Title: Battle Royal
Description: This one will work this time!
Wei the Blade - July 26, 2004 01:45 AM (GMT)
The Arch Angel slowly glided down to earth. He hadn't been to this place in a while, and longed for a good fight. This dirt arena had been in the grasslands for as he had walked the earth, which was a long time. He remembered it used to be used more often, and people would travel the earth to see warriors fight on it, but now it was just a dirt circle in the ground. It dissapointed Enrai that there weren't many true warriors left on Arda, but if there were he would fight them for a good challenge.
Enrai stood on the dirt arena, with all six of his arch angel wings spread to their full extent. A small breeze made his blue cape flap in the wind. The gold wings on his helm, sword blade and silver plate mail glistened off of the sunlight, which should draw the attention of someone in the area, or atleast he hoped it would.
White clouds hung in the sky, hovering only a few hundred feet from the ground. The tall grass waved in the wind. It was a beautiful day, and a perfect day to train.
"I wonder when some real challenges will arrive..." He said to himself. He kept his long sword drawn in case of unexpected arrivals, or if someone tried to attack from behind, Enrai would be ready.
Draco - August 2, 2004 02:45 AM (GMT)
Draco stood in the shade of the lone tree, watching Enrai as he glided down to the ground. He had left his weapons back at the shrine, planning on getting some good practice with his magic today. Draco slowly left the shade of the tree and walked into the dirt square. "Hello, I am here to answer your challange. My name is Draco, I am the Gaurdian of Water."
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 02:27 AM (GMT)
Enrai was suprised that he hadn't noticed the man when he had came here, but it was no matter. The Sun Guardian stuck his sword into the dirt arena.
"If you don't mind, I was going to wait for some more challengers, so the fight would be more enjoyable, but if you want, we can fight now. It is your choice." Enrai stated to the Guardian of Water.
Draco - August 3, 2004 02:33 AM (GMT)
"That's fine with me if you want to wait, but don't wait to long, or I may fall asleep. So far, it looks like I am the only challange you will get. Draco then sat down on the arena floor and watched Enrai, studying the way he moved, trying to figure out how he would fight. This would be a great fight indeed, Gaurdian of the Sun against the Gaurdian of Water.
Liara - August 3, 2004 02:55 AM (GMT)
Liara watched the two gaurdians from her position in the grass. She decided to make her entrance. She stood and strode over to the two men standing in front of her. She nodded her head to each of them. "I would also like to battle to day. That is if you will have me." Many had turned her away for being a woman before. SHe brushed some dirt of her green robes. She dug her feat into the dirt about a foot down. She hummed a few words drawing strength from the very core of the Earth.
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 02:59 AM (GMT)
Suprised again, Enrai took his sword out of the ground, and brushed the dirt off of its blade. He returned his attention to the newest member of their fight.
"I do not mind, just as long as you are aware of the risk." The Sun Guardian said to the woman.
"But to make the fight even, since neither of you two have weapons, you two can be on a team, and fight against me, since I have armor and two weapons. What say you?" Enrai asked the two guardians.
Liara - August 3, 2004 03:07 AM (GMT)
Liara pulled herself free of the ground. "Sounds fair to me." She looked her companion over, noting every detail. He was the Gaurdian of Water. She had seen him before. This would be an interesting battle. She stepped back away from the group. Secretly setting up defenses on her self. She wouldn't let anyone surprise her. She whispered to the trees calming then as they leaned in eagerly to see why she was tense. This practice would do er good. She waited for her companion get ready.
Draco - August 3, 2004 03:10 AM (GMT)
The look Draco gave Enrai was one of amusement. "You think that just because you can't see any weapons, you think I don't have any. Well, your thinking is flawed, but I doubt the weapons I am talking about are the ones that you are thinking about." Draco swiftly stood up and bowed to Liara. "I hope we come out victorious this day."
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
"I'm going to guess you are talking about magic. It doesn't matter, I too have magic." Enrai stated, forming a shield of pure light over his left arm, as he held his sword in the right. The shield formed over his arm, making his forearm not visible.
"Attack whenever you like." He stated holding the shield of light in front of himself, waiting for them to strike.
Draco - August 3, 2004 03:39 AM (GMT)
"Part of it was magic, but not all of my weapons are made of magic." Draco suddenly shot his right hand forward at Enrai, and launched an ice arrow from his palm at Enrai's shield. "Let's see how strong your shield is when it's frozen."
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 05:26 AM (GMT)
"Ha! It'll take a lot more than ice to freeze light." Enrai said, concentrating on the shield. It grew brighter and hotter, and by the time it got to him it was just water.
"You should atleast give me more credit than that." He stated grinning. Immedietly after he shot towards Draco swinging his sword horizontally across, aiming for his chest. He held his shield in front of his side in case the Earth Guardian used magic.
Liara - August 3, 2004 05:05 PM (GMT)
Liara watched the battlel unfold. Her skin begn to become hard and stone-like. An impenetrable shield to most. She was curious as to what weapons the Water Gaurdian carried. She closed her eyes and searched for nearby animals. She found one that would suit her. (This is summon nature's ally spell) She called to the great falcon that was searching for prey nearby. Come aid me friend. Liara stayed distanced. She was used to fighting with a group. She usually fought out of mele range. She pointed her palm at a nearby bush. An enormous buzzing sound was heard. A large group of flying insects emerged. She sent them racing at Enrai to bite and sting him. She continued to focus her power on the stoneskin.
((Am I overpowering it with the magic? If I am tell me :bouncy: . I don't like to fight with weapons though. That is why I am fighting like this.))
Draco - August 3, 2004 05:20 PM (GMT)
Draco immediatly ducked down and dove to the left, trying to put some distance between him and Enrai. When he turned back to face Enrai, he saw the spells that Liara were casting. Hey Liara, we have a slight disadvantage. In order for most of my spells to work, I need water. However, if I summon water, that could drive away your help, and destroy any golems you make. I guess I will have to change tactics."
Draco then reached inside himself and felt for his power to change. He suddenly felt the changes occur. His skin grew harder and covered with scales. He grew larger and sprouted wings from his back. When the transformation was complete, he was a blue dragon. Ready to take on Enrai and anything he had.
ooc: In case your wondering what I look like, look at my avatar. Also, the battle would go better if we kept this pattern to our posts. Liara, me and then Enrai. It would prevent anyone from getting left out of the loop.
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 07:29 PM (GMT)
Enrai heard the buzzing while he was half-way to Draco. When the Water Guardian moved out of the way Enrai landed on the ground behind where Draco would be if he hadn't jumped away.
"Damn... I wasn't hoping to use it so early in the battle." He said to himself. He turned around and muttered an incantation, seconds later an auro of light began to grow around Enrai. It kept getting stronger and stronger, and when the bugs got to Enrai, they were all set to flames. The auro's power winded down at the passing moments.
(celestial spell: Sunlight)
Liara - August 3, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
Liara didn't know how she could hurt this Gaurdian. She decided to change tactics a little. She looked around, noting the plant life. She began to call to the plants but was abruptly intterupted by a searing pain on her shoulder. She looked towards it and saw the falcon she had called, resting there. Fly to that nearby branch. Stay away from the man in the center. The falcon spread its wings and flew away. Liara called to the plants again. They obeyed her command as the raced towards Enrai in an effort to entagle him.
Draco - August 3, 2004 09:30 PM (GMT)
Draco let out a roar that seemed to shake the ground they were standing on. He slowly walked forward to cut of his retreat. If Enrai wanted to get past Liara's plants, he would have to get through him. Draco spread his wings to their full span, and began rythmatically tapping his claws against the ground.
ooc: I know it's not very long, but I can't really speak since I am a dragon.
Wei the Blade - August 3, 2004 10:08 PM (GMT)
"Turning into a dragon won't help you any, it just makes you a bigger target." Enrai stated, hacking away the few plants that had gotten near him, though many more remained. He held out the arm that had the shield on it. The energy from the shield moved from his forearm to his palm, and formed a ball of fiery light. Enrai unleashed the energy at one of the dragon's wings. He reformed the shield on his arm.
Liara - August 4, 2004 01:40 AM (GMT)
Liara's heart jumped as some of her plants were killed. This was harder than she had expected. He was very well trained. She cut off her energy that fed the plants. No new plants attaacked. The remaining ones were still after thier target.Attack his un-shielded arm. Claw at whatever you can get to, then circle back to your resting spot. Liara hoped he wouldn't excpect the falcon's attack. She also hoped that Draco could extinguish the fire with a water spell, hopefully. " Apparentlly I am to great a foe to be attacked I suppose?" Liara let a manic laugh fall from her lips. She grined and made her stoneskin stronger. She began to conserve her energy for the next spell she intended to cast.
Draco - August 4, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
Draco swiftly furled his wing, trying to dodge the blow. He was just an instant to slow, the ball hit the outer side of his wing, and left a long red burn mark there. Let's see how his fire stands up to this. Draco unleashed a roar to the sky, and instantly dark clouds began to gather. The grew until they had formed a storm, then it began to rain. The rain help dull the pain of the wound some. With all of this water around, Draco could really unleash his spells.
Wei the Blade - August 4, 2004 03:05 AM (GMT)
Enrai looked at the woman, thinking about why she would try and draw attention to herself.
"If you wish." He said to the woman, but before he could take flight, his arm was entangled by the remainder of the plants.
Thats annoying... Enrai thought to himself, strengthening the power of his shield, burning the plants to a light crisp, though the fire was put out by unexpected rain.
One annoyance after another... He thought to himself again. He held up his sword, and its blade began emitting a bright light. Water evaporated when it touched the sword blade.
Enrai lunged at the woman, swinging his sword in an upward slash.
Liara - August 4, 2004 06:19 AM (GMT)
Liara watched as the bright sword lurched at her at an alarming rate. She called up a shield of plamts to no avail. The searing sword went straight through the plants and hit her stoneskin. SHe was sent sprawling backwards. She clutched her rib-cage. She figured he had broken something. She instinctivly called for the bird. Come over here, help me. The large falcon swooped in low, claws outstretched to tear the man apart. She stood and winced at the pain it caused.
Draco - August 4, 2004 05:31 PM (GMT)
Draco suddenly pounced at Enrai, using his powerful leg muscles to propel himself forward. He swung his right hand at Enrai, to prevent him from striking at Liara again. While he was in the air, he opened his mouth and massive amounts of fog came out, it continued to pour out until the whole arena was covered in fog.
Wei the Blade - August 4, 2004 09:10 PM (GMT)
Enrai jumped back, and took to the skies, to dodge the swing of the blue dragon, and to dodge the attack of the angered birdy. Looking down on the arena it was difficult because of the fog. Enrai couldn't even spot the earth guardian, but the dragon was still visible.
Enrai flew downwards at the water guardian, bringing his sword over his head, then swinging it in a downwards slash, aiming for the guardian's uninjured wing.
Liara - August 5, 2004 07:01 AM (GMT)
Liara didn't knwo where either of the Gaurdians were. The fo was so thick she couldn't see her feet.Fly High, Circle above Sun Gaurdian. (Sun I think)
She watched the falcon circle for a verly lonf time, then she relized he had found his target he was circling te same area over and over. She decided to paly hard ball. She had reserved enough strength. She pointed her palms at the area of teh falcon. The ground began to shake violently. A small crack started at the end of Liara's feet, it slowly spread out and onwards until there was a guge opening in teh surface which was aimed to engulf teh Gaurdian. (earthquake spell). Liara quickly moved from her position. She didn't want him to know wxactly where she was. It was best to keep him guessing.
Draco - August 5, 2004 02:10 PM (GMT)
Draco saw Enrai swinging his sword at his wing out of the corner of his eye. He swung his wing out to try and hit Enrai with it. Even though his wing would get damaged, he hoped he would have enough force to knock Enrai out of the sky. He felt the ground start shaking and knew that Liara was trying something. If he could knock Enrai to the ground, Liara might be able to hit him with whatever spell she cast.
Wei the Blade - August 5, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
Enrai was suprised at what the water guardian did. The wing hit Enrai in the face, but his sword stabbed into the wing of the dragon, and the Sun Guardian was knocked back to quickly to pull it back out. When Enrai hit the ground, he only fell into what seemed to be a chasm. The angel pulled out his spear, which was tied to his back. In the process of falling Enrai's wings were badly injured by being hit by falling rocks and the chasm. He stabbed it into the side of the chasm, to make his stop falling.
He spread his wings and flew back up, with great pain. When he finally got back up some of the fog had faded, but the earth gaurdian was still not visible. Enrai closed his eyes, and listened for her to make some noise, when she did, he'd make his move.
Liara - August 7, 2004 05:29 AM (GMT)
Liara watched Enrai flail as he fell into her chasm. He got out before she had enough time to close it. Liara moved through the gras, commanding the plants out of her way so they didn't rustle against her robes. She could make out the outline of the dragon and gaurdian. I no longer need you, return to my shrine. Liara closed her eyes and began to summon another creature. A large group of bats flew in through the fog. She picked them because they could bite, fly and didn't need to see. Attack the man. Drink his blood. The large black swarm raced to their destination. Hungry.
Draco - August 7, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
Draco realized that his dragon form wasn't helping very much, so he decided it would be better to change back. Before he could do that, he needed to take this sword out of his wing. He turned his head back and grabbed the hilt of the sword with his teeth. He then yanked it out in one swift motion, it hurt like hell, but at least it was out. He then began the change back to a human. He felt his wings shrink back into his back, his scales changed to skin. Soon he was human once again. Two wounds on his back were bleeding sluggishly, he would have to do something about that soon. Right now however, he needed to try something to bring down Enrai. He swiftly called forth clouds to come and gather above him. The sun slowly became blocked by the clouds. Soon after the clouds arrived, light flecks began to fall down onto the arena. After few minutes, there was a steady down pour of snow.
Wei the Blade - August 11, 2004 06:47 PM (GMT)
Enrai could hear the screeching of the bats from a distance away. He held out his hand, and a huge ball of light formed in front of his palm. The guardian held the ball over his head, and unleashed it on the ground. When the energy hit the arena, it began to crumble, and almost make another chasm. Except when it hit, it was about three times louder than the earthquake.
That would have to hurt the bats. He thought, trying to ignore the falling snow.
Liara - August 11, 2004 08:23 PM (GMT)
Liara watched the ball of light form and hit the ground. She dodged to her right to avoid falling debri. Her bats circled, some falling to the ground under falling rocks and what not. A few were left, but flew away. Liara didn't know what could hurt this man. She pointed at the ground. A large earth elemental rose out of it. She sent to attack the gaurdian.
Draco - August 15, 2004 01:04 PM (GMT)
Draco raised his hand and summon up a mighty wind to make things even harder for Enrai. He drew it into his fist and made it as strong as he possibly could, he then launched it straight at Enrai's chest, hoping to knock him off balance in time for the elementals attack. He then charged forward after the racing wind, and launched an ice arrow from te palm of his handin hopes of freezing something.
Wei the Blade - August 15, 2004 06:50 PM (GMT)
Enrai stuck his spear into the ground to keep from being blown off into the wind. When the ice arrow was shot, the only thing he could do was shield himself from it with his left arm. The arrow pierced his forearm, and froze around it. The Sun Guardian couldn't last much longer against both of the guardians.
"I give up. You win." He shouted out to them, hoping they would hear over their loud magic attacks.
Liara - August 21, 2004 05:56 AM (GMT)
Liara stared blankly at the gaurdian. She hadn't excpected him to give up so easily, she wondered if it was a trick. She told her elemental to cease. It stood inches from Enrai, ready to attack. Liara strode forward. "Why do you give up brave warrior?" Liara sarcasticly questioned.
((Sorry to take so long. School started and a bunch of other stuff.))
Draco - August 21, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
Draco stood where he was, wondering why Enrai was giving up. He looked over at Enrai and then he fully realized the damage that had been caused to both of them. Liara was the only one that wasn't hurt becuase she was smart enough not to just charge into battle. Draco suddenly felt drained of energy and wondered how Enrai was doing. He walked up a couple of steps until he was standing next to Liara. He reached out his arm and put a hand on her arm. "Hold on Liara, you don't need to be sarcastic about it. You may have your doubts, but I believe him."
Wei the Blade - August 21, 2004 06:10 PM (GMT)
"Yes, listen to the Water Guardian. I am in no condition to fight anymore." Enrai stated, still leaning on his spear.
"Since this fight is pretty much over, I think I shall head back to my shrine now." He said, as he turned and picked his sword up from the ground.
"Let us have a rematch some day." Enrai said, as he turned to walk back to his shrine. It wouldn't take long for him to get there.
((That can be the end of the thread, but if you want to continue you can, I don't how, but whatever.))
