Title: Let's Start A Forest Fire
Ita the Reckless - July 22, 2006 04:49 AM (GMT)
Leaves crumbled, discolored, blowing into charred fragments at the slightest gust of wind. A flaming tree trunk fell to the ground to meet with the dense carpet of smoldering twigs and branches. The last of the tropical birds in the immediate area took to the skies, but its flight was not aided by the dense cloud of black smoke that choked the life out of any who dare inhale it. Fire leapt from root to root, trunk to trunk, bush to bush, until a large chunk of the Taurerosa Rainforest was engulfed in the dark embrace of death. The woodland creatures that couldn't escape in time were completely burned up. Small villages of lizardmen or tribal humans were torn to the ground.
The ground began to rumble and three trees uprooted and rolled down a hill that was materializing. The dryness in the soil made the lump have a cracking surface. The top burst off like an erupting volcano and a long geyser of flames roared into the heavens. Behind the crackling of burning wood and the cries of agony from those in the area still living, a quiet laughing sounded. The lower forest was filled with smoke that hadn't yet escaped into the canopy, but the lighting of a large blue fire lit the area up like a beacon. Ita the Reckless, her fur covered in ash and her eyes filled with its usual sadism, brandished Mashaka the Chaos Axe and twirled it around as if striking something. The winds picked up and formed into a small whirlwind that fed the fires oxygen and kept the air relatively clean. This measure was not taken so Ita could breathe, but so she could actually see anyone who approached her. That way, anyone who was surviving the fire could be properly executed.
Ita tilted her head towards the sky and roared to nobody in particular, "I finally went through with that promise I made you all those weeks ago, Liara! Using your own element to destroy all you stand for." She didn't actually expect nor desire Liara to listen, but it was true all the same. The goddess of chaos lowered her head and glared left and right. There was no one except her... and the raging forest fire.

The canopy opened up to the filtering sunlight, the flaxen arrows of gold raining down upon Vigilante, basking in the warmth of its rays. A slight growl reached his lips as he rasied his eyes to the sun, cursing the weather of the tropical forest. His minon carefully followed him, before a slight yelp emitted from its jaws, running foward.
Vigilante quickly barked an order causing it to stop, flames spewing out of its muzzle. Squeezing his eyes, the mage suddenly saw black smoke emitted from the trees, his eyes glinting with mischief. A curt nod from his head suddenly allowed the minion to add to the flames, as he teleported further to find the source of flames.
The sudden swish of an axe, caused the mage's eyes to dilate, only his quick reflexes allowing him to dodge the blade of chaos, a strand of hair falling to the ground. Quickly, the mage toppled over, cursing himself as he brushed off the ashes.

Barak had no clue what happened. One moment he was surrounded by humans fighting them off one by one and the next minute he was in a forest fire. Seriously, he had to get stronger and when he got the chance...BOOM. Every human was anillated. He hated that, "Alright whoever did that is going to get it." he said. He ran through the forest looking for an exit when he was blasted back by air. He looked up at a man rolling on the ground and shook his head. 'Idiot. Caught out here in a fire, some people have no sense. he thought.
He coughed a little and looked at the being who swung the axe. It was a lupine, who by all standings should not have messed with him, The lupine had red fur and seemed to have a thing against Liara, whoever that was. Barak neither knew nor cared about it. The only thing he cared about was the fact this lupine had got in the way of his fight, so now the lupine would take the place of the humans. "You just made the worst mistake of you life lupine. You meddled in my fight by making this fire of yours so now you will perish in it!" he said taking out his rod and lunging at the lupine.

When Ita finished her practice swing of Mashaka, which was held in her right hand, a clunking noise caught her attention. She turned her head downward to behold the sight of a clean-cut man with black hair. The goddess almost chuckled, slowly moving the handle to point the weapon feet away from the man's neck. Her arm brushed against a Fever Sword that was hanging from her hip. On the opposite one, the Blade of War sat soundless in its sheathe. "If you haven't been killed by the blaze, you will die by my ha---" she was interrupted by a new presence. Annoyed, Ita slowly turned her head to see the arrival of a lightning demon. She slitted her eyes, unamused.
"You just made the worst mistake of you life lupine. You meddled in my fight by making this fire of yours so now you will perish in it!" The man said, but Ita only replied with a yawn. As Barak prepared to lunge the rod he had pulled out, Ita effortlessly stepped aside, Mashaka lowered. "I'm sorry, what were you saying about perishing?" She tossed Mashaka from hand to hand, grinning, then finally let it rest upon her left hand. She bent her knees halfway, then let forth a huge leap that could only be physically possible with the use of one of the enchanted rings around her fingers. She disappeared above the burning canopy.
Only the air blowing through charred leaves was a warning to Ita's landing. She landed just behind Barak, her axe held firmly in both hands. Immediately when she came in range, she swung her axe with all her might toward the lightning demon's right side. Her intention was to slice open his ribcage, the fire enveloping her weapon hopefully causing much damage to her foe's insides.
Liara - July 28, 2006 04:12 AM (GMT)
The temple sat silent, stilled by the cool night air. It was humid and dry. The goddess had not watered Arda as much as normal. She was teaching the cultivaters a lesson for not paying her the respect she deserved. They thought they could predict the weather and the seasons, but Liara was there to show them differently. Smoke lingered in the air. The goddess’s keen senses recognized it right away. Liara had been apprehensive all day, but she dismissed the feeling. When would she learn to follow her instincts. Liara sat motionless in her seat, her eyes radiating bright green, pulsating with the life of the forest. She mentally searched the face of Arda in her mind, trying to locate the source of the smoke, and her uneasy feelings. Almost instantly she found the forest, ablaze with flames. They were calling out to her. "Ita” It was more of a growl than any audible sound. Shall I take you? No. That wont be necessary.
The goddess’s form dematerialized into hundreds of floating green orbs. The orbs soared out of a nearby window and into the horizon. Moments later, in the middle of a blazing forest the orbs quickly reassembled into the goddess. Her eyes furious. The heavy winds whipped at her hair and tugged at her robes. Paying no attention to the two who had come to help save her forests, she turned to Ita. The ground rolled with her voice. “Ita! You have no right.” Lightning crashed against the thick wall of thunderhead clouds. The rain began to fall in torrential amounts. Dirt and debris began to quickly float away to the nearest river. Flames were all ready sputtering and smoldering. The downpour didn’t falter. The heavens opened wider, releasing all the summers stored water. The forest breathed a collective sigh of relief as their Goddess came to their rescue. "Ita, Is this the tasks that Raku sends you on. Does he only trust you to set forest fires. What an evil plan you have.” The driving rain seemed to avoid Liara, keeping her perfectly dry amidst the battering rainfall.

Ita immediately halted her attack on Barak without pausing to see if she hit him or not. She felt a strange presence in the air. It radiated so much power that it was almost unmistakable as another Vala. Slowly but confidently the lupine goddess turned around, claws still held firmly on her upward-facing axe. When she beheld Liara, the Goddess of Nature, her mouth twisted into a maniacal smile. Ita's expressions truly revealed how insane she was. Her eye twitched and one half of her mouth was smiling more than the other half. One of her ears was pinned back, but the other remained idle. With her attention focused on the rival deity, she didn't immediately notice the thunderstorm that was brewing and the rain that was beginning to fall. "Ita! You have no right," Liara said. Ita's expression twisted further. "Ita, Is this the tasks that Raku sends you on? Does he only trust you to set forest fires? What an evil plan you have.” The Goddess of Chaos enjoyed Mother Nature's obvious anger. The lupine always knew just how to annoy each god, save Lothlomendil, who remained emotionless every time she confronted her.
"I am no longer Raku's pawn, Liara. I cannot be controlled," she replied, her voice coming out in growls, "All of the Pantheon are my enemies now. They will all perish. I will make sure of it!" After she spoke the last sentence Ita lifted her axe to the air. The rain dripped down her armor and made her fur cling to her skin, but she showed no signs of caring. The sky began to glow a faint green color. It pulsated twice and eventually ceased. Seconds later, accompanying the heavy rainfall were small falling blobs of acid. The trees that had once been burning were now disintigrating in the harmful liquid. Ita's maniacal expression slowly morphed into a sadistic, smug one as she lowered the Chaos Axe. "I am surprised you were bored enough, or insane enough, to arrive here. I hadn't even burned down the whole forest yet. Haha, silly Liara. Such an overlooked goddess. While hundreds join my cause daily, purifying themselves of corruption, your name crosses no one's mind. All you have are these dying trees." Her gaze reverted back to its past expression and Ita brandished Mashaka. The flame covering the two-bladed axe doubled in size. Forgetting something, the goddess snapped towards Vigilante and Barak behind her. "This is between her and me. If you dare get in this fight, I will tear your very souls asunder!" she roared, pointing a clawed finger at Barak in particular. The deity spun back around, eyes filled with fury. "Let's see how badly I can stain that pretty dress with blood!" Ita lifted her axe high above her head. As she charged toward Liara, her body slowly became less distinguishable. Within seconds, Ita the Reckless was only a streak accross the forest; a blur.
Liara - July 28, 2006 06:33 AM (GMT)
“I am no longer Raku's pawn, Liara. I cannot be controlled," "All of the Pantheon are my enemies now. They will all perish. I will make sure of it!" "I am surprised you were bored enough, or insane enough, to arrive here. I hadn't even burned down the whole forest yet. Haha, silly Liara. Such an overlooked goddess. While hundreds join my cause daily, purifying themselves of corruption, your name crosses no one's mind. All you have are these dying trees" The goddess’s face never changed, although the rage seethed beneath her calm exterior begging to be released. “Ita, I won’t even try to speak reason to you. Chaos listens to no one. But know this, I am a seasoned goddess and it would be to your best interest to leave me in peace. I have survived eons without your presence, and I have yet to be forgotten. I will continue for centuries more with, or with out you.” Her eyes narrowed, only two slits of brilliant green were visible against the dark blanket of the night. The acid rain continued to fall, corroding away at the trees. It ceases as quickly as it began. “Ita, creativity was never your strong suit. It is pointless to fight me with my own element. It obeys ME!” The ground shook violently. Liara was playing Ita’s game more than she had intended. Liara tried to keep calm but Ita knew exactly what to say to blind the Goddess with emotion. "Let's see how badly I can stain that pretty dress with blood”
Without a moments notice the Lupine was charging at Liara. The goddess’s form returned to it’s orbed state. The orbs reformed nearby setting on the branch of a sturdy tree, one of the few in the area that had survived. “Ita, Give me credit. I am not some mortal that you can have your way with.” Liara raised her hand and shot several baseball sized rocks in Ita's direction. Liara began to wonder, with the war beginning, how much Ita’s power would grow. War was chaos. Ita was not a problem for Liara at this point, but Liara feared just what she may soon be capable off. Ita was certainly a force to be reckoned with. If Arda continues down its current path…even the Gods may be at risk. A divine war must be avoided at all costs.
Ita the Reckless - August 2, 2006 08:27 PM (GMT)
Ita's axe, to her anger, cleaved nothing and raced toward the ground with great speed. The goddess staggered from the force and the Blur spell faltered because of it. “Ita, I won’t even try to speak reason to you. Chaos listens to no one. But know this, I am a seasoned goddess and it would be to your best interest to leave me in peace. I have survived eons without your presence, and I have yet to be forgotten. I will continue for centuries more with, or without you. Ita, creativity was never your strong suit. It is pointless to fight me with my own element. It obeys ME!” It took Ita two good seconds to heave the great weapon out from the mud. Just enough time for Liara to have reformed atop a branch and sent several rocks hurling in the goddess of chaos's direction. Ita managed to block one with her axe and dodge three, but one bounced against one of her shoulderplates and shook her a bit. Tiny rocks weren't going to penetrate, or even dent, her armor that easily, however. “Ita, Give me credit. I am not some mortal that you can have your way with.” The lupine only managed a grunt when she slung her axe over her shoulder to glare up at her foe. She held her hand to the side, level to her shoulder, and the acid pouring from the sky finally ceased. It had burned several holes in the forests, but it wasn't enough to completely level the area. She made a swift cutting motion with her hand and the immediate forest area lit up in blue flames, including the one Liara was sitting in.
"The Taurerosa Rainforest is beyond repair, Liara. Your attempts are in futile." She grinded her teeth together in anger. She thrust her free hand forward in the direction the enemy goddess was. Black and crimson lightning crackled from her fingertips and launched itself forward.
{Ahh! So short! I had that first paragraph done for a long time, but I have so little inspiration for this post in particular. >.<}
