand that gives the rose.
Forgiveness floods your house tonight...
Have I ever bathed in forgiveness right?
Freedom watches your door tonight...
If I've ever slept behind freedom's might.
A seed may never be known
Where a flower never grows.
The fragrance always remains
In the hand that gives the rose..."
Aleythia - November 7, 2006 01:15 AM (GMT)
Aleythia relaxed after being reassured. "Must be something that flies, I'd think..." Aleythia nodded in agreement. She suddenly realized the two hadn't been properly introduced. "I'm Aleythia." She smiled. As Aleythia waited for a reply she heard something from a far off distance. A song that hung in the air. Aleythia listened until the notes stopped flowing.
Roleun - November 7, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
As the notes faded into the distance, Dyrim cooed softly. In his head, Roleun heard what Dyrim was saying. That was a good song. One of your best so far. Roleun smiled and reached up to the bird, who promptly hopped and landed on Roleun's shoulder. "Thanks, Dyrim." He replied. That's when he noticed the shapes on the east side of the lake and another in the water. He decided to go and see the humanoid figures on the side of the lake, rather than risk upsetting a large waterbird or something of the like. He packed up his violin and slung it across his back, heading toward the eastern side of the lake.
After a few minutes he arrived to a large tree that was close to the shapes. One was an elven girl, then other was a furry catlike creature. He smiled. He hadn't met one of these beings, only read about them in his beloved books. What was it that they were commonly called, though not to their faces...? Furries? I think so. He thought to himself. Best not to call her that. Dyrim responded to his thoughts. He chuckled softly and walked out of the cover of the trees, waving to the women. "Hey!" He called out. "What're you both doing out here so late?" He asked curiously. "I'm Roleun. It's nice to meet you." He said. Wow... I'm being really charismatic today... Must be the full moon. He thought fondly, looking up at the shining orb.
Muffins - November 7, 2006 04:42 AM (GMT)
Muffins swam on his back not knowing in which direction he was swimming in. He stared into the sky watching the moon as if having a quiet conversation with it. Muffins suddenly felt the water get shallow he got up. Standing he looked around and saw that he was on the other side of the lake. He streatched his white wings and flaped them. To try to get them dry. It would take awhile since there is no sun to help his wings dry. And he couldnt fly with all the extra weight the feathers had taken in by swimming in the water. He started to flap them alittle more before he heard people talking. He turned to see what it was. He couldnt see it very well so he started to walk closer to it.
The closer he got the better his focus came and he saw 3 people. One that looked like a cat and another that looked like a half-angel. He can tell because half angels are different then angels. But he still liked to talk to other angels. He also saw another person a human. He walked closer seeing that they didnt look like they would do harm he got closer and said, "Hi, I'm Muffins. Can I join you guys? I hope i'm not disturbing anything because usually if people are out this late it would be for a special meeting or something". Muffins flaped his wings again trying to get them dry.
Myuuri - November 7, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
"I'm Aleythia," the girl said, smiling.
"Pleasure to meet you, Aleythia," Myuuri responded, also smiling pleasantly. Then her ears perking up, Myuuri looked over to where she began to hear some singing, noticing a man a little ways down and away from the shoreline of the lake. After a few moments, he finished, and slung what seemed to be a violin over his back, walking over to where the two sat.
"Hey!" the man called out. "What're you both doing out here so late?" he asked out of apparent curiosity. "I'm Roleun. It's nice to meet you."
"Oh...I'm Myuuri, pleasure to meet you too. Really I just stopped here to finally get some rest," Myuuri replied. Then, her attention diverted again, she looked over further down the lake, where what seemed to be an angel was walking over to them, dripping wet, apparently having been what fell in the water earlier. With all these people arriving it seemed it was going to be an eventful night...
"Hi, I'm Muffins. Can I join you guys? I hope I'm not disturbing anything because usually if people are out this late it would be for a special meeting or something," the angel said.
Aleythia - November 7, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
Aleythia turned as she heard another voice. She saw a man coming towards them who introduced himself as Roleun. "Hello. I'm Aleythia." she replied, "I just came across this lake and decided to stay here for a little while." Aleythia looked back up at the sky.
"Hi, I'm Muffins. Can I join you guys? I hope I'm not disturbing anything because usually if people are out this late it would be for a special meeting or something," Aleythia looked down to where another voice had come from. An Angel was coming in their direction and had apparently been in the lake. "I'm Aleythia." she introduced herself to the newcomer. "It seems we have quite the party here."
Myuuri - November 13, 2006 04:13 PM (GMT)
(I suppose I'll post since nobody else seems to be)
"It seems we have quite the party here," Aleythia commented after introducing herself to the newest person to arrive, the angel that had come out of the water and introduced himself as Muffins, which was quite a strange name, though she probably couldn't be one to judge.
"Yeah, definitely," Myuuri giggled, then looked over to Muffins, the angel. "Anyway, my name's Myuuri, and you're not disturbing anything, I practically just got here myself."
Roleun - November 13, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
Roleun grinned at Myurri's words. "As have I. So, you shouldn't feel too strange." He said to Muffins. My, I've met quite a few angels in the past few days. More than in the last five years before the first in this series, at least. He thought to himself. Then he looked at Aleythia, who was examining the stars dreamily. "A love for the stars, huh? I can understand that." He confided, looking up into the night sky. "Personally, I like the moon best. Something about it just... Intrigues me."
He then looked toward Muffins, and a chuckle escaped his lips. "So you were in the water, eh? I was afraid to check, thinking it was some water beast."
Muffins - December 9, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Muffins laughed at Roleun's comment. "The splash was that loud, huh? Sorry about that i was hoping to make a silent dive.", Muffins said. Muffins looked at the sky,"The stars are nice to look at. I wonder what it would be like if you can be on a star. I mean if you can be on a moon why not a star.", Muffins said. He flaped his wings again. They were now dry and he was glad. "Has anyone been to the moon yet?", Muffins asked.
