Title: Something Other than Driftwood
Description: Private (-Phoenix-)

BehindtheScenes - August 23, 2006 11:01 PM (GMT)
The crimson reds and yellows of early sunset danced across the western waters, the swelling tide advancing the shimmering cascade of color with every wave. Amongst the sparkling waters was an unusually high amount of driftwood. From the consistency of the build and shape of the wood, it could be assumed that it was the remains of a ship, caught by the tide and brought to shore.

As the pieces of wreckage, one by one, settled on the soft sand, a particularly large one, bearing a passenger, came to rest. The wood was unremarkable, aside from it's large size, and wide surface area. What was unusual was the item that clung to it. A figure, soaked to the bone, lied on the shore, unmoving, and not breathing.

The sand near the figure contorted around the feet of another person, who had approached him. Their next course of action would decide the fate of one young man.

(So, my first RP Post is 157 Words. Bleh. I used to be able to do better.)

Phoenix walked along the shore, taking in the sights and sounds of the sea. He admired the sounds of the sea, it was calming in a otherwise hectic world. He watched the sunset as he walked, taking in the pastel colors of the sky and the knowledge that soon night would come; his favourite time of the day. His pale skin was a dead giveaway of a vampire, but the odd thing was he didn't burn as the sun cast rays on him; only he and a select few truely knew why he didn't burn. He had his tan leather coat on, open at the front to reveal a black shirt underneath. He also wore a pair of slightly baggy leather pants and a pair of tight black leather boots.

He looked at the water where numerous pieces of driftwood and other assorted wreckage from a shipwreck. As he turned his veiw down the beach he saw someone on a piece of large wreckage, a surivor from what Phoenix assumed was a shipwreck. Phoenix walked to him, seeing he was a human; thinking that he was lucky Phoenix was not hungry at that moment or he would be his next meal. He stopped in front of the man, unsheathing his katana and poking him lightly with it.

It did not take long after the disturbance for the figure to regain consiousness. After all, he was being poked with, once you got down to it, a very sharp, pointy stick. Damn it, stop poing me... He mentally growled, though that didn't really affect anything in the real world. He, slowly and deliberately, waved an arm around, trying to get whoever was poking him to stop. "Ugh... You can stop poking me now."

Pulling himself to his feet, he pulled a bit of his hair behind his ear, instinctively keeping his right eye closed. He rang out his cloak and looked up. When he saw what kind of person it was that woke him, he wished he had been a bit less rude. Well, if he had wanted to kill him, he probably would have already. "Where in the name of the Abyss am I? And who are you?"

(163. Well, at least I'm consistent.)

"My name is Phoenix and you're on the eastern coast." Phoenix said, his vampiratic teeth showing as he spoke. The sun was setting behind the man and Phoenix knew it was going to be a full moon, however it didn't affect him as he was only half Lycan; he could turn into his hybrid form anytime he wanted. He wondered what he should do with the man in front of him, he didn't look like a good meal and Phoenix had no use for boring company. He wondered if he even knew what a vampire was, for he seemed unsurprised that a vampire was standing in pure daylight; without burning to death. Phoenix kept himself in his normal form, that gave no sign that he was half lycan at all.

Phoenix sheathed his katana, feeling indifferent towards the decision on whether to kill him or not. He decided to wait until later, he had had enough kills for that day and he wasn't feeling particularly hungry. "What happened?" Phoenix asked and gestured towards the wreckage floating in the sea.

"The eastern coast of where?" He questioned, looking at the man. He rubbed his head. "Just call me Beir." Actually taking a good look at the man, he noticed the sharp teeth. "Do all of the inhabitants of this... wherever I am... have sharpened fangs as well, or are you unique?"

He closed his open eye, trying to remember what had happened. "I-I remember... a white sea. I was on a journey... a journey I didn't want to be on. It was very long..." He looked up, opening his left eye again. "The only other things I can remember are my name... and that I need to keep my right eye closed." This was all very confusing to Beir, and he wanted to do something simple, like stab something. "And I remember my bloodlust, as well, aparently."

(169. I truly, truly suck.)
