Title: Who knows what tomorrow brings?
Description: As open as open can be

Umbra - May 24, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
Umbra stood in a tree. Her gaze looked out over the lake, the sun was lowering, not starting sunset just yet but making a beautiful scene as she stood nevertheless . She looked calm but deep down inside she was worried. The war was about to start and she was worried about what might happen. She did not know if she should stay behind and protect the camp or go out to the battlefeild. She wondered if she would return safely. She did not know what to expect, she was not worried about protection. She had protected her self for quite some time."Who truely knows what tomorrow brings? In a world where mortals live in fear of the unknown and immortals share wisdom with those who do not want it. she wondered. The grass below her showed her shadow as it grew longer. She wondered as the night grew, she was chaotic but still had a little balance in her, perhaps it was only her human side that feared and loved and had friends. She sat down watching the sun begin to disapear under the horizon, she turned her head as she heard someone approaching. "Who is there?" she called to the shadows in the trees around her, the shadows growing ever so long, and the moon, where the darkness was about to attack, began to rise.

Dark_Descendant - May 24, 2006 07:24 PM (GMT)
Dark Descendant moves from the darkness, Her gaze shifting onto the form of Umbra as she moves from the depths of the shadows. Her piercing gaze transfixes upon her form, Gleaming slightly as the moon begins to rise.

She grins towards her form, Arms resuming their usual folded position across her chest as her eyes remain on the girl, As if observing the structure of the one sitting next to the gleaming water of the lake.

' Sorry If I interrupted your peace, That I am. I was merely out for a stroll and decided to come to the lake to dwell in my thoughts, I did not know there would be another here, That I did not. '

She responds to the girl's question in her usual cold, Harsh tone, Her gleaming, Piercing eyes never leaving the form of Umbra as Dark Descendant speaks these words.

She then allows her gaze to shift onwards from the structure of the one known as Umbra, To the scenary around their forms, The rising moon reflecting a sort of yellow colour of the shimmering lake water.

Her gaze continues to avert onwards, Thus observing their surroundings, The many trees, Now casted in shadow as the moon begins to rise, The plants scattered here and there, The smell of these wild flowers infused in the air.

She grins slightly before reaching into a pouch at her side, Pulling out a blood stained cloth, She coughs harshly into it, Gritting her teeth slightly as she coughs for a further few moments harshly into this cloth.

Her eyes close slightly, For a moment as she pulls the cloth away from her mouth, Feeling slightly dazed now for some reason. She glances down at the cloth, A new layer of blood lining the cloth.

She scowls towards the blood, Her hand moving back into her pouch, Discarding the cloth and the thought of the blood with no further thought into the small pouch at her side.

The disease was obviously worsening, She knew this as she was now beginning to feel dazed and dizzy, And the random shoots of pain through her body were becoming more constant.

She shakes her head, Discarding anymore thoughts of the disease to the back of her mind, A look of determination in her gleaming eyes. She would not let this disease beat her, It would kill her in time, But if it were to do so, This would be her time.

In the mean time she would go on, She would carry on with her life of travel and battle, As these thoughts spiralled through her mind, Thoughts of the war to come entered her mind.

Had she done the right thing by entering the Dark Side? She did not bare a grudge against Arda or it's people, She did not know anyone well enough to bare a grudge, But she had joined the dark side.

Maybe it was because her instincts had told her to join the side attacking Arda, But why? She did not know, She had lost all of the answers to these questions a long time ago, Maybe she just longed for a good fight, before her death. Maybe not.

Umbra - May 24, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
Umbra narrowed her eyes at the stranger. She did not like the tone and definately did not like the looks of the girl who was using it. She narrowed her eyes as a cat does as it contemplates if a prey is worth the effort. Apparently she did not feel the girl was worth it because she just turned and looked the other way, "You are not interupting anything. If you wish to clear your head then do so." she replied sharply, not as the girl did but softer, more like she was really saying 'go ahead no one is stopping you from being here. Just let me to my thoughts and I will leave you to yours'

She looked at the girl as she coughed into the cloth, her head cocked and a confused look came across her face but she dismissed saying anything just yet. She turned to look out into the distance. The sky was growing darker and stars were comming out. She took out her lantern and snapped her fingers, making a spark and lighting it. She hung it on the branch she was on, it was not needed just yet but it soon would be. "I am Umbra, a half demon. And you are?" she inquired of the girl.

Dark_Descendant - May 24, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)
Dark Descendant takes a seat upon the edge of the lake. Her gaze seeming to lock onto the water of the lake her piercing gaze seeming to be transfixed upon it's continuously shimmering water.

She nods slightly to the words of Umbra, Strands of her electric black hair falling over her pale face as she nods towards the girl's words, Having sat down already, But finding it polite of Umbra having not told Dark Descendant to simply go away.

She thinks to herself, Gaze staying locked upon the lake water once more, The moon slowly rising, But seeming to be taking so long, She allows heer gaze to shift to the moon, It's surface seeming to shine a bright sort of yellow, Maybe orange.

She stays sitting here, Gaze transfixed upon the moon's gleaming surface, For a further few moments. Her arms fold across her chest as her feet come in, Sitting like this now, At the edge of the water.

She stays seated, Deep in thought, Eyes half closed as she remains like this, Her mind upon the role of memories flashing before her eyes, Her fsits clench slightly, The memories of many brutal murders flashing before her eyes.

She growls slightly under her breathe, Having come to the lake to think over things and become much calmer about the war to come, But this seemed to be bringing back old memories, Bad memories inwhich she would of rather forgotten.

She shakes her head, Trying to pull her mind away from the murders in the past, Gaze narrowing, The look of determination gone from her eyes and replaced with one of mere hate and despise.

Her mind trails back to the many battles in which she countered years ago, The many deaths in which she had caused, And now she had entered a war, Where much more killing would be layed upon her hands.

Were these killings ones which needed to be done? She shakes her head once more, Ofcourse they were, This was a war inwhich people had to die..But had she done the right thing by joining the dark side?

She growls, Her mind seeming to be in chaos with so many questions spinning around in her mind. She had so many questions now, But she had lost all of the answers in which she used to know.

She was beginning to wonder why she had begun travelling, And why she had promised herself never to kill again unless it was completely needed, And there were no other ways around it.

And then there was the disease, The incurable disease..She had found no way to cure it as of yet, And was wondering if she should now, As when it is her time to die, She must obey this, And believe it is her time to die, After all, This had been the way of the samurai for many thousands of years.

The way of the samurai, To fight, To protect, To train, And when it is one's time to die a samurai must obey this choice, It is the choice in which ends their life, It must come sooner of later.

But until that time, She would remain determined, She would go on, She would not lett this disease stop her nor would she let it ever make her determination decrease even if it did begin to make her physical strength deterialate.

She was pulled out of these thoughts as Umbra spoke, Her gaze shifting swiftly onto her form as she is pulled out of the state of thought as the girl asks what her name is. She thinks for a moments, As if contemplating giving the woman her name before making her decision.

' The name is Kurotsume Iora, That it is. Greetings to you Umbra. ' She nods once more towards the female, The look of determination visable once more in her eyes as they gleam.

The Dark Society Celestial Guard - May 24, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
The council stood onto a high hill, watching the two girls in wonder.

They seem worthy enough.
You think so?
I'm not sure about them....
I am. I think we should test them.
That we shall.

Moving at blinding speed, they headed towards the two, and dashed right in front of them.

Why hello
you two!
What are you
doing
way out here?

They stood patiently, waiting for a reply.

Dark_Descendant - May 24, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
Dark Descendant's gaze shifts about as if sensing another's prescense, Maybe more than one prescence, Her gaze narrows as she feels the prescence of other people near the lake.

Her eyes remain narrowed as the forms of The Dark Society Council seem to move swiftly infront of her and Umbra's forms. She arches a brow as they move infront of her form.

She moves backwards, Leaping to her feet and swiftly movinmg backwards in what seems to be a backflip, Palms coming to the grassy ground as she leaps backwards.

She lands on her feet. Eyes remaining upon the forms of the Council members. She glares slightly towards their forms as she lands, Daito swaying to and fro, Suspended from her waist.

' What I am doing here is none of your concern, That it is not. ' She says in her usual harsh tone, Certain that she would now not by able to gain the moments of calmness and relaxation which she may have been able to have gotten before the Council members arrived.

Umbra - May 24, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
Umbra nodded at the girl. "It is a pleasure." she said. She looked off into the distance, a slight breeze blew her hair which was about to her shoulders. She took in a deep breath, she wanted this moment to last. It had been a great while since she actually had to fight off the demon within her. She smiled as the stars grew brighter and the sun was creeping below the horizon, but seemed to hover in one place as if to make this moment last forever and not want to end the day, and start the night.

Umbra closed her eyes and took out her dagger and layed her back on the trunk carving two symbols into the branch she was sitting on. She opened them and found they meant herself and apparently the girl she was with. She sheathed the dagger and ran her fingers over them. She saw battles in which they would fight and win, battles they would lose and some that would never occur with them in it. She smiled, she knew that they would win and lose but no matter the winner Darkness would always be in places light could not.

She closed her eyes again, her lantern was already attracting moths and such. She took deep breaths as they were both quiet but she snapped them open when she felt that they were not alone.
"Why hello
you two!
What are you
doing
way out here?"

The figures asked. She turned fully as she watched Kurotsume back flip away from them. Umbra jumped down and took out her dagger, "I am out here to enjoy peace while I can still keep ahold of it. Chaotics dont get this chance very often. But it is not polite nor a good idea to sneak up on someone without acknowledging yourself and an introduction takes place." she replied. She looked at them with a bored expression and resheathed her dagger. "It is not safe to do so in these times. So who are you and why do you come here at this time of day?" she said asking them the same question they asked her.

Dark_Descendant - May 25, 2006 02:22 PM (GMT)
Dark Descendant's eyes remain narrowed upon the forms infront of her, piercing gaze transfixed upon their forms. She scowls slightly towards their structures, an instant dislike appearing towards them.

She glares slightly, piercing eyes remaining transfixed upon their forms as her eyes narrow slightly, the moon behind the men now fully risen, and this act of rudeness that the men had just performed had made her miss the rise of it.

A hand remains upon the tsuka of her Daito, the Daito swaying to and fro, remaining suspended from her waist by a small rope, the rings around the scabbard gleaming intensly from under her tattered cloak.

Her tattered cloak, dusty with the essence of constant travel and battle billows out behind her form as the wind begins to pick up around their forms, the night beginning to crawl in around them.

Her gaze shifts to the only two light sources, the lamp of Umbra and the bright yellow moon, she watches them for a few further moments, moths and small green flies beginning to whirl around the light, obviously attracted by the lamp's light.

Her gaze then narrows once more towards the forms of the men.
' She asked you a question. It'd be in your best interest to answer, That It would. I am in a foul mood, I came here for peace, Peace you have now disrupted with your rudeness, A peace I may never be able to get again when the war begins. '

She scowls once more towards them, coughing slightly, shoots of pain flashing through her form as she coughs harshly, she winces, cratering over slightly for the mere pain, but remaining balanced.

She stands up straight once more, a hand resting casually upon her stomach, this obviously not being casually as she attempts to ignore the pain, but the slight hand movement to her stomach seeming casual.

She knew that the disease was worsening, and that maybe this would have been the last full moon she'd be seeing as she soon would be marching off for the reinforcement part of the army.

The Council's rude entry had put her in a foul mood as she had missed the rising of the moon which my have been her last sighting, and the men had therefore disrupted the peace in which she had longed for days and thought she would have gotten.
