Title: A return for a drink...
Description: Private
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
Phoenix opened the door to the Inn, causing several people to glance up at him but only to return to their own business. Phoenix no longer wore his red trenchcoat, as he had no need for it no that his wings were gone; an effect from the Lycan bite a week ago. He took a quick look around the bar, then walked to the counter and sat on a bar stool. Phoenix wore a tan leather jacket, open at the front to reveal a black shirt, and a pair of slightly baggy black leather pants. He was in normal human form, the only giveaway to his race was his vampiratic teeth; but it only gave away the notion that he was a vampire and not a hybrid.
Phoenix signaled to the bartender and he in turn passed Phoenix a glass of ale. Phoenix looked into the liquid, thinking about all the events that had preceeded that day. He still had his four vampiratic teeth, and made no attempt to hide them. Phoenix took a long drink from his ale, taking another look around; scanning for Lycan or Vampires. He was being hunted, wanted by both Lycan and Vampire; they both wanted him to join their sides, to aid them in their war against eachother. He had been on the run for the past day and a half after word reached both sides of what had happened and what he was; Phoenix, not wanting to get involved in their war, had fled from their messengers and negotiators.
His katana sat belted to his side, it felt extremely light and weak to Phoenix after the lycan bite; he planned on getting a new one, something heavier and larger. He thought about his new found strength, knowing that his power could be limitless; he was both Lycan and Vampire, but stronger than both. Never before in history had a hybrid been successfully made, and it shocked Phoenix that he was the one to be the first.
Shayia - August 23, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
Shayia entered the bar, her face hidden, in darkness by a cloak which wrapped around her body, tied by a silky belt. She never cared much for bars, they were loud, annoying, and the men aggravated her well most of them. It was easy enough to tell she was a woman, the drunken men might have been idiots but they weren’t stupid, well apart from a small few who were starting fights, as always they hooted and whistled at every female who entered the bar. “Pigs” she said to herself as she walked up to the bar, avoiding the hands of men that tried to grab at her, they always had the same excuse, “Accident miss, sorry” they used to say, they never meant it of course, the apology that is.
She walked to the bar and saw a man, he looked familiar, but she put it to the back of her mind, she had lost a lot of prey during the last week and he could have been one of those men, she knew she saw him somewhere before but where was the question. She sat down there was one seat between them, she did not look him in the face incase he recognized her. The barman came over to her and asked “What will it be, love” in his British accent. She shook her hooded head as if to say ‘nothing for now’. “Not much of a talker are you” he said, she shook her head again, he gave a laugh and said “Give me a holler when you want something, okay” he added.
She gave a nod and continued to look down at her hands they were covered in blood, but she kept them hidden under her cloak. She gave one last glance over at the man, who was one seat away. And then she knew, it had finally clicked, although she had not caught his name when they met last she knew where he had seen him, he was chasing that woman in the forest, the night was pretty much a blur to her, but at least she knew she had met him. She thought about what to say to him or even if he remembered her.
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 06:38 PM (GMT)
Phoenix glanced beside himself at the woman, then quickly turned away. Another negotiator Phoenix thought to himself. When will they get the point that I am not going to take part in this war. It angered him that they persisted, time after time sending negotiators, either bearing bribes or threats. As his anger flowed he saw his hands slowly turning blue and claws forming, the sign of his hybrid form coming out. He forced himself to calm down and they went back to normal.
He wondered if she had caught word about him, or even the fact that a hybrid had been successfuly produced. It was big news in both the Lycan and Vampire clans, both because it could mean a victory in the war if he joined a side and the pure fact that one had actually been made.
In the last week Phoenix had only taken a single job, even though many were now available. The mission had gone as normal, that is until the target's bodyguards had noticed Phoenix and had attacked him. He was amazed at how he even survived that ordeal, he had taken the highly trained bodyguards down in hand to hand like they were nothing; a huge difference from the job a week before that, when he wasn't a hybrid. Since the last job he had been going from bar to bar, from Inn to Inn; hiding from the negotiators.
Phoenix took another long drink from his ale, wondering if she would notice him and if she was in fact a negotiator. He didn't remember what happened that one night a week ago, he knew he had met a vampire but had run off into the woods before he fed on her; and he didn't remember her, only the fact that he had met a female vampire.
Shayia - August 23, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
Her hair slipped out from beneath her hood and dangled for a moment until she pushed it behind her ear. She was an outcast from her clan and could never return, she thought about them always taunting her with information they couldn't tell her," You have to be in the clan to find out" they would say, she preferred to be an outcast than some mindless person in a war fighting for no reason, she found it so stupid and pointless.
She decided to take down her hood and show her face, the light in the bar did affect her eyes somewhat it made her light headed and dizzy, but she soon shook it off, another reason why she hated bars. The air was thick with smoke and laughter from a group of drunken men, they sat there cooing and hooting at the mortal women.
Shayia felt a shiver go through her spine and her fangs started to tingle, Damm it not now she thought to herself, she was thirsty for blood. usually it would not have bothered her but she had lost a lot of prey during the last week, and the hunger was creeping up on her now, she needed to feed soon.
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Phoenix glanced at the vampire beside him, noticing a hungry look on her face. He turned back to his ale, then got an idea. He finished his ale in one long gulp and set the glass down on the counter along with a few coins for payment. Phoenix stood up and slowly walked to the door, making sure she noticed him leaving; and wondering if she would think him a food source and follow. He glanced at the drunks around the inside of the bar, knowing that all of their blood was full of alcohols and would heavily intoxicate him if he fed off them. He slowly opened the door and walked out, walking down the sidewalk and pretending to just be out for a walk. He turned down the dark alley beside the Inn, making sure his tracks were easily followable.
((Sorry for the shortness))
Shayia - August 23, 2006 07:39 PM (GMT)
Shayia glanced and watched the man leave, he wasn't drunk like the men in the bar and her urge to feed was catching up on her. Leave or don't was the thought that trailed through her mind, she thought it would be best before she turned berserk. She stood up to leave and ignored the comments coming from the table near the exit, "Hey where ya going" came the voice of one man, she turned and looked at him, baring her fangs and hissing. He turned away, surprised and scared like a child after being scolded.
She walked outside the bar and followed his trail down a dark ally way. It's too easy he's planning something she said to herself. She tried to keep to the shadows as she moved silently down the ally after him. She bore her fangs once more and her eyes went a light pinky colour as she waited for the right moment to attack him, she let out a playful laugh as she glided in and out of the shadows letting him know she was there, this would be fun.
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Phoenix wondered how he should play this out, wondering if he should let her feed on him; she didn't need to kill him to feed and he wouldn't let her either. He turned and saw as she darted out of the darkness for a second, he could see in the dark and saw her every move. Phoenix slowly walked back to her in the dark alley, then smiled and showed his vampiratic fangs to her. He was enjoying this, taunting her slightly while he made her wait to feed. He stopped in front of her and waited for her move, wondering what she would do.
Shayia - August 23, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
She landed gracefully in front of him and smiled evilly, as her teeth came from her lips again, the moon shone on her eyes as they stayed their beautiful purple colour. He didn't remember her, so she would make sure this time he would not forget her. She placed her hands on his chest and laughed like she was a young girl again, her nails were strong and scratched playfully across his chest she did not want to hurt him, but it was a bonus if she did. She was not like this usually, but when she was hungry she would become more playful and seductive, she just wanted to rough him up a small bit before she fed.
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
Phoenix smiled slightly, letting her do what she would, and showing his vampiratic teeth. He had a surprise for her, when he would let it out he didn't know. His eyes glanced at the full moon, then turned back on the woman in front of him. His thoughts went to the notion of what would happen when she fed upon his hybrid blood, but he knew that it would make no difference; the blood would only fulfill her needs and nothing more. The black centers of his eyes slowly grew out, a sign of the lycan in him. However the shadow hid the signs of his Lycan half in his eyes, and he continued to watch the woman in front of him; unmoving and entertained by her actions.
Shayia - August 23, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
She growled slightly as she moved in for his neck, she didn't aim to kill him, just to get what she wanted, She was a little surprised when he didn't even hesitate to pull away or defend himself against her fangs. She bit into his neck and drained him of some of his blood, she had enjoyed every moment of it, but was disappointed when he didn't put up a fight, when she had taken her fill, her fangs went back to normal, and she pulled away from his neck but stared into his eyes. She cocked her head to the side like a puppy would look at someone speaking baby talk with it. She smiled confusingly at him as some blood rolled down the side of her mouth.
-Phoenix- - August 23, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
Phoenix enjoyed her feeding off him, letting her take what she needed; he didn't put up a fight, knowing full well his power exceeded hers as a hybrid. He smiled, choosing this time to reveal himself. He looked at the moon and focused, starting the transformation into his hybrid form. His bones started to crack and muscles change as his skin turned blue, his eyes turned completely black as his normally flat teeth turned into serrated points. He growled, sounding like a lycan, as he changed; his muscles doubling and his fingers turning into claws. When all was finished he looked at her again, smiling and showing the two rows of serrated lycan teeth; with four teeth larger than the others given by his vampiratic side.
"Never seen a hybrid before?" Phoenix asked, his voice a deep lycan-like growl; he knew he was the first and only hybrid. He smiled again, wondering what she would think and how she felt.
Shayia - August 24, 2006 10:08 AM (GMT)
Her eyes widened as she watched him transform, it was quite a sight to see, and she was not expecting it. She glided back a small bit from him in surprise, “No I have not, but I believe now I’ve seen it all” She said, her voice was warm towards him, but her eyes still glowed and her fangs were visible again, she did not know if he would attack her, lycan and vampires were practically mortal enemies, but he was both. This would become more interesting by the second. “I’m afraid I did not catch your name the last time we met” she said looking at him with great interest. “And I’m pretty sure I owe you drink too” she said smiling.
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 03:19 PM (GMT)
Phoenix smiled, he couldn't help but feel slightly attracted to her; maybe it was the fact she was a vampire like him, maybe it was her charm, he didn't know. He only wondered what she thought. Phoenix felt the thirst for blood as his fangs extended, he knew he needed to feed soon.
"My name's Phoenix." Phoenix said, his extended fangs showing as he talked. He kept himself in his hybrid form, he enjoyed being in it more than his normal form. He took a step closer, standing closely in front of her. "And yes you do owe me a drink." Phoenix said, pulling back his lip to reveal an extended fang. He wondered if she would let him, afterall he just let her feed on him.
Shayia - August 24, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
She smiled and pulled her hair to one side, revealing one side of her neck, she would let him feed this time. Her fangs went back to normal again and so did her eyes. The wind picked up slightly and blew her shall around her thighs, the belt jingled and so did her earrings. The noise from the bar picked up and people started leaving, it was around closing time and the drunks were getting angry.
"My names Shayia" she said she was very attracted to him, he was different from the rest, well he was hybrid of course.
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
Phoenix smiled, he had never fed upon a vampire before. He looked into her eyes, the moon shining off of his. His eyes turned completely black in anticipation of the feeding, then leaned in and bit into her neck; savoring every drop of the sweet red liquid. He fed, getting the usual high he got when he fed; once he was finished he wiped his mouth and smiled again at her, his fangs recessing back to normal. He looked at her, slightly noticing her attraction to him. Without noticing it he let out a soft lycan-like growl, one that spoke of his attraction to her.
Shayia - August 24, 2006 04:12 PM (GMT)
The wound of where his teeth had sunken in closed quickly as if it were never there, When she heard him growl, she blushed and then her cheeks turned their normal pale milky colour again. The sound of the drunks voices got louder, they were coming down the ally. "What now?" she said softly staying close to him, they would be easy to take out but feeding on them would have been a bad idea, not with all the alcohol hay had drank.
(sorry for shortness)
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 04:24 PM (GMT)
Phoenix thought, they could kill them in a bloodbath or just leave them. He glanced at the entrance of the alley where some drunks were starting to walk down. He put a hand to his katana, his immense muscles making it feel feather-light; he made a mental note to buy a new sword.
His thoughts turned to the possibility of leaving to feed on other, non-drunk, victims; even if he had fulfilled his thirst he enjoyed feeding immensely and wouldn't mind feeding again. His thoughts also turned to where he would be sleeping that night, he hadn't rented a room at the Inn yet and he had no home to go to. He also wondered if she would burn in sunlight light normal vampires would, which meant that they needed to get somewhere dark before sunrise.
"Up to you." Phoenix said, his voice a low lycan-like growl.
Shayia - August 24, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
“I have an idea, we could have fun with them, pick them off one by one” she said walking into the shadows, “Are you with me?” she said putting out her hand for him to grab, the drunks were half way down the ally singing and yelling, as drunks do. Shayia was in a playful mood and couldn’t wait to rip them apart.
Their footsteps echoed on the cobblestone ally as they came closer to the shadows, they were talking about someone, they tried to whisper but didn’t realize how loud they were speaking, there was only a small few three or four to take out.
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 05:59 PM (GMT)
Phoenix smiled, nodded, and took her hand, walking into the darkness as well. Phoenix let go of her hand then crossed the distance between him and the drunks with inhuman speed, still keeping to the shadows at the side of the alley. The drunks didn't seem to notice him, even when he walked quietly behind one of them. He stalked behind one of the straglers, then put his hand tightly over the drunk's mouth as he dragged him back into the shadows, slicing his throat with his razor sharp claws a moment later.
He knew he could take them all out quickly but he chose to keep to the shadows as he waited for Shayia to take her kill.
Shayia - August 24, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
Shayia glided over head, and hung upside down on a plank of wood just above them, she let out a bloodcurdling screech, then laughed as they looked around in fear. “Who’s there?” one of them asked as they looked around for their other companion. She hissed at them, then landed in front of them, her eyes began to turn purple again, “Hello gentlemen” she said in a seductive tone, they looked up at her and their eyes widened, she nodded at Phoenix to kill them if he wished, she just wanted one of them.
Shayia swooped over and grabbed on to one of them by his shirt color, then raised him into the air by the neck. Her fangs appeared once more and snuck them into his skin, this time she aimed to kill, when her fangs came out his blood spurted everywhere, she dropped him and wiped the blood from her face.
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
Phoenix walked to the last drunk, stopping right behind him. He grabbed the last drunk's head with both of his hands; then ripped it from his body, the blood pouring over Phoenix's hybrid blue skin. He tossed it aside and smiled to Shayia, wondering what they should do next.
"What do you want to do now?" Phoenix asked, walking to her and standing close.
((sorry for the shortness))
Shayia - August 24, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
"I think I’ll leave that up to you" she said smiling and wiping some blood from his shoulder, It was pitch black outside but Shayia could still see perfectly in front of her, she really didn't know what to do next, she wasn't worried about the sun it didn't affect her, for she was only half vampire, but she still didn't like going out in it. She looked around then looked back at Phoenix and waited for his reply.
-Phoenix- - August 24, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
Phoenix shrugged, he didn't know either. He looked at her, then down the alley behind her to a man who stopped in the entrance to the alley. He wore a thick fur coat, and was clearly racked with immense muscles. Phoenix thought, something was all too familiar about this. The man let his coat drop backwards off of him, revealing his bare chest and a pair of black pants. He looked at the two, then howled as he transformed into a lycan.
"They found me." Phoenix said softly.
Shayia - August 25, 2006 08:55 PM (GMT)
Shayia turned her head to look down the ally, after she heard the howl of the lycan. “What does he want with you?” she asked unsure, she thought it had something to do with that stupid war. She drew her staff and was ready for him to attack. Lycan were a lot stronger than women vampires, most of them anyway. Shayia knew the Lycan’s weakness, it was their great sense of hearing, she could have just let out a deafening screech but it would also have affected Phoenix.
-Phoenix- - August 25, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
"He wants me to join their side." Phoenix said, his voice a soft growl. He thought, if he attacked the Lycan then they would take it as him joining the other side; and the lycan seeing him with Shayia, a vampiress, might mean he would take it as him joining sides with the vampires. Phoenix turned to Shayia, realising what he had to do in order to make sure he stayed neutral in this war. He only hoped she would understand why he had to do what he was going to do, and that he would make it up to her later.
"I'm sorry, meet me at the blacksmith shop as soon as you can; don't follow me, just run after I hurt you and try to lose the lycan before meeting me at the blacksmith's" Phoenix whispered, and undercutted Shayia in the stomach; intending to knock her back.
Shayia - August 25, 2006 10:16 PM (GMT)
Shayia nodded and held her stomach in pain, she let out a small cry and then a screech, it echoed through the streets as she glided into the shadows, the lycan jumped and tried to bite her neck, but she scratched him, he dropped to the ground and let out a loud growl. Shayia jumped from roof to roof and headed to the blacksmiths, the lycan followed her but could not keep up and soon she lost him. Shayia moved silently and soon approached the blacksmiths and waited for him it was pure darkness around the small shack where the blacksmith worked, there where no lamps or candles but she did not mind. The blood drained from her body slowly, she tried to close the wound but hadn't enough blood to do so.
-Phoenix- - August 25, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
Phoenix had run for his life, quickly reaching the blacksmith a minute before Shayia did; even though he had taken the long way. Phoenix stepped towards Shayia, stepping out from the shadows, he was behind her; then stepped in front of her and noticed the wound. He thought, it was the least he could do for her. He pulled the neck of the collar aside, leaning his head the other way.
"Feed, you'll heal." Phoenix said, smiling slightly and waiting for her to do so.
((sorry for the shortness))
Aleera - August 26, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
She jumped slightly when she heard him behind her, when he told her to feed her fangs came from her lips but then went back, she shook her head “I’ll be fine, it’s just a scratch” she said leaning back against the small house of the blacksmiths. Dark clouds appeared over head and small drops of rain fell from the sky. Shayia glanced up at Phoenix, then at the front door of the blacksmiths.
She turned the handle but it was locked, she pushed it in with her hands and the door flew off the hinges, then landed on the ground inside the hut. It was extremely warm inside, the heat from the fire was still simmering away. “Well this is nice” she said being slightly sarcastic, it was damp inside from the rain and for some strange reason there were bales of hay and straw scattered all over the floor probably to dry up the dampness.
-Phoenix- - August 26, 2006 04:05 PM (GMT)
Phoenix laughed slightly, staying there was not the reason for him going there. His eyes scanned the inside of the dark blacksmith shop; searching for the blacksmith's wares. His veiw came across the wall to his right, where swords, sheilds, armor, and various other weapons and products the blacksmith had made were mounted. Phoenix walked to the wall, looking at the weapons and trying to find one that would suit him. He slowly walked down the wall as he searched, finding none; then as he reached the end his eyes came across a huge sword, mounted above the firepace as if it was a trophy. It was clearly too large and heavy for any human to use, or even a vampire or lycan; but Phoenix was not of them, he was hybrid.
He picked the sword up off it's mount and weilded it, it felt perfect in his hands; unlike his feather-light katana. He estimated it had to weigh well over twenty five pounds; but it felt like an average four pound sword, like his katana used to feel like-except like it was made specificly for him. It was four feet and five inches total length, three and five inches of that was blade, and the blade was a startling seven inches wide.
Phoenix turned to Shayia, weilding the immense sword; a sword that his hybrid form allowed him to weild.
((The sword is the one in my siggy))
Shayia - August 26, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
"Wow that looks heavy" she said staring wide eyed at the sword, it was massive she had never seen anything like it. There was noise coming from the roof and then a thud, Shayia didn't think too much into it. Blood dripped behind her like it was coming from the roof but it wasn't. She looked up at the structure holding the roof up and saw the body of the blacksmith he had been hung and his intestines cut out.
"Well he must have had enemies" she said standing under the body. The blood cover the floor and it was starting to smell. What a waste of blood she thought then turned back to Phoenix and stared at the sword.
-Phoenix- - August 27, 2006 02:38 AM (GMT)
Phoenix turned around to the wooden mount where a custom sheath for the large sword hung, above the roaring fire in the fireplace. "Not really, at least not since I turned." His voice slightly louder to make up for the fact that he was facing away from Shayia; but it still retained it's growl-like element. Phoenix took down the sheath, leaning the sword up against the stone wall as he fitted it on his back. It was made in such a way so that the sword was belted diagonally across his back; Phoenix picked up his sword off the wall and sheathed the it, the hilt coming up just over his right shoulder.
He turned back to Shayia, analyzing her earlier emotions and actions and overall judging how she felt towards him. For some reason his heart beat slightly faster when he was around her, and felt emotions similar to anxiousness. He pondered this, trying to figure out exactly why this was; and he soon found what he was looking for, quite surprised he found it, as he thought that part of him died so long ago. He tried to force it out of himself, as he thought she wouldn't feel the same; but the fact was it was there to stay.
His eyes glanced at the man as he heard her say the second comment, but the fact that the blacksmith was dead made no difference to him; as he was more interested in her than the bleeding corpse hanging in the rafters. Phoenix felt himself turning back to normal, and let it happen; his claws, blue skin, immense muscles, and completly black eyes, as well as other things, turning back to normal. Phoenix shrugged at her comment about the blacksmith, still curious about her emotions towards him; but equally as concerned as to where they were going to stay for the day, even though he didn't burn in sunlight he still prefered to sleep through the day- to awake the night after.
Shayia - August 27, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
Shayia smiled at Phoenix as he changed back, “This has sure been an eventful evening” she said sitting on a pile of dry straw and letting out a deep sigh. She was silent for a moment before asking “Did you ever get that woman,…. in the forest?” she asked, she was talking about the last time she met him, she didn’t know if he remembered or not but she was curious about whether her attempts to save the woman’s life had worked. Of course she didn’t care if the woman was dead or alive but it would still be nice to know.
Shayia found herself becoming more and more attracted to Phoenix, it could have been his charm, she wasn’t sure. It could have been the fact he was part vampire, she was more bubbly around him and happier. The wound on her stomach was slowly closing with whatever blood she had left, she wouldn’t need to feed but if someone barged through the open door she wouldn’t mind.
The rain was slowly seeping into the hut. Shayia stood up and put the door back where it first was, it kept the cold and rain out. The fire still simmered, giving a small bit of light and warmth to the room.
-Phoenix- - August 27, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
Phoenix sat on the bale of straw, putting his hands behind his back and leaning back onto the hay. As she asked him about the night the week before his memories came back as to who she was. "No, she got away. Then I was attacked by four lycans, and got bitten. I used to have wings you know, but I lost them in the transformation." Phoenix said, missing his wings and the feeling he felt when he went for a flight. He turned his head to look at Shayia, still trying to shove the feeling down but with no luck; the only thing he could do now was to hope she felt the same.
As he looked at her his heart beat slightly faster as it always did when he was around her or looked at her. As he layed on the hay he felt the new sword pressing against his back, and he wondered how it would fare in a fight; but then went back to thinking about Shayia, back to the original question as to what she felt.
He wondered, she didn't seem to have known about the news of a hybrid; which anyone in a coven would have known; so she probably didn't have a coven. His thoughts went over the topic of vampire covens, Phoenix wasn't part of anything except for the near-dead Black Hand assassin group; let alone a coven. The thought of starting a coven entered his thoughts, but he had no place to put it and didn't have any prospective members. Then the idea that he could take over the old abandoned manor deep in the forest hit him, and he smiled to himself as he imagined actually starting one.
Shayia - August 27, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
Shayia warmed her hands on what was left of the fire then turned her back to it, she smiled at Phoenix and then walked over and sat beside him. “Your lucky you weren’t killed like so many before you” she said, a sadness appeared on her face as she thought about her parents. Her father, a vampire and her mother a mortal woman. She soon shook of the thoughts and memories she had. And relaxed back into the hay. She felt something poke into her back, she jumped forward a small bit and looked back to see what it was, “A pitch fork” she mumbled, Grabbing it she quickly threw it aside and rubbed her back.
Laying back in the hay she looked up at the holes in the roof, there was about two and a half hours until sunlight and the stars were still out.
-Phoenix- - August 27, 2006 06:49 PM (GMT)
Phoenix thought, Shayia seemed sad at the mention of her comment; leaving Phoenix to wonder why. He thought, his stomach reminding him of his other need, the human need to eat; and then looked up at the stars and judged how much time they had left. Phoenix stood and turned to Shayia, a slight smile on his face. "Do you want to go get something to eat...with me?" Phoenix said, still wondering where they would stay for the night. One of the other important questions on his mind, other than the question of what Shayia felt for him, was if she would leave him for the day and what would come out of that night.
((sory for the shortness))
Shayia - August 27, 2006 07:55 PM (GMT)
“Sure, did you have somewhere in mind?” she asked, picking straw from her hair. The fire had extinguished by now, but there was still some warmth in the room. Shayia had enjoyed the company of Phoenix so far, she felt safe around him. She pulled a piece of straw from Phoenix’s jacket, and began to stand up, her back was paining her from where the pitch fork had stabbed her but it was a bearable pain, so she didn’t take much notice of it. Shayia felt strange around Phoenix, she hated nearly most every man, but for some reason not him, even when they first met, he was even chasing a woman, but still nothing, this puzzled her greatly as she grew up hating and not trusting men.
-Phoenix- - August 27, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
Phoenix put his hands in his coat pockets, feeling the large sack of gold in his right pocket. He estimated the total he had on him, finding it was more than enough to go to even the most expensive restaurant. Normally he would go to a small cheap restaurant, where the service was bad but the food was reasonable. However, he thought this occassion would be the perfect time to use up some of his hard-earned gold from his assassin jobs. He wondered, going through the many restaurants of the city; trying to find one that would be open and nice, then settled on the Golden Pearl. The Golden Pearl was one of the most expensive restaurants in the city, where nobles were usually found dining; as they treated you like royalty, if you could pay the bill.
"Yeah, the Golden Pearl." Phoenix said, a smile coming across his face as he said the name of a restaurant where few could afford to dine. He was still caught a bit off guard from his reaction to her, the way she made him feel. The last time he felt this way was four years before, before the massacre that had made him so cold. He thought that part of him had died, but there it was; making itself known. Something inside him felt reluctant to put his heart on the line again, as if she would only crush it; but something else, more powerful, shoved that little notion away and told him to continue on.

“The golden pearl……..are you serious?” she repeated with a smile and surprise. “That place is way over priced” She said, she didn’t want to see him waste his money there. Most women would die for a chance to go there. But Shayia wasn’t born into a wealthy family in fact far from it, they lived where they could afford which was the streets unfortunately, until Shayia got a job of being an assassin money was still tight but, any small bit helped. Shayia reached into a small purse which hung from the side of her hip. She would definitely have enough to pay for her share.
She looked at Phoenix and smiled, she got the feeling of butterflies in her stomach and the feeling of being light headed. She shook it off and took a step forward, standing close to him.

Phoenix smiled and nodded, knowing that for once in his life his hardships had been worth it; all those nights not sleeping in an Inn, buying the cheapest food, and working as hard as he could. He saw her reach for her purse and shook his head slightly. "It's on me, don't worry about it."Phoenix said, standing close to her and looking into her eyes. He felt the urge to just lean in and kiss her but something stopped him, he didn't know whether it was the fear of rejection or the fact that this was the first time in four years that he'd felt like that.
((Sorry for the shortness))

"No i don't want you to pay for it, i have more than enough" she said, she noticed him lean towards her and stop, She wanted to push herself up to kiss him but she didn't know if he was ready, she went with her gut and kissed him slightly, then pulled back. "I'm... I’m. Sorry" she mumbled quietly and turned her head to the side and took one step back. What have i done, I’m so stupid, I’ve ruined things between us She thought. She felt so awkward, the feelings inside her had just burst out.
