Title: Freed From Life
Description: Private For Elisia

Charlotte - June 15, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
Charlotte's long days of biding her time, spending as little as possible on her or her horse had paid off. She could afford a day to herself for once, and not have to worry about finding work constantly. All those days of low paying jobs were over, she had made a big enough name for herself as a good merc, and one that took money for her services. Pepper whinnied a little as Char lead her down a narrow path to the base of the falls. A tree with plenty of graze space was her target for the moment.

The horse carefully clopped down the given path, looking warily over the edge and into the water a couple feet below. The horse could swim, but then again, the horse also was blessed with good instincts. Probably a razor sharp rock or two below the surface. With a snort of relief, the horse planted a hoof upon solid ground, and then a second. Char dismounted as soon as she could lead the horse alongside of her. She dragged the warhorse along until she tethered it to the little tree. The horse regarded the tree with a high and mighty air that screamed she could pull this out with a flick of her head.

Char, however, knew the horse was better trained than that. The mercenary slipped off the light leather jacket she had taken to wearing, and placed it gently on the saddle of her horse. The horse glanced at the new rider, and made another snort. Charlotte shook her head, and slipped her shoes off as well. She had heard the falls to be a great vacation spot, with nice temperate waters, the falls just high enough and the water deep enough that it was a fun thing to dive from. Perhaps it would be a rush, even for a valkyre. But a rush was the last thing she had come here for, and the last thing she wanted was to be disturbed.

She had spent far too long in the city, far too long in constant contact with civilization. Her leather boots, perhaps the most comfortable article of clothing she owned, were slipped off next after being unlaced. The valkyre strode towards the water's edge, as regal as a queen. She perched upon a rock at it's edge, and allowed her toes to tap the water. Childhood memories flooded back to her, of all the good times she'd had in Terrawin with her parents.

But that was in her past, and she would never go back. Never.

Elisia - June 17, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
Elisia walked up a grassy knoll near the Falls, keeping in mind her speed--and how much sound she made.
For all that today was her day off, once a thief, always a thief. Elisia had always hated breaking the silence anyway, even before she had gotten into her current profession. Always drew attention to herself, and got herself hurt....
Hurt...heh....

She approached a riverbank and stopped short.

Oh, lovely.

There was a young woman dangling her toes in the water in front of her.
In Elisia's usual spot when she was here, no less!

Well this is just grand, what do I do now..

She decided to walk foreward anyway, rather carefully and silently....annnd of course managed to fall into the water. Just a thieve's luck, of course!
Elisia sat up, hair and clothes soaking wet, and began to swear in several languages--rather colorfully, might I add.

"I'm sorry if I got you wet. I'm a bit of a klutz that way....Oh well the water feels good anyway I've been walking all morning...Did I get you wet?"

This small speech was of course addressed to the woman she'd seen sitting in Elisia's usual spot.....

Better be polite and wait to be yelled at...

The valkyre found herself covered in water. Her horse gave an amused snort, and then went back to grazing. Her eyes slowly, and wrathfully, drifted over to the culprit. Her head turned, and she gave a weak, narrow smile. But then she shrugged, and pulled off her shirt, revealing the cotton blue sash she always wore beneath it.

"Oh, I don't mind. I'll just go for a swim." She said. Charlotte stood up, and dove into the water. She entered with a considerable splash, and then surfaced once more. Her 24 karat hair spread out around her, and she adjusted her red pants underneath the water. She gave a quick, mischevious grin to her companion, and waved within the water.

"Come along, I thought someone said she thought the water felt good!" Charlotte said, as she swam a little farther out from shore. She was now out past her head, and treading water lazily. Pepper snorted once more, and dipped her head to eat a whole poppy flower. Charlotte checked the area for anyone she might have missed, particularly men who might get the wrong idea. She also kept an eye on her blade. She couldn't afford a replacement if this vacation went awry. The roar of the falls that had created the small pond soothed the valkyre, and put her suspicions to rest.

But a fool alone would think that she couldn't outdistance anyone on foot.
