Title: Weapon / Armor Suggestions
Description: Post them here if you have them.

Lothlómendil - August 28, 2006 06:35 AM (GMT)
If you have ideas for weapons or armor, magical or mundane, post them here. These are popularly suggested things, so they can all go in one topic instead of starting a new one for each suggestion.

Please do not suggest items with general abilities, such as "infused with lightning / chaos / whatever" or "does fire / ice / whatever damage." Also do not suggest items that do something another item or spell already does.

And again, do NOT debate the suggestions. Just post your suggestions and let the admins sort it. I am tired of reading through pages of arguing with no suggestions.

I think it would be nice if there was a variety of magic weapons. What I mean is, not every magical weapon is a sword. Axes, flails, maces, bows, tridents... we have regular and masterwork versions of these items, but not magical ones! The magical ones don't need to have the same effects as the magical swords do (that would make them merely a copycat, just a different image). They need to be unique, but the option should be out there for people who enjoy different fighting styles. I have a dwarf character who would never be seen carrying a sword B)

Omurn - March 16, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
Sickle? Sickle could be quite a nice weapon for an assassin, sneak up on someone and you have an instant beheading? A nice addition to a druids inventory as well. :)

Sir Caius Lucius - May 22, 2008 07:37 AM (GMT)
Why not see swords and weapons that are know classics to be purchased. You like Durandal, Excalibur, Save the Queen, Choas Blade... The list goes on and on. It would be nice to be able to pick up a weapon that is known in real legend and use it.

How about a shield that can reflect a elemental attack. You know absorb a fire blast and shoot it back at the caster?

Winter - May 31, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)

Cloak of Dispel: While worn this cloak weakens the effect of magic on the user, weaker spells are nullified but more powerful spells are simply weakened depending on the strength of the spell or the abilities of the caster. The cloak only affects areas of the body that are covered.

user posted image
Helm of Alterness: Allows the wearer to feel the movements of others in the air about them, people with the alterness feat will be able to detect minute detail such as the movement of an arm or a mouse running across the floor.

user posted image
Vamparic Gauntlets: When the gloves absorb the blood from an open cut on the wearer their strength and speed will increase slightly, however they may eventually faint from blood loss or become blood drunk and lose focus.

user posted image
Moon armor: During the day this armor appears as an ordinary linen shirt, however in shadows or moonlight it will form into an elegant blue armor.

user posted image
Ancient Dwarven Warhammer: An old hammer once used to make enchanted weapons that has absorbed the magic essence from its creations. Should it get struck by a spell it will give the wielder the ability to cast that spell once for each time it was struck.

Wooden Sword - A cheap but effective sword that can knock someone out if used well enough.

Saxon Stonesoul - June 3, 2008 07:07 AM (GMT)
I've been thinking; and though Arda is set in a fantasy realm, I've thought of a general weapon that is not on Arda (:o!). A Blunderbus. They're very common among pirates: and just thought Arda could use some. I'm not talking advanced infantry here, just plain ol' blunderbuses and pistols.

Short Sword - well it is a classic. Plus I do believe that they were commonly used by archers way back in the day.

Shintai - June 4, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
Dwarven Axe: A heavy two-handed axe with sharp edges that can break an arm completely off.
Master's Mallet: A warhammer that can sometimes be incredibly strong, or hurt less than a tickle.

emperor - June 20, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
Ranger's Tunic - a tunic that is made for camoflage! (no this is not magical)

Wizard's hat - a wide brimmed pointed hat (think gandalf's hat) that slightly increases the wearers magical strength. (Should not to be confused with the wizards cap, as it only increases a wearer's magical power slightly, it is not alive, and looks far better in comparison.)

Hood - A accesory often worn with cloaks and capes. It can provides shade from a hot sun or can keep one from getting wet on a rainy day. It can also be used to conceal one's identity too. Plus, it just looks cool! Particularly favored by wraiths, thieves, necromancers, and rangers.

Frontestro - June 20, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
I just think we need more weapons overall. Such as Staves of elemental magic and swords that have enchantments. Heck while were at it we might as well have race specific weapons.

Corvalt - June 24, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
Aghanim: That staff would be perfect for Corvalt. :w00t:

Emp: Well, we have that Ice Shield or w/e...but that's pretty much it. Nice one! ^_^

Winter: I like the Moon Armor! ^_^ It'd be perfect for assassins and such. :shifty:

Here's my suggestion: how about a suit of armor that is completely transparent? It would be made of enchanted diamond and would thus be incredibly effective in battle while making it look like you were an easy target. :shifty:

Amras Arnatuilë - June 24, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
Most of these weapons are here in some way, shape or form. Broadswords can be just about any sword - it just signifies the shape of the blade. Essentially a longsword can be a broadsword, if it's blade is broad enough. Not only that, but there are shortswords already in the basic sword shop. There are also enchanted weapons in the Mithril forge and Deity shops, which can be combined to make special weapons. As for staves, though, that is a good thought. Staves combining elemental magic would make a good addition. Although there is one staff already in one of the shops that amplifies the power of all elemental spells, it doesn't have a particular discharge. However, there are magic wands that command elemental spells, and if you wanted an elemental staff all you would have to do is combine one of the staves with a wand that shoots an elemental attack.

And not only that other things like camoflauge cloaks and stuff are essentially already here. You just have to know where to look. The magical items shop has a plethora of special cloaks and such, and as a creative rule just because you buy a cloak doesn't mean you have to wear it as a cloak, unless it has special requirements. Essentially, one of the elven cloaks could be a ranger's tunic if it was cut up and stitched back together.

Corvalt - June 25, 2008 02:19 AM (GMT)
...good point. Still, you have to admit the transparent armour was a good suggestion. :D

Amras Arnatuilë - June 25, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
How would you know how to find it when you wanted to put it on? :p

Delki - June 25, 2008 03:24 PM (GMT)
Well it could be expected to become visible if removed :r

Zilfer - June 27, 2008 08:38 AM (GMT)
While i know we already have a lightning blade i'd like to see one that doesn't just spark anyone's hand who tries to touch it. So i suggest something like this.

Lightning blade - When the sword is picked up by the owner/weilder it lights up with an electrical current, which will only react to the owner/weilder, and shock anyone else who touches it. Inaddition the user of the weapon can send out small bolts of lightning from the blade discharging it at a target. However in order to keep the blade charged after discharging the blade absorbs the mana of the user to keep the electrical current flowing throughout the blade.

I've also been thinking of a blade of air, now mind you this one is extremely cheap so i dont know if it will get excepted.

Blade of Air - this magical hilt allows the user to form a blade of condensed air making it sharp enough and sometimes depending on the user sharper then a normal sword. This blade can phase through swords enemies use to block easily surprizing an enemy for a clean blow, however is solid enough to block a blow from the enemies weapon.

The Illusion/Striped blade - Either the blade is striped so it appeared to be shorter then it actually is, throwing off your opponent's eyes, or the enchanted blade has a spell that makes it seem shorter then it really is letting you surprize your opponent with it's reach.

just a few suggestions, alright bye. ^.^
