Title: Wanderer's Upset
Description: Wanderer's Upset
Seolfur - July 11, 2006 04:57 PM (GMT)
Seolfur was wandering along the trails on the insides of the small mountains as usual. Only the clean, rain smell and the beautiful lake views give tranquil thoughts to one who has so few. Tonight the mountainside was steep enough to see over the tall pine trees and the moon made it's reflection on the very center of the elliptical lake. The glassy water showed no ripples tonight. A Nightingale sang and broke the silence. The muddy path caused him to leave large footprints with his large, heavy boots.
Suddenly, he heard a rustle in the undergrowth behind him. Possibly a pursuer.
Just to be safe he excaimed, "I know you're there, reveal yourself.", calmly but loudly. He didn't expect a reply.
Axle Revera - July 12, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
"Paranoia often strikes at the hearts of those who have done something wrong." Axle's voice seemed to come from all directions, bouncing off the mountain's rocky walls. He watched from the security of an outcrop of rocks some distance above the path the man was traveling. His red eyes glared in the darkness, and his pale complexion shined like ivory in the moon light. Axle had his katana half drawn, ready to take the man's life if he felt that he deserved it.
Axle hadn't intend to do any killing tonight. He was on his way to a village to see if their were any criminals that required punishment for their actions when he stumbled across this man, intent on just passing by without being noticed. However, when a simple rustling of some plant life seemed to spark the man's attention Axle grew curious as to why. Perhaps this man was on the run, using these mountain trails to avoid being caught.
"You haven't done anything wrong have you?"
Seolfur - July 12, 2006 09:43 PM (GMT)
"I'm not sure, and that kills me." Seolfur said. He didn't feel he should tell his story to someone who wouldn't even reveal themselves. Seolfur didn't even think he should stop walking for him. So he didn't. Seolfur readyed himself by resting his hand on the pommel of hi shortsword.
Axle Revera - July 12, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
"If you have indeed done something, you have no idea how true your words ring true..." Axle moved like the shadow of the rocks behind him, moving along as the man walked and approaching at the same time. He would not let a criminal slip through his fingers, nor would he kill an innocent man. These circumstances were taxing on his patience but still, it was for a greater cause.
"You prepare for combat quickly, afraid?"
Seolfur - July 12, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
"Calm yourself, man." said Seolfur, still looking forward with no idea of his pusuer's location, "I wish no fight, I only responded this way because I am not sure if my wrong was truly wrong. I beleive I am not evil. I will explain if you reveal yourself instead of hiding in the shadows." Then as and afterthought,"Killing me now would be a crime anyway for I have no possibility of defending myself and have not had a chance to explain myself." Then he muttered under his breath, "Paranoia!? Hippocrit."
Axle Revera - July 12, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
Axle's inhuman ears picked up his whispered words and smiled with amusement. "I am not paranoid. I am just treading carefully. As you said, if you are indeed inocent, I would have to take my own life for taking yours." He suddenly seemed to materialize from the shadows, his red cloak was the color of blood in the light of the moon, and were a darker contrast to his brighter red eyes. His pale skin and ivory white teeth also gleamed, an over all haunting appearance.
"I mean you no harm... at the moment." Axle's smile was anything but reassuring.
Seolfur - July 13, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
Seolfur jumped at the sudden entry and almost drew his sword but didn't. He glanced at the red and black figure, sighed, and continued walking.
Axle Revera - July 13, 2006 12:17 AM (GMT)
"Not one for talking are you?" Axle followed behind the man with slow steps of his own. Like a specter he remained in silence, waiting for an explanation. Ussually, if the person was a criminal they would of struck at Axle, perhaps this man was innocent. In which case Axle was probably wasting his time. But, this man's personality seemed entertaining enough to spend more time observing.
Seolfur - July 13, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
Seolfur, being partly antisocial, did not understand Axle's intentions in following him and simply continued walking with relativly loud footsteps.
Axle Revera - July 13, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
Axle pouted in a dissapointment when an idea flashed into his mind. "Do you need something to wake you up?" He drew his blade, hoping that the sound alone would catch the man's attention. If that didn't work perhaps a quick spar would. Axle slowed his walking so that he could prepare to strike if neseccary. This night was becoming more and more amusing by the passing of moments.
Seolfur - July 13, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
"Put the sword away I'm awake!"Seolfur said angrily," What do you want from me, follower?" He made no effort to hide the fact that he had a tight grip on the handle of his sword.
Axle Revera - July 13, 2006 10:30 AM (GMT)
"I want for all people that have taken the lives of innocent people to have their own lives taken away." Axle began to circle to the front of the man, always facing him with a look of pleasure on his face. "And in the scenario where you are a murderer on the run, I could not let you live this night. But I do not know if you are a wanted man. So I find myself in quite the pickle. Care to assist my decision?" Axle was now infront of the man, his katana ready to be drawn.
Seolfur - July 13, 2006 12:14 PM (GMT)
"I punish myself just fine. Go away, I never murdered anyone." Seolfur said as he tried to sidestep around axle. The moon was beginning to fall again.
Axle Revera - July 13, 2006 12:29 PM (GMT)
"You are really bland..." Axle's smile turned into a dissapointed frown. He removed his hand from his weapon and crossed his arms over his chest. "Well that is to be expected from a high elf..." He shrugged but didn't make any other movements.
Seolfur - July 13, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
. . . and Seolfur decided he wanted nothing to do with this crazy do-gooder with a sword. So he continued walking past axle and on the road again.
