Title: Wandering the woods
Description: Hope you like rodents(Open)

Kuriboh - September 9, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
Kuriboh lived in the woods, he loved the different smells, noises, sights and the new events each day. At the moment he was asleep on a thick branch some meters off the floor, his body rose and fell wsith each breath he took. After a while the loud snort of some animal woke him and he toppled off the branch surprised. He hit the ground and rolloed onto his side before flipping himself up and rubbing the highest point of his head he could reach with such small claws. He got to his feet and looked about, the sun was shining through the branches and the different leaves tinted the light making it shine in different shades of orange. He floated into the air and glided around above the ground, becuase he weighed nothing the laws of gravity didn't seem to affect him and so far he'd got no complaints from the physics police. He giggled at his own joke. He landed beside a berry bush and picked one out popping it into his unseeable mouth, he chewed it for a few seconds before deciding it tasted good and began wolfing down the rest. He stopped at the sound of a loud crack. He looked up from his breakfast and immediatly jumped behind the bush as a stampeed of random animals ran past in a panic. He peeked out from his hiding place when it had cleared and hopped down onto the path looking left and right. He glided back into the air following the sound of the crack. He came across a small foal caught in an animal trap. Kuriboh floated down beside it looking up at it, the foal was struggling to get free but was only succeeding in damaging its leg even more. Kuriboh examined the trap carefully and kicked it. It sprang open and the foal ran off after its mother. Kuriboh watched it go and looked down at the trap he leat a bit closer and it snapped shut again infront of him, he leapt back surprised and flew up into a tree. After cowering there for a few seconds he glided back down beside the trap and poked it; it didn't go off again so Kuriboh thought he'd better get rid of it somehow. He noticed a chain extending from it atached into a stake in the ground he pulled it up almost falling over in the process, bieng only a foot high was of little advantage. He picked the trap up by the chain incase it snapped at him again and flew off struggling to keep in the air with the added weight of the trap. Eventually he found a small lake and tossed it in, it landed in the water with a large splash startling several fish. Kuriboh landed on the bank exausted, he felt about dropping back to sleep again when he heard footsteps neraby. Startled he leapt into the air, if it was the owner of the trap they wouldn't be happy. So Kuriboh looked for a place to hide, the nearest place was the water. He closed his eyes and blue sparks floated around him before enveloping him completely and vanishing; Kurinoh had suddenly become the water based Aqua Kuriboh. He dropped below the water and sat on the bottom staring up at the surface and ignoring the fish seeing if his fur was good enough to eat.

Hikari - September 16, 2006 01:54 PM (GMT)
((Might I suggest you use seperate paragraphs...every fith or sixth line perhaps?))

The smell of the enclosed woods was a most peculiar scent to Hikari, as he ventured further into the thicket of trees. The fragrance of fresh rain, damp wood, it all smelt so good to Hikari, and it put his mind at ease, knowing that there still were such places on Arda, where one’s mind could be calmed and relaxed, even in such turbulent times. The forest it seemed, had always been an enigma to Hikari, more so now than anything.

As he walked further into the forest, brushing past the small bushes of overgrown vegetation, his footprints gently depressing the moss covered ground, he came across a strange site; an imprint in the ground…but the imprint itself, was of an unusual shape…one quite alien to the forest, at least in Hikari’s own eyes.

Crouching down on one knee, Hikari removed his gloves, and placed his hand over the imprint, gently stroking the flattened grass and uneven moss. Moving his hand up to his face, he inspected it with great interest, rubbing together in his fingers a strange, mushy material. After a few rubs, the material had dissolved, and left an orangish residue across his fingers. The material could only be one thing; rust. But why would there be rust deposits in the middle of an uncharted forest?

Hikari stood up placing his glove across his hand once more, looking around the area intently for sign of activity. It was odd that there was rust deposits in the forest, of that there was no doubt, but stranger still was that there were signs that the object had been moved recently. Most creatures in the forest wouldn’t dare approach a metallic object, so the creature that did remove it, must’ve been of the sentient variety…had a mind of it’s own that is.

Hikari began walking forwards more, when he heard what he made out to be a splash in some type of water. Perhaps the creature who moved the object was near the water, and there, Hikari could put to rest his paranoia, and even uncover the mysterious threat.

Kuriboh - September 16, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
Kuriboh could still hear the footsteps approaching through the water and the fish were tickling him, he waved them away hurridly making several ripples in the water. If the stranger came too close he'd see Kuriboh at the bottom and there didn't look like there was anywhere else to hide. Kuriboh waved away another fish nibbling at his toe. He didn't think very fast in aqua form, especially when there was water in his ears. Looking up he wondered what the person would want to trap innocent animals for, they'd never done anything to him.

Sitting in dirty water was extremely annoying, dirt and other bits kept sticking to his fur. Kuriboh sighed slightly. He felt something large and slimey passs right across his back, he immediatly leapt forwards away from it; it was a black fish that was large enough to swallow him. Kuriboh gulped, it hadn't seemed to have noticed him but it turned around and immedaitly spotted him.

It swan at him and Kuriboh leapt to the side, several blue sparks floated off him and vanished in the water, his morph was wearing off in his panic. He leapt over the fish kicking its head onto the floor and more sparks floated off him. The fish seemed to have been killed by his assault. Kuriboh breathed a sigh of releif and suddenly realised that he couldn't breath, his panic had cuased his morphing to reverse. He began to panic again and immediatly shot off towards the surface ladning clumsily on the bank and shaking himself dry, he looked up to see the stranger standing closeby.
"Er, hi?"
he said nervousley.

Hikari - September 17, 2006 10:46 AM (GMT)
Hikari’s pace started to quicken the moment his ear’s picked up the rustling in the water, the small drops splashing back and fourth across it’s glistening surface. He was about to confront what was leaving such strange devices, metal even, in the middle of the forest, or at least whatever removed it. Whoever, or whatever had carried out the deed, was sure to be making those sounds. There was just too much evidence pointing to the culprit…well, that the culprit was nearby at any rate.

Of course, Hikari was begging to think what he was going to say after he had indeed found the one responsible. It would be quite awkward for him to find some peasant bathing on the beach, some random person just relaxing near the water’s edge, enjoying the sun‘s warm glare, and then to be confronted by a total stranger, a ninja even. After all, this person, or creature could’ve just been watching out for the small woodland creatures that passed by in the area, perhaps removing the object, or device for a good reason.

Hikari stopped in his tracks when he neared a small grove of bushes, the beach, the water just on the other side of them. Now it seemed, more than ever, was the moment of truth; to keep moving forward, and find this…thing, or to just turn around and walk away, leaving the situation alone. Curiosity after all, did kill that cat…or at least that’s how the old tail went. Perhaps this would be different though, perhaps Hikari’s curiosity would bode well results? But then again, perhaps the old tale did hold some merit…

Hikari, gently rotating his neck back forth, from one shoulder to the next, made his decision; that was, to see, find this…whatever. Taking just a few more steps, his feet leaving the mossy, grass covered surface of the forest floor, now entering across a warm, almost hot sandy area, he came across what he sought out. Lying before him, was some sort of creature, one the likes Hikari has never seen before. It was covered in a thick, brown fur, and was round as a ball, with large eyes, and what appeared to be no mouth.

Hikari froze for a moment, his head slowly moving backwards in a sign of awe, and confusion at the creature. Rather dejectedly, he spoke in a modest tone, as not to frighten, or anger the strange thing. “Excuse me, but what are you doing here?”
