Title: Washing away Imperfections

Etain - August 10, 2004 03:01 AM (GMT)
Water swirled around her, moving away from her in small waves as she swam. Forgive me for what I’ve done. Her black hair had fanned out around her head, her thin cotton dress floating out around her form with its large and long sleeves looking almost like wings. Though I shouldn’t be offering an excuse to you, it was self-defense.. She sighed, a soft exhaled breath that seemed to blend in with the breeze. Her clear blue-green eyes stared up at the clouds for only a moment before she closed them. I took two men’s’ lives… Even if it was their time to come, I shouldn’t have been the one to send them on their way.
She had been swimming on her back but now she flipped onto her stomach and then dived under the water. She surfaced not to long after diving and began to swim towards the other side of the lake. Her movements were smooth and fluid, like the water itself. The ease with which she propelled herself forward suggested that she had been swimming for a long time. Upon reaching the opposite shore she turned in the water and began to swim back the way she’d come, her gaze focused only on the destination that rested before her. Halfway there she dived beneath once more, though she didn’t rise up to the surface as before. She twisted this way and that within the water’s depths with the occasional flip or tumble. It looked almost as though she was dancing.
I made a mistake that I will regret for many a long year... I ask for your forgiveness for what I did. She swam up to the surface and began to tread water, looking out around her. Forgive me for everything that I’ve done. I ask, Dear Water, that you wash away my imperfections. She dived under the water once more, swimming down towards the bottom making it somewhat obvious that she could breath underwater. Wash away my fears. Upon reaching the lake bottom she swam along it. Wash away my problems, my doubts. She pushed off from the bottom then and, with a surprising speed, come up and surfaced. “Make me new, clean, and whole as though you’d only just given life on to me.” She sighed for the second time as she tilted back her head and closed her eyes.

Seria remained rigid in the water, only in up to her neck. She saw a figure swimming in the water, a ways off, and guessed it was, a man. She sunk deeper, and covered her nakedness with her wings, and went for a swim. But, it was slow going, her wings acting as an effective method for water breaks. She struggled, and began to talize she was tired, the shore looking as though it was a mile away.

"Help," she shrieked, her head beginning to submerge.

Unda whirled around in the water upon hearing the cry and her gaze darted around. There! She spotted the head of another sinking beneath the water. She dived beneath the surface and shot through the water, swimming as fast as she could to reach the other.
When she reached the other, a winged female she noted, she grabbed both her arms and pulled her up as best she could so that her head was above surface.

“Are you okay miss?”

Seria Sentrandai - September 6, 2004 10:29 PM (GMT)
Seria gasped in huge quantities of air, and coughed up a close to equal amount of water.

"Thank you...I should have never gone swimming, it's not quite my specialty, yet... The water is so inviting, a perfect semblence o-" Seria rambled, until she cut herself off. She smiled, and grimaced.

"Out of curiosity, who are you?" She said, sounding nervous.

“It’s alright and I understand... At times the water gives off comfort or at least, it gives me comfort.” She smiled at her again, friendly and kind.

“I’m Unda. Who’re you, if you don’t mind me asking?"

Seria Sentrandai - September 10, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
"Seria." She said, smiling. She gestured to the far shore, and flicked her hand out of the water.

"The water is very calming, a nice change from flight. Flight is exhilerating, it's freedom. Meanwhile land travel is boring, tiring, dirty..." Seria said, smiling. Her hand she had earlier flicked out of the water pointed into the air.

"Have you ever flew before? It's the least I can offer, after all, you saved my life."
