Title: Returning home
Description: Open

Dengar - April 2, 2006 06:29 PM (GMT)
Dengar was slightly nervous. His entire life he had been separated from this place and it had most likely changed a lot since he had been away from it. It was not his fault entirely that he had not visited there in over half a century, but the blame did eventually lie on his shoulders. He had moved away from there to sample the new and exotic flavours of other creatures, planning to return soon. But after visiting many other places he realised that there were so many things to eat - he had to try them all! And then as time went by, his past by the Lhachlith Volcano had been forgotten and shoved to one side as he explored the other lands of Arda.

But he had returned. He had began to miss it and decided that he was due to return back to his homeland. He only had one fear, that being his family. The last time he saw them their relationship was at a meltdown. He so badly wanted to be re-united with them and forgiven so this was his main reason for returning. He trudged slowly over the rocky and desolate grounds searching for where his family might be nested. He screeched out a cry for recognition. If any other Lizarian had heard it they would reply.

Silence.

He screeched again and this time there was a slight hint of desperateness in his plea. The Volcano was completely and utterly silent except from the faint hissing and bubbling noises coming from the lava inside of it. Dengar continued walking, then broke into a run scanning the volcano for any signs of life. His eyes began to water as the steam issuing out of the volcano was quite dense. But that was not the only reason. He could see something in the distance, something horrific. There were carcasses littering the volcano floor like a rooftop covered in snow. There were hundreds of them and they were far from indistinguishable.

He walked towards the nearest one and flicked it over with his foot. It was the skeleton of a Lizarian facing him with it's jaw open wide with a pained expression. A single tear dropped from Dengar's eye and landed on the volcano floor, instantly evapourating. He moved towards the next one and the next one, all of them were the remains of Lizarians. An eruption from the volcano? No! It couldn't of been, the skeletons would not still be here. Dengar looked down towards the ground and saw something which explained it all.

A human skeleton lay curled up holding a spear.

Dengar roared the loudest roar he had ever done. Not a screech, not a growl but a tremendous powerful roar. He stamped on the skeletons head crushing it into powder and kicked at the body. He missed as the tears in his eyes were obscuring his vision. He collapsed defeated on the floor and wept bitterly. 'The humans would pay for this!' he vowed.
