Title: The Jester laughs again
Prodofas - October 22, 2006 05:26 PM (GMT)
Prodofas was up on the stage, wearing simple brown traveler's robes, with her flute at her side. She had assumed the form of a fair maiden, with ruby red hair. This was her appearance before she had died. Now, she was pale of skin, with green hair, numerous marks of the dead, and her eyes were hazy white orbs. Fortunately, even when she became one of the undead, she retained her shapeshifting powers, so at least she could still lead somewhat of a normal life. At least, as normal a life as a bard could have. For now, she was able to keep the audience entertained. Hopefully her undead nature would never be discovered.
"...And that's when he said, 'but Bill, I already ate the cheese!'" Most of the audience roared laughing as she bowed. "Thank you, thank you. You're too kind. I can also play a little on the flute, if any of you boys have any songs that touch your hearts, or that ya just like hearing, I'd be happy to play them for you."
Raven Silverflame - October 23, 2006 10:17 AM (GMT)
Raven walked into Wilwarin Inn, Aegis at her side. The shapeshifter had no idea what she was doing here again. Most of the times she had entered Wilwarin Inn had ended in disaster, or at least in a fight. However, it seemed like her feet led her to Wilwarin each time she arrived at Lomedor. It just seemed like the only reasonable thing to do. After all, where else would she stay? There was only one decent inn in Lomedor.
She looked up, noticing that there was a bard performing. She didn't seem that bad, noted the shapeshifter, sitting down at a table to rest. It had been a long day of traveling.
She barely looked up as Aegis growled beside her. The wolf trusted no one. It had become commonplace already. One simply learned to get used to it.
However, there was something different about the wolf's reaction this time. His growl didn't seem like his usual paranoid growl. This time, the wolf seemed to be serious.
"What's wrong, Aegis?" asked Raven, turning to the wolf, who was sniffing the air. Before the shapeshifter could stop him, he ran at the bard, fangs bared. The wolf swiftly tackled her, earning gasps from the audience.
"Aegis!" called Raven, sharply, running up to the wolf. With some difficulty, she managed to get him off the bard.
"I'm sorry," she said, extending a hand to help her up, "I don't know what came over him."
Aegis softly growled beside her, as if he was trying to control himself.

Prodofas smiled, and laughed a little. She took Raven's hand, and said warmly, "It's no problem. Most animals act this way around me. I guess it's just my luck." As she stood up, and dusted herself off. Now where did I put that flute, I wonder? Ah, here it is. She reached down and grrabbed her flute, and put it back on her waist. She then turned and look at Raven, and asked her with a kind tone, "Now, now that your up here, any songs you'd like for me to play? I know quite a few."
[OOC: sorry for the shortness. Exam coming in a few hours! AHHH :frantic: ]
Valmonah - October 24, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
Valmonah walked in the cold streets of Lomedor with curiosity. He had only been once before when he was a young boy. He had come here with his foster parents in search of some needed supplies. There were merchants set up in tent along the side of the cobble stone streets. Venders here and there offering goods that were sold no where else. People seemed alive and in a great mood. The city had not changed one bit, it was everything Valmonah remembered. Candle lights illuminate the insides of homes and indoor shops, giving them a cozy appearance. The occasional beggar passed by the big elf and asked for spare copper, but Valmonah was sad to tell them that he had nothing to give. The bums would shake their fists at him in anger and storm away, muttering curses to the big elf.
It was not a pleasant feeling at all not being able to give to the poor and hungry. Had it been his choice, Valmonah would have every mouth fed and every purse full. He understood, thought, that how unfortunate it was, there would always be people who had nothing. To him it was a part of the balance of life. There were those who were rich and had everything in abundance. While there were people who had near to nothing, having only the clothes on their back. Valmonah understood that if everyone were to be the same then the world would be chaos. Life would no longer hold it’s beauty.
There was a pub nearby that seemed a comfortable place to stop by and share a mug of ale and conversation with some one new. Valmonah dodged the way of other’s careful not to knock the down, and made his way into the pub. The door was already open as the traffic was flowing in and out of the place. The inn was obviously popular. This was good, it only heightened the chances of him meeting some one. That was all he wanted, was to meet some one and become good friends with that person.
The large man walked through the door way, afraid he would hit his head on the top of the frame. He was not tall enough to hit the top of the door frame but he some times felt like it. There were two seats open in the middle and he took the opportunity of making that his spot. One of the bar maids passed him by and asked what he would like to drink. He quickly replied with a deep voice, “I’d like an ale please.” Valmonah smiled at the old lady. He loved all sorts of people, even the evil ones, though he did believe they get what they deserve.
Just before Valmonah sat down, he noticed that everyone had their attention focused in the front of the pub. There was no singing from the usual bard, and the looks on a few faces told him that something aweful had happened. Why did he have to come at this time? Valmonah hated getting into confrontations if he did not have to be in one. He arched his neck a little and could just make out above all of the heads a dog growling at the bard. Valmonah scooted some people out of his way with his massive arms. He was a large elf and could easily move a good sized number of people with his mass.
“Is everything alright m’lady?”
