Title: Needing some Practice

Arsyln - June 23, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
Musceles tense, Arsyln held her sword b its helt tightly in her hand. Today was like every other day, she was waiting for her services to be called upon to fight. The sun gleamed down upon her, as she swung her sword, practicing her stanses. To her they were imperfect, they were insufficient, she needed work.

The blade she wielded had been with her for over a decade. As old as it was, it had no rust on it whatsoever, she took care of it with pride and joy. It was a gift from her master and she was not going to let it get rusted at all.

One of her soldiers walked up to where she was, and saluted to her. It was one of the swordsmen of her pavilion. A smile appeared on her flawless face as she looked at him with a twinkle in her eyes. He would do for a spar.

"Soldier, unsheath your sword," commanded Arsyln, "Come at me with whatever you got, do not hold back."

"Yes M'lady," said the soldier obeying her command. Instead of one sword the soldier fought with two.

Lunging at her he swung both of his swords at her, Arsyln was barely able to defend herself. Panting she looked at the soldier, and had swung her own sword at him. He had blocked them with his own swords, making an x with them. Next the soldier side stepped and attacked Arysln once more.

Ducking she was able to avoid the two swords that were coming at her. With the pommel of her sword she hit him in the gut, making him go to the ground. Her sword was now pointing at her chest.

"You didn't try," she said angrily sheathing her sword, letting him get up, "No one in my pavilion tries to fight against me. Will anyone fight me seriously?"

Malefor - June 23, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
Resting behind the back of his companion, Malefor gazed at the sun shining over him. The rays shone down on the figure, forcing him to raise his hand above his eyes. A smooth breeze came from the north, a good sign for travelers like him. With multiple growls his hydra moved endlessly forward, each step causing small cracks under the earth. With a small pat on the back Malefor urged it to continue, going to places he did not care where.

It has been sometime since he has traveled in open terrain like this. His last journey of this length was alone, and with his previous appearance. A new man so to speak, he only wished to experience what freedom he has, enjoying every moment of it. Battles and missions were in his past now, all he wants is to be left alone. Though there have been times when he got into fights with both sides of the law, he always took the easy way out, preferring to leave behind all his troubles. Hopefully this day was unlike any other, or so he hoped.

Sounds of steel clashing interrupted his silence, one he did not appreciate much. Standing on his own two feet, he climbed up one of the heads to see what was going on. A single woman was having a battle with another person, and with the way their actions are being executed, the battle was close to an end. Urging his giant forward, he wanted to come closer to the action. The ash hydra increased its pace, abiding by his master's command.

As Malefor was within eyesight of the two, he could see the woman striking a non-lethal blow to her opponent, the poor fool falling on the ground. The woman then uttered something, but at the distande he was in, he could not hear what she said. Not bothering to wait any longer, he jumped down. With speed he rushed towards the woman, eager to find out what was going on. While his giant was trailing behind, he tried to announce himself with a strong voice, "You, what is going on here?" hopefully the woman would respond to his query, though it may have been made with a blunt tone.

Arsyln - June 23, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
With haste she unsheathed her sword and pointed it threatingly glaring at the stranger. Her green eyes glared at his red eyes, she almost dropped her sword in surprise. But she regained from her shock, glaring once more. No way was she going to let her guard down.

"Why are you eavesdropping?" questioned Arsyln not daring to lower her weapon. Then she eyed the katana that he had.

"You care for a sword fight?" questioned Arsynl lowering her sword a little. "I am in the mood for a little fight with someone who is worthy enough for a fight. I am a warlord and I have no worthy foe to fight. You up to it?" she questioned eyeing him carefully.

Malefor - June 23, 2006 04:25 PM (GMT)
His blunt entrance was met with the expected response. The woman had pointed her katana at Malefor, her piercing gaze at him. The reaction was expected, save for her threatening stance. The instant her sword was raised at him the hydra prepared to rush forward, but with a gesture Malefor urged it to calm down. He did not want to ruin a good day with senseless violence, hopefully. Though trying to be as cautious as possible, he held the handle of his halberd, just in case the woman dared to strike first.

The woman asked Malefor, "Why are you eavesdropping?", while not lowering her weapon. It appears that once again he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Without even thinking for a response, the woman continued, "You care for a sword fight? I am in the mood for a little fight with someone who is worthy enough for a fight. I am a warlord and I have no worthy foe to fight. You up to it?"

Apparently his opponent was not one to be messed around easily. A warlord usually has the respect of many warriors, as the title is usually earned through battle. Her eyes and stance reflected experience and determination, and her question showed her outlook towards fighting. She was the kind of person he was before, or maybe still is now. Whatever it was her challenge caught his curiousity, and with this he was not going to back down now.

Trying to be as calm as possible, he replied to her questions. "I was merely passing through when I heard your blade collide with someone else's, and the noise interrupted my rest. As for a sword fight, my blade is old and rusty, as the same with my skills in it. I wield a different weapon now," he paused, using his left hand to take out his halberd. The polearm was nearly as tall as him, but the weight was light for one like himself. Now holding the halberd with both hands, he continued, "If you're still interested, I'm willing to assist in relieving your boredom. But I hope this fight stays clean, as my pet is easily aggravated by threatening moves. Shall we begin?" He held his halberd across his chest, holding the handle tightly trying to cover as much of his general area as possible.
