Title: Beach Adventure
Description: open to all

Maktesh - September 16, 2006 02:40 PM (GMT)
Maktesh was enjoying a relaxing walk along the beach, taking full advantage of the oppurtunity to feel the sand between his toes and stretch his wings. He had just been flying and was considering heading towards the city for a bit of lunch when he noticed a large cave, the entrance cleverly hidden by carefully placed rocks and brush. Of course curisoty got the better of his hunger and he began to dress him self, sliding back into his white shirt and worn leather boots, excited by the prospect of a bit of exploration before the day's end.

Hikari - September 17, 2006 11:11 AM (GMT)
((lol, think Karate Kid))
Hikari’s stare stretched out far across the ocean waves, onto the horizon that lied across the water, gently reflected by it‘s shinning surface. This resulted in a beautiful array of orangish, yellowish, and purplish colors. Hikari, while fully concentrated on his stance, chuckled under his dark sash at the prospect of the thought; a ninja, a trained spy and assassin, finding the horizon beautiful. The mere thought of such foolery would’ve been enough to get him killed by his superiors, back before he left of course.

Hikari stretched his arms out further, and almost lost his footing on the dull post that he balanced upon. Quickly kicking one foot into the air, bending it, and landing the other foot onto the post, all the while with his arms still out to his sides, it was a difficult stance to say the least. But when his thoughts returned to his old life…it only made the concentration that much harder. Shutting his eyes tightly, he began to erase the thoughts of his past life from his mind, returning it to the task at hand.

After opening his eyes, his vision was somewhat blurred, and he began to blink rapidly, gently shaking his head from side to side to regain his sight. However, at one shake, his peripheral vision caught the figure of another upon the beach. Stopping for a moment, he turned his head to the direction where he first spotted the figure. Sure enough, there was another being here, quite close to him as well. Hikari mentally scolded himself for letting himself lose focus on his surrounding, and allowing himself to be snuck upon so easily.

Returning his stare to the figure near him, he noticed the man had large…wings across his back. Indeed, it was an angel that was here, on the beach at this very moment. Even angels have to get some fresh air Hikari thought to himself as he returned his eyesight back to the horizon. He had no intention of stirring up trouble with a celestial being. That was of course, unless they attacked first, in which case, he would have no quarrel in killing one.

Maktesh - September 17, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
Preparing to enter the cave and begin exploring Maktesh stopped. Did I just hear something? He silently mused. It had sounded like a quiet pat, almost like someone jumping. He cringed at the images of the demons that have haunted his memory since he was a child as they flashed through his mind. Expecting the worst he slowly drew his two-handed sword from it's worn leather scabbard behind his back and turned. Relieved to see that it was not a demon of any sort that was nearby, just a lone man watching the horizon from a particularly uncomfortable looking perch on a wooden post. Sliding his sword back into it's scabbard between his large white wings and slowly began to aproach him, always up for meeting new people.

Hikari - September 18, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
Hikari closed his eyes for a moment, as he did earlier, though, not as tight or forcefully in any respects. The things is coming towards me he quietly thought to himself as he once more jumped into the air, switching his legs quickly in mid jump, only to land back on the post with a new foot balancing his body weight. He had come out here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city; the annoying creatures that seemed to descend upon him like a flock of mentally challenged gulls, it was enough to drive him insane.

And here and now, even on this isolated patch of white sandy beach, with the sun slowly descending behind the wispy clouds, and the tide gently slowing to a serene pace, he could not escape the curiosity of another sentient being. Perhaps it was a curse, placed upon him by the Gods that he would have to live out for the rest of his bothered, interrupted days. Hikari mused at the thought of the Gods doing such a trivial thing…after all, he had never even once crossed a God’s path, not in their temples or anywhere else on Arda.

Sighing, as there seemed no other way to avoid this, besides simply dispatching the fool as he approached a total stranger, a Ninja no less, Hikari jumped down from the post he once balanced on. Upon landing with both feet placed into the sand, he brushed himself off, and then leaned up against the post., letting his arms flail to his side. Moving his right hand up to his neck, he pretended to move it back and forth. Of course this gave the illusion that Hikari was simply scratching his, it held more significance then that.

His hand was now right next to the hilt of his katana. This way, if the need arose during the midst of this much unwanted confrontation, he would be able to quickly draw his weapon, and hopefully, decapitate the being before he could even cringe.

Maktesh - September 18, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Approaching the obviously distressed stranger Maktesh began to have second thoughts. Hmm, considered Maktesh. Ought not let plain old hesitation stop me. "Hello! My name is Maktesh." As he approached he began to get that uneasy feeling that he gets in comabat, not that he had experianced much. I wonder if this man is friendly mused Maktesh, recounting all of the people that have proven hostile simply because of his half-angel heritage. Well, if thats the case, I will in no way shy from battle, it has been for far to long that i have put up with this abuse and harrassment, he decisively concluded.

Roleun - September 18, 2006 02:03 PM (GMT)
((Sorry for the lack of an avatar... It's almost done.))

Roleun stood on the shoreline, breathing in the salty ocean air. He was glad for the chance to stretch his wings in a quiet environment. It had been so long that he had been able to do so without some stranger gawping at him, that he couldn't remember the last time he'd done so without other people about. His eyes were half closed, looking at the shimmering water. He looked around and immeadiatly noticed two figures, seemingly in conversation, with one of them in a position to draw a katana. He frowned slightly and noticed that the other figure had wings as well. A gasp escaped his lips. Is it an angel, or another half angel? Either way... He thought to himself. He started half running, half flying, wings pushing him faster than running pace. He stopped about fifty feet away from the figures. "Hey!" He yelled.

Maktesh - September 18, 2006 09:15 PM (GMT)
Hearing a shout Maktesh froze in place. turning his head he saw another winged man approaching. Maktesh couldn't help but wonder if he was an angel, or possibly half as he himself was. Maktesh soon gave up trying to figure it out, he had met few half-angels, and even fewer full blooded angels.

Roleun - September 18, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
"Ummm... Why do you both look as if you're about to fight?" Roleun asked, slightly bewildered. The one with the wings... He's half angel as well. He thought to himself. He shook his hair out of the way of his vision. "Hello... I'm, er, Roleun. It's nice to meet you both... What are your names?"

Maktesh - September 19, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
Excited to meet another new face Maktesh answered quickly, "I'm Maktesh. And i had no intention of fighting, unless of course the choice is made for me." Maktesh carefully eyed Hikari. "I can't help but notice your wings. Are you by any chance an angel of any sort? I am a half-angel."

Roleun - September 19, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I'm half-angel as well." Roleun said, nodding. He looked at the ninja. "You're very silent. Are you going to tell us your name, or are you going to just stand there, one hand on the hilt of your sword?" He asked, halfway grinning. He shrugged. "I'm here to get away from the loud noises and crowds, but meeting a few people can't hurt. Is there anything you either of you were going to do anytime soon?"

Maktesh - September 23, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
"well..." Maktesh began, "I was just about to head back into the city when i found a cave nearby, I was considering a bit of exploration before the day is out. Roleun, Hikari, would either of you wish to join me?" Maktesh carefully surveyed the both of them, deciding that they both appeared quite interesting and not at all a threat to his person, at the moment that is.

Roleun - September 23, 2006 02:10 PM (GMT)
"Sure, a little exploring sounds fine to me." Roleun said, nodding. He glanced at Hikari. I can't help but wonder what his intentions are... He thought. His hand rests on his katana as if he is ready to battle, and he remains silent and still, like a statue. If I didn't know better, I'd think he actually was a statue.

Maktesh - September 23, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
"Well then. i guess it's just you and me Roleun. The cave is over this way." Maktesh began tohead toward the lightly wooded shore and a large pile of boulders. "So Roleun, where are you from? I personally am just a country boy, just recently arrived here in the big city. It's a bit overwhelming, but I love the beach."

Roleun - September 23, 2006 06:56 PM (GMT)
"I'm from the country as well. But I've been traveling for about eight years now, so I'm pretty much used to the city by now. It's just a bit too loud for my taste, though." Roleun said, remembering his hometown. "I grew up by a forest, and spent most of my time amongst the trees. I remember, I used to love going there when there was a full moon... When Mom died, I left and started traveling around Arda."

Nevermore - September 23, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
Oh joy... Sabre thought as he watched a paranoid angel bother the ninja who had been focusing his skills for a while now. More overinquisitive angels... It was no secret, celestial beings bothered him, he found them to be the most pompous and vain beings he had ever encountered, excluding his old tutor. Sabre smirked as the angel moved so timidly around the ninja, who was training in solitude upon the shallow bay. The salt air of the sea breeze in Ëarsúl did not offend his sense of smell as much as the other harbors, he was quite pleased about that. It was not until another angel, streaking up the beach with a mixed combination of wings and foot. "How dumb are they? he mumbled to himself, Sabre might have been out of earshot, he might have not, he did not care either way. "Don't they realize ninjas and assassins like that don't like to be bugged for stupid things?"

"Ummm... Why do you both look as if you're about to fight?" one of them asked with the timidity of a newborn mouse. And then before they could respond, he introduced himself. Sabre was wondering why anybody would care who fought who, it's not like it was anybody's business but the fighters. Sabriel was wandering the beach, his emerald hilted sword belted to his side, he cared not if they heard him, saw him or even spoke to him, the ninja he might consider having a talk with as it was a path he almost took himself, but the angels, he found them irksome, meddling in others affairs they did not belong. And it was not just a simple dislike for these two, it was anybody who lived by that code, only one angel he found he actually liked, a Zenith...something or other. When his feet had carried him towards the area the three congregated, he wordlessly drew his sword. He decided to see what these angels were like. Maybe he would mess with them.

His eyes bore into the winged duo as they talked about cave exploring and began to move, the Ninja still not caring one way or another it seemed, and the emeralds in his sword came to life in a dazzling display of the sunlight in the sky. and the sunlight reflecting in the boundless waters. The beauty of the weapon was almost distracting to those who saw Sabriel wield it. The angels would see in it what they would, and take his gesture how they would as well. Either way, Sabre thought, this ought to be interesting...

Roleun - September 23, 2006 08:54 PM (GMT)
From the corner of his eye, Roleun saw a flash of beautiful emerald light. He turned, looking for the source, and saw a young half-elven man with a sword in his hand. The sword was the source of the light. He watched, curious, to see what the man would do. After surveying him, Roleun noticed a look of supressed disdain on the man's face. He considered calling out to him, but he felt the usual shyness well up within him. He may not like half-angels, not many people do... One side of his mind said. He decided not to be shy, but wouldn't call out to him either. He touched the side of his simple longsword, to make sure it was there if he needed it. Whatever this being's intention, he would be ready.

Nevermore - September 23, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
Sabre noted one of the Angels as he turned around, he wanted to have fun messing with his mind and if things escalted, he had no worries about slaying an angel. He'd done it before, and was inevitably going to have to do it again. He was only on the path to becoming a seasoned Necromancer and as such, had not acquired certain skills he may have wished to have learned. The other angel seemed quite slow on the uptake and had not noticed the sword wielding stranger standing behind him. He flicked his sword through the air once, in the direction of the angels, the shine of the emeralds once more gleaming in the mixed lights. Sabre's hair blew in the breeze and his blue cloak billowed out behind him once as the wind picked up. His red eyes glinted like rubies of the same quality of the emerald in the weapon he held in his hand, his left fist clenched the black and gold handle. The other angel still had yet to turn around, possibly still distracted by the ninja. The salt tang of the air was more palpable than he thought as he stood out this close to the bay, what was going through the second angels head as Sabre drew his weapon and stood there, what was he signaling as his hand went to his own sword hilt. He was fairly sure the fight would be mildly simple. The angel had the look of a fairly new person to the realm of combat, and his eyes portrayed the thoughts of somebody who couldn't hold his own. Perhaps this was a ploy, a bluff, or a natural conscious choice he had made to make himself seem inept.

The other angel he could not see, two on one might be semi-tricky to hold off, due to the angelic factor, but if they were unskilled he might be able to hold his own.

Roleun - September 23, 2006 10:23 PM (GMT)
He seems hostile... I wonder what he wants? Roleun thought to himself. He knew that he probably didn't want to fight this person, as he seemed to be proficient in the ways of combat, and Roleun had gotten a bit rusty from his lack of training for the past month. Besides, the man's longsword could probably cut Roleun's in half. Roleun shrugged. I'm more of a healer then a fighter, but I doubt that'd do much good at the moment. He shrugged. I might just be paranoid. He thought, smiling acutely. He gave a small wave.

Maktesh - September 24, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
Hmmm thought Maktesh, Roleun seems to be looking a bit strange. It was then that he noticed the strange green sparkle and the emerald hilted sword out of the corner of his eye. Might be hostile, hopefully not though. Either way I dont like having someone sneak up behind me unanounced like a coward. Probably another of them bigoted xenophobes who dont like half angels, or anything else diffrent from themselves for that matter. I'm not sure how this will play itself out but I do know one thing, it won't be doing it behind my back. With that final thought he quickly spread his large wings and with their dull white glow about him he drove himself upwards into the sky with a single powerful stroke and landed a distance behind the intruder. He deftly drew his two handed sword, hoping that the situation would not escalate into violence, regardless of what the stranger wanted. But anyways, if a throw down was what the stranger wanted then he would get it, and not catch Maktesh sleeping in the process.

Roleun - September 24, 2006 02:07 AM (GMT)
Roleun felt a surge of air as Maktesh jumped powerfully into flight. He landed a small distance from the stranger, sword drawn. "Uh oh... Something tells me that this won't end well..." He said to himself, slapping himself in the forehead. "Maktesh! Don't do anything you'd regret!" Roleun looked the stranger in the eyes, noting their ruby-like brilliance. "Hiya! What's your name?" He called to the stranger.

Maktesh - September 24, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
"I don't plan on doing anything that isn't warrented Roleun. I was just feeling a bit cramped, and don't much like the prospect of an armed man, elf or whatever sneaking up on me." Maktesh slowly lowered his sword, but did not put it away.

Roleun - September 24, 2006 03:29 AM (GMT)
Roleun shrugged, staring at the stranger. Something about his gaze reflected a deep disdain for the half-angels, but Roleun wasn't sure if that was a racial issue, or maybe he had been watching from afar and didn't like them for one of their actions. He stared hard into those piercing red eyes. The air was tense. Roleun shook his head. "I have no quarrel with you, thus I have no wish to engage." Roleun said, recalling what his training had taught him.

Nevermore - September 24, 2006 02:21 PM (GMT)
Without changing expression, Sabre's eyes shifted towards the second angel, who had only just realised he was there. "Before you get overconfident, he said as sinisterly as possible, "I could have already killed you before you turned around." The angel had a sense of showmanship to Sabre, what with the leaping, the twirling, the flashy drawing of the blade. The other one I'll leave alone he was thinking of Roleun, Unless he stupidly joins in. But this one... he left his thoughts hanging on the air, to be swept away with the small wind that seemed to almost plague this place. His left hand that held the blade now pointed through the air and straight at Maktesh like the finger of Death himself, and an unreadable expression was upon the angel's face. Sabre decided his ability to be ambidextrous was not quite there yet and he let the sword fall, apparently as if he were surrendering, but he swung his right hand down swiftly and caught it before it had fell even a mere two inches. Immediatelyafter the switch, he lunged, almost flew towards Maktesh, sword extended. He had the grace of a fencer, but the blade of a mercenary, or a modern day samurai. As the blade neared his prey's stomach, he shifted the tip up a second away and it aimed, instead towards the Angel's heart. Sabre had indeed hoped for a fatality, that the mix between his feint and his blade, and of the sudden speed of his rushing attack, would rip the life out of the angel he hared for practically no reason. Was he evil for this? No, he thought, I'm just doing what I have to! he thought so fiercely that his expression became one of stone, of an icy cold anger, and he thrusted his blade even harder. The angel would need some luck to get out of this one.

Roleun - September 24, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
Roleun watched in horror as Sabre lunged at Maktesh. Roleun found himself drawing his longsword and leaping powerfully in the air, pushing the air to move as fast as he possible could. He was over Sabre, who was nearing Maktesh, and he did the first thing that came to mind: He swung his sword to strike Sabre's emerald sword. With a ring of metal striking metal, his own sword glanced off Sabre's, moving the sword out of the path of Maktesh's heart. He flipped in midair and landed in front of Maktesh. "I won't allow useless bloodshed!" Roleun said forcefully. He raised his sword in a defensive stance, and, keeping eye contact with Sabre, asked Maktesh, "Maktesh, you ready?"

Maktesh - September 25, 2006 12:50 AM (GMT)
"Always Roleun. I don't want this bloodshed any more than you do, but he has made his choice. You could have killed me stranger, be you a coward." And with that he lept to the air and with the full force of his wings behind him he swung his two handed sword down towards the stranger.

Nevermore - September 25, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
Sabre remembered the advice given him in his old class about fighting more than one person and he grinned in malicious acknowledgement as Roleun had blocked his attempt on Maktesh's life. "This is going to be interesting!" he mumbled enthusiastically to himself. "You could have killed me stranger, be you a coward." Maktesh said, "Well at least we've got that cleared up then..." replied Sabre with a faint trace of sarcasm. If it was a two on one they wanted, it was they who were the cowards. Sabriel cared not, they were as rusty as he had imagined, if he had a partner here it would have all been over fairly shortly. But he would have to bleed them both dry by himself apparently, and that was a challenge he was willing to accept. He kept his thoughts and mind clear and his eyes on Maktesh, he had his peripheral vision upon Roleun and his eyes flittered towards him, he rotated his body just enough to see him attempt to make an attack if he should be so foolish. Then, turning his head towards Maktesh, Sabre assumed a stance both defensive and offensive, with his right foot forward, and his left foot slightly behind, both pointing towards the fight. He set his weapon so that the point was a little above his head and his hands almost rested upon his stomach. His eyes then flicked with rage and he spoke to Maktesh who called him a coward. "Just spare me the small talk and the useless name calling and die!" Sabre snarled viciously and he stepped back, his sword point low, waiting for another strike. Then Maktesh lept, a flaw he had apparently, as he seemed to enjoy using this technique alot. Sabre sidestepped the blade swing and swiftly stuck his sword out once more, it was a simple move, but would suffice if the body came down upon the blade of his graceful deathbringer.

Maktesh - September 25, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
Maktesh continued in flight past his foe as he sidestepped his swing. Landing shortly past him he raised his sword, "What is your quarrel with us? We have done you no wrong." Turning his head to Roleun he said, "I can tell you are not much of one for fighting Roleun, if you wish to sit this out I will not be offended."

Roleun - September 25, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
"You're right, I haven't trained for about a month, so my reflexes are a little slow, but I'm willing. I'm sure that none of us will leave here uninjured, so if either of you need healing, just tell me and I'll do my best to help out." Roleun said, looking at Sabre and Maktesh in turn.

Hayabusa - September 25, 2006 08:38 PM (GMT)
The young Ninja named Ryu Hayabusa was of duty now, his mercenary duties left at the start of the endless sands of the beach. He wanted to explore further the cave the Marina at Ëarsúl held. He had visited there before on a few occasions, his perfect vision and ability to see in the dark like it was day made it much easier for him than it may have others. He was taking in the breeze as the sun burned bright and warm on the ocean front. As he walked in the direction of the cave, he noticed some sort of flash of green from the general direction he walked in. Curious, he kept his eyes focused on the dock as he sped up a little. It was not until he got closer that he began to notice shapes near the dock, one of them, he reasoned, had to be the cause of the emerald light. He could make out three shapes now, the air seemed to be full of tension as he drew nearer. Something had to be going down soon. A battle? thought Ryu. Almost as to confirm this, one of the shapes, blue clad, with red hair by the looks of it, had lunged with a sword at one of the other figures with... wings? The blue clad warrior's weapon had apparently been the source of the flashing light. It was a tremendously beautiful sword, with glorious emeralds shimmering in the hilt and pommel. Ryu was awestruck for a second.

Ryu had stumbled across the scene by pure accident, and what he gathered was infuriating. He saw two apparent Angels, weapons in hand, in combat with the man clad in a blue cloak. After the crimson haired man struck, one angel blocked for the other, who promptly lept and struck out at his attacker. He saw some more familiar shimmering emerald colored light from the red headed stranger and the one angel used his muscular wings to propel himself through the air to strike. It was not long before Ryu's light, noiseless feet were tearing up the sand as he sprinted towards the scene. Some words were said but Ryu did not hear them, he was a firm follower of Threnody and the balance she brought. He could not let two attack one whatsoever the circumstance may be. Ryu was not sure of the story, all he saw was a lone warrior, outnumbered by two Celestial beings. He ran up from behind the ascended one, swept the Dragon Sword he carried out of its scabbard at his left hip and lept high into the air. When he was within reach of the Angel, he let his sword swing down swiftly, his goal was a near fatal stroke to the spinal area, one made to paralize at least.

Maktesh - September 26, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Without thinking about it Maktesh's combat reflexes kicked in. He really doesn't know where the come from, possibly his angelic heritage. Not that he knew anything of that or how to properly use it fot that matter. Or even if he had any celestial traits apart from his wings. Quickly without thinking he dodged the swinging sword. Unfortunatly, Maktesh is no master of combat. He managed to avoid any serious damage but recieved a long shallow cut across his back. Must be a buddy of this guy. What ever happened to the good old days when no one objected to a straight forward fight where no one sneaks up on each other and attacks without warning? Well, I guess with some honor is a thing of the past, best left to knights, Maktesh silently mused. With that he lept back a step and held his sword out in front of him rapidly beginning to wish this was a simple fistfight as he began to realize he was terribly outclassed as far as swordsmanship goes. Maktesh never had any formal training with the blade, although he sure knew his way around a good fisticuffs.

Roleun - September 26, 2006 01:37 AM (GMT)
Roleun saw a swift flash of metallic light. Oh no... More friends... He thought. The ninja sliced Maktesh on the back, but it was a shallow cut. Focusing his energy, he cast his only healing spell on Maktesh. The wound seemed to lessen and get smaller, but it wasn't much of a change. Roleun shook his head. Looking at the Ninja, he beckoned. "Hey, I think maybe you don't know what's going on. Here, come over here and I'll fill you in on what's happening. Besides, two on one isn't fair." He called to the new stranger.

Nevermore - September 26, 2006 02:51 AM (GMT)
Sabre had seen a shadow approach and he paid it some notice, as he could feel that it's power was noticeably greater than his, he hoped that the mysterious stranger was on his side. His hopes were confirmed, however, as the dark figure lept up like an eagle and delivered a great blow, one that would have been greater if it's full effect were not lessened by Maktesh moving forward slightly. He turned to the man, apparantly a Ninja, who had showed up at the absolute perfect time. He nodded in silent agreement and remembered the sword he carried particularly well, he had fought with this man on his side before, Hayabusa, if he recalled correctly. Maktesh seemed to find himself occupied with other things at the moment, so Sabre turned and half focused his attention on Roleun, though keeping a steady concentration on Maktesh as well. Roleun looked at Maktesh and cast a slight healing spell, not enough to improve Maktesh's condition that much, but it was still an annoyance. Sabres ruby-like eyes gleamed, almost as transparent as rubies their color was too, though they were far from tell-tale. He bared his almost fang like teeth as he spoke now, "You have wings..." he said, "I suggest you use them." his voice was malicious, and it was painfully obvious he was enfuriated at Roleun for interfering. Since he had heard about how rusty with a sword this one was, he decided a while back that given the opportunity, he would not kill him. Maiming or injuring he was not opposed to, even though this one bore a strong sense of innocence about him, he had still gotten in the way of Sabriel and a kill. His mind now bent on one of two paths, depending on what Roleun would next decide to do.

Hayabusa - September 26, 2006 03:07 AM (GMT)
"Hey, I think maybe you don't know what's going on. Here, come over here and I'll fill you in on what's happening. Besides, two on one isn't fair." the slightly smaller Angel had said to Ryu after his strike on the Flying one. Ryu's green eyes calculated the situation well, he had many thoughts in his head and many words to choose from, but he chose the most fitting ones, as he always did. "I know all I need to know, which I am willing to bet, is more than you do..." he left it a bit of a mystery, yes, but that was a thing the ninja aspect of his life had told him to do. He looked at the Angel he had just battered out of the sky and flicked the blood of his sword, which he then sheathed. Ryu had also noted that the man, who looked oddly familiar for some reason, would much more than likely move on to the other Angel, so his gaze lingered on Maktesh. "You do not seem adept with one of those," and he motioned to the sword Maktesh held in his hands. "Perhaps you would accept a fight with no steel involved?" he was a Ninja, and therefore did not think twice about his skills without his sword. And if by some twist in fate, his martial arts did fail, there was always his lightning summoning ability to fall back on.

Ryu caught the red haired man's eyes and his nod and nodded his acknowledgement back. Now he remembered, this mans name was Sabre. They had indeed fought on the same side before, on the same field of battle to be exact. Now it seemed a case of Deja Vu would break out. Oddly enough, the past fight was against a fallen Angel. "Well?" The Ninja asked, "What's it going to be?" and as he proposed the unarmed combat notion one more time, he unbelted his sword, letting it hit the sand, which sprayed up like a geyser as the scabbarded blade hit it. He kept his mask on, and his armor reinforced suit, there was no metal upon his knuckles, but there was some on his boots, and he resolved not to kick as much as he usually did, at least not with the metal. He cracked his knuckles and then his neck, then put himself into the tiger fighting stance he had used on many of his foes. The same stance the clan leader of the Hayabusa clan had tought him and the whole legion of trained killers before the rest were wiped out.

Roleun - September 26, 2006 01:33 PM (GMT)
"Ugh! Why can't anyone be nice today!? Fine. If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get." Roleun said, frustrated. "I don't understand why we're fighting, but I suppose it's unavoidable now." He whispered, his voice becoming sad. He spread his wings and launched into the air. Hovering over the ground, he assumed an aerial defensive stance.

Sabre frowned instinctively. That was not what he'd had in mind. He sighed and looked up at the now floating winged figure of Roleun. "I meant you ought to leave now, while you had the chance." he shouted. As Sabre spoke, he went for the leg of his quarry with his razor like sword edge. He had a feeling that the angelic instincts in Roleun would not let him run away from a comrade so easily, but to the death? Sabre wondered what it was with these pitiful creatures that made them so aggravating. Was it there insolent behavior to all things slightly on the dark side? Or it was possibly the fact that they were just so bloody good all of the time. Either way Sabriel disliked them, and now, in the salt stained Marina he had been wandering, he fought one, while Ryu of the Dragon Lineage, proposed a challenge to the other one. "You do not seem adept with one of those," said the ninja, and Ryu motioned to the sword Maktesh was wielding. "Perhaps you would accept a fight with no steel involved?"

Sabre was pretty sure Ryu could hold his own in unarmed combat, he had the training for it, and Sabre was not keen on telling either one of the two they fought about the destructive magic Ryu could execute, as Sabre was fairly certain the ninja would not be aversed to using some of it in a pinch, ninjas were mysterious individuals not opposed to stepping over boundary lines after all. Sabre on the other hand, was a brawler without his weapons. He had no specific skills but was more of a berserker, he would swing and fight, rolling on the floor if need be, and would not stop until his enemied were done for or he had literally been dismembered limb from limb.

Maktesh - September 27, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
"You don't know how welcome that suggestion is ninja. I'm no martial atrist but i know how to wrestle, and it may not seem to angelic of me, but I love a good brawl." With that he sheathed his sword and removed it along with his now ripped shirt. His muscles bulging he crouched into a wrestler's stance. "Eh, not that I'm an angel mind you. I try to follow the way of light, but hey, these wings are about the only thing celestial about me." Slightly swaying back and forth Maktesh lunged forward onto a single knee, shooting up with the ninja's leg in a death grip against his chest. Rapidly his options flashed through his mind. Maktesh settled on a simple result, not knowing his foe and being on a beach, he opted out of the rolling wrestling match of tradition and simply threw his oponnents leg upwards into the air, his large muscles bulging with the effort. With that he dropped back a couple of feet to see how the ninja would react, hoping that he would lose his balance and fall.

"No chance I'd leave a friend to die!" Roleun shouted as Sabre swung his sword at Roleun's leg. Roleun moved his sword down to block it, but he underestimated his foe. The edge still cut through the fabric in Roleun's pants and made a small cut on his lower leg. He shrugged. "Besides, I won't let anyone kill anyone else in this fight, either. Whether you be on the side of light or darkness, you have a life, which is priceless." He said, knowing he was preaching unto deaf ears. He raised his sword and thrust it at Sabre's arm, attempting to make it useless.

(I think that's considered power playing, but I'll let it go)

Ryu's balance was lost and he went for the ground, effortlessly however, he let his hands hit first and he flung himself high into the air, flipping once, and landing gracefully and catlike back onto his feet. "Is that it?" Ryu asked slightly disapointedly. "I was hoping for more than that..." He said honestly, the move was so easily escaped by somebody acrobatic, and Ryu loved fighting a wrestler, they were all about power and luck. Whereas martial artists such as himself were all for speed and technique. This one ought to be over shortly, thought Ryu. He was even contemplating not using lighting. "Do you know anything about peopel of my trade?" Ryu asked, there had been one here before, if he or she was still here Ryu did not bother to imagine. His hands snapped right back into the tiger formation he had had them in earlier, his feet going right in front of left, pointing at Maktesh, one off slightly to the side as his torso crouched down kind of low so he had the perfect formation to respond to one or make a strike himself. "We tumble and flip alot..." he said shortly and simply, a trifle blunt but it got the point across. "Throw me again and see for yourself that you could just as easily come with me." he boasted. Making sure of his distance, he stepped slowly towards Maktesh, sort of circling him like a falcon his prey. When he was near enough, he decided that it was simple to flip over the head of Maktesh, then aim for the neck with a kick. He began looking over the Angel, picking the best spots to strike, the ranges of motion his arms and legs would have, the damage taking one of his hits would do. If Maktesh lunged, Ryu had him where he wanted him.

The Ninja lept suddenly, spin-flipping over the head of his enemy, but not so far as to miss the strike, when he reached the ideal spot, Ryu slammed his foot down through the air with as much strength as he would conjure, aiming for the spot where the neck met the rest of the spine at the weakest point. Yet another move made to snap bone and most likely paralyze or kill. Before contact was made, Ryu began some very fast thinking. The man had eluded his fatal sword attack that he did not know was coming, who was to say he would not do the same now for the kick? He immediatley thought of what to do should this move fall through, multi-tasking for a moment in the second or two before his attack proved mortal or not.

"No chance I'd leave a friend to die!" Roleun shouted with some gusto, soon cut down a small amount as a minor cut had sprouted on his leg from Sabres own blade. Nothing of any importance whatsoever he had noted personally. "Besides, I won't let anyone kill anyone else in this fight, either. Whether you be on the side of light or darkness, you have a life, which is priceless."
Sabre sighed as he listened to Roleun talk about friendship, life being precious no matter who you were and other sweet things like that, which reminded him...Celestial beings were the most evil things he could possibly think of. He tried not to be sick for a moment, and then the sword thrust towards his arm came. A quick flick of his long bladed deathbringer had deftly parried the blow and he stared at Roleun once again. He held his sword in the defensive position the samurai chose to use more often than not. Roleuns words had resounded in his brain, particularly the part about not letting anybody die. If Ryu so chose to, he could kill all three of them single handedly, nothing they could do about it unless they got severly lucky. Also, what if Sabre were to kill Roleun? How then would Roleun be able to say he would not let anybody be killed? Sabre decided to voice that. "How do you plan to make sure nobody dies, when you are busy trying to stop your own blood from making a river in the sand?" he asked directly, his voice taking on it's former crystal clear tone. Not the harsh growl he had used when he was angered by the words and actions of the duo. Before the words could echo, Sabre lunged his sword again, it's menacing steel tip shot out in the stop-thrust maneuver that was aimed directly at Roleun's mid section. All worries about fatalities were now off.

Roleun - September 27, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
Roleun flew back a few feet swiftly, narrowly avoiding the sword thrust to his middle. "You're right, if I were to die, then that would prove my pledge false..." He said quietly. "But why do you want to kill us in the first place? Do you want to kill me because of my heritage, or simply from a carnal hunger for death? Do you have something against me, some grudge from long ago?" He shook his head. "Well, then. How about this: I pledge in the name of my divine father, Roekun, and on the grave of my mother, Aria, I shall not die, and I shall do what I can to save any other's life." He looked Sabre in the eyes, noting the contrast between Sabre's ruby eyes and his own icy irises, and smiled.

"I think I have an idea of why you hate me so much. You must've had a run-in with your stereotypical angel, one of false rightousness and an immense ego. Well, I guess I'll teach the world, one inhabitant at a time, that I am not your stereotypical angel." He said, thinking of the descrimination back in his hometown. Wow, I'm talking a lot today... He noted.

Roleun decided to finish off his speech. "Besides, anyone with a semi-dark alignment seems to want a sight of my blood, for some strange reason." He assumed the defensive position once again and said a silent prayer, hoping to come through this ordeal alive.
