Title: Relaxing by the waves

Talen - July 3, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
It had certainly been a long day thus far...though mainly because he'd spent most of it sitting back on the beach, letting the waves wash over his feet, and simply enjoying the peaceful scenery, for he didn't know how long now. It was about noon at the moment, and he'd gotten there shortly after dawn, so it certainly had been a while...but he had plenty of past memories to run through as he simply sat there. Of course, he didn't have much in terms of memories of Arda, this new land he'd arrived at, but they'd come in time...best just to take it easy and not go off looking for something to happen, since it usually didn't if you were looking.

(eh...short...not always good at starting posts x.x )

Malefor - July 4, 2006 11:19 AM (GMT)
(mind if I join?)

Making his way, the wanderer reached a pleasant scene. The calming waves brushed against the sand, the deeper shade forming a curve of unique designs. The noonday sun shone high above, bright sparkles on the ocean beyond. The horizon looks endlessly clear, the skies and the ground meeting at the end. The scene brought good memories to the wanderer, his tragic past forgotten for the moment. This scene was perfect for relaxing, and Malefor made haste to settle for the day.

Making weird gestures, he dismissed his familiar into the distance. The hydra he had come to accompany him was obedient and silent, and always "stood" by his side. Even when it towered over him, with each head as big as his body or so he assumed, the giant seemed docile when around the demon. He dismissed the hydra, as he had nothing with him to satisfy the creature's needs. He only carried his weapons and his clothing, and his living he took from the lands he traveled in.

He wandered the shoreline for a while, feeling the soft earth make imprints of his feet on the ground. The trail followed the demon, as he searched for anything to serve as nutrition for him. He had only begun to try to live off the land, but most of the time it was always picking random fruit and bread from the market. Being in the wild was strange for him, and he searched around, looking for fruits and animals that could be serve as his meal for the day.

Talen - July 4, 2006 04:10 PM (GMT)
(no prob, Sanzen, even if it is your evil chara <.<; )

With his ears perking up slightly, and his nose catching the scent of someone down the beach, as well as a Hydra around the edge of the area it seemed like, Talen looked over, then bent his knees, lifting his upper body up, before springing up and slightly forward, landing easily on his feet, wishing to see whoever this person was, which didn't take long to do.

Whoever the man he spotted down the beach was, he seemed human on the outside, but judging by his overall appearance, not to mention his scent, he clearly wasn't. What exactly he was, Talen wasn't sure, but he was already here, so there didn't seem much sense in just ignoring the man.

"Hey...you looking for something, or just wandering around?" he asked, noticing certain things about the man's demeanor that might be read as him looking for something in particular...or perhaps just looking.

Jen Cerolinia - July 6, 2006 02:34 PM (GMT)
(OOC:Mind if I join as well?)

Jen strolled down the beach and looked at the waves as she walked by. Nothing in her life was evil this peaceful. She wandered why she was even looking at the waves anyway. She was supposed to be looking for a place to stay...but where was a vampire going to stay? Everyone judged her no matter where she went. Even her friends all but Zelris and Spyro. Zelris and Spyro were probably the only friends that she would have that would not leave her and she had met a half-cat person before who seemed really nice. Jen shook her head, thinking of her friends was going to get her no where.

Jen kept on walking until she saw two people who were staring at each other. One she knew as Talen. The nice gentle person who she had met at the grasslands before when she and Zelris were there traveling. Jen walked up to him and smiled. "Hey, how are you Talen? Nice to see you again. I was just walking by this beach...its been a while since I was last here."

Jen turned to the other person who she sensed as a demon. These days all Jen ever met was one demon after another, each one as mean and uncaring as the last. She didnt know if he was nice or not...but everyone deserves a chance. No need to judge someone for no reason at all. "Hello." Jen smiled at the demon. "Who are you? My name is Jen. Im a vampire." Jen could sense that he was searching for something. "what are looking for sir?" She asked and waited to see if he would answer.

Malefor - July 6, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
Even in places like this people would still be found. It was not frustrating to have strangers encountered, but in times like this Malefor only wanted solace and peace. Though he wanted to be left alone, he had to be accustomed to human company now that he is in the physical form of a human. Passing as a human in this world seems an easy task, but for one who came from elsewhere it feels like learning to walk again. Malefor turned to see the figure who was addressing him.

"Hey...you looking for something, or just wandering around?" the man asked, his view gauging the form of the demon. This man had blue hair, and had cat-like features coated with blue fur. He was a unique specimen, one that is highly valued in the market. Though the opportunity of money was tempting, it was not particularly fit for the demon's taste, and eventually he decided to entertain the man's question. Gazing into the man's eyes he prepared to respond in a casual tone.

Just as he was about to utter the first word, another figure appeared in the scene. The woman approached the man at first, then addressed him. By the looks of things they seem to know each other, though their relation was of no concern to him. The woman then moved on to Malefor then talked to him as well. She began by giving a simple "Hello." With a smile on her face, she continued, Who are you? My name is Jen. Im a vampire. what are looking for sir?"

The woman's words seem to give a little shock in the demon. Openly revealing one's identity shows a fearless character, or an innocent one. Not bothering to look at her, he continued to respond, but this time he addressed both their questions. Still looking into the man's eyes, he spoke. "I am searching for food on this side, until you interrupted me..." he paused, raising an eyebrow as if to show suspicion. "What I look for is probably not your concern, yet you make it yours. What brings you two here?" Without bothering to wait for a reply, he continued to speak, this time looking at the woman.

"As for my name, I don't really need to tell you that, seeing as I don't know you at all, even though you told me yours. These formalities you humans have are trivial, and I find no point in responding in kind. Now, what brings you two souls here?" This time he would wait for either reply, as to finish it quickly so he could go back to his own work.

Jen Cerolinia - July 6, 2006 04:25 PM (GMT)
"Yep." Jen replied. "Thats exactly what I thought. Fine I wont help you. I mean my god I was just asking. Demons are such jerks. Always thinking they dont need help. I was just trying to be kind and nice." Jen added irritated. "And as for me being here that is also none of your concern then now is it? i think not. Now fall back to the shadows or...where ever you came from. I was just asking and being polite but I guess being polite to a demon is pointless. All you demons are the same. I dont mean any harm."

Jen looked at Talen and walked over to him. She was alittle mad about how the demon responded. She didnt mean any harm all she wanted to know was what he was doing my goodness. "Come Talen." Jen said coldly.
"He odvisously doesnt want us around, we're interupting him so let us leave. You just cant be nice to some people." Then she added sadly. "Why do people always judge me? i dont do anything! I just say a few words and their like get away from me but I believe in being honest soooo.....Talen...come on...we should go."

Jen was saddened by his reply but she turned around to Talen to see what he would say.

Talen - July 6, 2006 06:24 PM (GMT)
Looking over in slight surprise, not really having noticed her before, Talen looked over to spot Jen, a vampire he'd met in the grasslands a few days previously, who spoke out apparently just before the man had a chance to, asking him what he was looking for before he'd even answered the question of if he even was looking for something.

As the man responded, though, he seemed rather...annoyed, and refused to give his name. Then he asked what he and Jen were doing there, and Talen scratched the back of his head after he was about to respond, Jen responding herself in an irritated tone. Apparently he could deal with this man easily enough, but she didn't particularly seem to want to...he just hoped that there wasn't any trouble started here or anything. But then Jen turned to him, secretly giving him some hope that there wouldn't be, at least unless the man reacted badly, which he'd do something about if the need arose. He didn't like fighting, being more of a healer, but he could fight quite well when he had to.

"Come Talen," Jen said coldly. "He obviously doesn't want us around, we're interrupting him so let us leave. You just can't be nice to some people," she continued, then added sadly, "Why do people always judge me? I don't do anything! I just say a few words and they're like get away from me but I believe in being honest soooo.....Talen...come on...we should go."

Shrugging to himself, and glancing over to the man slightly nervously, though also knowing that he wouldn't have the slightest problem with them leaving him, he nodded to Jen, looking back to her. "Yeah, probably...he obviously doesn't want anyone around, so we should probably leave him be," he said, walking over to her.

Malefor - July 9, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
Though he may have been blunt and abrasive, it was usually because of inexperience with the human populace that brought it upon him. His early experiences never granted him some knowledge of humans, or in dealing with them. Upon hearing what he had to say the girl responded, Yep. Thats exactly what I thought. Fine I wont help you. I mean my god I was just asking. Demons are such jerks. Always thinking they dont need help. I was just trying to be kind and nice. And as for me being here that is also none of your concern then now is it? i think not. Now fall back to the shadows or...where ever you came from. I was just asking and being polite but I guess being polite to a demon is pointless. All you demons are the same. I dont mean any harm."

Ignoring anything else she probably had to say, Malefor replied, trying to defend himself. With a voice of moderate tone, he called out to the vampire who was turning away, "For a friendly person you're one who is quick to judge. Is this the kindness and courtesy humans had to offer? I'd rather spend my days being hunted by my kind than put up with insults like this. I had hoped for a more... reasonable person to talk to but I guess I put too much trust in humans."

With a small sigh, he turned his back as well. His earlier task was finding game for his meal, and it was rather obvious that with the small crowd he was gathering, it would be futile to hunt in that area. Raising one foot, he placed it closer to the wild area, trying to disturb as little grassy area as possible. He had much to make up for in the time he was talking with the humans, but the only thing he got there was lost hope. That man was probably more of a better conversationalist, but with the woman's suggestion he chose his friends over a complete stranger like Malefor. It was probably a wise choice, but then again who was he to judge these people.

Jen Cerolinia - July 9, 2006 03:57 AM (GMT)
"Good for you...Dolle naa lost."Jen added in Elvish.

Jen started to walk back the way that she had came with her friend and then came to a stop. Jen was a little farther away but not that much farther, she had only turned her back and taken a few steps. She never really trusted demons fully because all the ones she met were mean and uncaring as ever. Although she never did judge people but demons were another story. She couldnt help not hide her feelings. All the demons she met in the past were rude and inconsiderate...she could go on and on. So the vampiress stopped dealing with them or thought she was going to stop dealing with them.

"Its not like I have anything against you...just demons in particular......there is this certain one....i have had trouble with in the past....I just dont know about demons. I havent met a nice one yet...and I dont think I ever will."Jen sighed. "They seem all the same to me...but hey thats just me. Sorry If I offended you or anything but I just cant change how I feel. I didnt mean it...I think I took something you said the wrong way...I dont think I was fully paying attention. Sorry. I have just recently had problems with a demon...I dont mean to take it out on you. I apologize."Jen added with a sigh. "Is it the nature of your kind to be so rude to others? I mean not you particularly...there is this one that I know. Actually a couple of them...but they just seem so rude to me."

Jen stood there and gazed at the water thinking back to that demon who she met long ago. She spoke up again and added this,"I have also been betrayed by a fallen angel. I wander if its normal for them to betray others? I mean they promised me and broke it. Those are just another group of people I wander about as well."

I open my heart to others...but to what? Only to have it smashed on the floor into a million pieces that will never be mended again. My heart is broken into so many pieces its beyond fixing. No one could ever understand my pain......maybe I should just close my heart...I think its been broken enough. Jen thought looking sadly at the water.

Talen - July 9, 2006 02:41 PM (GMT)
Talen simply stayed silent for the moment as he listened to Jen talk, about demons, about not really liking them much. He'd only really known one actual demon all the time he'd been around, despite that another name for one of the species' he was born from was 'cat demon', despite that they weren't actually a type of demon, simply an anthro.

"Well, I'll admit you can't always trust everyone..." he finally said after she seemed to be done for the moment. "But I've learned better than I'd ever wanted to that there's a certain potential for both good and evil in everyone, even in the purest of hearts or darkest of souls..." he continued, looking to the ground sadly. "I should know...I like to think I'm a pure heart myself, but I did turn to the darkness for a time before...then another person I knew once, who lived in the darkness for over a century, turned to the light, though I'm still not sure he actually trusts people much, lest they betray him. I'm sure at least one of you have heard of the name Lance...he certainly gets around a lot, and tends to wear black and keep mostly to himself."

Jen Cerolinia - July 9, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
"Yes...I have heard of Lance." Jen sighed. "A great friend of mine...I met him...by the lake? I think. Yes he seemed nice when I first met him with my other friend Zelris. But when I was with my other friend ITanium he seemed really annoyed to be around ITanium...he seemed mad around him so i didnt bother him. But Lance and I have traveled together a few times. Probably the only nice demon I have ever met. He was also there when I was betrayed by that fallen angel...who broke his promise to me."

If there were one race that Jen didnt trust it was fallen angels. She didnt think she could ever trust any fallen angel ever again. The vampiress sighed again and continued to stare at the water. There was alot on her mind.

Fallen angels...I'd rather trust a demon or a dragon. If there is one race I cannot stand its fallen angels! To close my heart or to leave it open...what to do.....i will have to think about this more...

Talen - July 10, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
Talen chuckled softly to himself at hearing her words. Well, it didn't seem like he was the demon that she'd had trouble with, but with him, there was no telling, really. Always unpredictable, always seclusive with whatever was on his mind...Lance certainly was a mystery in itself, but still a good person, or demon, at heart.

"Well, if he was annoyed to be around that man, it probably just had to do with some of his own feelings...I've rarely heard of him holding anything against anyone; he's definitely a firm believer in giving everyone a chance, though considering the circumstances of his being here, I'm sure nobody can really blame him for that. Doubtless you've heard that he was a demon kicked out of the Underworld for turning away from the darkness, darkness of which I'm sure lots of people expect of him when they realize what he really is..." he said. "Anyway, though...I've had my run-ins with angels before, including a fallen angel, though angels is...kind of a sensitive subject with me, just so you know," he continued, changing the subject partly, and inevitably recalling the short time when he was part angel, which led in part to him turning dark temporarily.

Jen Cerolinia - July 11, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
"yes. Lance told me of his past when i was with Zelris. You think Lance is friendly? I used to think that until he found me and ITanium."Jen said. "But back to when that fallen angel betrayed me...I sometimes wish Lance would have done something about it....like maybe hurt that angel or something. I hated it when that angel called me child. Im seventeen Im not a child."

Jen looked from the water to the sky. "I thought maybe that fallen angel would be about to help me...but he just broke a promise. When I tried to go back to my house and take revenge on my father...he left. I sang a song 'Good-bye's the Saddest Word and that fallen angel left me standing there with Khan the ogre and Lance. Which i lost faith in all angels since then...and my heart was broken yet again. I cant remember how many times it was shattered...Talen...your lucky. I doesnt seem to me that you bare anyone any kind of grudge. I envy you for that. I just have something against angels."

The vampiress then turned her gaze back to the water.

Talen - July 11, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
"Yes. Lance told me of his past when I was with Zelris. You think Lance is friendly? I used to think that until he found me and ITanium," Jen said. "But back to when that fallen angel betrayed me...I sometimes wish Lance would have done something about it....like maybe hurt that angel or something. I hated it when that angel called me child. Im seventeen Im not a child."

Well, from what he could tell, then, Lance had changed, to an extent...hiding what was inside him probably even more than he had back when he'd known him. He probably couldn't entirely be blamed for that, though...after all, he had had a group of powerful demons after him...maybe they still were, and he didn't want anyone else around him that could get hurt.

I cant remember how many times it was shattered...Talen...you're lucky. It doesn't seem to me that you bare anyone any kind of grudge. I envy you for that. I just have something against angels," Jen then continued.

"Well, no, I don't tend to hold anything against anyone, quite honestly...but...I suppose I probably should clear up some things about Lance for you before you meet him again, which I get the feeling you will. He'll probably hate people knowing this about him, but it seems like you probably deserve to know. Quite simply, over a year ago he'd been being hunted by the demons that were formerly his allies back in the underworld before he turned to the light, so he probably doesn't want too many people around him to potentially get hurt in the middle of one of his fights. He just...doesn't know very well how to react to others most of the time, though if he actually told you about his past, he probably does genuinely like you as a friend," Talen said, hoping to clear a few things up between those two.

Jen Cerolinia - July 11, 2006 05:49 PM (GMT)
"Talen, I dont hate Lance or have anything against him either." Jen said getting the impression that he thought that did not like Lance which was not true. The vampiress was good at telling what people thought since she had the ability of Sense Motive. "Its just that he kinda scared me when I was with ITanium. i mean literally." Jen said turning to Talen. "I did not know the other bit of information about my friend. Thank you Talen. But reveal no more. Im sure if there was something that needed to be said he would tell me."

Jen stood there still waiting to hear more of what Talen had to say. "I'll just say that I do not think much of fallen angels or other demons." She just stood there thinking of what to do next. This was getting her nowhere.

What to do now? i should be on my way soon...wait...what is that I see far off in the distance?! What is that?!

"Talen..." Jen said looking at the dark figure approaching them from afar. She drew her bow and knocked an arrow. "...Talen..." Jen gave Talen a warning glance and stared at the figure approaching from afar.

Talen - July 12, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Talen nodded, knowing very well what she meant when she was afraid of him. He was usually pretty peaceful, but...well, when he got serious, it wasn't the best thing to be against him.

Noticing where she was looking as she then said his name, though, he turned slightly, looking over in that direction and narrowing his eyes slightly, focusing his vision in that direction, his eyes becoming somewhat more cat-like as he did so. There was definitely someone over there, and from what he could tell they were armed, meaning they were some kind of threat. Well, Jen had said something about taking revenge on her father...from the looks of it, this might very well be the result of part of that.

"Looks like we've got a bit of trouble...nothing we can't handle, I'm sure," he said, extending his natural claws from each of his furred hands. Really, this was about the last thing he needed right now...but it had been a while since he'd been in a fight, so it could be kind of fun.

Jen Cerolinia - July 12, 2006 04:35 PM (GMT)
Jen nodded and looked forward at the figure. It looked human at first Jen thought but then the figure grew larger and wings spread from its back. Then she saw it...it was now a dragon. It must have changed into a human in order to try to sneek up on them. Jen didnt by it though and readied her bow. The dragon flew closer to them and she fired and arrow at it. She hit it in the wing.

"Talen...its a dragon! Be careful."
Jen said firing two arrows at it this time. "This could be a long fight."

She looked up and the two arrows she fired pierced its chest but it still kept on coming at them. Jen braced herself for the oncoming attack. The dragon flew over her and directly toward Talen. The vampiress then shot to more arrows at the dragon which caused it to rear back in pain...but it ignored her arrows and flew at her friend.

"Watch yourself Talen!" Jen called and began shooting more arrows at it.

This was just great...I dont need this! Jen thought firing more arrows. Did someone's pet get loose or what? wait it was human before...what the heck is going on? Why does it want to fight us?

Talen - July 13, 2006 04:34 PM (GMT)
A...dragon? Well, he thought he'd seen something else...maybe he was just misjudging what he saw, or it was an illusion, or something. This could be more difficult than he thought...and despite the arrows, it just kept coming, seemingly at him.

Then as it flew over Jen, still mostly ignoring the arrows, he knew that it indeed was coming after him. Well, he'd already said he didn't much like fighting, and he wasn't completely sure what this dragon was after yet, much less why it was coming after him. Either it knew he was a healer or kind soul...or it determined by his appearance that he was an animal, and thus food.

"Stop firing!" Talen shouted, and crouched down, jumping high and spinning rapidly in the air so that he landed on the creatures neck. Well, there was one good way to tell what it wanted from him, and that was to watch how it reacted to him being on it like this...if it calmed down, then he'd heal it, but if it still lashed out, then it was unfortunately an enemy, and might have to be killed.

Jen Cerolinia - July 14, 2006 01:35 AM (GMT)
She heard him shout stop firing and she looked up. Jen saw him jump on the dragon's neck and she cursed. That was a dragon what the heck was he doing? The dragon lashed out and she could see him trying to hang on.
Either way Jen was bringing this dragon down one way or another. If there was blood she was going to take it. The vampiress fired another arrow at the dragon's neck. It pierced his neck and she looked to see if Talen was still on. He was so she fired another arrow. This on peirced it's right wing which it turned around and looked at Jen angrily. This was goin to be a long fight but she had to bring it down. Jen shot another arrow and it struck its right eye. The dragon roared and began to charge at Jen who was prepared for the on coming onslaught of claw attacks. She slid out of the way and stood up and fired another arrrow. Jen said nothing just kept on firing at the dragon hoping to kill it.

Talen - July 14, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
As the dragon continued to lash out furiously, Talen could see that it indeed was a threat. Well, it had been worth a try to see if it was good, at least...he wouldn't have had a good time of things if it turned out that it was good and it was still killed.

Seeing that Jen was still firing at it despite what he said, he shrugged to himself and stood up uneasily, then jumped back and did a quick spin in the air, running a clawed hand through one of the dragons wings and giving it a large tear, causing it to rear its head and screech loudly in pain.

(bah...short...)

Lance - July 19, 2006 08:50 PM (GMT)
Quite done with simply watching and listening from the shadows, the black-cloaked figure rushed out from behind one of the nearby trees rapidly, blade glinting in the sunlight, held in his left hand down to his side. Making each movement swift and accurate, he reversed his blade in his hand, so that the blade was pointing out behind his fist, and pushed himself off on his right foot, essentially doing a long side-step right in front of the dragon and swinging his left arm back, striking through its hide and straight into its heart, which was closer to the center than where human's hearts normally were.

"Hate to butt in or anything, but I was getting kind of tired of watching," the one-eyed figure said, taking a few steps away from the dragon as its head fell lifeless to the ground, its neck first slamming into the ground just about where he was standing. He then slipped the lower-right part of his cloak back and slid his katana back into its sheath, re-covering it once that was done. "Heard the two of you talking about me, and I can't say I entirely appreciate those things being said without my apparent knowledge or consent...but I suppose people probably deserve to know. Maybe it can help take me out of my own darkness..." he said, glancing over to Talen and Jen in turn, two people who he could consider well enough to be his friends, though he hadn't seen Talen since Everbane.

Jen Cerolinia - July 19, 2006 09:31 PM (GMT)
Jen turned around and saw her friend Lance approach them. "hey Lance." Jen smiled. "Yeah. Everyone needs friends."

She then turned back to the dragon and saw it rear back. That was her chance. She shot an arrow and it hit the creature between the eyes. It blinked for a moment suspended in the air then started to fly away. Apparently the arrow didnt go in deep enough. Jen then turned back to Lance.

"Well." Jen said putting away her bow. "That was stupid. Dragons go figure. I dont think it will come near us again. Hahaha. Well what brings you here Lance?"

Jen looked at her friend and waited for him to anwser.

Talen - July 20, 2006 01:30 PM (GMT)
(eh...lance had already killed the dragon...but whatever *shrug* )

Looking over in surprise, Talen spotted a black-cloaked figure rush out from behind a tree nearby, and slay the dragon with a stab straight through the heart with surprising ease. The katana, the cloak, the overall somewhat mysterious demeanor...he didn't need the man to speak out before he knew exactly who it was, though he seemed to have lost his right eye since they'd met.

"Heard the two of you talking about me, and I can't say I entirely appreciate those things being said without my apparent knowledge or consent...but I suppose people probably deserve to know. Maybe it can help take me out of my own darkness..." Lance said, looking over to them after resheathing his katana beneath his cloak, and Talen scratched the back of his head nervously, figuring he possibly shouldn't have said so much, though he did notice something different about Lance, apart from the missing eye. His right eye was red now...looked like his demon form had come slightly further to the surface, through his human guise.

"Well. That was stupid. Dragons go figure. I dont think it will come near us again. Hahaha. Well what brings you here Lance?" Jen asked, putting away her bow and looking to Lance, and Talen did the same, wondering the same thing...it certainly would be a strange coincidence if he simply happened to be here at this time.

Lance - July 21, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
Lance shrugged in partial response to Jen's question, not having too much of a reason for being here. "I was just following that dragon while I was wandering, particularly since I sensed you two around this area. Suppose it might've been good that I did...I'm sure you two could've handled things yourselves, but dragons are sometimes tough to deal with. I'd know, I've had my wings torn up by one before," he said.

(eh...can't think of anything else to post...oh well)

Jen Cerolinia - July 24, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
"Oh, wow." Jen gasped as she heard him say that he had his wings torn up by one. "That must have been really painful and bad. You poor guy."

Jen looked at the sky and waited to see what they would do next.

(OOC: Couldnt think of anything else....-_-)
