Title: Warm Welcome

Fendiin - September 28, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
The ship pulled slowly up to Port Adune. Fendiin had been to the bustling city before, but nevery by way of the sea, it was quite a sight to behold. The port was massive, ships of all kinds moved in and out of the busy area. As he gazed out over the docks and further in there were an uncountable abundense of people. Some were there to work, such as the sailors who were preparing their ships for sail. Dock workers shuffled about carrying boxes and crates of all sizes, bringing things aboard ships, and shouting orders to one another. Fishermen sat perched over some of the docks, most of them appearing to be older men, or children with no means to get further out into the sea via a ship.

Fendiin was no sailor, nor was anyone else on the deck of the ship he was on. They had all been slaves, but had managed to take over the ship and switch places with their slavers. The slaves had put on the clothing fo the sailors and put them all down below, stuffed in the hold as they had been. Fendiin took in the city as a welcome sight, he had been in the darkness of that ship for far too long, and now he was anxious to go find some adventure in the city.

They managed to get the ship anchored next to a large dock and place a plank down so they could get form the ship to dry land. No one spoke, the moment was tnese as they all moved from the ship, if they were caught it would mean trouble, and lots of it. No one seemed to be paying much attension to them at first, but then a well armored guard approached Fendiin.

"Ok, I am going to need to see your docking permit as well as a cargo manifesto," Without any more talking he held out his hand, expecting Fendiin to produce the proper paper work. The half elf cleared his throat and glanced around to everyone else to see if they had any idea what the guard was talking about.

"Right, I have them in my quarters, on the ship." With that he turned on his heel and headed back up the plank. He had no diea what he was looking for, and he did not think anyone else did either. Before he even made it halfway onto the ship he felt a strong hand grab his shoulder. Fendiin looked back over his shoulder to see the guard behind him.

"New to the town, son?" He asked with a serious look scrawled across his face. Fendiin opened his mouth but nothing came out. "Look, We work hard guarding these docks, and the town does not pay us very well, get what I am saying?"

A wave of understand washed over him, this guy was talking bribery. Fendiin and the others were still in hot water at this point, none of them had any money, they were slaves after all. Before Fendiin could even try to gather his wits there was a pounding at the side of the ship, it was coming from inside. the muffled sounds of men screaming for assistance could easily be heard through the thing wooden walls of the ship.

The guard pulled his sword and put it up to Fendiins neck. "What have we got here? Slavers by the sound of it, in that case it will cost you double, and we will have to check them out before letting them into the town."

Fendiin did not know what to say now, if the guards went down to check them it would be obvious what had happened. Fendiin began to slid his hand down to his sword, he saw no other way. If h could just get past them he would be able to loose them in the crowd.

Fendiin pulled out his sword and knocked the blade away from his neck, lucky the guard had been looking the other way so he was knocked off balance by the sudden attack. A swift kick to the back side sent him sprawling into the green water below them. The other guards began to unsheath their blades, it was going to be a long day.

Kiara_Lenaya - September 28, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Kiala watched from the water.
Deciding she had wanted to swim and get into the city at the same time, she thought why not try both, thus, here she was, looking at guards running onto a ship and a seemingly nice man getting attacked.
Shrugging she swam up to the ship, and digging her claws into the wood, quickly scrambled up behind the man. He was a bit taller than she, but she didn't mind. she perched, crouching on a railing and unsheathed her katana. she quickly got the odd stares of the guards, who running towards the man suddenly saw a half-dragon behind him, none of them really were prepared to see that.
"Hello. Im Kiala. It seems you may need some help?" she said with a grin to the man, her sharp teeth flashing.

Talenëa - September 30, 2006 08:51 PM (GMT)
The best days in Lómëdor were the sunny ones. Not too hot, mind you, but warm enough that a little breeze could keep oneself cool. Such a day was this as the fallen angel stood ready at his post for the day, just a little ways off from the busy port. As a member of the Guard of Lómëdor, it was his duty to find and cease any suspicious activity that was a daily occurence in the city. Whether this was done through force or less violent means, his job stayed the same. And he liked to think he was pretty good at it.

Of course, he hadn't always been a guard of the city, but things have a way of changing just when it starts to become comfortable. His old life glimpsed briefly in his eyes, the sudden flashback causing him to recoil quickly, drawing his sword, his mouth agape.

"Talenëa?" called his partner from the right. "Are you alright?"

The angel took a moment to gather himself and sheath his weapon. "I'm fine," he replied simply. "Just a flashback."

"Those seem to be more and more common," his partner pointed out. "Is there something-"

"I said I'm fine, Grolin," Talenëa said, cutting him off.

Grolin turned his head away from him. "If you say so."

It was at this point that Talenëa saw, a little ways off in the distance, a runner. He was coming urgently from the port, a message gripped tightly in his right hand. The sun was right behind the messenger, making it hard to make out his appearance, but odds were he was a part of the Guard. The fallen angel and his partner waited patiently, waiting to see if the runner was heading towards them. He was.

A minute later the runner, out of breath and panting, held up the note for Talenëa to take. The Guard snatched it with quickness, allowing the messenger to place his hands on his knees and take a breather. Talenëa took the binding off of the rolled up note and took in its words. He summarized it for Grolin. "Trouble at the port. Backup required."

"What sort of trouble?" came Grolin's reply.

Talenëa shook his head. "Slavers, something or other. Giving Elul and his crew some resistance. We need to get there as quickly as possible."

Grolin nodded. "Well let's go then." With that, Talenëa handed the note back to the runner, instructing him to pass it on to any of the other guards in the area. Then the two of them took off for the port, ready to enter the fray. If Elul and his men couldn't handle the problem alone, it must be a big deal. Talenëa drew his sword as they ran through the streets. He quickly spotted the docks, but there was nothing else in sight. He glanced to his left and right, nothing. He motioned to Grolin that they should keep going in a westerly direction, as there were a few more docks over there. Finally, a large scale brawl came into view. A ship was docked nearby, screams coming out from its holds below deck. Elul was visible leading the fighting, his broadsword sweeping down into the ranks of the resistance.

Talenëa gave out a sigh. "And I really thought today was going to be a good day."

Fendiin - October 1, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
Fendiin danced around Elul's blade as he took another arking swing. Most of the slaves had been beaten down or killed as the melee went on, Fendiin and a few others were all that remained in the struggle. thanks to the distraction of the girl that had jumped to his rescue he had been able to get off of the plank and onto solid ground. After attempting to run he had been surrounded by armor clad guards. The baggy captains clothing he wore had impeded his movement, but after a few close swipes of swords and axes the clothing had been hewn from his body. Luck for him he had left on his other clothing under the captains wear.

The slavers were still shouting from under the hold, the guards were too busy fighting off all of the captives to help them, and their yelling was becoming annoying. More and more guards kept pouring in all around them. Fendiin was no killer, he had tried to escape but all of the routes had been blocked off, and he was getted very tired from dodging cold steel from every direction.

A flash of steel whizzed by Fendiins head, taking off a few stray pieces of his hair. Fendiin had tried to reason with the guards, but they would not listen, it seemed that they wanted a fight, and Fendiin refused to give them one. Merchants scattered and the fight bleed over into the market part of the port, which was right next to the slavers ship. Diving over one of the merchants tables Fendiin managed to evade a sword strike from the most agressive of the guards, a man named Elul.

There were a few guardsmen just standing there laughing and shouting, as if it was a game. They were chanting Elul's name and every time a stroke missed its target they moaned with dismay. They wanted blood spilled, one way or another. Elul's broadsword came crashing down, hewing the table in half. The merchats goods went flying this way and that, and along with them came a cry of saddness from the merchant himself.

Elul looked up to see a hard leather boot come to his face. Fendiin put his weight behind it and sent Elul staggering back. A thing stream of blood came from his obviously broken nose. Fendiin had hoped the shot would take him out, but it only seemed to enrage the beast of a man further.

"Little help here!" Fendiin called out to no one in peticular as the large guard came at him again.

Kiara_Lenaya - October 2, 2006 02:02 AM (GMT)
Kiara launched herself into the guards, as they came after the man. She was small and quick and dodged thier initial blows, lashing out with her sword at mod-level. She took down a couple guards with a couple finely place stabs, when she noticed they were beginning to surround her.
She jumped up, kicking hard with her claws off the chest of a guard, towards the man she came to aid, landing by his side. She fought next to him and began to notice he was being very reluctant to fight and had already taken close hits. Her spiked tail lashed out as she made a spinning slash around her as the guards pressed in, her tail knocking a couple guards to the ground, while her sword ringed off a few other guards blades. The numbers of blows aimed at her was beginning to increase and she miss blocked a blow and barely dodged, the blade giving a deep cut on her shoulder. She hissed instincivly at the pain, and countered the blow with one of her own, stabbing the sword into the mans thigh, and then jumping high enough to slash off his head.
the man had since moved onto the docking pier and was fighting a rather strong looking angel.
Kiara leapt up onto the shoulders of a guard, stabbing him in the process and leapt onto the railing of the ship. She parried severl blows from there jumping around on the thin railing. When she had a slight repreive she jumped back as hard as her legs would push, giving a slow flip and landing on the dock behind the angel. she took a second to parry a couple blows, and regain her balance, taking a cut on her cheek and across the stomach in the process, finally gaining balance, she flung herself at the back of the angel, going for his wings.

Telsar - October 3, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
Telsar watched the fighting rage from the end of the pier. Several guards bustled by him, oblivious to the cloaked figure. The situation was amuzing him, as only mortal happenings could. The ship seemed to have created a great deal of chaos since its arrival, and the appearance of a half-dragon didnt seem to help things. The two seemed like quite capable fighters. Thats when he noticed the angelic figure among the guards. He seemed to be skilled himself, but he was not pressing an attack. Telsar noticed then that the half-dragon had made it to the docks, and was about to attack the angel.
"This should be intresting." he thought to himself.

The storms of the sea had rocked Haden's body hard, leaving his corpish figure in wincing pain and his vigor spent. He clinged on to a splintered fragment of what used to be his ship. It had been three long days ago since his ship had been destroyed and his crew mutalated.Although, in his mind it only seemed like yesterday. He became angered as he thought of how those mere priests had destroyed his whole crew. He remembered how painfull their screams sounded as they were disentegrated by the radiant glows of the priests' holy spells. He had barely escaped as he watched his ship go down in a heap of flaming inferno."Upon this day, all of 'HUMANITY'will pay ten fold for the blasphemy they have commited against me and my fellow bretheran,"he said just before his mind slipped into a tranquil sense of vertigo.

As he looked to the horizon, he saw what he thought to be land. He used what little momentum he had left to make it to shore. When he dragged himself to shore he stood to his feet and began to heal himself with the dark arts and to his supprise it worked and his body was rejuvenated. As he looked down shore, he saw what appeared to be a port and what also appeared to be fighting."Great, my first victums!,"he thought to himself before quickly moving closer to survey the battle at hand. As he looked around, an evil smirk came to his face.

While the battle was going on, the was city was left defenseless. He would have an opportune moment to sneak by and not have to fight at all. He slipped his way upon the docks and just as it seemed he was out of it all, a guard shouted"You there, stop!" Haden grumbled and quickly drew his scimitar and sliced off the mans wepon-hand before laying his body at his feet. By now, their were a dozen more in his place with swords drawn. Haden defended himself against whatever was brought forth from the coming onslaught of guards."Come 'HUMANITY',let us dance," he said with that same evil smirk as the guards gathered around him from all sides.
