Title: Midnight Survival
Description: Open to all.

Viashineo - July 19, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Every step that Viashineo took was followed by the crunch of bones. Several times, the remains of limbs or other round like bones, almost caused the socerer to lose his balance. To him, the matter of travelling through the parts of the land was not because he was lost, or looking for something, but to reflect.

Years ago, this land saw death and bloodshead, as countless number of people were slain. It ws all done by the hands of one group, a group of deadly and ruthless demons, liches, and other unearthly beings. Their reasoning was unknown to Viashineo, but as he looked out across the barren battlefield, he admired their work.

He sighed as he reached flat ground, recently passing over a large pile of remains, no doubt crated by a scavenger. The dirt was turning pale, and the whole environment had a certain unwelcoming aura. Every now and then, his ears caught sounds, similiar to screams and moans, but the lich ignored them. Such sounds could not frighten him, his decision to travel to this land was his, and the sorcerer knew what to expect. For, he is also the product of death, and the magical relam that corrolates with it.

Viashineo took a step forward, resuming his pace. But, he paused after taking that step, when it was followd by the rustling of bones. He lifted his foot and looked to the ground, looking for a source. Perhaps he had stepped on a bone, but there was nothing below him, or in front, just behind. When the sound was repeated, Victus turned, towards the only other possible explanation.

As the sorcerer turned his head around, glancing behind him, his eye caught the sight of motion. A bone, rolling down a pile, and then stopping as it hit the dirt. Curious, Viashineo brought his whole body around, and stood directly towards the mass of bones. He glanced around, not knowing what to look for, until his observations came to a dead stop, focusing on one area.

From the pile, burst out a skeletal hand, it's ghostly white fingers reaching towards the moon. Viashineo looked up, noticing how dark it had become, and how bright the stars were shining. He then brought his attention to the hand, as it slowly rised, revealing more and more of the boney arm.

"Should have seen it coming." Viashineo muttered to himself, while unslinging Shadowborne, and unsheathing Necrosis.

Avadon - July 19, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
It was an especially evil night that situation, and it showed. You noticed that the nearby tower was shrouded with a dangerous storm, extremely dark and possibly very powerful in nature.

Nightshade was unnerved by the very sight of the beings here. But he had every intention of completing the ritual. Suddenly, a bone ghoul appeared as he walked the elevated places, and almost caught Nightshade off guard. Lashing at it, he decided to capture it, and bring it back to the cauldron, his goal yet again to make the eldritch god. It was the first of many souls he would gather for the place.

1 down, 9999 to go...

Malisaro - July 19, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
Malisaro kicked a rotting bone aside as he walked throught the dead plains, his face was hidden in the shadow of his hood, not that any of his face could be seen anyway for his mask. Onnly a pair of blood red eyes shone through, completely devoid of mercy. He walked through theese places, because it was here that many people died, and he envied them. And yet some insisted on returning from the grave, if they knew what true immortality was, then they wouldn't want to even consider coming back. He turned at the sound of a noise, something rolling down a pile. He turned and followed the source. He looked up and saw the form of a lich facing a large skeletal hand pushing its way out of the ground.
"Should have seen it coming."
The figure drew two shadow weopons, Malisaro eyed them, then looked up at the monstrocity trying to break out. He raised his own hand and his lightning blade floated from its scabbard into his hand and lightning began coarsing around the blade.
"The dead don't seem to like staying dead" Malisaro said to the Lich "either that, or somebodies casting conjuring tricks, care to snuff them out?"

Viashineo - July 19, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
Apparently, a man had snuck up to his side as Viashineo pondered the situation. The stranger talked, and he responded.

"Either way, something is ging to experience death." the sorcerer said. He then walked back into the mass of bones, until he reached the location of the emerging skeleton.

By then, the whole upper half of it's body ws protruding, except for one hand. It saw Viashineo, and took a swing at him, with a bone it had picked up. He movd back, out of range of the attack. Before the undead being could come back or another attack, he took a swing with Shadowborne, at the head of the skeleton, sending the skull onto another pile of bone.

However, the body continued to struggle its way out, and Viashineo continued to whack at it, until it's motion ceased. He sighed, but then stopped his breath and several more areas of the land covered in bone began to move, with bones being pushed to and fro.

Viashineo looked to the stranger. "Might be easier than it sounds." he chuckled, realizing how opposite the situation was.

Malisaro - July 19, 2006 08:41 PM (GMT)
Malisaro watched as the Lich quickley took care of the giant skeleton, one problem over and now trouble. Malisaro was on the brink of putting his sword away when he heard more rumbling of bone. He turned about.
"Might be easier than it sounds"
"I've had worse" Malisaro said quite truthefully.
A bone flew at Malisaro and he caught it in one hand and tossed it aside. He looked up at the half emerged zombie and ran forewards.
"Go back to hell" he said and drove his sword throught sthe skull, the beast was instantly electrified and it shook violently and fell apart joint by joint. Malisaro stepped back and looked about at the rest.
"Your turn" he said.

Still hunting down the undead here, he knew the goal would probably never be reached. He noticed the 2 forces batting the undeads here, probably looking for something to do. Then he noticed that they all were beginning to rise again, intent on attacking all of them. Already 5 were emerging from the ground itself.

Viashineo - July 20, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
When the stranger had eliminated his single target, Viashineo glanced around and sighed. More and more of the blasted undead were rising from the ground.

"I was just being considerate. Didn't want to take all the fun you know." he said, turning to face the closest skeleton. He threew his left arm out, bashing the monster, and momentarily dazing it. Then, the sorcerer made a quick swip with Necrosis, slicing the body in half.

But as he was doing this, a couple more had finished rising form the ground, and more continued. "This is crazy, yet entertaining." Viashineo thought to himself. Taking only a seocnd, he glanced around to see if there was someone around that could be reanimating the blasted nuisances. "Nothing..."

"Come closer if you still want to fight, and at least have a good chance at living after." Victus shouted to the man, while preparing to cast a spell.

Avadon - July 20, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
Remembering the leather armor he had purchased in the mart recently, he gathered it from his pack and equipped it. "Tell me about it. Those undead tend to be dangerous, especially on a full moon." He said, nodding. "I am Nightshade, intent on capturing these undeads for a mysterious ritual I intend to perform. The problem is earning 10,000 souls..." Although he was a paladin, he knew that they could possibly help him to accomplish his goals, where applicable.

Viashineo - July 20, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
"I am not partial to introductions...at times.... like... this." Viashineo responded, in his natural, eerie, and slow voice. As he did, the sorcerer pointed his staff up in the air, and fire appeared on the ground, about twenty feet away. The fire grew, and encircled him, leaving him and others trapped inside. Unless, of course, they wanted to go through the fire.

Victus knew that the spell wall would not last long, and that he had to take care of the skeletons quickly. Realizing his reasoning, Viashineo lunged as one of the undead tried to punch him. In return, another skeleton was whacked in the skull, lobbing it off the body.

"I have managed to reduce the numbers for the moment. Get to!" Victus shouted.

Malisaro - July 21, 2006 12:38 PM (GMT)
"Lightning bolt!"
A blast of lightning magic flew from Malisaro's palm hitting a skeleton right in the face and shattering it.
"Looks like they can't stand having their bones rattled" Malisaro said cutting off the arm of another one in a very bored way.
He looked up at the centaur and then at the fire ring.
"At least they can't run away" he muttered "shooting star!"
The spell knocked another skeleton off its feet and its head rolled off.
"You'd think they wanted to get destroyed" Malisaro muttered "they're barely putting up a fight"

Viashineo - July 21, 2006 02:13 PM (GMT)
As Viashineo finished off another skeleton, only one remained. His blunt staff was rather useful, rattling their bodies and causing their boney structure to fall apart. The skeletons didn't like it, realizing how much the sorcerer was taking over the fight, but he loved it.

"One....more..." Victus said, looking to the last skeleton. His lich voice was directed to the undead, and it stopped in it's tracks. Then, it continued to walk towards them. As soon as it came in range, Necrosis swiped at it wildly, splitting it's bones, and overall removing the skeleton from this plane of existance.

Now, the fire ring was beginning to weaken, and Viashineo could see the other man on the other side fighting. He had forgotten that that stranger had not made it into the confines of the wall, but remained fighting outside. And, by the lookes of it, he was still alive.

"These skeletons are growing to bore and dissatisfy me." Viashineo muttered.

Avadon - July 23, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
Nightshade killed the last zombie. They were too weak. But there was another soul. Taking his remains, he returned them to the tower, then left the area for now. Perhaps on a blood red moon they would really awaken, he thought as he left.

Viashineo - July 25, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Without a word, the centaur left Viashineo's safety, and walked out into the distance. Behind him, dragged one of the skelton's bodies, making a path of dug up dirt. However, Viashineo turned his attention to the other stranger, and the battlefield, before he could watch the warrior disappear from view.

"I guess that is the last of them." Viashineo sighed, talking into the night. He was unsure if the other man had heard him, but it did not matter, Viashineo had his own plans. So, he collected himself, slinging and sheathing his weapons, and then redirected his bearings.

And with that, he was off, walking back towards his original destination, before the situation had occured. All the while though, he wondered what had happened, and who he had just allied with.
