Title: Picking and Entering
Seria Sentrandai - October 1, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
Earlier in the day, Seria had no aspirations about thieving. Until she actually listened to a couple men in Drital Qu'ellar. They were talking about the thieving job that was in the works, due to hit in two nights from now. They had plans to clean the entire vault, estimated at enough rare objects to buy a small portion of Lomedor. Seria had plans to beat them to it, but her methods were to be different. The other thieves were Nightsong guild members, and those guys were experts. So she needed a different method entirely.
Her picks slid within the lock, and she felt around the tumblers. She was kneeling on a second story window of the Parmamar, having just jumped from the roof of the building right beside it. She fiddled with the tumblers until one gave a satisfied click. She moved to the next, and disarmed it as well. The window gave a creak, and Seria smiled. Oh, the Parmamar wasn't expecting someone from a second story window, were they? She slipped her other claw on, and pushed the window open. It slid open with barely a noise beyond a slight creeking, and she dived inside. Her head twisted both ways to check for guards, and she found none. She motioned inwards for her comrades to follow. She didn't turn to talk to them, but whispered just over her shoulder at them.
"Remember the plan. Sneak. Any dead guards or anything would look very bad for us, especially since blood stains are a pain to clean up." Seria whispered. The elf strode down the hall, her womanly before-sleep slippers making no noise on the floor. The soft, comfortable shoes were perfect for thieving, and they came in the cutest color of dark blue. Her garb today was a dark navy blue that covered her entire body in a pant and shirt combo. Her claws were covered in charcoal to remove their sheen. She even went so far as to wear a mask, which allowed all of her skin but the ridge of her nose and her eyes to be concealed.
Amare Fayé - October 1, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
Amare waited while Seria picked the lock. When she finished he entered and looked around for any guards. Finding none he pointed to the door which led to the next room. He blinked once and took one step towards that door. Amare bent down and checked for any traps. Upon finding none he continued towards the door. Inside that room there was a Guard. Amare bit his lip under his mask and motioned towards Seria. He pulled his hand across his throat in a motion of death. Of course he didn't have any spells that could kill, but he can frighten the guard away at the very least. Hopefully she knew that.
Amare took a glance through the door and saw the guard drinking something. Amare quietly stepped through the door and crept behind the guard. When he was right behind the guard he used the Fear Spell. The Guard Instantly freaked out and ran out through another door. Amare smirked and looked at Seria. Amare's method was to scare them away. It would be much simpler then just killing them. Besides there would be a mess to clean up.
Samarin - October 1, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
Samarin looked around. The guard was defintly not happy. Something had spooked him. He rose up from the table full of books at which he was studying. He had just learned a particularly nasty way of subduing someone. He would only use it when he had to but that seemed to be a lot these days. His hand drummed an impatiant tatto on the handle of his favoured weapon. "well lets see whats got him all rield up shall we? he anounced to the world.
His foot opend the door the guard ran through. He pushed it open and stood in the door way, framed by the quite room behind him. He looked at the crouching man. "How did you get in here?" He knew well that the only entrance to this room other than the one he had used was a window. It was why it was being guarded. His hand moved to his blade. Grasping its handle ready. He would resort to magic first however. He did have a bountifull suply after all.
He was blocking the rooms only exit, they would either leave the way they came, or past him. Unconsiuse or arested. No one threated the library. After all it was his place of work. He did not want his classes and the library he worked in to fall into disrepute now did he. In his mind he prepaired to cast a spell. It would work perfectly in such a small area. Just perfectly.
Seria Sentrandai - October 1, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
Seria watched him open the door, and then sneak around the guard. Oh, by Raku, this fool was no thief at all! Then the guard bolted, and he gave Seria a smirk. Seria's head shook, and she darted down the hallway, away from the room. She knew what was coming, a scared guard would alert his commander, whoever that was, to the presence of whatever scared him. Then a small horde of guards would appear, and mob Amare. And he would no doubt alert them to her presence, and things would simply get worse from there. She instinctively paused at the corner that would lead her into the Library's main area, where no doubt there would be a few guards patrolling. She peeked around, and then darted her head back in.
Darnit, that man-elf was gorgeous, and blue haired, thought Seria quickly to herself. Although something in his stride didn't seem very elven at all. This was all wierd. She drifted around this corner, and then checked the hallway the other elf was looking into what Seria judged to be the room Amare had used the spell on the guard in. She then checked the other way down the passage, and stared at a lone guard who looked rather shaken. That was him, and Seria didn't have to worry much about being seen by him.
The elf darted across the hallway as the guard turned about to check for a noise. She paused at the balcony into the Library's main area. She glanced down, and quickly checked the guards. The men in shining armor strode about across the place like a swarm of well armored ants. She mentally cursed herself, and walked back to the other hallway. Gradually the thief made her way down where the lone guard had been, and checked that hallway both ways, and then her eyes checked behind her.
Seria shook her head quickly, and then dashed across the floors, still barely making any noise. She came across the first set of stairs, and slipped between the railing. The elf held herself as she twisted upside down to look if there was any guards beneath the stairs, and in any of the adjacent hallways. She saw none, so she pushed herself the rest of the way through, and neatly flipped around to land on her feet at the base of the stairs. Her ears twitched in annoyance as she spotted a small cluster of guards down the hall.
Samarin - October 1, 2006 05:52 PM (GMT)
Samarin stared down the man who had scared the guard. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted the small face of an elf peering around the edge of the door quickly. Then he realised. This fool could cause no harm. He had been an idiot enough the scare the hell out of the guard after all. He was not the one masterminding this. Although to be fair this was hardly a operation worth any note. He didnt need an answer from his question he knew what was going on. They where here to steal what ever was in the vault. He shook his head. The elf girl had gone. He could hear her darting down the coridors. He would have to take care of this fool first however.
He raised a hand elegently. From the cracks in the floor boreds a green gas began to steam up. It filled the room with a pawl of smoke. It would choke the fool. At most leave him unconsise for a few hours. He waved good bye to the fool that had givin away the whole plan even though it probably wouldnt be seen through the noxus gas and turned on his heals. He shut the door behind him. With a flick oh his wrist vines sprang from the wall and entangled the hinges and handle. It was going to be tough breaking it down. Now for the real catch.
He sprant down the hall way. He could just make out where she went. It was the only other way down that wasnt through him. He was no way near as elgent as her however but it did not matter. He ran the lengh of the coridor. He spotted her up ahead on the stair case. She pulled of quite the flip getting down there. He grinned. If she could make the jump down then he probably could.
He almost skidded to a halt but at the last second his hands grasped the banister and he vaulted over the edge. His sash spilling out behind him he landed on the tilled floor below. He was behind her but facing the wrong way. Wheeling around he looked at her. "The one up there couldnt have been the one behind it. Im guessing its you." He bent his knees slightly so it was barly pereptable, ready to fight or run after her. Despite her aparent tendancys as a theif she was quite attractive from what he had seen but it mattered not. Love and lust would take a back seat while there was a risk to knowlage.
Seria Sentrandai - October 1, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
She twisted around at the sound of feet hitting into the ground behind her. Curses streamed through her normally austere mind, and she placed her claws against each other, and murmured the first of her spells.
"Vela'canth, Omorido" She murmured. She flipped around the claws as she said Omorido. This was the spell of haste, and it's effects caused her to move twice as fast, causing her hands to dart through the next set of movements as he turned around.
"Vela'mace, Omorido" She continued. Now all of her movements became a blur, and her eyes touched his. She gave a weak smile from beneath the suit, and shrugged. This shrug, however, was extremely quick.
"Huh, I guess I am the mastermind behind all this. He was simply a distraction, you know? I was hoping to move fast enough to simply get where I needed to be before you caught on. And use minimal magic, you know, so fellow elves won't be able to detect it." Seria continued. Her claws went up into the air, and she removed the navy blue sashes on her face. Her lavendar hair tumbled out, and her ears gave a few twitches at their newfound freedom. Her navy blue bunny slippers that she was wearing simply stared upwards at the guardian, in their silly exagerated manner. Her odd silver-blue eyes lit upon Samarin, and they looked him up and down. Her claws went to her hips, and she shrugged.
"So, are you going to capture me, or do I have the option of running away today?" Seria inquired. She quickly went through the motions of her third and final spell with her claws, but with held on the trigger, which was the words. If this turned into a fight, today would be a miserable day for the thief. Maybe that Amare could cause even more trouble. Maybe she could help this man and get out of it?
Killing him, of course, had come to mind multiple times as she thought over her options. But then again, she felt something odd about him, especially in how unlike the other elves she knew he was. What was it? She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but he seemed to lack the grace of an elf. His movements weren't stocky, they were more or less practical, they simply got the job done.
Samarin - October 1, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
"my my time magic, thats quite advanced." He had thought her a simple theif but he was mistaken. Time magic was not easy to master, he had thought of dabbling in it but he had not found the time up till now. His magic was plentifull and it served him well. "Well he wasnt much use im afraied. He will be a while in getting through that door unless he goes back the way he came. Now as for you, and me" He said this with a amiable smile. There was not threat behind his words no insinuations. He was not calculating or planning. He already knew what his task was. Although from looking at him some may have thought him just a bit thick.
He moved to the side, tilting his head around her. The guards where closing fast. He would have to do something lest their convosation was to be cut short and it was shapping up to be a good one too. "Give me a second they apear to be gaining on you." He raised his hand and a wall of stone rose from the floor with a small scrapping and rumbling noise, straight and smouth, blocking the whole of the coridor. From edge to edge, no gap. They wouldnt get through now would they. He said to himself. as the sounds of muffled calls and orders could be heared behind it He realised that he was aiding an attempted robbery but he was confident he could stop all this and no one would have to come to harm. Well expet the one in the room upstairs but the damage wouldnt be lasting.
He turned back to the woman. He muttered something and smiled. "Well now you have used your time magic you are fast, but it wont help you if you cant move." The ground beneath her turned to quick sand. Sucking at her feet, trying to pull her into its deapths. He wouldnt let her die just up to her waist to keep her still. Also from the walls. Chains rattled and shot towards her. They to trying to bind her in place.
"Im sorry you dont know my name, im Samarin and I dont propose to arrest you or kill you, i suggest a deal?" He grinned. She was nice he gave her that. If evil. But he was sure there was more behind the whole. Cold hearted nonsense people like her put up to protect themselfs. Now his plan was to get her to surender and go back to his shrine. There she could be let free. No theft from the library and no arest for this fine young woman. It could all work out quite nicely he thought.
Seria Sentrandai - October 3, 2006 01:57 AM (GMT)
Seria was now thoroughly confused. Not only did he not attack her, but he was discussing how he had eliminated her partner. He was no doubt still alive, all these good types tended to have some mercy. But now was not the time to question his actions. Then he noted the distance of the guards, and stone walls shot up around them. Oh no, was he going to be gallant about this? All she wanted to do was escape! She snatched some of her lavendar hair, and clutched it tight to her head.
Then her feet sunk into the ground, and as she tried to leap out, chains snatched her from the walls. Gradually she slipped into the floor, as she crossed her arms beneath her bosom. Her eyes glared at the guardian, and she muttered a rather long stream of curses in an archaic form of quenyan under her breath. It seemed worse than that. Either she would agree with him, or get hacked to pieces by the no doubt eager guards behind the stone wall. A couple took up shouts for the guardian to rip her to pieces, and she sighed.
"I'm listening. What exactly do you want me to do?" Seria said. She wished with every fiber of her being, whatever it was, it wouldn't be embarassing to her. Or involve the death of a rabbit. Which, of course, brought an interesting thought to mind of exactly how her bunny slippers were doing. Wherever they were in the floor beneath her. She wiggled her toes, and then glared at Samarin.
"If, Samarin, for any reason my bunny slippers have been damaged, I'm purchasing a new pair with the profits from selling parts of your body." Seria stated.
(short.)
Samarin - October 3, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
He listend to the chants of the guards and shook his head. He whispered something, the words hung in the air untill they took effect. The chains dropped from her. The sand benithe her reversed its pull, till she was standing once more above the floor. It dried up and faded from existance. Leaving behind the hard flaggon floor. The chains now dimmed untill it was as if they had never been. "No you miss understand me. Im offering you the escape route. Its better for everyone this way. The guards dont have to arest anyone. Nothing has to be stolen and you dont have to get those pretty claws of yours sullied with blood and gore."
He laughed slightly. It was true. It was the easyest way out of the situation for well all of them. Besides he needed a trip back to his shrine at anyrate. It would be a simple matter. "what do you say? Im pretty sure this place is surounded by guards so if you want to escape one person has to die and im not really prepaired to let you do that." He could have added something else like he didnt want to see such a nice lady ending up in a prison but he kept it to himself. He knew where that path led. He had been destroyed by a woman, if uninetionaly before.
He looked to the side as he remembered Ploay, the thoughs past and he turned back to her. His hand raised facing a wall. "I can either cast a portal out of here or a stone golem. I dont want to hurt you, personaly i think you could end up teaching me some stuff about time magic but ya know thats just me, i am a rank sentamentalist. So whats it going to be" He looked almost pleadingly in her eyes. He did not want to have to hurt her. Or any harm come to him but that didnt really matter so much
Seria Sentrandai - October 7, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
Seria considered her available options, and glanced at the wall. She could go upstairs and evade him, and risk getting caught by guard reinforcements. Or she could follow him to where ever he had plans to take her. If he was a guardian, well, it couldn't be too bad, she would assume him to have some honor, considering his current actions. She glanced to the pounding at the stone wall, and shrugged.
"It appears you have caught me. I'll go with you, I guess, but I am seriously considering simply cutting my way out of here. And if you want to learn Time Magic, a word to the wise, it's a wild untamed magic. No god or goddess has risen to claim it." Seria stated. The blue haired elf took one look at him, and then to the wall yet again. She was uncertain, and although she was certain in her ability to get past or through the guards outside, she wasn't certain about the guardian.
"Form your portal now, Samarin, and let us be away from this place. The thought of a failed attempt, it sickens me." The elf stated, rather matter of factly. She slid her claws into their holster across her back, and drew out her delicate white hands. A rather rude thing was shouted across the barrier, and her ears twitched. She glared at the barrier, and considered attacking whoever it was that said that.
Although, the wise wouldn't, and luckily for her and Samarin, she was wise.
(Eeeek. SHORT.)
Samarin - October 7, 2006 10:26 AM (GMT)
He smiled she was cleaver but all magic was wild and untaimed, some people forgot that. If you did not twist the magic to do your will it could do strange things. "Well what you say is not true, There is a god of time, but for them it is not, if you exuse the pun, a time for them to reveial themselfs. Deitys can stay hidden for years before they rise when they are neaded most. As i did. Now i roam the lands doing what i can to protect the earth intrusted to me by liara. The deity will come soon I am sure, though as a demi god no one ever trusts me with that sort of stuff." He grinned. It was a half truth. No one involved him much in the grand scheam of things, but why would they? He was simply a protector and that was his job, and he was happy to keep it. He was placed on this green earth to fight for it and that was what he would do.
He was glad she had not tried to fight, after all the walls in this place where made of stone, he could have if he needed to, alter it to suit him. However it was not the way. His hand alighted brifly on the wall, from his touch a black circle apeared. It grew. Balooning out till it flattend on its sides and moved upwards. With in a few seconds a large doorway had opend. Flat on the whitewashed wall. As black as the night. It seemed to draw in the light rather than just be. He took a step back and gestured with his hands. "ladys first" HE was half doing it out of fear she would simply run off and get cornered and half because it was only right.
The portal would exit in his shrine. He smiled inside. It was good to get back home every once in a while. Besides maybe could catch up with adsero and have a drink. Although she had beaten him in every drinking comeption they had ever had. Maybe this time will be my lucky day he thought. As he thought back to his shrine he remembered something. Maybe there would be something he could give to her. As a token of his apresiation for not trying to kill him? Well he was a rank sentamentalist and that was that, he could live with it though he was surprised others could
(same here, oh and do yhou want to continue this in my shrine or just finish it here?)
Seria Sentrandai - October 12, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
(The shrine...can you make the topic, so Seria can gain her gifts IC? Just PM me about it, and we can figure it out, no need for another post in this topic after mine)
Seria shrugged about his comment towars how wild all magic was, she didn't believe it. Magic had always worked to her will like a tender filet would work to the will of a master chef. Her eyes widened momentarily at him, and then she gave a quick nod. How nice it would be to be capable of casting that particular spell. She twisted about as he said ladies first, and she shrugged. Seria didn't think herself much of a lady, but then again, she knew well enough that some did.
"Don't consider me much of a lady, for your own good. I would rather stay under the eyes of those more powerful than myself. Seria advised. She strode forwards, and then stopped. She stared at the portal, and then her eyes traced across Samarin. Her mind screamed don't, never let anyone else get close. Her heart agreed, and although she agreed, it was shaky. Painful memories returned, and she shunned them idly. She wouldn't get close, but neither would she remain a stranger.
"Samarin, you must understand that I am not a nice nor good person, too much time on this land has altered that. Don't get your hopes up, I'm just another pretty face." Seria stated in her most icy tone. She would never doubt her beauty, but she never liked being beautiful, it simply got in the way of leading her life in the way she wished. She had vowed, long, long ago, to not become a wife, ever.
