Title: Life Is Worth Saving
Description: ~Open~
Zenith Meria - August 23, 2006 10:25 AM (GMT)
It was early morining in the Village of Estolad. Everything seemed at peace, the sun slowly rising into the air, making some of the ground glow with a beautiful morning glow. A large winged shadow could be seen moving along the lit up ground. Slowly coming down from the air was a young Arch Angel known in Arda as Zenith Meria. He had helped save many lives in his short life so far, but he had also killed many evils within Arda.. the ones that would not or could not be brought into Holiness. Yes Zenith Meria was one of The Keepers Of The Sacred Deep and he served his Guild Master, who was also the Gaurdian of Holiness, Avénnian to the best that he could. Zenith always fought for what was right... he always fought for Holiness and that would never change. It was just a shame that his brother Alba Meria, a Phoenix, was within the Chaos Legion.
He softly landed upon the ground of Estolad and looked around. It was a rather nice place but still Zeniths favourite place was the falls where himself and Yumi had gotten to know each other better. He smiled a little and tucked his wings into his back. Of course they were not hidden as Zeniths wings were to large to really hide. But he was not afraid of what people would do as Zenith was proud to be an Arch Angel. Zeniths eyes looked around the town as some people started to come out to attend their daily work. It seemed to be a very active town and with luck the young Arch Angel would not draw to much attention towards himself.
Nofurye Mando - August 23, 2006 11:21 AM (GMT)
The sun was warm and the birds were singing as Rye emerged from his small hut on the outskirts of Estolad. His silver hair shimmered in the sunlight as he proceeded towards the local trader, staff in hand. His money pouch jingled with gold coins as he walked. He was happy to start his day by going to the trader, for he was in a good mood and that didn't happen very often. Maybe it was because he slept for the first time in months. He was too old to sleep and had enough of it so he decided to stop ten years ago. However, sometimes he got a bit tired and dozed off in his chair in front of the fire. However, that's the life of a 258-year-old half elf with arthritis, you've got to keep living or kill yourself.
Nofurye entered the traders shop, a look of excitement upon his face. He was going to purchase two loaves of break, firewood and a brand new robe. His old one was becoming stinky and worn so he decided it was time for a change. The trader was a small man that went by the name of Joey. He didn't say much, all he wanted to do was sell stuff and make profit. Rye purchased the items; put them in his bad and continued home.
As he went outside, a figure landed on the ground. Rye dropped his staff, shocked at the sudden appearance of this man. He folded his wings and looked around. The man appeared to be an archangel, but Rye hadn't seen one of those in years. He'd seen stranger things on his many adventures but this one was a big shock. The people around him looked at the angel too. Ryes eyes welled with tears of the memories that filled his head. The angel was beautiful, its white wings and angelic figure would bring any man to tears. However, it made Rye especially emotional. He reminded him of his dad, an elven man who left him and his mother when he was fifteen years old. It's the only thing he remembers beyond the age of thirty, but it was the most heartbreaking moment of his life. He understood that his Dad was leaving and that made it even worse. He wanted to see his father before his death but he wasn't sure where he was. One thing he did know is that he was still alive doing god knows what.
Rye knew what he had to do. He had studied angels his whole life and knew they were wise and knowing. He also knew they were pure and good and Rye believed he was sent down from the heavens to help him. It was the only chance he had.
"Excuse me sir, what are you doing in a place like this?"
The man looked at Rye, a smile creeping across his face. He waited for the angels answer, longing to hear him talk.
Zenith Meria - August 23, 2006 11:47 AM (GMT)
Hearing the voice of an old man behind him Zenith slowly turned round, his wings still held into his back as he smiled a little towards the man. The young Arch Angel then said "Hello sir, I am just passing by... Thought I would drop in and maybe get some supplies while im here, and maybe some food. I am also looking for those in need of my help. .... How rude of me. My name is Zenith Meria." Zenith then slowly placed his right hand out to shake the mans hand. The town.. although small... was very beautiful and Zenith was thinking of staying for a little bit.. I mean even somewhere like this must have some evil within it and Zenith wanted to stop that.
He then seen a group of young males and female walking by both himself and the old man, the man seemingly pulling the women along as they looked over to Zenith. Why were so many within this town intersted in him, that Zenith didnt know the answer to. Thats when it hit him... Zenith, even though an Angel, was a rare Angel being an Arch Angel... not many of his race where seen out of the Angels home, but Zenith liked to travel so he didnt mind people seeing him... he was proud of his Arch Angel family and of himself.. the only one he was not proud to be linked to was Alba Meria, his brother... the Phoenix. Snapping out of his thoughts Zenith once again looked at the old man awaiting on his reply.

"Hello sir, I am just passing by... Thought I would drop in and maybe get some supplies while I’m here, and maybe some food. I am also looking for those in need of my help. .... How rude of me. My name is Zenith Meria."
Nofurye looked into the mans eyes, seeing peace and faith. His eyes were still watering and he believed the gods meant this to happen. It was the only time in is life that Rye believed in destiny. Moreover, in his old age, his destiny had not yet been accomplished.
"Hello Zenith Meria, I am Nofurye Mando. I welcome you to Estolad. It's a quiet place but it's quite peaceful. A few bandits here and there but other than that, it's great"
Rye decided not to ask for anything straight away. Zenith might think he was a mad man or had dementure. He had to talk with him and the perfect thing to do would be to invite him into his home.
"Would you like to come back to my place for something to eat and drink? I could tell you all about this wonderful village and maybe you could listen to some of my problems."
The Archangel looked happy, a smile appearing on his face. Rye was sure Zenith would say yes, but destiny might not be true after all.
Tobias - August 23, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
Tobias walked out of the inn and streached. He had stayed at the inn for the night, glad that no one took the time to get a good look at him. If they did they would have found the demon inside him.He watched the sunrise as he yawned revealing a small set of fangs, only slightly larger than a normal humans teeth. But even still he was not like other half demons who had been abandoned and left out. His father died when he was only a child and his mother raised him, teaching him that races only define where you came from, the do not define who you are.
He watched as an old man and an Archangel talked. He smiled and then began his walk off. Suddenly there was a shout, "THEIF THEIF!" He spun around and found a woman yelling as a man ran towards him holding a coin pouch. The man pushed Tobias out of the way and continued to run. Tobias hit the ground and looked up the man. He got up and ran after him.
Suddenly the man tripped and Tobias took the opprotunity to stop him. He notched an arrow and let it fly, the arrow hit its mark pinning the man's cloak to the ground. He walked up to him. "I believe you have something that does not belong to you sir." he said. The man turned and Tobias's eyes grew wide, A fire elemental! he thought as the man turned and launched a fireball at him. He flew back and was knocked into a bunch of barrels. The fire elemental took the arrow out of his cloak, "That will teach you to mess with a fire elemental."
Hlormar Wolfang - August 23, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
"Don't move if you value your head," Wolfang said in a gruff and deadly tone from behind the fire elemental, his large sword laying dangerously on the man's shoulder. Wolfang allowed him a moment to calm down, and apparently he decided to cooperate. Indeed, he was not moving.
"Now hand me the pouch with the gold," he instructed. The elemental, jerked his hand up, and then brought it down a little, uttering a sharp cry of pain in the process. Wolfang had taken his sword and pushed it at the man's neck, leaving a long, but shallow cut there.
"Try again, slower this time," he instructed once more, thoroughly enjoying the situation and his power over the elemental. Obeying, he lifted his hand up slowly, with the pouch of gold lying in his opened palm. Wolfang plucked it out of the elemental's hand, opened the pouch, took three gold pieces out of it, leaving seven untouched, and then tied it back up. He slipped the three gold pieces into his pocket, and threw the pouch over to the man pursuing the elemental. The very same one that had gotten blown back by its spell.
"Go," Wolfang commanded the man simply, removing the sword from his shoulder. The man ran away, but not before Wolfang could see that his eyes were full of loathing and humiliation. Wolfang thought the pouch belonged to the man, so he told him with an artful smile, "My reward has already been deducted."
Tobias - August 24, 2006 05:40 AM (GMT)
Tobias groaned as he got up and looked as a man stopped the fire elemental. The man handed Tobias the bag, "My reward has already been deducted." he said. Tobias shook his head as the bag was placed in his hands. "This does not belong to me but to her" he said as he handed the bag to the woman. She nodded her thanks and went on her way. He smiled and nodded as she left. "Thank you for your help sir. I am known as Tobias, by what name may I call you?" he asked.
He looked around as the city began to transform from a quiet sleeping village to a hustle and bustle city with many adventures awaiting those who are there. Perhaps he would find some sort of adventure today, his luck was surely becoming strong with the fire elemental encounter. He looked around at the many faces, each with their own story and their own destiny. A part to play in this great world, and a time to have an impact on others, like he did.
Hlormar Wolfang - August 24, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
Wolfang smiled, but not with satisfaction, as Tobias tossed the pouch to a woman. It was an amused smile, because truly the action had amused Wolfang. He hadn't seen acts of charity like that for a while now. He sheathed his sword into its scabbard on his back, and came over to the man, offering him a large and calloused hand in introduction. "You may call me Hlormar if you wish," he said, introducing himself.
"So did you know that woman, or did you just decide to help her for the sake of simply being kind. Or maybe, you were expecting a reward like I was?" he asked curiously, wanting to know the basis for the man's actions, and therefore what kind of man he was dealing with.
Zenith Meria - August 24, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Zenith looked at the old man and said "Thank you sir that would be nice. I accept your offer." He then looked over at a small... battle shall we say. A fire elemental stealing gold and two men stopping him. He seen one of them taking some of the gold and that made Zenith a little mad. He thought to himseld "Fool... wanting paid for a good deep... people like that are not true followers of Holiness." He then let out a small sigh and looked back towards the old man, Zenith then said "I am very sorry Mr Nofurye Mando, but I shall have to sort something out first.. I live to spread the word of Holiness and i feel that man over their that used the blade... need a small lesson." Zenith then smirked and walked over to Hlormar Wolfang.
Zenith had played this smart as the only blades that Hlormar Wolfang would be able to see on Zenith would be Destiny and Hope, two normal blades only totaly blue but on their own Destiny and Hope held no magical properties. His Holy Blade, Salvation, Blade of Balance, Judgement, and his shadow dagger, Coruption, were all hidden from view. This meeting would be well... rather fun indeed. Once getting to the two men Zeniths eyes looked towards Hlormar Wolfang and he said to him "Sir... I do hope you will giving that woman her gold back. One should not be expect payment for a good dead. The feeling of knowing you have helped someone should be enough for you... " Zenith could feel evil within this man.. but he played along for now and acted normal. Thanks to his detect evil spell... Zenith Meria knew that Hlormar Wolfang was of the Dark alignment.
Hlormar Wolfang - August 24, 2006 11:48 PM (GMT)
"Unlikely, as one in my profession doesn't offer refunds. Secondly, it was minor fee, and as you obviously saw the woman left with a satisfied smile on her face, and even offered her thanks. Thirdly, I won't give it back because unfortunately the feeling of commiting a good deed does not put bread on my table. Now kindly, leave me in peace," he told the man coldly, yet politely, trying to convey the fact that he did not want to speak with him, nor did he want his inputs on how to conduct business.

Nofurye looked at the barbarian. The man was an idiot. He had to be blind for not many people said no to an archangel, especially one as powerful as Zenith. Rye had a feeling that this was going to end in violence and that wasn't always the best way. However, if this man was brave enough to stand up to Zenith, he might deserve to be hurt. Rye didn't like the look of him.
"Don't talk to him like that you scoundrel! You don't know a thing about good will and kindness and that's what destroys men like you. I've seen it happen many times before and it will get you nowhere. Leave and never return to this peaceful village. Keep the money, I guarantee you won't spend it for you'll be reminded of how evil you have become."
And with that Rye waited for the mans answer. As he spoke, everything went silent. People stopped what they were doing and looked at the barbarian, curious as to what he was going to do.
Hlormar Wolfang - August 26, 2006 02:08 AM (GMT)
Wolfang turned his head slightly so he could see who it was that adressed him. At first glance he looked like the village elder, but after he had heard him speak he assumed that it was perhaps the village idiot.
Oh, not another one of these "holy" idiots.
"Talk him to like what? We are speaking as men speak. You'll have to excuse me for not falling upon my knees and kissing his feet just because he has wings," he replied cooly to the old man trying to hide the displeasure from his voice, but some must have seeped through anyway. "Tell me, sir, are you an officer in the Chaos Legion? No? Are you the war chief of the Wolfang clan? No?" he adressed the other man, the one standing in front of him. "Then I refuse to speak with him in any other tone but one of equality, as I owe him nothing, and believe me, I have no desire to remain in this village. I assure you my first thought waking up this morning was, I'm ready to leave this wretched town. And finally, why don't the both of you leave me alone, eh? Under the laws I've done nothing wrong. The money I received was payment for a providing of a simple service. Now go and preach somewhere else. I'm getting tired of this foolish babble," he told the old man, trying to control himself from bursting out.
Zenith Meria - August 26, 2006 02:39 AM (GMT)
As Zenith listened to them both speaking his eyes were instantly locked upon the man who had taken the money as he said he was in the Chaos Legion... the same Guild that Zeniths brother Alba was in. Yes... Alba, the only member of Zenith family to become a Phoenix.... Yet after becoming the said Holy Bird, Alba had turned to the evil side of life and killed both his and Zeniths family sparing only his brother. The right hand of Zenith began to glow dark blue as his Magic Missile spell began to charge up. He now wanted this man dead just for being in that... that Chaos Legion with Alba. Yet Zenith managed to look perfectly calm and said in a calm voice towards Hlormar "Your with the Chaos Legion I see... Do you know of a Phoenix that goes by the name Alba Meria in that guild?" He made sure to say nothing about Alba being his brother, or the fact that Zenith was the third Keeper of the Sacred Deep and had infact been trained by the Gaurdian of Holiness.
Zenith awaited the mans reply with a small smile upon his lips and his left hand resting upon the hilt of Destiny. Zeniths Cloak was still fully covering the powerfull armour beneith it... this man had no idea the power Zenith held both aroud himself and within himself. This day was not going to be so boring after all.... it looked as though Zenith would be attacking the Chaos Legion thus sending them a very important message.... The time to rebuild the light within Arda and destroy the darkness had now started.
Hlormar Wolfang - August 26, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
"I'll tell ya, but you gotta leave me alone afterwards. No, I don't know of such a man, seeing as I was hired as a mercenary there only quite recently, in fact I haven't even been to the Legion garrison yet, so don't ask me about anyone else there. Now please excuse me gentlemen, I'm a busy man with many matters to attend to. Good day to you all," he said finally, turning around, quite ready to leave the blasted village. He was walking back towards the direction of the tavern as he still had to pay for a bed he rented there, and he forgot something else there too.
