Title: Awoken from a night of drinking
Conach - October 17, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
The golden light radiating from the sun shone on the whole of Taurai woods, the rays of sunshine touching everything in it's path. It was here that a large muscular man was sleeping on a patch of grass with nothing but a travel cloak to keep him covered from the elements. The giant of a man suddenly groaned and opened his eyes, awakening from his deep slumber. He was extremley well built, his muscles buldging from his body, and his hair was ragged and untamed. The man was a barbarian and he had previously enduldged himself with a night of drinking in one of the village pubs, somehow it seemed he had made it to a forest of some sorts.
Waking up, the man ran his hands through his hair as if he were feeling velvet. He then stroked his wild beard before rising and searching around. What an odd place to actually be in, and how on Arda did he manage to stray so far from the bar to a woods in what looked like to be in the middle of no-where. Beside the man was a large drinking flask with it's lid on, so he picked it up and took a swig from it only to find it was completley empty.
The man grunted in dissapointment and shook his head, and then saw a large rabbit bound up to him. The rabbit sure looked tasty and the barbarian was sure hungry. Gripping the drinking flask in his hand, the barbarian stuck the rabit on the head and killed it. A few minutes later, the rabbit was skinned and was roasting on a stick over a nice warm fire. The barbarian tucked into his meal and when he had finished, he discarded the waste and laid down again deciding that it would be a good day to be lazy.

Flitting from branch to branch high up in the trees, a small half-elf travelled through the familiar woods, unnoticed by anyone, save the birds in the trees she landed on. One moment she was there, a small, blonde figure wrapped in a green cloak, then she was gone, moving on to the next tree. Flipping across to a tall oak, she stopped only when she found no more trees ahead. Instead she had reached the edge of a small clearing that was covered in soft grass. It was here that a large man lay, seemingly asleep.
Jess watched, fascinated, for a while before leaping across to a tree that hung right above the man. The man hadn't moved, and Jess wondered if he was in fact dead. So, to test her theory, she pulled a stem of berries out from the pocket of her green dress. She pulled one off and threw it straight at the man, hitting him right on the forehead. He didn't move, so she threw another berry, and another, finally giving up after the fifth try.
Maybe he just couldn't feel the berries hitting him. So instead, she slid calmly to the ground, landing right next to the mans head. The half-elf bent down, looking closely at his face. He didn't look dead. This was confirmed a second later when the man started to stir. Jess dashed behind a tree and watched as the man slowly stood up and tried to take a swig from a large drinking flask. It was empty and Jess heard him grunt in disappointment.
Just then, a rabbit hopped out from between to trees and the man smacked it smartly over the head, killing it instantly. He then cooked and ate the entire thing, leaving only the bones and then lay down to sleep again.
Jess started to creep out from behind the tree, but accidentally stepped right on a dead branch, which snapped with a loud crack. The blonde girl froze, hoping that he hadn't heard that but, just in case he had, she slipped behind the tree again, worried that he may have already seen her.

There was a snap of a dead twig and immediatley Cornach was on the alert, his teeth bared in a snarl. Whoever had tried to sneak up on him was going to be in for a rough shock. First Cornach picked up a rib from the rabbit carcass and gripped it as a make-shift weapon, even though it felt extremley weak and would probably snap under his immense strength. The snap came from other in the trees, trouble was that there were about a thousand trees that the intruder could be hiding behind.
There had to be some other way, some other way that Cornach could spot the intruder. Getting up, Cornach set forward and walked cautiously ready to fight if he had to. True, he had no weapon (for he was cast out of his tribe with nothing but the clothes on his back), but Cornach was a capable wrestler and he had thrown many a man out of a window when they made him angry.
Cornach looked from tree to tree decided where this would-be intruder was and decided that because he had a decent breakfast, that he was in a good mood and a merciful one. Cupping his hands, Cornach shouted...
"Aye, whoever is out there better show there face. If you don't show yerself and I find ye, then I'm going to be using yer skull as a punchbag."

Hiding behind a tall birch tree, Jess waited to see what the barbarian would do. She poked her head out once, only to have him staring straight at her, but luckily, he didn't see her. Then she heard him yell, "Aye, whoever is out there better show their face. If you don't show yerself and I find ye, then I'm going to be using yer skull as a punchbag."
The blonde girl gave a small squeak of fear. Normally, someone yelling her a death threat wouldn't scare her in the slightest, but when you're 4"9 and have a 7"+ angry-looking man yelling a death threat to you, it is more then just a little frightening.
So the small girl took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the tree to face the barbarian. She raised her hands to show that she was unarmed, but the effect was slightly wasted by the fact that she had a longbow strapped to her back, a quiver bristling with arrows and two swords across her back, not to mention her three daggers, two of which were hidden. On the other hand, the barbarian looked to be unarmed, holding only a rib bone, but Jess was quite sure that he would have absolutely no problem ripping her in two if he felt like it.
So the half-elf stood, watching the barbarian with green eyes, her position ready to run. But instead of running, she held her head high and spoke up.
'I'm sorry for the intrusion.' she said politely, her voice cracking slightly, 'I was just passing by and didn't mean to wake you.' This, she knew, wasn't entirely true. She had been passing by but had also tried to wake him, but only because she had thought him dead.
So she waited for him to reply, not knowing his intentions or his mood, but hoping that neither would cause him to attempt to attack her.

When Conach heard the small elvin's voice, the couldn't help but chuckle. As if this small little elf/human could do any harm to a fully grown barbaran. Conach sat back down again still chuckling to himself at the thought of this one doing any harm to him.
"Well dun just stand there ye wee rascal, ye might as well show yerslef. I won't bit ye, honest..."
Conach stretched his arms just to wake them up and then began to stretch his legs. His muscles were still bundled up together and they felt a bit awkward.
