View Full Version: Island of the Past

Arda > Palanen Ocean > Island of the Past

Title: Island of the Past
Description: open to all, especially dragons.

Kirana - July 9, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
Kirana flew over the Palanean Ocean, trying to forget her memories of her childhood, of that fateful night, when the dragon's came and killed her mother, father, brother... lover...

Stop it! she told herself sternly. You know what will happen. Remember last time... Oh, yes, she remembered last time. Last time, she thought about her deceased lover, Ronnoh, while flying over grassy fields, when she got so emotional, she dropped out of the sky because she wasn't concentrating.

Now, Kirana was struggling to keep her mind straight. She flew to be free, in the sky and up into the air, where nothing can disturb you, no love can be broken from flying...

After a while, she found a smallish island, with a few palm trees and a... a bonfire, it looked like. Kirana was very interested and wanted to know more people that can help her find a way out of this mess, someone that she can talk to... about the past...

She landed on the sandy beach with a thump that shuddered and froze trees. Very slowly, she began to transform back into a human again... She was supposed to stretch out every...single...muscle...that she transformed out of. It gave her more flexibility and it was very comforting to be in her own skin again, not that she disliked being a dragon...
Aaaaahhhhh....

She walked slowly on the beach until she reached the bonfire. She saw someone sitting by it... but couldn't know who. She walked stealthily, incase it was a imposter. It was a skill she didn't practice a lot of and right now, she needed it.

kai_fox - July 12, 2006 03:16 PM (GMT)
It wasn't as if Kai particularly liked the ocean...at that, he didn't much like large bodies of water altogether, but he'd found a peaceful place to relax, maybe come back to every so often to rest or even sleep, a place that probably not many people would find. Specifically, an island a short distance off the coast, which he'd been able to swim to easily enough, though when he'd gotten to it he had to shake himself off to get his fur mostly dry.

Fortunately, though, there were a few palm trees around, and where there were trees, there were likely also branches and/or leaves, which seemed plentiful enough as he gathered them up, laying them in the center. By this point, his hands were dry, so he was able to ignite one of his fingers, flicking a small fireball to the pile that rose a decent, warming fire, which he sat down by.

His ears perking up, however, the blue fox-boy looked up to the sky, where he'd heard the sound of large wings, and spotted a dragon coming down and landing a ways away on the island. They'd probably spotted the fire...but whether they were friend or otherwise, he couldn't worry about that too much at the moment, given that he was in effect surrounded by water, and wouldn't do much good in a fight here. Thus, he decided to simply sit by the fire, looking over in the direction that he'd heard, and perhaps more felt, the dragon land. But instead of a dragon, it was a girl that he saw walk between the trees, though she did have some distinct scales, and seemingly didn't want to be seen.

"You can come out if you want, I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about from me," he called out, his voice fairly pleasant, more befitting a human than one of his form.

Kirana - July 15, 2006 12:14 PM (GMT)
Kirana stepped lightly onto the sand, her shoes in her hand as she heard the voice saying, "You can come out if you want, I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about from me,"

Kirana took a deep breath and started to walk towards the blue fox boy, sitting by the huge bonfire. The sun reflected off the half dragon's black hair, giving it a shine and sparkle. She like company by the ocean, and liked the roaring sound that surround her as she sped up to a fast walk.

The voice sounded friendly, so Kirana was excited to meet a new friend. Finally, she started running, the wind in her hair, her legs carring her to the blue fox boy. She stopped in front of him and said, "Thank you." She realized she was out of breath.
"Could I sit down, because I'm really tired and I had a long flight."

kai_fox - July 15, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
Simply sitting there for the moment, he watched as the girl came out into the open, her black hair apparently the somewhat less common type that the sun reflected off, though that could've been because she was apparently a dragon, or at least half-dragon...he couldn't really be sure. As she walked, she sped up a bit, probably to get closer to the fire quicker. Finally, she started running over, which apparently got her out of breath once she reached him, stepping in front of him.

"Thank you," the girl said. "Could I sit down, because I'm really tired and I had a long flight."

"Of course, go ahead," he said, motioning to the space surrounding the fire, inviting her to sit where ever she pleased. "So...mind if I ask your name? Mine's Kai."

Kirana - August 25, 2006 12:19 PM (GMT)
Kirana smiled as she sat down by the fire. She heards the blue fox boy saying, "Of course, go ahead. So...mind if I ask your name? Mine's Kai."
Kirana smiled and held out a dainty hand. She said, "I'm Kirana, Marauder of the sea. I've come for peace and my island, which I tried to visit here a few years ago. I found that A tribe of Cannibals inhabited the area, and they loved Dragons, since they are so rare around here..."

She looked around uncertainly, her hand on her ice blade. "They're not here still, are they?" she said with a trace of fear in her voice.

kai_fox - August 26, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
(huh, didn't really expect you to post here)

"I'm Kirana, Marauder of the sea. I've come for peace and my island, which I tried to visit here a few years ago. I found that a tribe of Cannibals inhabited the area, and they loved Dragons, since they are so rare around here..." the girl said, smiling and holding out her hand, and Kai shook it gently. "They're not here still, are they?" she continued, placing a hand on her blade, a hint of fear in her voice.

"Not that I've noticed...far as I can see, hear, or smell, the island's deserted, otherwise I probably wouldn't have set up this fire. So...if you don't mind me asking, are you full dragon, or just half? I've met a few of both before in all the places I've been," he said.

Anya - November 30, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
((Soz, But if you don't mind me posting for Kirana!))

Kirana felt a huge wave of relief wash over her. She then did a strange thing. She took of her sandals and started to dance around the fire. Her body movement was very fluid and emotional. It always seemed to put people in a trance but this time, she wasn't intending to. It was a dance of joy because for years she wanted to dominate the island but the cannibals always interfered and she came very close to becoming a roast half dragon, thanks to Ronnoh.

As soon as her thoughts tuned to Ronnoh, she stopped dancing immediately and fell on the floor like she sprained her ankle. Tears sprung to her eyes again, but she quickly brushed them away when she suddenly realised that Kai was there. The last thing she wanted was troubling him with her problems.

She bit her lip and stayed silent, staring into the dancing fire...

kai_fox - November 30, 2006 07:18 PM (GMT)
(eh, no problem, still the same person)

Looking on in curiosity and slight surprise, Kai watched as Kirana sprang up, removing her sandals, and began to dance around the fire, in rather fluid motions that seemed to carry some emotion behind them. Sure, she didn't seem to have noticed his question, but that was fine, it was simply out of curiosity anyway.

Then she suddenly fell back to the ground, tears beginning to well up in her eyes before she quickly brushed them away, perhaps because he was here. He'd still noticed them, though, and she seemed like a rather nice person, so he wanted to do what he could to help.

Getting up and slipping his hands in his pockets briefly, he walked over to where she sat, sitting down not too far from her and glancing over to her. "Suppose I won't ask why you're so sad, it probably has something to do with your past anyway, so none of my business really. But...if there's anything I can do to help, feel free to say so," he said in a calming voice, smiling slightly.

Anya - November 30, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
Kirana looked at him and couldn't help but burst into tears. She hugged Kai and said nothing, but sobbed into his tunic. She didn't really want to tell him just yet, but crying did help. And since he invited her to tell him why she was so sad, well, here it is. She weeped.

Thoughts ran through her head as her mind debated over the fact if she should tell Kai about her past...everything that happened. Not now, said a small voice in her head

kai_fox - November 30, 2006 07:36 PM (GMT)
Blinking in surprise as Kirana suddenly burst into tears, Kai simply let it be and wrapped his arms gently around her, allowing her to simply get everything out that she needed to without any sort of interruptions or anything, whether from him or anyone else, though nobody else was here anyway, he could already tell and had already checked. It wasn't as if this was a particularly known place anyway...it might even be a good place to come back to and relax, though he'd have to deal with the water.

So, waiting for Kirana to calm down, he simply sat there like that, not minding in the least.

Anya - December 1, 2006 06:35 PM (GMT)
Kirana wept for another while until she realised that she was crying silver tears again. This must be bad, she thought. She stood up and said, "I'm really sorry. I shouldn't be telling you this, but I have to, otherwise it won't get off my chest and out of my eyes."

She paced around the fire once and she sat down next to Kai and began.
"When I was born, my mother loved my father very much and because I was a girl, father decided to make a destiny for me. He began teaching the art of the sword. But then The War came and Father had to go to war. He never came back.
"Soon afterwards, Fire Dragons came and attacked my village. Mother died in that attack, and myself and my lover, Ronnoh, were the only ones who escaped the attack.
"For about six months or so, Ronnoh and I lived in the forest nearby. We lived on rabbit and deer and we had a nice little treehouse. One day when we were hunting, a stampede of wild horses ran through our territory. I managed to climb up a tree, but Ronnoh was not so lucky..."

She sniffed loudly as her silver eyes brimmed with tears once more as she remembered the losses. She couldn't bear it. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't be telling you this!" she repeated and she cried into his lap, like a child. She felt like a child when she felt Kai's warm embrace. She loved it, and somehow she hoped he would embrace her again...

kai_fox - December 1, 2006 06:39 PM (GMT)
"I'm really sorry. I shouldn't be telling you this, but I have to, otherwise it won't get off my chest and out of my eyes," Kirana said, standing up and pacing around the fire once before sitting back down next to him. "When I was born, my mother loved my father very much and because I was a girl, father decided to make a destiny for me. He began teaching the art of the sword. But then The War came and Father had to go to war. He never came back. Soon afterwards, Fire Dragons came and attacked my village. I managed to climb up a tree, but Ronnoh was not so lucky..." Sniffing loudly, Kirana's eyes began to fill with tears once more now that she'd said all this. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't be telling you this!" she cried once more, now into his lap, and he looked down to her sadly. She'd definitely had a hard past, but then so had he, being kicked out of his home by his own family when he was five because of his powers and an old family legend.

Feeling that he should just remain silent again and let her get everything out that she needed to, he wrapped his arms softly and soothingly around her again, remaining like that as long as he needed to.

Anya - December 1, 2006 07:07 PM (GMT)
Kirana felt Kai's arms around her once more and she felt comforted again. There was just something about him that made her calm. She liked that. She suddenly became embarressed.
Gods, she thought. This is becoming a cycle. She wiped her tears on her dress and looked up to Kai, making sure that she was still in his arms.
"So, I told you most of my past, now you tell me yours. It'll be unfair," she said in a serious voice, but a faint smile appeared on her face, one half was because she wasn't talking about her past, nor thinking about it and wasn't crying. The other half was because of Kai's warm and comforting arms. She always wanted a friend like that and now she had one. This was a beginning of a nice friendship, she added in her thoughts.

kai_fox - December 1, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
"So, I told you most of my past, now you tell me yours. It'll be unfair," Kirana said, wiping her newest tears away on her dress, half smiling. Chuckling softly, Kai nodded, agreeing in his mind that it would only be fair to tell her about his past now that she'd told about hers.

"As for me, I grew up until I was five in Estolad, here in Arda, along with my small family. When I turned five, though, my natural fire abilities came out and I accidentally set fire to a stall. A small thing I'm sure, but there's a legend in my family about a dark fire mage, so I got kicked out of my home because they were afraid I'd end up the same way. A lot of stuff's happened since then, including having and getting rid of a dark half, and now I suppose I'm back home in Arda," Kai said, that basically summing up most of his past up to this point, or at least that of it that actually mattered. He'd never fallen in love or anything, much less had many friends.

Anya - December 2, 2006 06:39 PM (GMT)
Kirana looked at Kai intently as he told his detailed story:
"As for me, I grew up until I was five in Estolad, here in Arda, along with my small family. When I turned five, though, my natural fire abilities came out and I accidentally set fire to a stall. A small thing I'm sure, but there's a legend in my family about a dark fire mage, so I got kicked out of my home because they were afraid I'd end up the same way. A lot of stuff's happened since then, including having and getting rid of a dark half, and now I suppose I'm back home in Arda."

Hearing the story did not make her burst into tears again. She found out that she had none. Quietly she took his furry hand held it in hers. It was a sign of reassurance, she hoped. That was what she learned. She swallowed and said, "I found love here in Arda too... He was a lich. But he left on a mission... and I never saw him again. Have you found love here Kai?"

kai_fox - December 2, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
"I found love here in Arda too... He was a lich. But he left on a mission... and I never saw him again. Have you found love here Kai?" Kirana said after taking one of his hands in hers. Fortunately he'd found that it wasn't so hard to tell his story any more, as though all the pain initially related to it had gone away along with all the other weight he used to have on him with his dark half still around.

"Can't say I have, or anywhere for that matter. Still hoping I will sometime, though...I've spent way too much time alone in my life, and it gets pretty tough to deal with," Kai replied, gently closing his fingers over Kirana's hand. She was lucky, in that sense, actually falling in love before, twice even, he thought, while he never had. Love...who knew, maybe he would find it here...but that would probably be hoping too much.

Anya - December 3, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
Kirana heard Kai speak and she felt so guilty for telling him her problem, when he had problems of his own. She wanted to do something, but she felt constricted, like something was holding her back, in some sense. She decided to do something that would be agreed to on both sides of her mind.

She leaned forward and kissed his furry cheek. She felt his hand close over hers. What would happen next, she wondered. This never really happened to her and she felt a bit awkward, almost a bit guilty for her actions. She stood up to hear the sounds of growling behind her.

She turned around and saw two beasts crouching up behind them. She quickly drew her Ice Blade and stood in a ready position. She cast an ice spell to still the other beast while she delt with the other one. It jumped on top of her, it's strength more than what Kirana expected. Her sword lay out of reach and the temperary spell she put on the other beast was wearing off.

Funnily enough, the beast did not attack her, but instead stood protectively over her, growling at Kai. Sweat poured down her face as she thought quickly what to do...

kai_fox - December 4, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
Blinking in surprise as Kirana kissed his cheek, Kai blushed noticeably through his blue fur, glancing over to her as she stood up. Sniffing around for a moment, he noticed something else around that wasn't here before, and got up as well, turning around quickly as Kirana attacked one of the beasts nearby. Its companion now frozen, the other beast pounced atop Kirana, doing something strange. Instead of attacking further, it stood over her protectively, growling at him.

"Please get off her," he said calmly. "I'm not going to hurt either her or you, regardless of the fact that I'm a fox." But regardless, a fox he indeed was, and would use the cunning of one if the situation called for it, which it seemed now like it might.

Anya - December 4, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)
Kirana held her breath as Kai talked to the beasts calmly. She hoped it would it would help, because if it didn't, she would be beast-meat!!!
After a while, the beast turned around and padded back to it's mate, and licked it until it was moving. Kirana's eyes softened as she watched the mates and her thoughts wandered a bit onto Ronnoh.

After a while, she realised the beasts were gone. Kirana rose quickly and ran to Kai, hugging him. "I don't know how to repay you!" she cried. "I thought that I would be dead as it jumped on me..."
She stilled, comforted in Kai's warm embrace once more. She was getting to like this better and better!

kai_fox - December 4, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
Watching the beast for a few moments, he sighed in relief as it simply walked off over to its companion, licking it until it became mobile again and then wandering off along with it. Definitely easier than he figured it might be, but then that was all the better.

"I don't know how to repay you!" Kirana cried, rising up quickly now that the beasts were gone and hugging him once more. "I thought that I would be dead as it jumped on me..."

"Well, don't worry about repaying me or anything, I'm just glad things turned out just fine like that," Kai said, blushing slightly again and returning the embrace, though this time the blush was hardly noticeable, recalling her kissing him on the cheek earlier. They really were becoming close, it seemed...

Anya - December 5, 2006 08:16 AM (GMT)
Kirana looked up at Kai as he said that she must not worry. She looked deeper into his eyes. There she found that something was missing in his life. Something important, like a need for something, but she couldn't place it. She took his hand once more and said, "Let's walk."

She walked along the beach with Kai at her side and said, "There's something missing in your life. Please tell me what it is. I could help you." She thought that if she could help him with something important, that her guilt would be fulfilled. She wanted to pay him back some way so the shadow wouldn't hover over her like the Grim Reaper. She bit her lip as a stong breeze blew over and some of her jet black hair into youthful face.

kai_fox - December 6, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
"Let's walk," Kirana said, after looking into Kai's eyes for a moment, as if searching for something there; something that he figured probably wasn't there, given his nearly empty life since childhood.

"There's something missing in your life. Please tell me what it is. I could help you," she said as they walked along the oceanside beach opposite the mainland on the island moments later, and Kai looked down and to the opposite side of her nervously.

"I suppose I have a decent life, just...unlike basically everyone I know, I've never had anyone to share it with. Few friends, no family...nobody important to me..." he said. Until now, perhaps...he wasn't sure, but there was just something about her that he enjoyed, and he wanted to stay with her longer. Not that he'd probably be able to say any of that...

Anya - December 8, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
Kirana bit her lip and looked at Kai. His blue fur rustled in the stong breeze and more strands of hair blew in her face. She did not bother with it, because she was thinking how hard Kai's must have been. She looked wistfully at him, her hands in knots. She wanted to ask him something, but she couldn't get it off her chest. Not just yet.

"You know, Kai. I thought I had problems, but now I realise that you have went through so much more than what I have. You put up a brave face through the whole fight," she said softly. She squeezed his hand and gave a swift kiss on his cheek once more. "How do you do it?"

kai_fox - December 11, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
"You know, Kai. I thought I had problems, but now I realize that you have went through so much more than what I have. You put up a brave face through the whole fight," Kirana said in a soft voice, squeezing his hand and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, causing him to blush slightly once more. "How do you do it?"

"I'm not really sure..." he said somewhat thoughtfully, gently closing his fingers around her hand. "I suppose...just with the hope that things will improve, that I'll eventually find something special to me. That I'll actually find some place in this world...maybe even with you..." he said, glancing away nervously and blushing a bit more. He wasn't quite sure how that had come out, but it had, and in all truth he meant it. Now it was just down to how she'd react...

Anya - December 12, 2006 04:03 PM (GMT)
"I'm not really sure..." said Kai to her. He closed his fingers around her hand. "I suppose...just with the hope that things will improve, that I'll eventually find something special to me. That I'll actually find some place in this world...maybe even with you..."

Kirana blinked in surprise and smiled. She found she could not say anything, for this was one of those moments where talking was not an option of communicaion. She looked up at Kai and held his face in her hand. She looked at him, deep in his eyes, waiting for him to make the next move.

The weather was just right although the ocean breeze became stronger and her black hair became a wave around her face, bringing out her pure silver eyes. The sun was setting to the right of them and the ocean's tide whispering in her ear as she focused only on Kai...

kai_fox - December 12, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
Blushing and looking to Kirana as she gently redirected his face with her free hand to face hers, he heard and felt the ocean breeze get slightly stronger, blowing lightly through his fur and causing Kirana's hair to wave around her face and out to the side, almost seeming to accentuate her pure silver eyes, ordinarily a strange color, no doubt, though she was at least part dragon. At a time like this, it was like instinctual knowledge that nothing could be said, only done, or things could break down around them.

A positive reaction he was indeed getting, he realized out of the corner of his mind, but that was hardly a concern of his right now, only the person standing in front of him, with her hand rested on his furry face. Acting on the faint instinct that seemed to be coming up, and what he in all truth wanted to do, he moved slightly closer to her, meeting his lips with hers and closing his eyes during this kiss, his first ever in his eighteen years of life, simply enjoying the moment.

Anya - December 14, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Kirana felt Kai's lips meet hers in a exquisite kiss. She threw her arms around his neckto steady herself for a wierd wobbly sensation that she never felt before had just entered her knees. She closed her eyes to enjoy the moment...

It was perfect. The calm oceanic noise had filled her ears and the breeze was all around them. Spray had erputed around them and Kirana could feel a few cold drops on her face. She had never experienced such a moment in her life before. Not even with Ronnoh. It was like she was in a dream...

She experienced such emotions inthe kiss, making her knees feel like jelly, and butterflies play in her stomach. They welled inside her, willing to burst under such immense pressure... She put them to rest, for now. She did not want to get herself involved too much...yet.

kai_fox - December 15, 2006 04:15 PM (GMT)
How long the kiss lasted he wasn't sure, from the point that Kirana put her arms around his neck, almost seeming to support herself on him, and he put his arms lightly around her, his tail moving partly on its own and wrapping itself around her waist as well. He could hardly notice anything while it was still going, though, neither the sound of the waves or the smell of the breeze coming in from the ocean. Maybe this was what it was like to be in love...he wasn't quite sure yet.

But eventually the kiss did indeed end, not that Kai particularly wanted it to, leaving him standing there with her and not quite sure what to do. He wanted to say something, but there still didn't seem any words to be said, no matter how hard he tried to think of any.

Anya - December 19, 2006 07:41 AM (GMT)
Kirana felt his secure hands around her and something that felt like a tail wrap around her waist, drawing her closer to him. But romantic as it was, the kiss ended and Kirana looked up to Kai, her deep silver eyes flashing in the last light. Her face was so close to his, she could feel his breath upon her face.

She wanted to say something about it, but she found that she could get the words and kept silent. She rested her head against his chest, moving up and down softly with his steady breath. The oceanic breeze then became cold, but she only just felt it as his warm embrace protected her from such coldness, shutting the world outside and only letting love in.

She looked up to him once more and eventually said, "We should revive the fire, Kai. It's getting dark." With a small kiss on is warm, supple lips, she took his hand and led him back to the place where they first met...

kai_fox - December 19, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
Kai smiled pleasantly as Kirana looked up to him, meeting his green eyes with her silver. Of all the places and times for something like this to happen, it seemed strange to him that it apparently waited until he was in this obscure place, watching a dragon fly by as he sat by his self-made fire.

It didn't seem that she had any words to say at the moment, either, instead resting her head lightly against his chest. It was definitely getting darker, and a bit colder, but he hardly noticed, in part because he was with her, and in part because he could easily control his own body heat, and could see well enough in the dark, thus hardly affected by cold or nightfall.

"We should revive the fire, Kai. It's getting dark," Kirana eventually said, lifting her head off his chest and looking back up to him, once more meeting their eyes together. After a small kiss from her to his lips, Kai nodded, and closed his fingers gently around her hand as she took his, following her back to where the fire was quickly dying down, no longer fed by his own power, the place where all this had started earlier on. As if in response to his presence in the area, the fire immediately gathered once more in strength, burning warmly through the night air brought in by the ocean.

Anya - December 20, 2006 07:31 AM (GMT)
Kirana sat by the fire and pulled Kai gently down to sit with her. She watched fire with glass eyes as it built up to become what it was like before. She stroked Kai's arm gently and then layed her head on his shoulder. She looked up to see little white, blue and red specks in the sky, twinkling happily about the inky black sky. The stars were coming out.

Kirana had never such a feeling before gathering up inside of her. Perhaps this was love, she thought. But why hadn't this happened before? she asked herself. Why didn't I feel this way around Ronnoh and about the lich named Thorgrim either. She loved them both, or she thought she did.

As confusion whirled around her head, her hand in Kai's hand and her head on his shoulder, she felt almost at ease. She liked the confusion this was causing her, somehow. It added some spice to her thoughts... Am I growing evil? she thought to herself. Almost immediately, she pushed the thought away and quickly looked up at Kai, hoping to meet his eyes...

To get lost in them...

kai_fox - December 20, 2006 06:23 PM (GMT)
Kai sat down by Kirana as she half-pulled him into doing so, his hand still in hers, and wrapped his tail contentedly around her once more. As she stroked his arm gently, then resting her head lightly against his shoulder, he blushed slightly, hardly noticeable beneath his blue fur, gazing up to the stars lighting the sky while the fire lit the ground around them. If this day never stopped, that would be fine with him. After all, his past had essentially been left behind him with the destruction of his dark half, and now the future was being pulled wide open, inviting him forward as he'd never felt before.

Then he noticed Kirana's eyes directed toward him, pulling him out of his thoughts of what may be to come. Whatever it may be, he was confident enough that it would be good, and hopefully involve her. Kissing her softly on the lips and meeting their eyes together once more, smiling gently at her, he felt he should probably convey at least part of his thoughts, in the best way he could currently think of to.

"I love you, Kirana," he simply said, wishing to see how she'd react.

Anya - December 22, 2006 09:05 AM (GMT)
Kai turned to face the young woman, kissed her softly on the lips and returned the gaze that was Kirana. She felt so comfortable in his gaze and so safe, so that nothing could touch her. She felt like they were the only two people in the world, by the only fire, by the only island... by the only ocean whose tides swished in and out, like the queens dancers.... Silent.

"I love you, Kirana," said Kai simply. Kirana smiled faintly and remembered when last she heard those words.
Ten years ago, when she was still a teenager: young and innocent... until she met Ronnoh. It was like love at first fight. She remembered it well. She was walking down a deserted street, when, out of nowhere, a boy about the same age as Kirana, bumped right into her. Kirana was very angry since she had had an argument beforehand with her parents, and started punching the boy. Eventually, he punched back, rather hard, and knocked her off her feet. The boy helped her up and noticed how sorry he was. The first words to her were: 'I love you, Kirana'...

She turned her body towards the blue fox-boy and replied, "I love you too, Kai." She words where strange to her and she said it again, "I love you." She kissed Kai on the cheek and laid her head on his shoulder, looking at the twinkling stars up above and wondered if her mother and father were up there, guiding her through the treturous journey that was life.

"I love you too, Kai," Kirana replied. "I love you," she repeated, likely for a reason of her own, perhaps pertaining to the two loves that she'd in the past lost. The slightest circumstance of both he didn't know, nor did he care to know. It was none of his business, after all, and wouldn't do well to be brought up. Then she kissed Kai once more, resting her head back on his shoulder, his tail still wrapped lightly around her waist.

"Suppose that's a relief..." Kai said quietly, staring up at the moon lighting the night with its soft glow, feeling a lot more in tune with that than he ever did with the stars. He never really understood it, but it was said that all canines had some connection with the moon, and as such he'd always felt comfortable under it. Not as much so as he did now, of course, sitting with the one he'd fallen in love with and who returned his feelings, smiling contentedly up at the giant white orb in the sky.

What lied behind him was now completely gone, washed away by the tides of time and his own actions. Who was to say what more would lie ahead now, now that he had someone he truly cared about.

"Suppose that's a relief..." said Kai. His tail wrapped around Kirana's waist as they looked to the bright moon, a connection to Kirana's element. But as Kai's words finished, she felt a jolt in her.

"What do you mean it's a relief?" she said quietly. She looked up to him, holding a faint smile on her lips. "Were you scared that I wouldn't love you, despite my past two loves that I have had?" She uttered the sentence so softly, that it could hardly be heard over the crash of the waves. She blinked innocently as her eyes shone from the reflection from the stars, making the constellations shine in her eyes.

It was a first thing that happened to her, she had never felt this before. A warm feeling was rising up in her. A feeling that felt as if everything was going to be okay, despite all the troubles that surrounded her.

"What do you mean it's a relief?" Kirana said quietly, and Kai noticed her look up to him, what seemed to be a faint smile on her lips. "Were you scared that I wouldn't love you, despite my past two loves that I have had?"

"It's not that, just...I'm relieved that I finally have someone I care about, and who cares about me. That I'm no longer alone, that I can finally move forward in my life with you here and with my old dark half no longer in existence..." he said quietly, though still loud enough for her to hear it well enough. And as normal, he was honest with what he said concerning matters of his heart, of his feelings. He didn't often tell people about them, but he never lied about them. 'To be honest with yourself, you must be honest with others'...that was what he'd been taught years ago, by the person that had taken him in for a short time after the incident where Darkfire had come to be.

Mind if I join?

Though it seemed to be getting late this was when Kazul perfered to be out and flying. Most people wouldn't be able to spot a dark colored dragon at night and he felt much safer at night. Soaring over the ocean with the sent of the sea air all around Kazul felt as if he could fly around forever just taking it all in. But then there were things even better then flying, thinking that she tucked his wings in and dove straight at the water. With a large splash Kazul dived deep under the ocean. A few moments later Kazul arose to the surface and looked around. All that could be seen was his head and part of his neck. He could see the darkened shore off in the distance but he wasn't too far out to not see a few people on the beach. Though they most likely didden't see anything they were bound to here the splash. Turning over onto his back he continued to float along the ocean forgetting everything expect the water. He was just nodding off when he saw a strange light off in the distance. Rolling over again Kazul tried to focus on it. It seemed to be a small campfire on an small island near the mainland. From where he was he could she a few figures but he wasn't too sure about them. Wanting to get a closer look Kazul began to swim toward the small island. Along the way he began to notice other small things. There was only a few plam trees but it was enough to block off his vision of some of the island. Reaching the island he decided to make a quick lap around it to see how many were there or if he could make out any of them. From his lap he could only spot two figures from here. He was about to leave but his curiosity got the better of him. Steping out of the water Kazul slowly approached the campfire, his eyes darting around for the slightest movement. The strangers he had seen were still there. Slowly he stepped into the light of the fire so he would be seen. He hoped that a dragon suddenly showing up would not frighten them but he couldn't help looking around. Even though he was ready to take off at the moment things got out of hand.

"It's not that, just...I'm relieved that I finally have someone I care about, and who cares about me. That I'm no longer alone, that I can finally move forward in my life with you here and with my old dark half no longer in existence..." said Kai quietly. Kirana smiled and curled up in his arms, happy that she now found someone new to spend her life with.

Suddenly, there was a splash. Although it was far away, Kirana could still hear a body splash into the dark ocean that streched majestically around them. She saw a body, in a very familiar shape, moved slowly in the oily black ocean towards them, eyes flashing. Kirana instantly knew it was a dragon. She learn't that dragons could tell each other apart by just looking in their eyes. Kirana saw a faint glimmer and knew.

Slowly, it stepped from the surf into the firelight. Kirana raised her head and smiled. Indeed it was a dragon. It was a long time since she bumped into one of her own kind and before she wondered if she was the only one. She stood corrected.
She untangled herself from Kai's arms and tail and stood up, giving the stranger dragon a greeting of friendship. She stood still on one spot, staring into the distance...concentrating. A long blue tail grew out of her vertabrae and felt it's way to the dragon.

"Hello."

His ears perking up as they caught a sound nearby, Kai tilted his head in the direction he seemed to have heard it from, sniffing the air a bit to try and get a feel for what it was before he actually saw it. A dragon...interesting that one would show up here after they'd already been here so long. Maybe a friend of Kirana's? He couldn't be sure.

Getting up as Kirana got up, he slipped his hands casually into his pockets out of a habit of his, watching as the dragon appeared from near the water through the trees. Noting Kirana greet the creature, he stood there somewhat awkwardly, not entirely sure what to do himself, given that now he was the one creature here of the three nearby that didn't have dragon blood.
