Title: New Affiliate Buttons

Lothlómendil - September 11, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
I slaved for several hours today, making some new affiliate buttons for Arda. ^_^ They may seem small, but that's the standard button size on the internet, apparently. You can look at this topic to see all the affiliate buttons we have, and to get the codes for putting them on your website. :)

The three new buttons are these:

Green & Brown Dragon ("Mossy")

Blue Dragon ("Misty")

It's always been that green, I have no idea why you saw so much brown before! :frantic: *Lothlómendil pokes your eyes :poke:

Obsidian Nocturne - September 11, 2006 12:55 AM (GMT)
What's with the sudden obsession with affiliate button-making?

Lothlómendil - September 11, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
I just made some because I had a distinct lack of ones that were the right size for a lot of internetty things. I wanted a small variety, and now I want to test my Photoshop skills. I've always been HORRIBLE at making designy stuff - it's a miracle I made 3 images worth keeping. :p

Steve Phalar - September 11, 2006 01:01 AM (GMT)
Sweet... it's hard to decide which one I want to put on my site though...

Obsidian Nocturne - September 11, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
rofl not bad! try this technique on some image you want to look a wee bit more....... vibrant

duplicate the image and set the upper layer to "overlay" under ze blending options. If ya want it dreamy... set a 4.0 gaussian blur on the lower layer ;)

Tanov - September 11, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
firey looks like it would be good to use on my site. Nice work Loth!

ManOWar2 - September 11, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
Realy cool Ill add one to my site! I wish I could make those

Demetrio Vasquez - September 11, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
That's awesome! Nice Work Loth!

Sanzen - September 11, 2006 01:10 PM (GMT)
The buttons look good :D

Maybe I'll add them to some other website I have, or when I am encouraged enuf to try and follow Lothy's footsteps of managing a site ^_^

Lothlómendil - September 11, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
They're also great for putting in your signatures if you are a member at another forum that allows you to do so. ^_^

Kieraline - September 11, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
For such a small space to work with, the artwork is quite impressive! I've never been one to be able to work in such small dimensions.

Dengar - September 11, 2006 03:39 PM (GMT)
Teh funk! The first one is a lot better in colour now because it didn't match up that well when it was blue like before. Congratz!

Well, I didn't make the animal pictures, if that's what you're talking about. I took some images from our shops and banner and chopped them up, doing stuff to them and put them in my buttons. ^_^

Zenith Meria - September 11, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
They still all look amazing ^_^

Nope. I meant the manipulation of everything into the space restrictions. I often find it more of a challenge to get the graphics, colors and necessary wording all to mix in, without looking cramped in small spaces. ;)

Obsidian Nocturne - September 12, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
The trick sometimes is to work on a canvas roughly quadruple the size that way you can estimate if things are a tad bit getting crowded before shrinking to the actual dimensions.

Lothlómendil - September 12, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
Meh, I never used a canvas larger than the final image size.

Puppet Boy - September 12, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Awesomeness Loth. You truly did a great job.

P.S. I have no clue what an "affiliate" button is.

Obsidian Nocturne - September 12, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
it's a button that you place into your personal site to refer to another site that may have inspired you in the process of making your own. :)

Nah, they really don't imply inspiration. It's more like, "they have a nice site, and we're friends, check them out if you like." And they're not just for if you have your own site, you can put them in your signatures on boards where you're a member or whatever. ^_^

Puppet Boy - September 12, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
Sweet I place one in my sigs on other sites then. Hopefully, I can bring in some friggen awesome Rpers from another site I know of.

Aelita - September 13, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)

Scipio - September 13, 2006 08:58 AM (GMT)
