Title: Relaxing in the woods
Description: Open to anyone
Atmos Lunarus - June 22, 2006 05:25 PM (GMT)
"Aaaaaahhhh..." Atmos sighed, lying in the soft, deep green moss. "This is the life. Just to get away from it all and lay down in this soft moss." Atmos loved the soft, fluffy moss of the above ground. It was much nicer then the rough fungi that grew underground. Atmos sniffed the air. It was fresh, yet damp and cold. This was one of those days that made Atmos feel so glad about escaping the underground. He loved this old wood. So peaceful and... Relaxing. He lyed back and sighed again. "This is the life..." He repeated.

Another forest, finally...and this one actually seemed...well, decent, it could be said. There were of course the misty forest, which was too foggy to see very well, and the rainforest of Taurerosa, but that had much too many bugs, and was too humid and wet, especially for one like him. Now, after travelling the grasslands, he'd arrived at what he'd heard was called Taurai woods, which seemed peaceful enough. Plenty of woodland animals, few bugs, nobody seemingly around...it was the perfect place to make a place for himself to rest from time to time, instead of spending money at inns.
Sniffing around a bit, he looked over slightly to his left in some surprise at what he'd found. A drow, above the surface and in daylight...not the most common of occurences, that was for certain. Shrugging to himself, he figured he'd check it out, so he walked over to where he'd sniffed the person out, slipping his hands in his pockets, his two swords strapped across his back.
"Hey...can't say I've seen much drow on the surface at this time of day. Mind if I ask what brings you around here?" he called out, though not accusingly at all. His voice was fairly peaceful, especially as compared to his appearance, and he didn't judge anyone before he knew them.
Atmos Lunarus - June 22, 2006 05:48 PM (GMT)
When Atmos heard the voice of another he almost jumped up into a sit position. He looked around and spotted a blue foxish animal looking at him. He looked like a strange cross between a fox and a human... And something with blue fur maybe? He looked more like a fox then a man... Or maybe the other way around... Atmos couldn't decide.
"Oh, hello..." Atmos said. "I wasn't expecting to meet anyone here today. I'm Atmos and I ran away from my underground home a few years back. I don't really mind the surface that much."
kai_fox - June 22, 2006 05:53 PM (GMT)
Kai nodded, almost knowing what that felt like. But he'd been kicked out of his home, he hadn't run away...now was no time to go back through his memories, though. He'd changed a lot since then, and had become strong enough to cope.
"Well, my name's Kai, nice to meet you," he said, offering his hand in a friendly gesture, not having initially meant to surprise the drow.
(eh...short...)
Atmos Lunarus - June 22, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
((Oh well, mine are just as short... I'll try to improve))
Atmos shook Kai's hand. "Nice to meet you, my name is Atmos," He said. "So are you some sort of Half-Animal/Half-Human kind of thing or something?" Asked Atmos, curious about his race. He had never seen someone like him in the world of Arda ever before. He had seen Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans, Nimphs and even the undead, but never one of these things.
((Woah, that's short!))
kai_fox - June 22, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
( *shrug* I've had worse around when I was starting out...about five years ago...I really need a life <.< )
"I suppose you could say that," Kai responded as the man shook his hand, slipping it back into his pocket out of habit. "Basically I'm whats called an anthropomorph, anthro for short...basically an animal with a humanoid body. Though even I'll admit that you won't find blue foxes much of anywhere..." he admitted.
Then, feeling that he was getting a little off-track from his purpose for coming here, he looked around the forest nearby, getting a feel for where everything was, and trying to see if there was some sort of clearing or something of the sort around. Those were usually the best places to rest...decently open, with some sunlight if desired, and fewer animals and such around. Of course, there didn't seem to be anything of the like that he could currently see, so he turned his eyes back to Atmos.
Atmos Lunarus - June 22, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
((Acually I've been roleplaying longer then 5 years... Since I was like 9 or something. My posts always start out short but get longer and better as I get further into a topic))
"Anthro? I think I may of heard that word before somewhere, I've never seen one before..." Atmos said. "So... What brings you to the forest?" Atmos asked. He stood up and looked around. It was a nice day but Atmos wasn't really expecting to see anyone today, especially this 'Kai' person, he looked like a strong warrior or something and he didn't really appear to have any business in the forest.
"Are you a warrior or something?" Atmos asked.
((Another short one..))
kai_fox - June 23, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
( *nods* makes sense enough to me)
"Anthro? I think I may of heard that word before somewhere, I've never seen one before..." Atmos said thoughtfully. "So...what brings you to the forest? Are you a warrior or something?" he continued, adding this last part as more of a side question.
"Nothing in particular, just wandering around and ended up here," Kai responded to his first question, shrugging. That was usually the case for the reason behind him being in any particular place at any particular time, at least until he got the hang of the land's overall layout, then occasionally went to certain places. Usually even this was for no apparent reason, though. "And I guess you could say I'm a warrior...suppose considering the guild I belong to, I'd probably be thought of as somewhat of a mercenary, considering that's what the guild's mostly made up of. Mainly, though, I'm just a wandering fire wielder."
Atmos Lunarus - June 23, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm... A guild you say? Interesting... That's like some sort of special organization, right?" Atmos saw the sword on Kai's back and at once believed the bit about being a warrior. "Well, I suppose I'm a bit of a wanderer. No purpose in life but to enjoy it really... I come here often to relaxe. And this little thing here," Atmos tapped his Scimitar, 'Black Moon' as he said this, "Is a little bit of defense. Y'know, in case I get attacked or something," Atmos paused for a second, thinking about whatever this fellow's guild might be about. Finally, he just decided to ask, hoping he wouldn't sound rude or anything. "So, this guild you're in... What's it about?" He asked.
((My best so far in tis topic.. But still rather short.))
kai_fox - June 26, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
Kai nodded in response to Atmos's question, finding it somewhat strange that he didn't seem to know all that much about Guilds. Of course, he himself didn't know all that much about the drow society as a whole, but he was sure that they had some guilds around. He then looked at the man's scimitar as he pointed to it and said its name. He had his own scimitar that he'd bought soon after arriving in this land across his back, with the hilt near his left shoulder, but it was nothing special, just something to tie him over until he retrieved his true sword, which he only had half of; specifically, the infernal sword also across his back, with the hilt nearer his right shoulder.
"I guess for the most part it's a mercenary guild, like I basically said," Kai said, beginning to answer Atmos's question about his Guild. "But really it's a guild of warriors, designed to help each improve and maybe receive mercenary jobs depending on their preferences. It's even got one of the few libraries in Arda. And as for the name, it's called the Syndicate of Blades...you'll probably hear of it at some point, partly as essentially the direct enemy of the sadistic Children of Chaos."
Atmos Lunarus - June 26, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
"Interesting..." Atmos said. He wondered why Kai was even wandering around. "So are you really going anywhere in particular? Or are you just wandering around aimlessly... Like me," Atmos asked.
((In my last post I put 'No Person in life but to enjoy it', That should have said, "No purpose in life but to enjoy it"))
((Incredibly short))
kai_fox - June 26, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
"Well, at the moment I was just gonna get some rest around here now that I ended up here...I usually like resting in forests and such, away from the cities and villages with a bunch of people around. Just a lot more relaxing that way, I guess," he said. "Though later I'll probably head into the city and check up on things, like at the Guild hall...I just hope nothing bad happens this time when I go there, considering it did basically the last two times..."
And as for the last two times, bad was an understatement...first the leader of the Children of Chaos, Tithdaeron had come, and he'd challenged him, only to lose in a way...then Ita, Goddess of Chaos, came, and he'd challenged her as well, though it had been the Syndicate's second in command who defeated her. It was tough being in the guild, especially since it had a direct enemy, but still fun.
Atmos Lunarus - June 26, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
"Okay, me as well, I don't mind the cultures of the aboveground, but I like to get away from it all every once and a while. Forests are my favorite spot for relaxing," said Atmos. He thought about what Kai had said about his guild, The Syndicate of Blades, and their enemy Kai had mentioned, The Children of Chaos.
"So, tell me more about this Children of Chaos guild please..." Atmos said. Suddenly, he realized that he must have sound like he wanted to join or something, so he quickly added, "Not that I'd ever join an evil alligned guild anyways."
Perhaps one day, Atmos might join a guild, but not in the near future.
kai_fox - June 27, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
"Fair enough," Kai responded to Atmos's first statement, about liking to get away from it all, away from the bustle of the cities. "And as for the Children of Chaos...well, can't say I know all that much about them, but for the most part they're sadistic and evil, working on spreading chaos through Arda and eventually taking it over," he continued, saying basically what he knew about that rival guild. "And as for their leader, Tithdaeron...I've faced him once before, and he's about as insane and sadistic as my former dark half, who's now destroyed."
Atmos Lunarus - June 27, 2006 11:58 PM (GMT)
"Dark Half..." Atmos repeted Kai's words. "You have some sort of, dark half? Like an evil spirit or something? That's creepy...." Atmos looked at the friendly mercenary Anthro and shuddered at the thought that someone just as powerful as Kai - But eviler- could have been inside of him. "How did you get rid of this Dark Half?" Atmos asked.
kai_fox - June 30, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
"It's...kind of hard to explain...I used some sort of gem over in the land of the dead, which was apparently held by the person that had originally created Darkfire in me out of all the anger I had back then, for being kicked out of my home and shunned by basically everyone...suppose he'd never been able to use the safeguard way back when I was ten before his creation killed him," he said, not minding telling this little tale any more. After all, he was free, and he was home, in Arda, at long last. In his opinion, things could only get better from here.
Atmos Lunarus - June 30, 2006 09:54 PM (GMT)
"It's...kind of hard to explain...I used some sort of gem over in the land of the dead, which was apparently held by the person that had originally created Darkfire in me out of all the anger I had back then, for being kicked out of my home and shunned by basically everyone...suppose he'd never been able to use the safeguard way back when I was ten before his creation killed him," Kai said. It was a bit of a long story, so Atmos kind of lost interest and zoned out at the word, 'shunned'. Atmos stretched his arms out a bit and almost yawned, when he remembered it was rude to yawn in the cultures of the above.
"Well," Atmos said, tiredly. "I'm going back to the city of Lómëdor. Udos zhal tlu abbilen, Aluve’." As Atmos was walking away, he wondered why he had suddenly started to speak Drowish. He had said that they were friends and 'goodbye' in Drow!
kai_fox - July 1, 2006 04:10 PM (GMT)
Kai nodded, though scratched the back of his head a bit, wondering what that last part he said was. He didn't really speak any other languages than the normal one, mainly because he'd never gotten around to learning them. Nonetheless, he shrugged, slipped his hands in his pockets, and walked off further into the woods, hoping to find some place decent to rest, and maybe make his home, in a fashion.
