Title: Forum Suggestions
Description: any IC forum ideas are welcome

Lothlómendil - June 20, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
I have some plans cooking that will involve adding new forums in the future, and rearranging the current forum set up. What I am interested in from this topic is hearing what kinds of new places you would like to see in Arda. :) If you feel Arda is lacking some kind of geographic location or you have a fun and unique idea, I want to hear it! ^_^ I of course can't accept all ideas given, but I do want to hear everyone's input. :)

I had a topic just like this one about two years ago, if anyone wants to look at it for ideas etc. [link]

And for my own reference, here is one idea already given: [link]

[edit]
This topic has been split, with many ideas having been used or rejected. The split suggestions can be found here.

Ita the Reckless - June 20, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
I'd really like to see more city-style environments in Arda. It's slightly frustrating at how much activity Lomedor has, although that's probably what was intended, but it would still please me for that activity to be dispersed along one or two more "civilized" places. Estolad is too run-down and small, and the Sanctuary of Angels only welcomes good people and not a melting pot of races and alignments as Lomedor does.

Some locations Arda seems to be lacking are snowy forests (I realise the Khelek is snowy, but it's extremely inhospitable while a forest may be able to house sparse civilization and animal life), underground dwarf-style areas, really magnificent places like castles or palaces which could be added along with the future governmental system, etc.

Arda's Ingredients: 20% Civilization, 80% Wilderness. :p

Lothlómendil - June 20, 2006 04:00 AM (GMT)
I agree that more civilization is needed - this can be like a revolution of sorts, a population growth and stuff :) A dark city is a good idea, and another regular large city too. I was considering maybe adding another dwarf place other than Annon-en-Groth Mines. And maybe an elvish city. And other cities for more specific types of peoples. :) A castle or something is interesting, I'm trying to remember what kind of idea came to me the other day, something similar  And also another pub / bar is good, maybe a shady, evilish one.

Other planes will be considered too, though they aren't exactly what I'm looking for at the moment. My focus is on other places actually in Arda, because I have some fun plans :shifty:

Khalida - June 20, 2006 04:54 AM (GMT)
It's late, and my creativity is running wild, though I can't promise it is in the right direction. Given the energy I've put into Khalida, the following idea sort of just began to pop up and grow (possibly like a weed). The basic idea behind it is a city that was destroyed some decades (or even centuries) ago, and has become a place of power at its center, though the edges still give the appearance of an old eerie graveyard and place of the living dead. This could be a place that those aligned with darkness, chaos, war and the likes would be comfortable in, and those of light alignments could launch expeditions to explore and cleanse. The names were sorta grabbed from a quick jumbling of letters and words in my head, so my apologies if they sound super lame.

_____

Kir Merad, the Plagued City

This city was once able to rival Lomendor in all aspects, that was, until the great plague ravaged it. This city is now a place of undeath, shady activities and misery to those who only know of it from faint hearted adventurers. Those who have taken their lives into their own hands and plunged deeper into the heart of Kir Merad tell wild tales of demons, powerful necromancers and other followers of the dark arts. Not many of these adventurers have lived long enough to return to their native cities, and those who have are often taken for being insane as they describe what they witnessed. What once was an academy for some of Arda's finest arcane scholars has now become the home of summoners who have built a gateway to the very plane where the demonic minions they call forth come from.

The Academy of Kir Merad (Sub Forum)

This building once served as a place where scholars of all walks came to study their arts and teach them to those who had talent enough to learn. The plague put an end to this, and now the Academy of Kir Merad is shrouded in darkness. Summoners of demons, Necromancers and others who use wield the magics of darkness now come to commune and grow in strength. It is rumored that the academy is led by a council of sages who once controled the elements and made a pact with demons to survive the plague.

The Chamber of Summoning (Sub Forum)

This room serves as a ritual summoning room, where demons are brought forth to their masters, and great spells of power are cast, as the room seems filled with negative energies that enhance effects. At the center of this large cavern of a room stands an ancient stone archway that now glows a sickly purple-black. This gateway is said to be the entrance to the path which leads straight to the Plane of Demons. Only those who live by the same alignment of the demons will find themselves alive when they reach the other side of the gateway. Those who are false in their beliefs pass through and are never heard from again.

Merad'in, the Darkened Lands (Sub Forum)

Merad'in, or the Plagued Lands, is the very Plane of Darkness. There is no sun, only the moon, and the light of the moon over Merad'in is not silvery white, but rather an eerie glow of bluish purple. The air carries a certain chill to it, one some would claim is the chill of death.. or undeath as it may be. The very existance of Merad'in, and its most powerful minions, are said to be the cause of the plague over the city which carried a name so close to its own. Merad'in is comprised of everything imaginable: cities, vast lengths of land with no population, even bodies of water the like, though the water is not clear and fresh like that of Arda.

Kaaristrin (Sub Forum)

A mirror of Kir Merad, Kaaristrin is the grand city of the Plagued Lands. It is here that the most powerful demons and undead congregate, and here where there is evidence of the legions of demons and undead who form up in preparation for the rumored entrance into Arda. Kaaristrin is the epitome of a fallen city, yet aside from its darkness, it is a city of awe. There are many small shops and taverns in Kaaristrin, for those who still care for such trivial needs. Through the years since the plague, many living beings have found their way through Kir Merad and the gateway, and some now call this city home.

The Tavern and Inn (Sub Forum and a name needed, everything I think of sounds lame!)

Near the center of Kaaristrin rests a single tavern that holds some semblance of normal, by the standards of Arda. This establishment is a frequently visited meeting place for shady types and newcomers alike, and has smaller rooms on the edge of the main room just for such gatherings. Being that the place is tended to by the living, all sorts of brews and foods can be found, and the weary wanderer can rent a room for the night, or many nights if needed.

_____

Anyways, there's my personal idea. Though... oops. I just read back to Loth's last post and realized I got a wee bit carried away! Oh well, nix the rest of the stuff, though I'll leave it written here, and just go with the plagued city! Hrmm, grats me on getting a bit over excited. That is probably a sign that the last Coke was one too many.

Lothlómendil - June 20, 2006 05:29 AM (GMT)
Wow, those were some FABULOUS ideas! :w00t: The first city just gave me some awesome inspiration for two half-baked plot ideas I had, a really great way to tie the two ideas together along with the adding of new forums. This is awesome, mwahaha, just everyone wait and see :shifty: :w00t:

Demetrio Vasquez - September 28, 2006 11:43 AM (GMT)
The River Deltas - a fertile land prone to floods that are the center of agriculture in Arda.

Aloric - March 31, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
The Traveler's Road (or The Great Road, or some other generic, non-stylized name)
This winding road connects Lomedor to Estolad, and then continued to wind south until it stops at Ondolond. Many travelers use this road if they want the least risk of danger while moving from one town to the next. Outposts are located sparsely along the road and offer supplies and rest for the weary traveler.

Basically, I thought it would be fun for people who want to roleplay going from one civilized town to the next, and it would also be a great spot for all those unusual meetings that we tend to have. People could RP as if they were on the road just out of Lomedor, or further along on the road, south of the Misty Forest. People could also RP as they stop at the outposts and spend the night. I think it'd be really interesting :D

Lothlómendil - March 31, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
That sounds pretty cool, Alz0rz. B) Such a road is vaguely mentioned in a forum description somewhere, but an actual RP forum for it might be interesting.

Curin - August 21, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
I have an idea.

The Southern Fjords, I will research the name in Sindarin later.

This is how my imagination conjures it, all due respect to the creative powers of our amazing board bosses. Imagine it: Enter the Fjords

Here slight purchases of arable land line the sheer bluffs and cliffs of the Fjords, each of these shores little more than a stony beach, and a stones-throw of red soil, overshadowed by headlands that are as tall as the clouds are high, and which are stacked upon, and which lean against one another like too many books crammed into a bookshelf. Here and there a frail wisp of woodsmoke is found, for the indigenous kindreds of the fjords are master smiths, though their hospitality is hard-won, and, it is said, they are Skin-changers, able to take the shape of Bears at will. Forests of pine cling precariously to the bluffs, where Timber-wolves roam, Elks twice as tall as a man, and mighty Boar, and where orcs have found their final refuge. Here the descendants of the Great Eagles have made their last Eyrie. Enter a realm of silvered waters, calm as the surface of a mirror, brimming with herring, and whales. Storms approach suddenly here, and far away sounds appear nearby. Beware the path by which you entered, for the fjords are a labyrinth. Many of the farmers that eek their living from the narrow shores are but travelers who could not find their way back out.

possible sub-topic within the Fjords:

The City on Stilts: ( Sindarin name to be researched)

Here the folk of the fjords have built their only city, governed and paid for by the Captains, perched upon tall piers of wood and stone. Here is the sole school of the Fjords, none other than an academy for the dour-handed raiders of the fjords to be trained, and where their infamous long-ships are wrought. Here the service of a Captain may be bought for any that wish to escape the fjords, for only these few captains have ever managed to master the labyrinth.

another possible suggestion.

The Graveyard of the Whales

Here, hidden deep within the fjords is where all whales come to die. It is said that anyone that comes to this place, and who leaves the weight of 200 gold pieces shall for a moment see their fate with clarity...

Valafar - October 3, 2007 07:27 AM (GMT)
Well, I noticed a lot of the forums and sub-forums had pictures for visual perspective and assistance to their respectful locations, and I ran across a picture that looked an awful lot like the Ancient Temple ruins (at least to me) so I made an effort to uncover more and the following is what I found:

Picture #1: A view from afar - The first one that initiated my search. It has a nice resemblance to what the Ancient Temple ruins' description states and if only one pic were to be chosen, I would suggest this one.

Picture #2: Approaching the Entrance

Picture #3: Temple Courtyard? - The monks kinda throw me off.

Picture #4: Inside the Temple

Of course, this is just my way of trying to help Arda, I don't really mind if you use them or not, but it would make me feel special if you did.  And if you like any of them, I could even make an effort to find more pics of other locations? Then again, I might be pushing it...

Vaul, The Cursed One - November 18, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)

Aralishia - November 19, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
Personally, I love the travelers road idea.

I think some sort of environment where most friendly companions (familiars)can stay or meet, in the wild...or in captivity....

A small environment for each character to keep their familiars (perhaps you would have to buy your pasture type environment)would be nice, but I wish there was no cost, as I am poor right now and have a large amount of items that I would like to buy.

Off that idea, I think that there should be a place, a sanctuary for canines, particularly wolves, and possibly felines, as well as the friends of said animals, these friends are always welcome.
(Yes, I am obsessed and am wolf orriented)

On that note, I think the species possibilites should open up to the possibility of:
1- ability to transform into one animal or another species without energy depletion
2- animals that you can RP (like wolves) that do not have human-like characteristics (as far as phsical, they can be intellegent), basically instead of the human and familiar (wolf), the wolf is the main character.
-or-, I would like:
3- the ability to RP your familiars
The reason for these is that werewolves are generally evil or evil when they transform, without the human mind or power, so those options (^^^) I like much better.

Oh, question: are fairies human sized or, uhm, large insect sized? (small praying mantis...)And are there praying mantis familiars?
(sorry, my mind wanders far too much..)
*ahem*
Sorry, a little carried away
And if I haven't read the species list carefully enough, please forgive me and give me the species list link
____________________________________________________________________
Ah, now I have opened google images. (sorry, I've ran dry after my previous rant  )

Does Arda have... :
  • Some sort of jungle where strange NPC's (cannibals roam and have tribes, etc.
  • A wide, open ocean with underwater cities
  • Ruins?
  • Ruins that have rebuilt and have the ability to live in/ people who already live in them?
  • Some sort of place where the sun gets larger and flower fields run forever and butterflies flutter?
  • Graveyars or place to remember the dead/forgotten?
  • Multiple caves?

I would appreciate it if the [ARP] forums were livened up a little with new flashy places for only ARPers to go, but a teaser of these places for normal members..

Examples:

In my list above, the ARPer subforums that I would like are:
  • In the jungle, while members have the freedom of making up their own barbaric NPC's, a sub-forum could be a Ruin city where rivaling tribes live (these tribes have specific names and traits that good ol' Loth could invent
  • The wide, open ocean is free for all, but the sub-forums have great cities, similar to Altlantis, as well as sub-forums for the cities and homes of the different creatures...
  • The ruins, where all can think privately, holds a secret passageway into a strange place...
  • The habitated ruins would be a sub-forum of above, but this sub-forum would be free to all members
  • The freelance, flowery, happy place has an ARP subforum into a forest (still semi-happy) where we find the 'gray dust' of dreams and nightmares. (see 'gray dust' quote below' The chamber of gray dust could be it's own forum if Loth so desires
  • The caves are both haunting and thrilling. The lair of evil trolls may be a sub-forum.
____________________________________________________________________
My thoughts are gathered.

Hidden Meeting Hollow
If the traveler can find the hollow, great mysteries unfold as the wolves seem to have collected themselves into it, welcoming friends of the forest. This 'army' is both dangerous and a blessing, for if the Gods are able to get these beasts to join amoung the side of the light, the War will surely be won by the light side, but if the wolves fall into the hands of evil, all will be lost, and the forest will nevr be the same again.
*Note: For those who can find their way intothis hollow, do not share the location with anyone other than those trusted.
Sub-forum: Sanctuary
*Open to all members
This sanctuary is kept running by the elves, alies of the wolves since the begining of time. This sanctuary is for those who are injured or in great need of rest, food, or drink.

Jungle of Savages
The jungle of savages is treacherous, one must be careful treading into the jungle holding some mysteries; some even call the travelers insane. The tribes are at war, ancient strories colliding and bringing enemy tribes into the Combat of Death, where 2 men would enter, and 1 would leave. These hidden folk are unknown to the realm, their species or their way of life. One would not wish to cross a savage's path.
Sub-forum: Combat of Death Arena
In this Arena, two men enter and battle until death. The throwing of a death coin onto the dirt in front of your opponent signals a match that neither man can withdraw from.
Sub- Forum: Rav'anu Camp
The Rav'anu beleive in war and perfection in battle, so they practice infanticide and send all living children to battle camp at age 6 and the children do not leave until the age of 16.
Sub- Forum: Presi'ndi Camp
The Presi'ndi wish to advance into modern culture, but the belief of the tribe is that only one tribe may advance, as enscribed by their gods into ancient ruins surrounding the camp. They battle with the Rav'anu near constantly, and it seems as if the Rav'anu tribe, the tribe of war, is going to defeat the Presi'ndi, but the Presi'ndi may havesomething up their sleeves...

Flower Meadow
This meadow is one filled with flowers and a gentle river surronded by the mountains, with lakes lit by the moon and clearings for meetings of familiars, but something may be hidden in this peaceful place, something unspoken and unimaginable...
Sub-Forum: The Caverns of Gray Dust
QUOTE
Nightmares frighten even the most calm-minded soul, and they, with dreams,  leave behind a gray dust, the dust is fine and smells of ash, as if the nightmare has been burned into the soul. It floats in the mind of the dreamer and brings back flashes of pain when one sleeps.

This gray dust enchants evil minds, only when it does not float in their mind, but in the condemned minds they torture, for when it wafts in their evil minds it causes the nervousness and paranoia that leads to the demise of the omnipotent rulers of an evil gang, often being self-appointed to be the master of such criminals. Such evil beings call themselves guardians, but they are more in the likes of a slave master. These masters enrich the nightmares of their workers and captives ad make such dreams live. This 'gray dust' may be the only salvation, for this dust can also be the residual of a fantastic dream. In the chamber where such dreams thrive, the gray dust of dreams glows, sending lighted thoughts in the tortured one's head. The reprieve of the condemned is found in the form of gray dust.

For the tortured, the lost, the captives, the slaves, sleep can be a respite, if used in a proper way; only if such condemned abandon their fears for the nights where sleep is found can they find this gray dust, which may be their only hope.

The Graveyard of Undead Souls
The graveyard hides those forgotten by the world, and while the melancholy gloom and mist lie over the yard, the forgotten may get angered and rise...
Sub- Forum: Pass to the Underworld
When one travels to the underworld, demons unknown wait for them in the pass. If one can find their salvation and rid of their evil, they may find an alternate path to light...

*My fingers are too tired. I just got the idea of a carnival or zoo somewhere. Use your imagination.

The Night Storm - January 13, 2008 04:18 AM (GMT)
I think there should be some sort of redwood forest here.

Yean Farstride - March 5, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
Hello, i would like to suggest more places in Ondolond like what Lómëdor has. Such as the Port the Libary and the battles stand. A suggestion for this would be a place like the the battle stand but more like an amphitheater but not quite as big as you will find displayed on Wiki. I did in fact mention such a place in my first post in A meeting of a kind. its a very inadequate description but i guess you get the jist. Insted of fighting its mostly for acting out plays, Tumblers and Acrobats. but the odd fight may occure there, such as a duel. Another could be some sort of finances office or Merchants office(possible a guild of some sorts) And of course maybe a Inn (like the Traders Waypoint or something with a picture of a man in good clothes sleeping in a fine bed clutching a bag of gold.) Anyway that was my suggestions to make Ondolond seem more like a city with things in it. :D

Kiesu Shiinto - May 26, 2008 07:00 AM (GMT)
Hall of Legends

The Hall of legends is located near Dori'ba and represents both great heroes, and infamous villains alike. It is a sort of shrine for all great figures that have made their mark on Arda and all of it's people, to provide hope, and to help new heroes grow from the stories of nearly unimaginable acts. Every few centuries it seems to grow with new places for the next great heroes.

The Hall of Blades

Stories are told of the infamous Jack of Blades. Once, he was a figure of good, of courage. But he had disappeared from the very face of Arda for centuries. When he returned he had returned changed, his soul had been tainted, and he attempted to throw the rest of Arda into darkness. But he was defeated by a powerful spellcaster who cast him back into the shadows. In the Hall of Blades resides two statues: One to honor his heroic acts, and another to remind of his evil deeds.

The Room of Life

Here are doorways to each room of the gods who have ascended to becoming an elemental power of Arda, and to those who have fallen from their positions as gods. In the middle of the main room is a statue dedicated to the first, and continuing goddess Lothlómendil stands tall in the middle of the room.

Chapel of Light

The door to this room closley resembels a portal in it's rounded shape. In the room is five rows of seats with a yellow life-sized statue of Sartana. At the end of a straight path from the door is a solid, stone stage that supports a statue of the goddess, Kieraline who seems to beckon the the light which exists in one's soul.

The Black Chapel
The doorway to this room is a blackened portal, similar to that of the Capel of Light's. Inside is a similar design to the Chapel of Light. Huge Arches rise up from either side of the room and and each of the seats are black and red. Off to a side is an Obsidian statue of the Dark Wraith, leader of the Shadovar Concordance and Guardian of Darkness. At the end on an obsidian stage is a statue of Raku which beckons to the darkness in one's soul.

NOTE: You may or may not remember Jack of Blades, my first lawful evil character. If you want I could draw up a history if you would need that to really have a sub-forum to him. He is gone, dead again, so you don't have to worry about me going to play him.

Jetemia Reznikek - May 29, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
Ita's ancient post did make me think of a more civilization kind of forum. Maybe Arda could have a city, underground or similiarly hidden, for all those shape shifters. As for a name all that comes to mind is Velis Vel but that is copyrighted to wizards of the coast and I do not suggest using it. (I am merely throwing out what I think would have been a good name under better circumstances)

Azhgul - May 29, 2008 07:08 AM (GMT)
Perhaps some type of ancient dungeon/temple full of dangerous traps that yea.. adventurers can go through. :p

Edited:

Os'da, Undergrounds of Despair (A.k.A Caverns of Despair)

The caverns of Os run through the entire continent of Ea, connecting to each other through a variety of tunnels and dungeon cave complexes. Many travellers have perished in these caverns: their rotting corpses left to the necromancers who dwell there. Skeletal creatures dwell underneath: some never seen for more then a flash moment. Giant vampire-bats cover the roof of the caverns, their deathly screams piercing the very soul of those who pass by. These caverns are mainly left unexplored, and only rumors of them have re-surfaced recently.

Just a thought. ^_^

Untote - June 8, 2008 08:28 AM (GMT)
How about a school for certain children that wouldn't fit in a regular atani school? Like demons and elves and such in the same training grounds?

Finifume Training Academy

The Finifume Training Academy is a place generally free of racial arguments. It trains children the arts of combat, magics, and stealth to further their knowledge into their future. The Finifume Training Academy is also located between the Misty Forest and the Anfauglir Desert as a centerpoint for both survival and navigation. The names of the differant classrooms will reflect upon their teachings in some way. The halls are lined with magically enchanted lockers aligned on the side, the magical enchantment on each only allows for it to provide a two by two foot room in no more than an inch by two feet.

Crescent Sky[u]
[U]Sub Forum

The Crescent Sky classroom is the homeroom for all students. The room is large, about half the size of the Lomedor Battle Stand. At each seat lining the rounded walls is a long table for each row, with gaps for easier access to one's seat. At the center of the room is a small podium, easy for all to see so the lesson can procceed efficiantly.

An'Goth Earth
Sub Forum
The An'Goth Earth classroom is the training room for those who wish to learn the arts of melee combat. The room is located at the edge of the Finifume Training Academy so that the roof and outer wall are open to allow more room for training. Outside of the normal wooden floor is a small arena where students will have duels when selected.

Slo'rryin Sea
Sub Forum
The Slo'rryin Sea classroom is the nexus point for those who wish to study in the magical arts. Books are lined on shelves that cover a fourth of the walls, on another forth is a seating order similiar to the Crescent Sky's in which all students are able to easily learn their current lesson. At the bottom of the seating section is a large rug with a pentagram. The final fourth of the large room is decorated with runes to keep magical powers from spilling out and accidentally injuring the other classmates.

Sooui Posion
Sub Forum
The Sooui Posion Classroom is darkly lit and is designed like a maze. When one is able to find their way to the end of the wretched maze they come to a square room with no seats, but instead a rug and several training dummies and a small lab for poisions. The students are only allowed to make minor poisons, ones that are not threatening to one's life. This is where those who wish to make a living in the shadows train, to hone their accuracy in the dark and be able to take items without being noticed.

Finifumi Cafateria
Sub Forum
The Cafateria is large to say the least. There are exactly fifty-two rows of tables in the room and two tables to a row measuring at fifty feet in length and three feet in width. It has been built large enough to hold most students in the Academy. At either end of the cafateria is a stage where Theatrical Arts club members are able to preform for other students if they so wish to.

Academy Grounds
Sub Forum
The ground are large an open with several trails and trees. They are the general relaxation spot of the students when at a break period between classes. The female and male dorms are located at opposite sides of the Academy Grounds, the Male dorms to the Noeth and the Female Dorms to the South. Each is built to be extremeley sturdy and is also built reinforced with magic.

Feel free to change what you like :D I hope you don't reject it.

#1The Yorian Mountians: A long mountian range that reaches far into the north and far into the south. These mountains are all a white as marble and a exceedingly tall! However, they are as perilous as they are beautifull!

#2 Mabe some more tropical islands of sorts. Something kinda of like the size of Austrailia?

#3 The Shadow Forest: A dark and evil forest, filled with black twisted trees. This place is filled with many horrors and it is because of this fact that it has never been completly explored!

There I editted it. ^_^;

Okay, Lhachlith Volcano... big volcano with eruptions and what not... that's great and all but!!!
Going inside the volcano!
Like a sub forum of like a passage somewhere next to the volcano or the mountain that allows travel inside the volcano... walking through paths of rock with lava right next to the traveler.... small waterfalls of lava inside.... maybe even some kind of a hidden chamber or sociaty that stay inside of the mountain...

'Inside Lhachlith Volcano'

A cave covered by snow, seemingly none existent on the far east lower side of Annon Mountains sits. Finding this cave is a challenge on it's own but surviving the inside is even more of a challenge. A long cave entrance that leads in a straight line to Lhachlith Volcano's insides. Walkways of lava and hardly any walking space. Waterfalls of lava in every corner, and a constant endless heat that can't be matched even by the sun over Anfauglir Desert. Creatures of stone, monsters living in the boiling lava and a lost society living in the very center of it all could be found. Like a maze the inside of the volcano has lost almost all who have gone inside and killed them without ever finding the lost city in the volcano that has been searched for endlessly. Some say the people of this lost civilization are the ones who make the volcano erupt. Only those who make it past the lava that surrounds the city, past the connecting paths or caves that contain the lava and work like a maze, and only those that survive the creatures living outside the lost city will ever know if it is true.

Alright... I was thinking that maybe Arda is missing something really important....
Now even in the times before christ, there was a place where people gathered their young in order to teach them basic life lessons. And the use of everything parents couldn't.

Now.. I realized that unless it is magic related... there are no such things! Wouldn't that make everyone in Arda randomly smart character? How do they learn their language, how to read, how to write, how to deal money and count, how to follow directions. Arda is missing it's most important detail to make the Arda world more fantasy realistic if that makes any sense... the realism is gone simply because of that.

Sure maybe there can be some schools where the students get tought magic so that they learn it at an early age. In fact, it's even a smarter idea for those humans that have magic too. After all, they are humans and magic doesn't seem to be right down their street. It makes more sense. Maybe there can evn be a bonus. For example. It can be a sub-forum in multiple places. One can be in Lomedor. One can be in The Village of Estolad. Another can be in Yomenïampa, and the last one in the undergrounp part of the desert... and that last one doesn't even need to be...

Then as a whole forum of it's own. You have The biggest school in all of Arda. This would be the magic teaching school that everyone travels hundreds and hundreds of miles for. The school where humans mostly go to learn their magic and what not.... and this would be the only magic school... making different classrooms as sub forums... giving it a gym. ETC... something harry potter style ya dig?
Then every other school would simply be a school where the only thing you learn is like math, science for the future alchamests and all those earth loving people, the history of arda, races and other junk like that.... Language.... Art... basic school stuff....
Lets run some ideas...

Lómëdor/Estolad (Insert Name Here)
This is Lomedors biggest school, but not the biggest school in all of arda like most of the things in Lomedor. This is the most valued learning facility in all of Arda as most of it's greatest successors started their success here. The teachers although mostly great can sometimes be rought, and some of them are always keeping the students on their toes. The school goes up to collage level (First grade through fourth collage year.) The valued knowledge of arda that is in the Libraries of Lomedor is tought to the students here. They will learn about Science, math, Language, history, art, music, and the reason very few people in Arda are over weight.. Physical fitness. This is where all the great people from Lomedor and most from Arda come from. The school of (Insert name a second time here).

The school of monkey's threw their doo doo at eachother <-(not real name :w00t: )
This is the greatest, biggest, most populated school in Arda. Some travel to live here till they are done wit htheir education an others travel a daily pain to be able to learn here. The school is so great in size that it houses and contains over ten thousand of Arda's young and old. People of all ages come to this school to learn. They learn about Science, math, Language, history, art, music & physical fitness like any other school in arda. But this school also has the skills that those that fight, protect and try to take over arda have. They will also Learn magic, hot to use, and how to contain it. How to fight, everystyle in the book of fighting and every type of magic is tought at this school.

You get the idea... I just know that i'd love to have a school in arda =)
Maybe even have uniforms the students can buy in the clothes shops with notebooks and stuff they can get too. Infact a whole seperate store can be made for the books a person will have.

I just thin it's annoying that EVERYONE IS SUPER SMART, yet NO ONE has reason to be. None the less alot of people simply know things they shouldn't... and it just makes more sense to have a school =)

I say it's a good idea...
