Title: Armor Sets with Bonuses

Malefor - June 11, 2006 12:55 PM (GMT)
I was wondering if there could be some additional armors that when the whole set is worn, a certain effect comes out?

Like lets say we get this Cerberus set, if the wearer is able to purchase the whole set (which should take a while) his armor would produce flames that BOTH protect the wearer and damage enemies that get too close? It would promote armor purchases and such...

IF the idea is approved, I would personally like to volunteer for the image hunt, to lessen the trouble...

thoughts?

sounds like a pretty neat idea... I'd also love to see a set of armour which, if completed produces an enchantment that allows the whole package to be weightless

Well it would take a while, but the armors would probably comprise a helm, armor, greaves, bracers, and leggings. though some would have less or more. .. each would probably cost around 100-200 average, but the bonuses should be well worth it :p

Samples:

Obs' Suggestion: each piece would be like heavy plate, but when all are worn together, the armor would be as light as a feather, allowing unrestricted movement.

Armor of the Abyss: the whole set grants high fire resistance and strong resistance against evil-aligned damage, but takes a little extra from good-aligned damage. The wearer is also granted some kickass fire spell when the whole set is worn.

any thoughts? These are just drafts, but the concept is there...

hrmmm I think it would be pretty unique if the parts of that heavy armour were -really- dang heavy until they are all put together to complete the enchantment.. just for pure effect of course and to encourage everyone to complete it. I'd say the parts should cost like 250-300 a piece of like four - five pieces.

Well the prices would be subject to change, or something... and not all sets would have the same amount of pieces...

like say thieves, they wouldn't have the helm part as it restricts vision, or mage armor sets would only have the cuirass and greaves...

the heavy armor thing was just a sample, but the extremely heavy part would be extreme, that would discourage buying the pieces individually... they have to be good or usable on their own, but when the whole set is purchased an added effect comes when the armor is worn :/

comments?

well it doesn't necessarily mean that if you bought something, you'd have to wear it in a certain thread.

I like the idea of having specialized armour for different classes. I also am looking forward to something like more enchanted pieces of clothing ^_^

I like this idea, and maybe new sets won't have to be made. I've noticed several matching things now you can get from the shops ( e.g Bone armour +shield) so maybe a little note could be added to their description saying that if both are bought, a certain effect takes place.

 or

I'm definatly for this idea, and will help in any ways that I can. I could easily put my head together with Obs, Sanzen and Dengar to come up with some armor-set ideas.

Sanzen - June 11, 2006 11:56 PM (GMT)
We could use the current armor pieces Loth has provided, and just put another purchase price to have them forged into a single set (which provides the bonus)

And we could also add more armor pieces, to provide variety... I was going for this because not many people really buy armor, as they only offer simple protection. But with added effects that are pretty powerful, wouldn't it 'boost' the sales of the armors?

Hmmm Dengar has a point, any armor pieces currently found in the armor shop can be mixed together.... but I think this may be a large-scale effort, if it is approved :p any help is appreciated

I do like the idea, though I will only accept suggestions if you have images to go along with them. I will probably make the following sets - bone set, holy set, uhmm... stuff. o_0
