Title: Dilemium's Awakening
Description: Open To All
Dilemium - July 10, 2006 03:56 AM (GMT)
Gazing out of the top of the tower, Dilemium was curious. Why had he become a savage killing machine? He thought about the humans and how selfish they were. His heart had gone out for them, but when time came, he felt as if he had to destroy them. Nothing in this world beside him was important anymore.
He smiled at the thought of how he used to sit in this old tower, looking up at the twinkling stars. His soul, his blood, his heart was all apart of him as it once wasn't.
Cold and stiff, he wrapped himself in a large rag across the chest. He felt the coldness of his blade touch him as he moved around. He swiftly and quietly layed himself across the floor like a bundle of rugs.
Killing came across his mind as if it was a normal thing. The only way to survive this world was to destroy, to take what was once living and put it to sleep. None of this seemed to bother him, except the fact of his race dying.
Being in this world so long made him be able to speak perfect human, as if he were one. He could communicate to the orcs as well. Learning human language was advanced for his culture and very usefull.
This tower was like a home to him. Nothing there wasn't his. He even had a pet mouse, until he got hungry. His whole life was this tower. He had no idea who, where, or what his family is. He had no friends, nobody to talk to. Just him and his tower, a goddess to him.
Looking out the window he saw a figure in the distance comming toward the tower. He thought to himself, Who could this be? Nobody comes here... Ever.
With the thing comming nearer, he went to the bottom of the tower. Standing at the door to greet the thing. As soon as he heard the knock on the door, he opened it to find the unkown visitor.

A small girl stood in the doorway, her face surprised to actually find someone opening the door. Wasn't this tower deserted? Well, it had been once but now it seemed to have a new occupent, and he didn't look all too friendly.
The half-elf Jess raised her hands to show that she held no weapons, not that she had none, but because she was exhausted and really didn't feel like a fight.
'I'm sorry,' she said politely to the figure in the doorway. 'I thought this tower was deserted.' When the tall man made no move, Jess began to feel uneasy and rested her hand on the hilt of her dagger.
Just in case.
Dilemium - July 10, 2006 04:33 PM (GMT)
He stood in amazement, not knowing what to say. Some things in life are surprising, and this was one of them.
Looking down at the lady he wondered what race it was. Human? Elf? Shapeshifter? All of these came to mind when he thought about her. He had never seen an elf or a lady human. It was exciting for him, but in a way he never wanted to see this person. It was happening all too fast at once
"Wha-what's your name?" He mumbled, "Why are you here?"
Still holding the rag around him, he took it off and offered it to the lady in case she was cold. He was intelligent sometimes unlike other orcs. Stupid and lazy.
Hoping that the lady might leave soon, he felt uneasy as if he was about to vomet.
He saw her hand reach for something in her, looked as if a sword.
"Please, I won't harm you, don't grab your weapon."
With only a scimitar and not much training in combat, he knew he wouldn't win a fight. He decided to try to make friends with the lady instead. Maybe getting some information off of her.
"Come in, don't be shy."
gracefulassassin - July 10, 2006 11:55 PM (GMT)
Jess gratefully took the rag with a murmur of thanks. 'My name is Jess,' she said, stepping inside the slightly warmer tower and looking around. 'I was just passing by when it started to get dark so I decided to camp here, seeing as it's deserted. Or was.' she said with a slight smile.
When the orc next to her shivered with cold, Jess offered him back the rag. 'You probably need this more then I do.' she said as he took it from her. Then, the small half-elf raised her right hand and clicked. A fireball burst into life, spinning slowly on her palm. 'Here,' she said, and threw the fireball to the orc. It stopped just before it hit his chest and began to slowly spin around him, warming the air.
Jess did the same for herself and looked quizzically at the tall orc. 'So what your name then?' she asked, her face curious.
Dilemium - July 11, 2006 12:47 AM (GMT)
"Thank you," he said. He thought about the woman for a second, wondering if she'd stay... Nobody would stay with a orc at night.
"My name is Dilemium, this is my home,"
The fireball was bursting with heat, he soon didn't need the rag for it would be too hot. Everything he thought about was erased inside his head. It was all about the girl now. The first human lady he's ever seen. "Not to mention, a pretty one too," he thought. He burst out with laughter, not able to hold it in. He hoped the girl wouldn't ask him.
"You could stay the night in my bed, I'll sleep on the floor."
He pointed to her an old, dirt smothered, bed. The wood on it was cracking, a leg fell off. Red with bloodstains, black on the inside.
He looked at the girl again wondering why she was out in the dark. There was another question to ask her. He just didn't want to yet.
She seemed peaceful, quiet. He would love her to stay with him at night.
"Well it must be getting late. I must go to bed."
He took a blanket that was lying around and put it on the floor. One step forward he got a pillow, ripped with feathers flying everywhere.
"I'll see you in the morning."
With that he doze off, waiting for morning to come. Hoping to learn more of the girl.

Feeling very grateful to the orc, Jess went and sat down on the bed. She looked at it calmly. In truth it wasn't in good shape at all, but after almost a week of hard travel, any bed at all would be paradise.
Jess stretched out on the old sheets, her fireball warming her, and thought about the orc that was lying peacefully on the ground. Jess had never before met a single orc, but from meeting this one, she found the old stories about orcs being murderous, blood-thirsty, killing machines hard to believe.
Her eyelids growing heavy, Jess slowly started to drift off into a deep and dreamless sleep, all her thoughts about orcs and the old tales.
Dilemium - July 11, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
Waking up in the morning, he felt so much more alive. The whole girl thing that happened yesterday is all he thought about. Quickly realizing about the girl, he went to check on her. She was sound asleep. He didn't want to wake her up, he didn't know what kind of grumpy mood she would be in.
He chuckled to himself. Thinking of all the fun times he could have with this woman. Until... He thought about if she was human. He could not have a human resting in his home. She couldn't stay if she was human. He had to kill her if she was human. It was time to ask her the questions he's been dying to ask. As soon as she wakes up.
He slowly thought of his dark side. He had much to learn. Much to overcome. She is one of them. He must kill her before she awakes. But if he does that, he wouldn't know what she was. Soon enough she will wake. Even if he has to himself.
Life seemed so meaningless to him at that point. A very fast mood swing, a mood swing as if he felt he had to kill something.
He tried to hold back, but he can't. He either kills her or makes friends with her. He ouldn't decide. A little bit of human to eat wouldn't kill him. Unless she did.
Thinking of all this stuff to himself he heard a groan. He turned back to the girl, still sound asleep, twisting and turning as if she had a nightmare. He thought about the right thing to do and wake her up.
"Hey! Wake up! Your having a nightmare!"

Jess sat bolt upright, covered in cold sweat. It took her a moment to realise where she was and what was happening. When she finally calmed down, she turned to Dilemium almost apollogetically. 'I'm sorry.' she said with a slight smile, 'Did I wake you?' When he shook his head, Jess felt relieved.
That would have been a bad way to thank her host for his hospitality.
When she looked in his eyes however, she noticed something. 'Whats wrong?' she asked, a small frown crossing her features for a second. 'Has something happened?'
Dilemium - July 11, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
Dilemium stared at the girl, not knowing where he was or what he's doing.
He snapped out of it, shaking his head. "N-no you didn't wake me, I woke you," he said smiling. She looked a little worried. As if i were going to kill her. He stared into her eyes seeing fear brought in her.
"I'm sorry, nothing happened, I just... I-I had a slight arguement in my head, one I won the good side on."
He was still tired, not knowing when he'd awaken.
"Come with me, we will talk outside." He felt uneasy as if he was about to puke, once again. But this time it really happened. Vomet was covered on the floor. Not knowing what to do, he opened the door pointing the girl outside.
"I need to talk with you... Outside."
The cold morning air felt good on him. The disgusting taste in his mouth of vomet. Nothing could stop him from asking those questions now. Nothing. He felt the scimitar rubbing against him, giving he a slight cut.
"Tis but a flesh wound!" He said smiling, pointing her to come outside
gracefulassassin - July 11, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)
As the orc was sick Jess patted him on the back then followed him outside, her thoughts confused. So orcs could have a good and bad side, so part of the old tales was at least based on truth. Once outside, Jess turned to the orc, her face bewildered. 'So what is it that you need to talk about?' the small girl asked, not exactly expecting anything bad to happen, but ready incase something did happen. Jess waited, the cool morning wind blowing her hair out behind her and causing her green silk dress to flutter in the wind.
Dilemium - July 11, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
"What I need to know is what race you are, and why you were traveling out at dark," Dilemium said. He knew something was up and had to find out. Nothing could stop him from finding out the truth of this girl. She looked so innocent, but innocent or not she had something going wrong.
His bald head felt good in the wind of the morning, he still felt sick. He needed to get some herbs, but he had no cash for some or didn't know where some were. Because of that he decided he would be a true orc and suck it up.
He stood tall, as if he was proud and had lots of courage. He's been through many things, some not like this. Wishing he knew his family, he felt the urge to have a war against the humans, a giant war. Bloodrushing through his veins, he felt alive more then ever.
Nothing was true to him anymore, his whole body was numb. He needed something to drink. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small canteen, and drank some water. "Want some?" He offered the girl.
As an orc, he needed to calm down a bit. His temper has been high lately, frustrated on which god had created things. People were outraged at orcs, killing them off one by one. He had to do something. Knowing he could help aid the orcs into battle. He knew he had to go on a journey, to find the orcs and lead them into battle.
"I am in need of your assistance. Would you come with me on a journey? A journey to find the orcs and help aid them in battle against the filthy humans. I promise you will make it back safely, not harmed." He said standing up straight. Hoping for a yes.
Some people would say no. He hoped this girl was not one of them. They have developed a bond. A bond in which could not be lost. A bond in friendship. Knowing what could happen between life or death. He felt a surge of power before him. A power he had to let loose.
The orcs needed him. He needed the orcs.

Taken slightly aback, Jess hesitated for a moment. 'What race I am? I- I'm a half-elf, well, more elf i s'pose.' When Dilemium looked very relieved, Jess thought about his other question. She didn't want to offend the orc which she had quickly befriended, but go all out against the humans? Tough call. Still, she could definetly make some good profit from a war. Finally Jess made up her mind. 'Alright then, I'll come and I will help. But on one condition. No half breed is to be harmed. Agreed?'
