Title: Careless
Ranewen - July 20, 2004 10:15 PM (GMT)
A lone figure sat on the beach, feet pulled up towards her chest, her arms wrapping around them. Her chin rested on her knees as she looked out at the one-blue and clear waters, which were now the color of the sky, which was turning to night. The sun was sinking and the pinks, purples, reds, and yellows were being taken over by the dark blue and stars, as well as the moos, which was almost full. Next to the woman, sat a little wolf pup, his head laid down on the sand. Although it looked it, he was not sleeping, just watching the waves lap up against the shore lightly.
“Beautiful sight, isn’t it?” she asked the pup, whose head looked up at her as if to say he agreed. She smirked and patted him on the head lightly and looked up at the sky. “We shouldn’t be out at this time, Amaroq, but I don’t care any more… Who cares about us besides ourselves?” she asked, looking back down at him. “No one does… We only care about ourselves. The others are greedy little bastards who couldn’t care less if we died…” she admitted and then sighed lightly, blinking a few times. “Like my parents… I was holed up, scarred, and chained for the hell of it by them. I dare say that they are my parents, because they sure didn’t act like it. That’s why I got my revenge…” she explained to Amaroq, smiling slightly.

"Well that's a lovely story." Sarcasm was obvious in Adsero's voice. Harro nipped her ankle, warning her to be polite. "Ouch! Sorry. I'm Adsero, I didn't mean to listen in on your conversation." Adsero poked her head over a rock not far behind the girl and cub. Harro jumped on top of the rock looking at the two. "I accually didn't notice anyone else was here." She smiled warmly towards the girl.

Ranewen’s vision turned towards the pyro and she smiled slightly, but when she looked back down, the pup had seem to, well… disappear. Perhaps it was a ghost of some sort. Most likely, it was. “It’s all right… I’m Ranewen. It’s nice to meet you,” she said, wanting to be polite. She stood slowly, looking at where the pup once was, slightly confused. She rubbed her arm and wondered if she was seeing things. She shrugged her shoulders mentally and then looked over at Adsero, a slight smile on her face. She never smiled voluntarily; she was only smiling because she didn’t want to make Adsero mad. Obviously, she was much more powerful then Ranewen. Rae didn’t wish to get herself into trouble already. She looked down at the ground for a moment before her vision rose to look at Adsero and then down at Harro. Soon, though, she forced herself to look up at Adsero. She wasn’t one to like being around other people, but she could deal with it. She might be ill-mannered, but she could end up as a friend.

Adsero rested her chin on the rock, red/orange eyes gazing at the girl. She forgot why she came here. Maybe just for fun, maybe the need to be surrounded, one couldn’t say. Harro hopped off the rock and began to walk around the area. She let him be for the moment, not reason to stop him anyway. Adsero’s head rolled to the side, something she did whenever something confused her. “What happened the cub thing you were talking to? I hope I didn’t case it off or anything.” She frowned a little. She was rude and obnoxious but she didn’t like to aggravate, scare, or make people sad if she could help it. Maybe she had just imagined the cub and the girl had been talking to herself. She couldn’t be certain though she knew she had been rude to interrupt and say something sarcastic when the girl had obviously been serious. In her mind it never helped to mope all the time but to interrupt someone was still rude and she was sorry for it. The girls small smile did set her a little at ease though and her mood lightened up a notch or two.

“I-I honestly don’t know… It… just disappeared. Maybe a spirit or a ghost of some sort. Or, I could have been seeing things, as did you. Mirages, maybe…” She shrugged her shoulder, quite unsure. She looked over at Harro once more before brushing off the seat of her pants with her palms. Then, she brushed her two hands together, knocking the sand off. She shrugged her shoulders and heaved a confused sigh. She wasn’t aggravated – just a bit on t he confused side. First, she had been talking to a ghost cub. Now, she was talking to a Guardian of Fire named Adsero and was watching Harro. Strange things were beginning to happen to her. Her left eye turned red, but her right one remained blue, which meant that her sire was listening in on their conversation. She grunted at that as if it would scare him away. She felt his presence in her mind, which annoyed her. She didn’t think many people would be able to tolerate having your mind being intruded on all the time and someone else doing your actions for you. Only rarely did that happen, though. She looked out at the water for a moment before returning her gaze back towards Adsero.

"Hmm. I thought those only happened in the desert..Oh well. It doesn't matter that much." Adsero looked at Ranewen's eyes, her head tilted to one side. "What's wrong with your eyes?"

“I’m possessed, if you will. A demon, inside of me. My sire. The one who made me like I am now.” She nodded her head as if she pitied herself and she shook her head, wishing she could just poke out her eye that turned red. With an aggravated sigh at the person that haunted her every footsteps. She then looked down at where the pup was laying and she shook her head. I must’ve looked so stupid… Talking to a mirage?!
