Title: Traveling through nowhere
Description: open
Malisaro - September 16, 2006 08:58 PM (GMT)
A long line of footprints extended from the horizen across the sands. The sun was high in the sky beating down on anything and everything all around. The footprints however showed no signs of weakness, they were neat and steady and at the very end of them a tall figure was walking across the desert completely oblivius to the heat beating down on him despite the black materials he wore. Malisaro continued to walk despite the fact he'd been in this blasted desert for nearly three days without a second of sleep, the constant light wasn't doing anything for his mood either.
He kept his vision ahead though and kept walking, eventually he'd get to the end of this ridiculas overgrown beach. Endless miles of sand wasn't the most favourable thing to see every morning and it itched when it got between the clothes. Looking around Malisaro noticed that the sand dunes were getting higher, from where he was he could see his prints going back over the horizen, his eyes narrowed.
"Petty place," he muttered "who in their right minds would allow a desert to form when it could be used for something else. I don't have time for this now."
He turned back in the direction he'd been going and began ascending a sand dune, he reached the top and looked at the scenery ahead of him.
"Miles of endless sand," he muttered "not exactly unpredictable, if very annoying."
He walked down the sand dune keeping his eyes ahead of him, but he stopped suddenly and looked to the side.
"Did I just...?"
The ground was shaking slighty, Malisaro looked down but wasn't even phased. The sound seemed to be growing closer to him, the ground beside him exploded and a giant desert worm emerged from the ground towering above him, Malisaro barely flinched despite its size.
"Pitiful creature," he growled "lets see what you do for a living."
The worm leapt at him aiming to swallow him whole but Malisaro raised his hand.
"Lightning bolt!"
An electrical charge flew from his hand striking the worm in the face, it stopped its attack but the spell didn't seem to have harmed it much. It leapt at Malisaro again and he dived out of the way drawing two throwing daggers and hurling them at the beast, they stuck in its sides and blood trickled out. Malisaro got to his feet raising his hand and the daggers flew back into it. Enraged the wrom turned to face him again.
"You just don't learn do you," Malisaro said "guess I'll have to teach you respect the hard way Lava wave!"
A river of lava suddenly erupted from the ground behind Malisaro rushing forwards and striking the giant worm, it collpased and was consumed. After the lava cleared there was nothing but a black burnt shell infront of him.
"Pitiful," Malisaro muttered "I never seem to get a worthy opponent these days."
He turned and began walking in the same direction he'd been going again not looking back at the creature.
Kanako - October 18, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
Kanako was walking through the desert herself, admittedly lost. Face burnt from being in the sun so much, sweating because of her long purple robes. Ankle-length black hair also made her situation worse. It had been almost an entire day, and she was getting tired from not being able to sleep. Every time she tried another creature would show up, forcing her to battle. Her body was exhausted not only from the lack of sleep, but because of her mana being depleted as well.
Kanako had a tight grip on her staff, closing her eyes for a few minutes as she walked, sighing to herself angrily. She had no clue why she thought the desert wouldn't be this thick but she cursed herself for her stupidity now.
She opened her eyes, covering her face with her hand and squinting. She saw someone, and at first she thought she was imaging it. But after staring for a while she realized it was somebody, and she thought maybe he could help her.
"Excuse me!" She ran to catch up with him, out of breath by the time she reached him.
"Um.. sorry.. I see that you're strong, and I was wondering if.. maybe I could travel with you? Just until I get out of this desert." Looking at him with honest and hopeful grey eyes.

Raamsees stumbled as he felt two giant shockwaves roar from the sand to his left and right flanks. "Great, ... another one!" he exclamed as he began thinking about how many of these wretched creatures he had already slew. Suddenly two huge giant sand worms shot forth from the ground and gave a piercing screech. Raamsees smiled for he knew they were blind and only reacted to motion. "Let's see you try and keep up with the wind." he said in a sarcastic manner as he quickly shifted into an air elemental and shot forth with both worms in hot pursuit. He stopped and then doubled back with his katana drawn in hand. He lunged at one worm tearing through its scaly hide before finally striking one of its vital organs. It fell to the sand, in a heaping mass of spasms, near its death. "One down, one too go!" he said as he charged towards the other. As he lunged forth in the same manner it caught one of its teeth in Raamsees' shoulder. "Ahh..." screamed Raamsees in pain as he dived into the beasts mouth and tore him to shreads from the inside out. Behind him the worm lay dead and Raamsees lay caked in blood -- some of it was his own and the other belonged to the malevolent beast behind him.
He walked towards a distant sand dune holding his shoulder in agony;looking back occasionally to see the remains of his recent kill. He fell to his knees as he felt a loss of consiousness overtaking him. His ears perked at the sound of some nearby voices as he fell into an altered state of relapse. Although, he also heard that same distinct quake as he felt another worm approaching. "Help!" he screamed in one final desperate plea as he finally lost all sense of consiousness.
Kanako - October 29, 2006 06:59 PM (GMT)
Kanako panicked as she saw what was going on. Taking a step backwards, watching in complete awe. Seeing he was in trouble her wings came from her back. She healed him, picking him up with one hand and with the other completely destroying the two worms in front of them with light. Flying a ways away, to another patch of pure desert and landing, setting him down carefully before falling herself, not used to using all of her power like that. Panting and holding her face in her hands, hand bleeding from expelling so much mana. All of her energy was gone. Seeing as he had no more injuries and seemed to just be sleeping she passed out next to him.
She was cursing herself for using all of her mana like that. Normally she was not strong at all and her little experience in battle didn't help her. But she was able to destroy many creatures by expelling all of her mana into an attack based on her element, light, but she had only done it once before this.
Silkysoft176 - October 30, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
Raamsees awoke to find that his wounds seemed to be healed and that he himself was out of harms way. What more, there appeared to be his rescuer passed out right next to him. From the looks of her she appeared to be Half-Angel. Raamsees smiled a friendly smile for she had gone out of her way to save him. He thought it odd because most who see him in trouble usually turn the other cheek--mostly because he was a nine-tailed fox.Although, this girl was different, she had saved his life.He went over next to her and surveyed her; noticing she was physically at a complete loss of mana.
"I must do what is right." he said as he gave her some minor healing herbs and walked to the nearest dune hill to sit down. He sit intently watching the sky and waited for the girl to awake so he could ask for her name.
Kanako - November 3, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
A few hours later Kanako awoke, with a massive headache and sore limbs. Her back was also exhausted from flying so far. Rubbing her eyes she noticed that someone had replaced some of her mana. Looking up she found the same man who she had just helped. This surprised her deeply as she had expected him to leave upon waking up, but this person appeared to be waiting for her to wake up.
"Um.. hi! Are you.. are you alright?" Looking him over, voice hesitant. Seeing he was okay and breathing a sigh of relief, looking at him with a smile despite the way she felt at the moment.
Malisaro - November 6, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)
After a while of walking Malisaro looked up and saw a figure coming in his direction carrying a staff and looking the worst for wear. Once she got within hearing range of him she spoke. "Excuse me!" She called running "Um.. sorry.. I see that you're strong, and I was wondering if.. maybe I could travel with you? Just until I get out of this desert."
Malisaro looked at her closely, she did look in need of some help.
"Very well, I could use some company," he said.
A sudden call caught his ears, he turned to see a figure in the distace collapse at the top of a sand dune.
"Well I never did relax," he sighed and ran in his direction.
But the stranger suddenly revealed a pair of wings and picked the man up obliterating the worms charging at him. Malisaro watched her carry him and landing on a safe spot before passing out herself.
"Wonder why she asked for my help then," he wondered.
There were probably more worms about and those two were vounrable being outcold, he hated playing bodyguard but he wasn't about to let them get eaten. A few hours passed before they were both awake again and the worms could probably smell enough of their dead to know to stay away, he watched the first person wait for the other to wake up, it occoured to him that he'd never asked her name.
"Had a nice sleep?" He joked, he sat down before he lost too much energy standing, he paused and looked up at her "if you're strong enough to destroy two worms like that then why would you need my help?" He asked "although it did seem to take a lot out of you."
Kanako - November 6, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
Rubbing her head and looking at him with an awkward smile.
"Well.. I'm not really.. used to them. The only attacks I know how to make drain my mana and make it impossible for me to continue fighting. I'm not very good at it.." Looking down before looking up again with a real smile. Extending a hand.
"Kanako. May I ask your name?"
Malisaro - November 6, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
Malisaro would have smiled had he been able to, but it probably wouldn'r have mattered anyway. He extended his own hand takig hers. "Malisaro," he replied shortly "and I shouldn't worry if I were you, it doesn't take as long as you think to master you powers."
He turned to the other person, the one Kanako had healed.
"And your name?" He asked "no sense talking if we don't know who each other is."
A joke? There's something I haven't done in a long time he thought maybe I am chamging back.
Silkysoft176 - November 23, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
"The name's Ramsees." he said with a smile as he held out his hand and shook both of theirs in return. " May I ask for your names?" he said with the utmost kindness. He looked to the girl, looking her over in a slight glance to see if her wounds had healed. "I see that your wounds have almost disappeared completely."said Raamsees, "I would also like to say thank you for saving my life as well."
Standing there a moment, Raamsees thought of what they should do next for it was becoming nightfall and there were far worse creatures than sand worms out at night. "We had better seek shelter before those sand worms decide to attack us again." said Raamsees."Although,it might not even be sand worms;it could be something far more ruthless."
Kanako - November 24, 2006 12:00 AM (GMT)
"Yes, thank you. My name is Kanako. Ah.. it was.. nothing. It's a pleasure to meet both of you." She had a big smile on her face, feeling much safer with these two around. If she didn't have to cross the desert she wouldn't of. When she set out she knew it would be dangerous but for some reason she thought she would be able to make it. Standing up and brushing herself off she saw her robes were dirty. It didn't matter at the moment and she would clean them later but the female part of her noticed it and she shook her head, reaching for her staff. She looked around in all directions, frowning to see that they weren't out of the desert yet- though she knew that, she had to check.
She sighed softly, a bit relieved that she didn't need to cover her eyes anymore, but a bit freaked out by the thought of nighttime in the desert as well. It was starting to get very cold; under her robes she could feel she was getting goosebumps from the cold and she fought back a shiver, biting her lip.
She looked down at Ramsees and Malisaro, smiling again.
"I'll let you two decide what we do. I'm not very good at this kind of stuff.." The only reason she was crossing the desert was because she had gotten a lead on where her brother Devin was. Word has it, he was last scene starting stuff in a town, in his dragon form. She didn't know how successful it would be, because news like that obviously took a long time to get across the desert, but she hoped he would still be around. She hadn't seen nor heard anything about her sister but she decided to focus on Devin now.
Sitting back down next to them she had a tight grip on the sand next to her. Feeling it against her palm and flexing, letting it fall and wiping her hands off. Even though she had just met them they had both proved to be trustworthy so she did trust them. She didn't think she could do anything of use but she was going to try her best to be as useful as possible.
"I'll fly up and see if there's anything in the distance we can use for shelter." Biting her lip again as she sprouted wings, rubbing her back. It didn't feel all that great yet but she knew she would get used to it.
Letting a breath of air escape she ascended, going up extremely high and looking around. She didn't see anything and almost gave up but in the distance, teeny-tiny, she knew she saw a rock formation. From that distance it could have been anything; just a few boulders or maybe nothing at all. But she would tell them anyways, being careful as she flew down, giving them a smile as her wings disappeared.
"I saw something in the distance.. I think it was a rock formation, but I'm not sure. But it was far.. I don't know how long it would take us to get there."
Malisaro - November 27, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
"The name's Ramsees." The stranger replied "May I ask for your names?" He asked.
"Malisaro," Malisaro replied shortly.
"We had better seek shelter before those sand worms decide to attack us again." Ramsees suggested after a while "Although,it might not even be sand worms;it could be something far more ruthless."
"Don't tempt me," Malisaro said with a slight hint of humour.
"I'll fly up and see if there's anything in the distance we can use for shelter." Kanako said. She stood up and sprouted her wings taking off into the sky, she loomed about before spotting something.
"Find anything?" Malisaro said as she floated back down.
"I saw something in the distance.." She replied "I think it was a rock formation, but I'm not sure. But it was far.. I don't know how long it would take us to get there."
Malisaro though about it, he didn't really care to be honest but neither of these two had the advantage of a stubborn will to keep them going, well a stubborn will and a habit of not bieng able to sleep at all.
