The night was dark but the light from the moon and stars in the cloudless sky kept the eastern coast alight. The village not far off from the small two man boat fishing in the water was glowing from the light of the lanterns and people were every where. In this part of the coast there was a certain type fish that was easier to catch at night, and as the main product if the village was fish, it gained them a lot of money. It was warm and so was the water which apparently was the reason the fish where here in the first place. Any assault of the village wouldn’t last long as of all the merchants guards and village watch, so he planed another attack, which ended in the boat.

Drate swan around in the boat circles, just a few feet under so he could watch the too men in the boat. He was in his elemental form, just like all the other times he went in water, not that he had too but he wouldn’t miss a chance to be in his true form. The boat was not that far form the shoreline or the crowded jetty. A few other boats moved around including a merchant’s vessel which he planed to destroy after his little attacks. On of the two men though a net over the side of the boat in a poor attempt to catch some fish which Drate had already scared off with his presence. Drate just had time before the man pulled it up to grab it under with him. The fisherman came out with it, falling helplessly into his domain. He struggled under Drate’s hold but couldn’t brake free, if anything he died quicker.
The other man had seen the commotion and as Drate took a bite out of the dead victims’ neck, he shouted for help.

Alerted by the noise the elemental stopped eating and jumped at the other man in the boat. Rushing up though the Blood mixed water he suddenly hit the air and then it rushed past his face. Onlookers that on the jetty and the beach screamed or shouted warnings but nothing could help the man. The light bounced of his blue sails and the red water left a trail behind him as he rose and fell onto the man, grabbing him with webbed claws then continuing back into the water with his second kill. Surprisingly the attack went fast and second died in one bite giving no struggle. People screamed back at the village and guards were mustered. In the water Drate headed for the second boat. No one can help them.

Umbra sat on the shore. The moonlight hitting her face making her look a tad older but more mysterious. Suddenly she heard a shout at the edge of the ocean. She ran over and saw another man get pulled into the water. A stream of red flowed changing the color of the water. Suddenly a woman screamed "MY BABY! MY BABY IS IN THE BOAT!" Umbra looked at the boat. It had a man and a young girl in it. They were obviously watching from the water.

Umbra ran past them, her cloak was unlatched and it drifted to the ground. She ran across the dock and jumped into the water. She swam towards the boat trying to get there. Suddenly she saw something above her, she turned and saw a water elemental swimming towards the boat. She kicked the ground and lauched herself. They were almost neck and neck but she was slowly falling behind. He was a fast swimmer and she had not practiced in months. She followed, 'I only have one chance' she said and grabbed the elemental by the foot and pulled trying to slow him down.

What is this! The thought that attached to the grabbing of his scaly leg, stopping he turned around to face the person to have done it. It was a woman of some sorts, and the fact that she had come down to fight him was an act of bravery in a sense, Bravery is always an act of foolishness, but she might be fun to play with. Shaking his foot away he dived deeper, taking his spear from his back. When he was deeper he would fight, that is if she was stupid, as she wouldn’t last very long with out breath. The water was darker a few feet below his original position as the light struggled to pass that far, which he believed was a sure sign that Water wasn’t working for the light but for darkness.

Drate moved very quickly and soon he was putting his spear in front of him and pointing at the girl. With an utter of something in aquatic, he casted Blur and suddenly moved faster than normal, which looked very odd in the water, as the ripples mingled with the blur effect. He rushed forward at the girl aiming a cut along her chest. He did not plan to kill her yet only to have fun. The black shafted spear arched thought the water to the side of him as he planned a hit and run against her. He did not mean to kill her yet but have fun, Drate was in all sense sadistic when it cam to killing in the sea, as the prey where usually quite helpless against him. He was actually quite well known. He saw her dark emerald eyes before he attacked spear slashing.

Umbra flew back as she was shaken off. She shook her head, she had to stop him. She watched him go deeper and she followed. She could hardly see in the dark but she had to find him. She did not really care about stopping him, but she wanted to save the girl.

Suddenly the water looked strange and she went wide-eyed as he cut along her chest which threw her backwards and onto the ground. She held her chest, a single line of blood could be seen. She closed her eyes wincing at the pain, but more at the fact her lungs were now burining, begging for the air she so desperately needed. She watched trying to find him.

She got up and grabbed her dagger. It was not that usefull in the water by itself but she had a plan. She gave a half smile and pointed it at the water elemental. She closed here eyes and began to consentrate. A red aura surrounded her and soon the wound was healed. She opened her eyes and watched. Waiting for his next move.

Drate was annoyed as the smell of blood dwindled as she healed herself with the same powers that he himself used. Dark regeneration was a sweet gift. But something hit him why isn’t she evil? and if she was why is she helping people. Ah! The boat! Humans! Turning quickly, he rushed toward the nearest boat he could get too. The force of him slamming into the side of the boat capsized it in one. So that man inside it was quickly set upon with claws and teeth, creating a barrier of blood surrounded Drate and the whole boat so none of it was visible. The flesh was nice and it was good to eat again after his quick snack on the first and second victims. He still had over a minute left on his Blur spell and decided to kill the woman and then kill as many people as he could.

Two thuds sounded on the bottom of the capsized boat meaning that the village guard had finally come, and where shooting arrows at a boat, Very useful.
Darting out of the bloody cloud as if appearing from a think wall, he rushed at the woman again this time thrusting the spear ahead of him instead of a sweep across which meant to impale the woman so he could attack her other ways.

Umbra looked around her as blood filled the water, she could not see him. Soon her lungs burned crying out for oxygen. She smiled and pushed up from the ground trying to get to the surface. To get air. She would not warn people, they should have already been out of the water the moment the first victums were taken. No this was a fight she could get into. A fight that demanded her stratigy.

She made a hand sign and continued to swim. Suddenly she heard something from behind her and she turned. Swiftly a spear ran through her. She let go of her breath and air bubbles swiftly went upwards. Her eyes were wide. 'Now' she thought. She soon sucked in water and closed her mouth. Her eyes closed and she fell limp.

The spear hit the girl but it didn’t look to deep or that much of a chance it killing her but the surprise of it seemed to make her fill her lungs with water and drown. No one messes with me! A small amount of blood came from her small wound and started to thin out and then dissipate. He body was limp and ready for eating. Pulling out this spear, he replaced it on his back and move towards her not particularly rushing. Moonlight pierced the top of the water still and the lights of lanterns added to that and the stars.

As he drew near and arrow landed near him but he ignored the foolish humans . Reaching to grab the woman’s body he also moved as if to take a bite at the stab wound he had just inflicted. But that close he could feel a heartbeat though the water, still alive?! Snarling angrily he ripped forward and would bite even harder that he would of before. Mouth open wide ready to eat.

Umbra floated slowly to the ground and hit. She felt the spear be removed. She hit the ground and fell flat. The moonlight perced the water, and the water elemental moved closer. Suddenly she faded in and out of unconciousness, the water elemental grew closer as her heart beat faster trying to get oxygen. The elemental lashed at her and bit onto her shoulder. She winced and opened her mouth. But it was the move she was waiting for. She grabbed her dagger and lunged it at him. But the dagger was not meant for him. Instead it peirced the water, part of the blade dissapearing and the water around them was filled with blood. She wrapped her arms around the water elemental and pushed up headding for shore. She could already start feeling the surges of the thunder hammer spread through the water. She finished her hand sign and they both became a blur headding to the surface and out of the water. "Hold on" she said looking back she saw a human become visible and die from the electricity pumping thru him. The electricity shot up at them and she felt the surges from it. She had to get them to shore. And quick, more for his sake than hers.
