Evinnian looked down at his cloak as he walked. It felt strange; it had been so long since he had been walking in the daytime without it. But such a bright and sunny day had managed to lure him out from under the hooded garment. The elf actually felt a bit silly, for previously lying in the sun had caused a slight case of sunburn on his behalf. Evinnian found it to be rather annoying; it seemed as if each time he touched his arm someone was sticking him with a hundred needles.
Evinnian stopped and looked up at the sun. It was still shining brightly; not quite ready to hide behind the horizon. He set his yellow cloak down on the ground, and set off towards the water. Once he had reached the banks, he let the water wash around his legs. He was rather tired, and was not quite in the mood to go for a swim. Besides, too much movement cause the needles to come pricking at him again.
Damn... Evinnian thought. Mentally quoting his favorite word.
His peace did not last long, for he suddenly heard a loud thump. Some of the sand on the ground shook, and Evinnian turned to look behind him. The rocks blocked whatever had made the noise, but Evinnian was still greatly disturbed.
"What on Arda could have made that kind of noise?" Evinnian questioned, speaking to himself. Suddenly the thump came again, but it was much louder. From this point the thumps continued to sound in a steady pattern, causing Evinnian to grow paranoid. The rocks were still blocking the source of the noise, so he ran to grab his sword, which was lying next to the cloak. Horror filled his eyes as he grabbed his sword; for as he looked up, he saw the bodies of many beasts running towards him.
"Dragons..." Evinnian whispered to himself. They were dragons, but to be more specific, they were Raptalons. Evinnian turned around to look for a place to run, but he realized that there was no point.
But, Evinnian thought, what is making that noise?
Evinnian then saw the source of the loud sounds as the head of an enormous dragon appeared above the rocks. A loud roar sounded as an elder dragon swiftly flew over the elf's head and out to sea. This was obviously what the Raptalons were running from, but it appeared that it had no intention of stopping. Evinnian sighed and turned back around; relieved that he would not have to deal with such a fierce dragon.
Suddenly Evinnian looked up, just as a Raptalon jumped in front of him. Evinnian swung his sword, managing to block a terrible bite to the face. Evinnian took about five steps back, and looked around him. They were everywhere, and there had to be about 20 of them.
I didn't know dragons traveled in packs, Evinnian thought as he lifted up his sword. Why did I insist on traveling alone today?
Jen watched the elf get surrounded by dragons and grew worried. She had been watching him from a hill neary by. The vampiress was walking by and noticed his predicament. She was worried that he would die or get hurt.
That poor elf is in trouble. I dont know if i can help or not...i dont think i can... She thought to herself. A vampiress cant take on all those dragons by herself if they decided to attack only me...there has to be some kind of a diversion...to allocate the situtation...but I have to get home...they werent here when I walked by earlier...niether was the elf for that matter...oh I dont know what to do...
She thought about the matter at hand...whether to help or not. After a moment of thinking she started to walk towards them. Her house was not to far from here and in order to get there she needed to...get through this. She could try to help if he needed it...but doubted that she would be much of it.
"Hooray more dragons...I need to get home..." Jen sighed. "...I dont think I will be going out for walks for while..."
She walked behind some of the dragons and they quickly noticed her. Some of them tried to slash they're claws at her but she swiftly dodged them. Jen started to run as fast as she could...she had no weapon to defend herself....that was left behind at her house.
"Help! Help me!" Jen called out. "I cant last like this forever! I dont have a weapon to defend myself! Someone please help me!"
She continued to dodge the dragons attempts to kill her and waited for some help. Which better be soon because she was getting tired fast!
Spyro, in half transformed form, glided above the sea with his eyes narrowed against the air resistance. Because they were narrowed his vision was somewhat obscured and he could have sworn that that great tangle of dots moving towards him very fast were dragons. He shook his head and grinned, he was imagining it. Well naturally he was about to be porved wrong, very quickley. As the dragons drew closer his eyes widned in realisation and he ducked down and then dodged to the side between the dragons who apparently didn't care who he was or what he was doing.
"Hey stop hogging the sky!" he yelled at them.
As they passed by him Spyro turned round to watched them speed away.
"Gods above what was all that about" he muttered "you'd think they were bieng chased by something huge"
Spyro shook his head, turned round, yelled and spirraled downwards as the gigantic form flew over him after the other dragons.
"I could be wrong" he muttered "but I think I've found it somehow"
He turned back about and heared several yells from the beach.
"Help! Help me! I cant last like this forever! I dont have a weapon to defend myself! Someone please help me!"
Spyro rolled his eyes.
"Oh boy" he muttered "here I go playing the hero again"
He flew forewards towards the source of the noise blowing out a couple of fireballs from his nostrils which flew into each hand. As he came closer to the coast he dived down, outstreached both hands and fired fireball after fireball in the dragon's path blocking them off from Jen. He landed lightly between them drawing his sword.
"Hello" he said smiling "funny how we keep running into each otherisn't it?"
The dragons on the ground snorted at him.
"Hey" said Spyro annoyed "if you want your dinner pick on somebody your own intelligence"
The dragons on the ground snapped at him snarling threateningly.
"Oh don't give me all that nonsense" Spyro said "if you want to go hunt something try hutning something that doesn't happen to have a half dragon as a friend nearby, don't talk to me about racial rights"
The dragons's tempers gave and they literally yelled at Spyro and leaped at him simultaniousley.
"Though you'd say that" said Spyro.
He raised a hand surrounded in a fireball and a flaming wall rose infront of him throwing the dragons back, they bounced on the ground then quickley regained their composure fixing their gaze on Spyro.
"Hey you attacked me first" said Spyro pointing a sword at them.
Jen thought she was doomed until she heard a familar voice.
"Hello" he said smiling "funny how we keep running into each otherisn't it?"
"Spyro! Oh, thank god! Thanks for coming to my rescue." Jen smiled back at the half-dragon. "I should have known you'd be around somewhere nearby."
The vampiress watched him battle it out with the various dragons. All she could do was watch and wait for it to be over.
"Come on, Spyro you can do it." Jen cheered.
She then turned to the elf and asked,"Are you alright?...oh. You look at little sun-burned." The vampiress said looking at his burns. "Ouch."
Jen looked at him and wait to see what happened next.
