Title: Hunting... Something...
Description: Open To Everyone

Dayne - July 24, 2006 09:53 AM (GMT)
The air whistled past Dayne's ears, her wings feeling the rush of the wind as it pushed against her. Longbow in hand and arrow nocked to the string, she cast her bright green eyes across the featureless landscape.
Nothing. No sign of movement anywhere.
Dayne slowed and probed the long grass with her eyes, searching for something, anything that was remotely edible. Not that Dayne had no money to pay for food, she just liked hunting fresh meat better.
There was a strange sound from below and the archangel looked down. A very slight rustling was moving the dry grass and Dayne smiled.
Finally.
In one smooth movement, Dayne drew back the string, the fletching of her arrow touching just below her chin. With the ease of years of practice, Dayne let the arrow loose, and watched as it whistled down into the grass.
A squeal came from that spot, then a thump, and Dayne floated down to claim her prize. A scrawny looking boar was lying in a pool of blood, a single arrow shaft sticking out of the precise center of the top of the beasts head.
Dayne smiled, her face triumphant, if not just a bit disappointed.
Still, food was food, and Dayne was happy enough. Just as she was about to take off again, there was a rustle from somewhere behind her and Dayne leapt into the air, leaving the boar where it lay. Smoothly she drew back the string on her bow, an arrow already nocked to it.
In the air, Dayne waited, bow drawn and ready, just in case the owner of the noise happened to be an enemy.

Avadon - July 24, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
It was a noble centaur, just wandering the grass for people. He was also hunting for wild game. Firing a rather precise arrow, but missing the target altogether, he seemed to only desire some training, or so it seemed. That's when he noticed you, and approached. "Hello fair adventurer. What brings you?" Avadon said, benevolently.

Dayne - July 26, 2006 09:55 AM (GMT)
Her mind racing, Dayne didn't move. She was in full view of the centaur and could see his bow even from this distance. Still, he sounded kind enough and wasn't trying to shoot her down yet so the archangel sank slowly to the ground, her feet touching the dirt lightly next to the boar she had shot. 'What brings me?' she mused, pulling her arrow out of the dead boar and cleaning it on his fur.
'That's simple enough.' she shrugged with a small smile. 'Food. I don't exactly feel like paying everyday when nature gives so freely.'
Dayne glanced at the sun. It wasn't yet exactly above her so noon hadn't yet arrived. 'And you?' she asked the centaur as a light breeze picked up, causing her hair to wave around behind her and her white feathers to ruffle slightly as she waited calmly for an answer.
