Title: "We don't want you here!"
Description: Private (Shalura)

Snow - August 27, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
His white tail swished softly back and forth, and his claws drummed on the table in a melancholy fashion. His ears perked up every time the drunkards singing into he corner hit a bad note, which meant that they were up almost constantly. However, those who were not drunk out of their wits were glaring at the tiger man with ferocity. Snow tried to ignore it. This is just how people are... He told himself, trying in vain to appear less large and intimidating. All it did was make him look like he was going to pounce.

His tail, trailing on the ground in the small seat he was in, caused one man to trip. By instinct, Snow moved to catch his fall. This was just one possible response to a no-win situation. "Aah! What the h*** are you doing, you crazy monster?! Get away from me!" The man stumbled backwards, perhaps drunk, perhaps simply acting. No matter what the reason, it worked.

"Hey! What'd you do to him?!" One of them shouted. "Leave him alone, ya bully!" Shouted another. Soon, Snow was surrounded by people jabbing at him, and yet, at the same time, making the situation progressively worse. "H-He... he tripped!" Snow tried to explain. "Yeah, and I bet that YOU tripped him!" "No, he didn't trip him! You remember how he was sitting! He was going to maul him!" "Yeah! You're right! Somebody get the watch!" And, in a matter of seconds, it went from an unintentional tripping to Attempted Murder. The guard soon arrived. You bet they would at the report of a tiger man who was about to tear a man limb from limb.

By then, the patrons had dragged Snow outside. He could have easily broken free, but that would've only made matters worse. "What happened here?" "Oh, thank the gods you're here! That... that thing was about to eat me alive!""What?! I-I'd never...!" "Is that what happened?" The group responded with resounding yes's. "Well, due to the Reliable Witness Act laid out by Captain Picard, since we can easily find 10 or more witnesses who said that you did, no courts will be involved, and you will be executed immedietly. Unless, of course, someone can prove that he is innocent."

I chose a bad day to start drinking...

Shalura - August 28, 2006 01:36 PM (GMT)
Shalura hated pubs like this, and it was a last resort for her to come here. She didn't have anywhere to live herself and the inn was always open for her. But it was the pub she couldn't stand, the place smelled as awfull as the singing, Shalura barely touched her water and was more interested in the scratchings on the table, most were random but there was the occasional I love ? enscribed in a heart shape or 'Derik woz ere'. She leaned back on her chair and looked up at a scuffle sound and several yells. She looked over, a humaniod tiger was sitting in a chair and had spun round to catch someone who had apparently tripped over his tail, the man was yelling at the tiger and soon a large crowd had gathered yelling at him. Shalura rolled her eyes and thanked the Gods she wasn't human, they were utter idiots. As far as she could see the tiger had done nothing except prevent a careless drunk from getting a bleeding nose, some were trying to accuse him of trying to maul him. Shalura stood up and walked outside away from the noise and comotion. She'd seen odder things than this everywhere. Soon a man ran out of the pub and came back with a guard of some sort.
"Oh great now they're getting silly" Shalura muttered.
The guard dragged the tiger out.
"What happened here?"
"Oh, thank the gods you're here! That... that thing was about to eat me alive"
"What?! I-I'd never...!"

Shalura looked up, the stammering wasn't acting and this tiger didn't look like the mauling sort, for one his expression wasn't dark or chaotic and he'd probably have mauled the guard by now.
"Well, due to the Reliable Witness Act laid out by Captain Picard, since we can easily find 10 or more witnesses who said that you did, no courts will be involved, and you will be executed immedietly. Unless, of course, someone can prove that he is innocent."
"Well considering most of the witnesses were looking the other way, the victim was drunk and you're human so you assume what you're told then I'd say no" Shalura snapped at him hardly standing them anymore.
She ignored several hard stares in her direction.
"And you think your better do you? the man who'd tripped snapped.
Shalura sighed and a pair of bright blue wings gerw from her back suddenly and her pupils slitted.
"Certainly looks like it doesn't it" She said "now let him go, he's done nothing"

Snow - August 28, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
"Well considering most of the witnesses were looking the other way, the victim was drunk and you're human so you assume what you're told then I'd say no." Snow's ears perked up. He hadn't expected anyone to defend someone like him.
"And you think your better do you?" Snow almost laid the man out flat right there, but restrained himself. Didn't anyone obey the laws of chivalry anymore?
"Certainly looks like it doesn't it" Snow's eyes widened when her wings emerged. He had seen the wings of an angel, as Zenith was not one to hide them. But hers were different. They were... dragon wings. "now let him go, he's done nothing"

The guard, apparently far too intimidated to try to oppose two non-humans, nodded slowly, and walked off, breaking into a sprint after turning the corner. The rest of the crowd followed suit.

Snow breathed a sigh of relief, and turned towards the dragon-girl. "Thank you. I probably owe you my life." He extended his massive paw in greeting. "My name is Snow."

(Sorry about the short post I have to go.)

Shalura - August 28, 2006 01:58 PM (GMT)
"Don't mention it" Shalura said shaking the hand, it felt warm and leathery underneath "I don't like drunks that much, especially a large gaggle of them. Oh, my name's Shalura nice to meet you"
She ignored the loud muttering of several people as best she could but was still greatly tempted to slice their heads off, even though she was part himan she couldn't stand pure humans, especially drunk ones. Which was partly due to the fact that she hadn't been told she was half dragon for 13 years and stolen from her parents.
"Well, I doubt they'll leave you in peace here again" she said "but why were they so accusative of you? he wasn't looking where he was going"

Snow - August 29, 2006 11:16 AM (GMT)
"Don't mention it" Her hand felt almost... scaly. Not on a particularly notable level, and if he were a human, he'd probably have not noticed it. But it was there."I don't like drunks that much, especially a large gaggle of them. Oh, my name's Shalura nice to meet you"
Snow had to agree with that, but for different reasons than the obvious, unstated ones. Alcohol blinded people not only of the truth, but of their own behavior. And it actually didn't taste all that good. It tasted like stale fruit to Snow. Some things he would just never understand. "Well, I doubt they'll leave you in peace here again" And some things he would. "but why were they so accusative of you? he wasn't looking where he was going"

"It's nothing new to me. It's because of my appearance. In fact, I believe I've pinned their train of thought. It starts with "this thing looks different than me", jumps leaps and bounds to "it must be a monster", takes a small skip around the corner to "it's gonna eat me!", and that's where I lose it. Human instinct is far beyond my comprehension. But, that's enough of that."

He felt uncomfortable towering above her. It was normal for most people, but she had just saved his life. And, as he had just learned, kneeling or trying to scrunch down was no good, either. So, reluctantly, he stayed as he was. "Is there any way at all that I can pay you back? It wouldn't feel right to just walk away right now. I mean, I'd be strapped to a guillotine by now if you hadn't shown up."

"No thanks" Shalura said "I just like to see things put right, but I'm not all that good at it though. I already have a psyco clone from a different dimension chasing after me. Well let's lets just say you owe me a favour for the time birng okay?"

"No thanks" "I just like to see things put right, but I'm not all that good at it though. I already have a psyco clone from a different dimension chasing after me. Well let's lets just say you owe me a favour for the time birng okay?"

"An evil psycho clone? Well, sounds like we are stuck in similar situations. I've got a problem with someone who's quite a bit like me, and something tells me that whatever created me also created him." He nodded as she mentioned a favor. "Alright. A favor it is. But, just so you know, I'm going to be stingy about what I consider that "favor". It's going to have to be parralel on importance with saving my life, so when you drop your coin purse, make sure it's not completely empty." That had been a poor attempt at a joke that belittled his self-worth. Though it was a little hard to tell if he actually felt that way about himself or just had an odd sense of humor.

(It's getting hard to type just dialogue, as my 197 word post indicates. Should something/someone attack? And if so, what? Angry townsfolk? An ogre on 'roids? Carrot Top?)

Shalura - September 1, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
((I have the same problem, take your pick))

"An evil psycho clone? Well, sounds like we are stuck in similar situations. I've got a problem with someone who's quite a bit like me, and something tells me that whatever created me also created him."
"Typical" Shalura muttered "can't evil people just leave us alone for a change"
"Alright. A favor it is. But, just so you know, I'm going to be stingy about what I consider that "favor". It's going to have to be parralel on importance with saving my life, so when you drop your coin purse, make sure it's not completely empty." Snow said.
"Don't worry" Shalura said failing to notice the humor "I don't carry a purse, I don;t have that many coins to put in there anyhow"

Snow - September 1, 2006 08:01 PM (GMT)
(Ohhh Carrot top! C'mere boy!)

"If they left us alone, what would we do with all the free time that we had?" he said plainly, now feeling downright jovial. "Adversity strengthens us. It's a good thing, whether we want to accept that or not. Not an easy thing, but definetly a good one." Snow had said "we" because, if he had said "you" or "I", it would have sounded exclusive.

Snow was actually in a good mood, but, as usual, it didn't last long. His ears twitched and he absentmindedly turned in the direction that most of the townspeople had gone in. Most of them went that way. Most of them went the same direction! Why didn't I notice before? He may have figured it out, but the sound that had alerted him of the townspeople's grouping was too little, too late. The shouts of anger that were now in hearing distance of normal ears, and the fusilade of running feet were the tell-tale signs of something that Snow experienced many times when he was younger. A mob...

Sure enough, right around the corner came massive waves of people, all wielding farm implements of some kind. By the frenzy of their shouts, and the fact that most of them were charging at something about two feet taller than them, Snow knew that they were out for blood. His blood. He had to be quick. He just hoped that his appearance and their blind fury overcame his bad acting.

"Foolish mortals!" He bellowded, turning towards the people and standing to his full height, trying to appear menacing. "So, you wish to destroy me? Catch me, and I will consider you worthy of the chance!" With that, he bounded down an alley, leading the crowd away from Shalura as best he could. I've got to hurry. I can't let her get caught in the crossfire.

Shalura - September 1, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
((Oh brother ^_^; ))

"If they left us alone, what would we do with all the free time that we had? Adversity strengthens us. It's a good thing, whether we want to accept that or not. Not an easy thing, but definetly a good one."
"Yeah, guess so" Shalura muttered "but it wouldn't hurt to have a bit of peace and quiet for a change"
She didn't noticed Snow's ears twitch or his sudden aletivness, Snow's senses were obviousely faster than Shalura's probably because she was only half dragon and didn't hear the sound of a mob till Snow was already waiting for them, she pushed herself upright and looked beyond him. Soon a massive wave of people came round the corner with the typical angry mod supplies, too many for Shalura to count and certainly to many for her to fight.
"Great" she muttered "the one time it's not orcs or vampires and it's something that my magic isn't super affective against, talk about Irony. Snow? Oh brother"
Snow was at his full (and considerable) height staring down the mobsters.
"Foolish mortals!" he grolwed.
Shalura looked up at him, she usually never heard a comment like that from people like snow, certainly alot of people, most enemies and only one a friend. It would more convince them that snow was a monster.
"So, you wish to destroy me? Catch me, and I will consider you worthy of the chance!"
"Er, ever heard of discretion is the better part of valor?" She said.
Snow turned and ran off leading the mob away, Shalura flattened herself against the wall to prevent herself bieng flattened.
"Okay" she gasped "I guess that sort of counts"
After the large crowd finally cleared Shalura was able to breath properly again, which was worrying because she had begun to turn the wrong shade of blue.
"Great, there going to drive him out again" Shalura muttered "glad I'm only half human, but I never though I'd be taking on the worse half of my kind"
She closed her eyes and her blue dragon wings unfolded from her back again, her eyes slitted beneath her lids and blue scales grew on her skin, now blunt weapons were inaffective against her unless they went for the wings membrane and her sight was enhanced by almost 3 times. She beat her wings and took off folllowing the mob and Snow.
"I hope I know what he's doing" Shalura muttered "I don't want the peopke thinking they're up against two monsters"
