Title: Sweet Serenity
Tithy - May 1, 2006 03:10 PM (GMT)
Tithdaeron stood at the edge of one of the peers watching the wavs crash into the pillars extending below. It was dusk, and the sun was casting orange, yellow, and red blankets over the horizon. A light breeze blew in from the ocean, and carressed Tithdaeron's wings. He folded them against his body so that they would catch the wind and make it hard for him to stand.
What had happened last night? He couldnt remember. This was getting worse and worse. His other side had stopped talking to him ,as if planning, or plotting. Maybe it already had control? He had fought and won against Morte, but could not win against his more powerful, insane, chaotic self. Tithdaeron raised his hands to his face and stared at them distantly. They were covered with the scent of blood, human blood, animal blood, his blood. He had killed someone, something, or someones?
He shook his head as if a person were telling him this and he could not beleive it. The distant sound of feet on the wooden planks of the pier could be heard getting closer. Tithdaeron did not turn around to look. It might be a vamp hunter, it might be a freidly soul, or perhaps just a sailor on his way to his boat. Most people in Lomedor wouldnt dare aproach him anymore. He was now the guildmaster of the Children of Chaos, responsible for the assassinations of many and destruction of much. He was feared and respected. The footsteps drew closer. This person was definetly here for him...
Umbra - May 4, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
Umbra walked up to Tithdaeron. She stopped as he looked at the blood on his hands. "You like looking at the waves too?" she asked. She stood a few feet away. Waiting for him to say something. "Are you alright Sir?" she asked.
Tithy - May 4, 2006 04:33 PM (GMT)
Tithdaeron recognized the voice of Umbra. The seemingly young half-demon who had showed up and joined with the guild not long ago. There were newer members now, one of them being Silver, another vampire whom Tithdaeron hit it off with. Of course, he hit it off with most women, but, that was a different story. Tithdaeron knew that the half-demon was actuall much older. It made him respect her somehow.
"They are calming... call me Tithdaeron." replied Tithdaeron, without turning or moving. The breeze stopped, and the sun was nearly set. The orange, pink, and red was turning to pink and purple. The waves below were slowly turning to black and indigo. A particularaly large one hit the peir, it shook gently and sent a white spray upon the two observers.
Tithdaeron did not answer Umbra's second question. Of course he was not alright. That much was obvious. Tithdaeron grew hot with anger breifly and then calmed himself. It was not her fault. She did not know.
"Tell me about yourself. I dont know you well, and I feel I should. You are afterall in my guild."
Umbra - May 4, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
Umbra walked up beside him. She was wearing her cape with her hood down, the wind making it float in the breeze. She closed her eyes and sighed softly so he would not hear, speaking of herself always seemed to make her uneasy for some reason. She opened her eyes and looked out towards the ocean, suddenly feeling smaller. "I was born in Dori'ba, which is ironic considering it is a place of death. My parents were killed in a raid on our house that was organized by my father to kill my mother and I. Why or how I survived I do not know. I have pretty much lived on my own after that as a mercenary. I pretty much did whatever I was payed to do. Just recently I have actually made friends, guess its because I sort of left the life of a mercenary. To be honest after joining the guild I am starting to feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself." she said as she took a deep breath of ocean air as the sun began to slip under the horizon, the moon beginning to shine brighter as it did.
Tithy - May 5, 2006 03:32 PM (GMT)
Tithdaeron nodded and listened to Umbra's story intently. A former mercenary. That could be tough. People like that, their loyalties werent always the strongest. But they had strong souls, that indeed. However, Tithdaeron started to have doubts that the stereotype here applied to Umbra, when she talked about being a part of something bigger than herself.
It was true. The Children of Chaos was the sum of all parts, not about the individuals within. Of course, individuality mattered, but, when it came to aiding each other, Tithdaeron trusted most would give their life to save another fellow member. The cause of chaos was more than Tithdaeron could understand, or let alone like or love even. He only knew it was his purpose to carry this out.
"Tell me what you know about me. Do not hold anything back, even if you think it may be a mere rumor or hearsay. I am somewhat... curious, I suppose. Not many stick around to talk to me, but we both know why that is...
Tithdaeron sighed heavily. Yes, because I am a maniac killer without remorse. I can and will turn into a harbinger of doom for any enemy that I find, and sometimes when I please. I am a tool of this cause, and that is what I am used for.
Umbra - May 6, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
Umbra looked at him with a strange feeling, he seemed different than the last couple of times they met. 'Perhaps this is what they call 'true faces' she thought as she watched the sun slip fully under the horizon. "I do not mean to be hurtfull or anything. But I have heard terrible things about you. That you have killed people for no reason just to attack them. That you attack others without mercy, and destroy them. Others say that you always seem angry, there is always a shadow over you making you hurt those you love. And your enemies always die a painfull death." she paused looking out of the corner of her eye at him. "I know not if this is true, I do not know much about you. I have only known you as long as I have been in the guild. She sat on the peir her foot dangling just centimeters above the incoming waves, she held her other in a hug as she turned her head towards him. "What...Why do you always seem as if something is wrong? I've noticed that you always looked like there was a great pain on your shoulders that you carry every moment of the day. she said as she turned and rested her chin on her knee, 'Like I do. I carry a burden and it will never go away, I stay up all night wandering the world, knowing that this burden will haunt me forever.' she thought as she remembered the nightmares she has every night.
Tithy - May 6, 2006 01:44 AM (GMT)
Tithdaeron listened. The words that were supposed to hurt him bounced off and seemingly fell into the waters below with small splish-splashes, the smaller ones making spelunks. It fitted. It was... true. He knew it. Yes, that is me, when I lose myself in my lust and anger, when I embrace my truer chaotic nature instead of keeping this facade. Although, this is necesary, otherwise so many things would not be possible. Would they?
"I am responsible for the deaths of two people I loved greatly, two whom I would sacrifice my life for a thousand times. The first, the reason I am a vampire, the second, one whom raised me from self-destruction and repaired my torn soul..."
said Tithdaeron in answer to her question. He did not need to reply to the other statements. Those were heavily discussed and agreed upon already.
"... but in the process tore apart her own. Now I have a new love, and I feel some similar fate will befall her. Thats why I am here, thinking about it, trying to decide to put her off for her own safety. I love her, and would rather see her live than die, even if it meant living away from me."
Tithdaeron paused, and listened. Umbra was now slightly closer, and sitting on the edge of the peer. A flash of insanity broke through, and he giggled uncontrolably. "Hee hee..." Unfortunately for him, he did not even notice, and if approached, would likely realize he had done it, but not remembered it exactly.
Umbra - May 8, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
Umbra listened to his words, a slight feeling of jealosy came but it quickly subsided into a feeling similar to a mixture of pity and understanding. "Fate is a strange thing. She governs our destiny. And knows what we will do, and what will happen to us. But to ignore love to protect the ones you love... that can be the worst mistake that fate allows" she looked up at the sky. Now that the sun was down the moon grows brighter, she searched for the stars. "Love has always been non-existant for me. That is why I dont understand why if you love someone you have to let them go. It does not make any sence. I know that it may sound confusing but I don't think you should let her go. Love, real true love is very rare. If you love someone then you can't let them go. True love always persevers. I know that sounds cleched but it is true. I have seen it many times, just not with myself. I don't think you should leave them, but that is just me. Umbra found the first star that was comming out and closed her eyes and made a silent wish for Tithdaeron.
Tithy - May 8, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
Two addages both started to float around in Tithdaeron's mind when Umbra voiced her thoughts.
It is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
If you truly love somone, you will let them go for their own good.
Both powerful, both with their reasonings, advantages, disadvantages, so was the chaos that so perfectly described Tithdaeron himself. Which was which? Both were so thoroughly mixed now he could not tell. What Umbra said struck him as true. Perhaps something could be done. Maybe fate, or destiny, did want him to keep this person close. Maybe it was for him to lose every lover he came by, to keep him in his miserable state, never to heal, never to complete himself. In constant chaos, from the beginning to the end.
Stars were now beginning to appear in the night sky. Tithdaeron felt... safe. Night. The vampires' domain. Tithdaeron turned himself into a shadow. Their the silhoutte stood at the edge of the pier with a new companion, a counsel, someone to confide in. "Thank you." said Tithdaeron, and melted into the darkness.
Umbra - May 9, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
Umbra smiled as he melted into the shadows around them. She knew she had helped him as best she could and knew that only he could decide the path to travel, wether to keep this person close or send them away. The choice had to be his. "You are always welcome." she said as he left. Her foot got hit by a wave and she shuddered a little. 'Tonight is not a good time to be going swimming. There are places I must be. She thought as she got up. "Perhaps another day, when my burden will not weigh me down. she said as she walked off the peir and into the night as more stars and more wishes appeared making the stars grow stronger with light.
