Title: .: A Little Learning :.
Description: .Private for Daemona.

Shyam - April 13, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
Water brushed over her bare feet, her simple attire pulled up around the woman's knees. Though she seemed easy prey, the woman had her dagger hidden, safely tucked away in one of the folds of her dress. A small laugh escaped her lips as a fish brushed past her. She moved from one rock to another until she returned to the shore. Leaving her feet in the water, she sat on the shore. Shyam moved her body back, leaning on her elbows. her dark gaze flickered to the tops of the rocks, watching the water begin its descent into the pool at the bottom. She began to drift off to sleep, darkness touching the corners of her vision.

Immediately, she sat up. She could not allow herself to fall asleep again. No, she had seen the ending of that story, and it was not her favorite. She cupped her hands, submerging them under water before lifting them to her face. She needed to wake up -- perhaps this cold water was exactly what she needed. After she was satisfied with her alertness, she pulled her feet from the water, crossing them beneath her. She began to make shapes in the soft earth -- attempting to remember her schooling from previous years. She needed to preserve the ability to read and write -- what better time than now? After all, she was alone.

Daemona - April 14, 2006 12:00 AM (GMT)

Daemona landed on the grass a short ways away from the river, still nursing her throbbing cheek. When she transformed to Human form, she still had scales lining part of her face where she'd fallen and hit a sharp bone on the way down earlier.
She brushed her cloak back over her shoulders for once, and stretched out, her arms and legs tingling from the movement.

I wish these stupid scales would go away already for God's sake....I look awful! All I wanted to do was wander in peace and this is what I get?!
Daemona kicked the grass at her feet, sending a piece of turf far off into the distance. She kept forgetting she needed to be careful with how much force she used on things....She began to wander in the direction of the river, careful not to fall on anything on the way.
I wonder who that girl was...She was certainly strange looking...Although my definition of strange is a bit...off. I wond--
Once again, Daemona tripped and fell, landing on her face and hitting a rock in the same place the bone had nearly stabbed her.
Damn. Can't I just NOT hurt myself for once in my life??
Daemomna went to the river and splashed some of the cool water on her face, completely forgetting to check and see if anyone was there before she did so. When sh looked up, she saw feet. Again.

Shyam - April 20, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
Shyam was concentrating on a new spread for her cards, her mind turning over the cards of her imagination -- she had left the actual cards where she was temporarily staying. Instead, she was using her mind to attempt a reading. Of course, she had not developed telepathic abilities, so this was somewhat difficult. She focused on the details of the card as she turned them over, one by one -- reading the meanings behind them. She was in the midst of this when her concentration was disturbed. Immediately the cards fell away from the front layer of her mind. Naturally, she was aggrivated.

She swiped her hand across the markings in the dirt, erasing all proof of their existence, before moving near silently towards the direction the noise came from. She saw a young woman before the river, apparently washing her face. Shyam let out an audible sigh -- filled somewhat with relief, yet still holding some annoyance. She watched the girl for a moment before deciding to approach. May as well see what she wants, eh? She walked over, attempting to put on at least a believable attempt of a smile. She felt the corners of her lips turn upwards, and began walking over towards her.
"Can I help you?" She hoped her voice did not sound too irritated, and waited, watching the girl carefully.

Daemona - May 1, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)

Although Daemona was hardly a girl, as the young woman seemed to suspect,
she was semi-grateful for the young one's interest.

"...No. I am fine. Just don't look too closely at my face, and you'll never know a thing."
Daemona looked up at the young lady and looked into her face, being careful to cover the scaled spot
with her hand, although a few red scales peeked out underneath.

God, I hope she doesn't notice the scales...No, I pray she doesn't notice the scales.....No one knows who I am here,
and the fewer people who DO know, the better.

Daemona looked around her for a moment, seeing the grass behind her and the water in front of her..
[i]It really is a beautiful place...Reminds me of home, ya? I love it here, whether I'm going to say it out loud or not..

Daemona looked at the young woman and waited for her response...
