Title: Dravach and Alzon VS Avennian and Yumi
Description: Round 1 - Battle 3 - Arena 3

Avénnian - March 28, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
Avennian stepped into the arena from its ground entrance; two large double-doors that loomed over the participants as they entered.

Boom!

The doors shut behind the elf as he advanced. The sound did not startle him, and he continued without missing a beat. The elf's indigo eyes moved slowly as he observed the walls of the arena. No getting out of here, he thought. Not that he intended to run away, he was merely noticing the extremes that were taken to make sure that fighters could not run away at any time. At least, that is what he presumed they were for. It was possible that the walls simply served the purpose of supporting the stands in which spectators enjoyed the fight. Avennian had never in his life been in a tournament. In fact, it was very unlike him to do so. However, the elf needed money; which was his hopes for the prize winnings. That is, if he was able to defeat his opponents.

His eyes settled upon the sights of the arena. He chuckled to himself, "How ironic, a church." Being a cleric, Avennian found it oddly suitable that he would be fighting near a church. It was broken down and had no roof; as Avennian observed as he neared the building. Nevertheless, it was a church.

Avennian did not see any of the other fighters, and sat down on the ground in front of the church. There was no need to waste energy. He sighed heavily, for truly he wished for this battle to end as soon as possible. He had not bothered to pull all of his hair behind the band on his head, and he let it hang loosely in his eyes. The jewels on his clothes gleamed, and seemed to mingle with his similarly colored eyes. Avennian could detect no particular smell from this place, for to him it seemed to smell about as normal as any air.

"I wonder where Yumi is," Avennian said, thinking of his friend. He sub-consciously fiddled with the charm on his arm, looking up at the sky as he did this. Avennian was not at all afraid of losing because of his lack of abilities, but he was definitely afraid for Yumi's health. Who wouldn't be afraid for a friend in a situation such as this? Avennian did not know the extent of her abilities, but he decided that the best he could do was trust her and believe that they would pull through. Still, the feeling of a need to protect was something that Avennian had developed during his lifetime, and such could very well be his greatest weakness in this battle.

Lef - March 28, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
Alzon strutted into the area with a smirk on his face although; it couldn’t be seen with the bandages that covered his face. He wanted to kill so badly his body almost shook in excitement. The thought of hearing a clerics scream bloody murder thrilled him to the point he slightly drooled. As he advanced towards the church he saw something sitting on the ground. What fool would be sitting when he is in a battle?

He didn’t give a rats ass why beings did the things they did, for he much rather see their dead bodies hanging from burnt trees. Just like he knew not whom he was paired up with, if he won or lost, it would still come to the main fact that he would kill whoever he was teamed up with. Alzon didn’t care about team work, he was stubborn and felt like he needed the help of no one.

As he came closer to the church; the features of being became more vivid. Alzon could tell it was an elf by his ears.

Whipping his dagger out, Alzon held the tip of the blade gingerly. He moved the blade back in forth in front of his eyes, to try to be intimidating. His eyes became slits as a hiss screeched out from Alzon when he sprinted at the cleric a fast as his feet could push him.

Then coming within three feet of the cleric, he stopped and realized that he was alone. This was a team match, where was his partner? It was no fun to kill if the mans partner couldn’t watch in horror. Alzon lowed his dagger, then sped into the church. It was huge, and if there was a roof on the church, Alzon would be very uncomfortable, then as he ventured father into the church he realized that one could be lost if he wasn’t careful. He opened one of the doors and quickly stepped in, hoping that the team after him would see him hiding. Alzon felt around and all the space was close together, this much be the closet, Alzon thought to himself.

Yumi - March 28, 2006 05:42 AM (GMT)
Yumi walked fast, almost in skip to the arena’s doors. Although she was happy she would met her friend Avennian again, she couldn’t help but worry that blood would be spilled today. She came to terms with herself, this was a battle and sure some blood would spill, she would just have to make sure that she did her best not to kill. Yumi never killed, nor did she ever plan to. For it wasn’t her place to take the life of anyone, she left that up to the gods.

As she looked around she spotted a church, but something was different about it. Tilting her head to the side in confusion, Yumi walked slower to the church and as she came upon it, to her surprise that there was no roof. I wonder if Avennian has entered the church, Yumi said to herself quietly. And then she saw someone and realized it was Avennian. With a smile she waved and sped up her pace. She was so glad to see a kind, and friendly face.

Yumi took out her spear and used it as a walking stick as she came closer. Reaching out, she touched Avennian’s shoulder and smiled, "are you ready?" Yumi hoped he was ready, that would mean one of them was. The half breed wasn’t in any rush to inflict pain on anything, but if she had to hurt for the sake of friendship, then so be it.

Dravach - March 28, 2006 03:44 PM (GMT)
Dravach slipped slowly into the arena with a thin smile curled across his lips. His tattered black robes blew slightly in the breeze, and his frayed hood hung limply over most of his withered face. He laughed to himself as he saw his opponents, an elf sitting peacefully on the floor completely unprepared for the pain he would soon be experiencing, and a feeble looking half angel who was standing next to him. As he eyed the two he decided that this battle should be fairly easy to win, and most probably a lot of fun to participate in. Having his opponents as good aligned only made the fight more entertaining for him.

However Dravach's attention was only with this maiden and her sidekick for a brief period of time, as his gaze was soon attracted by the broken-down church in the centre of the arena. Realizing that the church was obviously now unused he saw no reason for blood to be spilt on its grounds. It was colossal and as he walked past his two opponents he entered the church and looked around it in awe. Dravach first checked behind him to see if he was being followed or not then quickly ran through the nearest door.

As he opened it he met a long corridor which seemed to stretch forwards for at least twenty feet, and had several other corridors branching off of it. He moved quickly (but didn't run) through the corridor and took a right soon finding that it was a dead end. Obviously it wasn't before but the ceiling seemed to of caved in and blocked off the rest of the corridor. Memorizing this dead end he went back to the starting corridor and continued along it. He decided to check what was behind some of the doors hoping to find his team mate, but instead finding a staircase leading upwards. "Perfect!" He mumbled to himself as he rapidly climbed it.

Tactics where the key for winning a battle, and tactics were what Dravach was made from. The first rule of combat, always gain the upper ground. As he reached the top of the stairs he cast 'Superior Monster Summoning' and summoned four black spiders. Their eight legs were thin and spindly and their many eyes bulging and slimy. These were not normal spiders; they were at least ten times the size, reaching the grand height of Dravach's thighs. They may not have been big but they would carry out the task he needed of them very well. "Listen carefully spiders! I need two of you to guard these stairs and the other two to find the next nearest stairs. You two will do. When you get there I need you to spin a thick web and block off the entry. Anyone is allowed to pass except from half angels and Elves. Do you understand me?" He barked at them in a harsh tone. He turned to the remaining spiders as the others scuttled away and spoke, "I want you two to do the same thing with this staircase. DO NOT LET ANY HALF ANGELS OR ELVES PASS!" He shouted. He was taking this very seriously and was determined to win.

As the spiders began to weave their web of doom, Dravach continued to pace up and down the corridor thinking hurriedly. He needed to find out who the other member of his team was as soon as possible. For all he knew they could be a half angel or elf as well, but he strongly doubted. He hoped that they would be neutral or evil aligned as he would dread to work with anyone holy. He dreaded working with anyone full stop but if they were evil, well at least it would give him some mild comfort.

Avénnian - March 29, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
((OOC: Dravach, Avennian is a Male elf. Not a female; you called him a maiden))

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avennian's eyes became alert as he heard a loud hiss from his right. His head responded quickly, as he turned to spot the source of the noise. Someone, or something was running to him. Avennian just looked at it indifferently with his eyes, and did not even bother to move. This being was slow, at least in comparison to him. If need be, he could easily whip out his sword and cut the thing. Avennian's hand moved closer to Thranduil as the thing; now clearly a man; came within a closer range. But suddenly he stopped. Avennian's eyes were unchanging, for he felt absolutely no threat from this man.

As the man darted into the church, Avennian yawned. He was just beginning to wonder where Yumi was when he felt something touch his shoulder.

"Are you ready?" Avennian recognized the voice and smiled as he stood to see his battle partner. He bowed, which was a custom of his, and replied, "Yes, I am." He adjusted the sword on his hip and continued, "Shall we head into the church?" Avennian was actually quite bored, but he was ready, nevertheless. He was preparing a plan of action in his head as he felt something poke at his side.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Avennian lifted up a white garment that was tied around his waist, and reached his hand under it. When he pulled it out, he was holding a small white dove. The dove perched onto Avennian's finger as the elf held up his arm. "Heilin," he said, "You cannot stay here with me. It is against the rules for me to use you in any way." Most people obviously would have wondered what one could do with a dove in battle, but Avennian most certainly had his ways. "Go to the stands." he said as he flung his arm upwards; the dove flying high above him to perch at the top of the stands.

Just as he did this, Avennian noticed something walking behind him. "Yu-" he said, cutting himself off. He realized that Yumi was still there, and that another had proceeded into the church. He knew that both of their opponents were now in the church, and decided that he needed another plan. The openings of his eyes thinned as he began to think, soon softly speaking to Yumi as he thought of a new course of action ,"Perhaps we should head to the back of the church. There will probably be another way in from there. His fear was simply being ambushed by their opponents, and he looked at Yumi patiently as he waited for her reply. Avennian felt no need to rush things, for he felt doing so could cause disaster to their team.

Lef - March 29, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Alzon heard doors being opened, and by fear of being seen by the other team made him sink into the shadows deeper; that was until he heard footsteps above him. The curiously was too much to bare so gingerly her gripped for the handle, and pushed his way out of the damp, dark, and very uncomfortable closet. Stretching, his back cracked as he looked at his surroundings he spotted a stairway. But what was this, over sized spiders? Alzon walked to the rail to see a closer look, these were unnatural creatures, and they were soon to become ignored. I have no time to waste with these spiders, Alzon said in his head harshly as he jumped up on the rail.

The rail was wide, perfect for sliding down or climbing up. Alzon started to rush up the stair rail, it was a hard feet and from time to time his feet would cave under him for the wood was old. But it didn’t stop his determination, so he pressed upwards until he came to the landing and very sloppy jumped up just to land on his feet then fall on his knees. The jeering pain made Alzon clench his teeth, “damn spiders,” he said quietly. The anger from the web being blocked made the demon so mad that he actually spoke.

Snapping himself upwards he glared at the being who paced back in froth and instantly blaming him from the spiders. Alzon snatched up his dagger and pointed the blade at the being, “I take it you wish to die? Pulling a stunt like that with the spiders and all, I should kill both you and the bloody beasts.” But then he thought that this man might be is team member, although he had plans on killing him later, he didn’t want to kill him too soon. Maybe start out with the cleric then move on the whoever so bravely joined up with the cleric, and last but not least, this person.

With a sigh he put his dagger away, there were plenty of times he could dip his dagger in the blood of these ‘holy men’. “My name is Alzon...are you my......Partner?” Those last words came up with great strain, the thought of even having a partner was sick. Alzon hoped that this teamwork would soon end and he could go back into a chaos driver demon.

Yumi - March 29, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
Yumi was surprised that her partner had a dove hidden because she always wanted to pet the fine feathers of the white bird. Her father used to tell stories about how doves always seemed to follow her mother, and when they weren’t following, they were watching her. Sometimes, Yumi would look over her shoulder to see if one of those awesome birds were watching over her too, but so far none was found gazing upon her. With a bright smile Yumi spoke to her friend, “you’ll have to introduce me to your dove someday.”

My friend...she thought to herself as she gazed upon him. He looked so much different in sunlight is was amazing, much unlike then the darkness from the inn or the roof cover from them temple. His brightness from being in elf made Yumi see his handsome features. Yumi caught herself staring at her friend which made her quickly look to the right as someone walked in the old church.

That must be one of our opponents, she thought to herself in awe that she didn’t get a good look at him. But somehow she felt like their opponents will be very strong; at least its odor was strong as she seemed to string up her nose.

Nodding in agreement Yumi knew if their opponents went in one way, it would be wise to go in another way. “Yes, lets go to the back, I’m sure there is a backdoor...since there is a front door,” Yumi chuckled nervously, she wasn’t in any rush to fight so she stalled a bit, “we could always find a window, or climb the ro-,” a dumbfounded look landed on her face as she grinned in remembrance that there was no roof. At least that is what it looked like a few yards back.

Dravach - March 29, 2006 08:01 PM (GMT)
Dravach looked up and saw a demon clawing his way through his spider's webs, muttering curses under his breath. He assumed that this demon was in fact his partner as he had already seen his enemies. "Partner. Yes I am not too fond of it's meaning either." He spoke firmly to the creature. He was glad to have him as his partner. If he had had the female fool of the boy blunder he would have probably killed them on the spot there and then.

Dravach stopped pacing the hallway and stared the demon in the eye. According to the list, his name was Alzon. "Alzon," he spoke solemnly and calmly, "I have cornered off at least one stair case, and hopefully the other. If my spider pals you bumped into spot any half angels or elves, they are instructed to attack and the commotion will no doubt attract our attention. Then we will have the upper ground making attack much easier. I was about to go and look for any heavy objects that we could possibly push down the stairs to crush them. Are you prepared to kill Demon?" Dravach ended.

He assumed that the demon would be a ravenous-unforgiving-bloodthirsty-monster, but of course he could be wrong. He hoped he wasn't though as he would get on with him slightly better if he was evil.

Dravach was thinking what kind of objects might be lying around inside of an old ruined church. An Altar? Most like fixed to the ground in someway. An Organ? Too big and heavy too move. Maybe...maybe they could find a small bookcase to use as an obstacle. Not a big grand master bookcase, but just a small wooden book holder. But would there be one inside the ruin? Dravach hoped there was, it was the only idea he had at the moment.

Avénnian - March 30, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
Avennian nodded at Yumi's reply, and turned to walk around the side of the church. The elf almost pitied the building as he looked at how raggedy and broken down it truly was. Would have probably been a very nice church, the elf thought.

Judging by the way their opponents had rushed into the church so quickly, there was absolutely no doubt in Avennian's mind that they were planning something. Of course, since this was a battle, that's what they should be doing. But, they had to be planning a trap of somekind. For if not, why wouldn't they have just attacked he and Yumi upon sight? "Be careful," Avennian said to Yumi; his own eyes and ears being in a stage of alertness.

As Avennian reached the end of that side of the church, he slowly peered around the corner at the building's back wall. This building was much larger than it had appeared upon his first view, but it was no matter. Avennian motioned for Yumi to follow him as he turned the corner to proceed to finding a back way in. Sure enough, there was a door. In fact, there were even two windows, one on each side of the door. The door and windows were extremely dusty, as was evident in their warped color of a dirty light brown shade. The windows weren't completely covered with glass, for some on each of them had been knocked out. However, there was enough to block a safe entrance through them, so Avennian reached his hand to the door.

"Gods!" Avennian whispered after he slowly attempted to turn the handle; but it was locked. He had been careful to be very quiet, but he was quite upset that the door had to be locked. "Why?" Avennian said; halfway speaking to himself. "Why did it have to be locked?" He turned to see if Yumi was still behind him, speaking, "What should we do now?"

Lef - March 30, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
Alzon squinted at this new person, off and on his hand twitched to pull out his dagger and stab this boy in the heart a few times. He loathed people giving him orders, and this creatures mouth was becoming a bore. With a snort, Alzon shifted his weight on one side of his hip as he crossed his arms. If this human, elf or whatever it was thought his spiders were going to stop a threat, then maybe this creature was sillier then he looked. Since going past the web with such ease, he guessed that almost anyone could do the same thing.

“Are you prepared to kill Demon?” Those words ringed in Alzon’s ears like swords clashing together, anger filled his eyes as he clenched his teeth. Is this creature foolish enough to question a demon if they can kill without second thoughts? Alzon thought to himself; wandering if this man was really brave or really foolish. The hilt of his dagger was so close to his fingertips he could almost feel it; and if they were not on the same team, Alzon would lunge at the poor fool. But that was okey, he would just have to remember to finish the job later.

The demon turned his back on the man as he looked over the banister. “You know, I’m not found of quick deathssss,” Alzon said with a slight hiss in his voice. The demon liked to leave his victims in much pain as possible, so they could feel the endless pain he felt. The never healing scar on his mouth that he always covered up, unless he had to show it. Everyday, his wound reminded him of the torment he went though as a child, so he lives his life to make everyone else live in torment. To give someone a quick death is a blessing, but to kill them slowly is a curse yet; to Alzon, giving pain somewhat lessens the torment he goes though.

Shooting a sharp look at the being, Alzon glared at him with hate. “If your going to be on this team alive, you’ll do what I tell you to do,” he said as he was slightly shaking from rage, “You will call off your monsters, and you will kill with as much pain inflected as possible, and you will not give me any lip.” Alzon snapped his head around and looked down at the banister again. Even the small thought of having creatures to your dirty work was very sick for Alzon loved to get his hands messy. His stomach growled as the constant reminded of a fool for a teammate he had been left with.

Yumi - March 30, 2006 02:49 AM (GMT)
Yumi followed close to her friend, so close that she could swear she heard his breaths. And if Avennian were to take a step backwards, surely he would have knocked into Yumi. The half breed walked on the balls of her feet, trying not to make a sound but the hard dirt couldn’t be helped as her feet crunched down upon them.

The church was way bigger then she first saw it, I hope we don’t get lost, Yumi said to herself as walked behind her friend. Then stopping to peer over the corner, Yumi tried to see over Avennian but he was just too tall for such an action. The half breed continued to follow him until they reached the back of the church. Her dark eyes brightened as she saw the door, hope that they might be able to win this match after all filled her heart. Yumi wondered why the church was so dirty that not even Yumi’s big eyes could see past the grim. But then her smiled turned into a frown as Avennian found the door to be locked. Yumi sighed and started to look for something else; anything else that would allow them to enter the church. But nothing was in view so Yumi started to walk the other way along the church walls.

Quickly, she felt a tug as her ankle and felt herself falling down then feeling a harsh pain on her jaw. Pushing herself up, she sat on the ground with her leg entangled with something. Rubbing her jaw with one hand she started to brush off dirt on this wood like, pole? Untangling leg she grabbed the ‘poles’ of the structure and lifted it up till it was standing; and to her surprise she held a ladder. A wide smile whipped across her face as she leaned the ladder against the wall.

Yumi looked behind her to see if Avennian was still there or not, “lets use this ladder to climb up. Maybe we can find a landed or something.” Her voice was quiet, yet filled with excitement that maybe, just maybe that all hope wasn’t lost. And if the ladder didn’t work, they could always try to front door, even if it was betting on chance.

Dravach - March 30, 2006 04:34 PM (GMT)
“You will call off your monsters, and you will kill with as much pain inflected as possible, and you will not give me any lip.”

Dravach struggled to keep a straight face. Sure the demon could fight him, and maybe if Dravach was having a bad day the Alzon could win. But Dravach was not having a bad day. If there was one thing he hated more than anything else it was cockiness. It really annoyed him when someone instantly assumed they were a more powerful creature than you and would instantly beat you in a fight. Looking at the Alzon he realised he did have potential. But judging him on the spot, he was at quite a young age for a demon, much younger than himself, and with age comes experience.

As he spoke he noticed the warped scar he had on his mouth. Probably some kind of souvenir from a lost battle. Hopefully it taught him a lesson or two. "Three things for you. One, I will NOT do what you say just because your angry. Two, do not judge the spiders until they have proved themselves. They are poisonous and were instructed specifically not to attack you. And thirdly, I love what you've done with your hair, suits you." He spoke with a grin. Just because they were 'evil' it didn't mean they had to be humourless.

He wondered were abouts his opponents were. Probably still trying to find an entrance to the church. Turning his attention back to the demon he decided to prove to him what he could do and transformed himself into an almost exact replica of Alzon. Almost exact as his new form was slightly fatter and had much goofier teeth. He grinned at the demon waiting to find out his reaction.[/

Avénnian - March 30, 2006 09:49 PM (GMT)
Avennian peered through the windows of the church. If we jump through these windows, we will give away our location. Avennian thought hard as he tried to decide on a good way to enter the church. I suppose we could go back to the front entrance, but they could be waiting for us. If we come in through here, it's highly unlikely that they will be waiting. No, they would have no way of knowing that we were here until they heard the crash of the windows. By the time they find us, we could probably find a place to hide. At least until we have a plan of action.

Avennian stepped back from the window, for he had decided to jump through it. But he suddenly heard a soft thump on the ground. "Yumi?" he whispered as he looked to his left. He watched as she pulled a ladder from the ground, and his eyes widened with excitement. It was almost as if she had done this magically.

"lets use this ladder to climb up. Maybe we can find a landed or something.”

Avennian smiled and nodded. He walked over to her, all the while thinking of their meeting at the temple. She thought she was bad luck back then, but from what I can see it is quite the contrary. Avennian reached for the ladder, "Yumi, let me climb up first to make sure that everything's clear." This was Avennian's usual chivalry, for he truly wanted to be sure that no harm would come to her as they reached the top of the ladder.

Without waiting for a reply, Avennian began to climb the ladder. He climbed slowly, for he did not know how old the ladder was; it was possible that it could simply break right out from under him. When the elf reached the top of the ladder, he looked over the wall down into the church.

Avennian instantly turned to whisper to Yumi, "They're here." He turned to peer down into the church once again. He could see the upper level of the church, and standing there were their opponents. He was careful not to make any noise, which was actually quite easy for him when one considered the graceful nature of the elves. Avennian continued to look at them, observing their behavior. Then the elf's eyes sparkled as he saw one of them transform into...

"One of them can transform." Avennian whispered. Then he began to think, This could definitely cause trouble for us. If that one tries to transform into either I or Yumi, then we could possibly fall into a difficult situation. Avennian climbed back down the ladder and looked at Yumi as he drew his sword. The elf then proceeded to pull up the sleeve of his arm, and he cut himself. "Yumi " he said. "When the time comes, remember that I have this cut on my arm." Avennian put a small cloth over the cut to prevent bleeding and pulled his sleeve back down and looked at the half-angel again. "It is not necessary for you to do this." Avennian said, for he did not want her to cut herself, "If the time comes for me to choose between you and a transformation, then I will find a way." He then looked back up at the ladder and gripped his sword, clearly indicating that he was ready to head into battle.

Lef - March 31, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
Alzon did everything in his power to keep for strangling his team mate as he turned to glare at him. With a sigh he realized her need to relax, and be patient. But he wasn’t the one to say sorry, and the last thing out of the creature’s mouth almost made Alzon chuckle. Oh how the demon wanted to ‘wipe’ that grin off of him with his glinting dagger.

Alzon sat down and rested his back against the banister. Then, looking up he noticed that the man looked similar to him, but he had all the good looking features wrong. So he is a shape shifter, Alzon thought to himself, you’d think he could do it right. Soon he realized that he was father being made fun of then not being able to shape shift right. This only made the demon more angry, so he look pasted him to ignore him. That when he thought he saw someone peeking over the wall. Just as he blinked the head was gone, so they has finally found a way, Alzon thought to himself as he gave a hidden smirk. He stood up and stretched, the first thing they would attack would be thing person closet to the wall, and it was funny that his opponent was the closet thing to the wall. Alzon wasn’t going to tell his team mate what happened, he wanted to see just what this shape shifter can do besides play with spiders and look like an idiot.

Yumi - March 31, 2006 06:49 PM (GMT)
As Avennia climbed up, Yumi held the ladder still. Although the ladder was old it seemed to be holding the weight of the elf. Of all times this would be one time that she wished she could fly up and see, but her wings were just too small. Thoughts raced thought her mind, what if he gets spotted, I don’t want to see him hurt. Her eyes squinted from the sunlight, then heard him whisper, “they’re here. One of them can transform."Uh oh, Yumi thought to herself as she could only imagine how trickery could tip the scales of this battle. They would have to use their wits to pull though. The heat from the sun formed a few drops of sweat on her forehead. Instantly she whipped them away as she peered up just to see the elf start to climb back down. Moving out of his way, her ears were straining to hear as many ideas he could come up with. Just what is the plan, Yumi thought to herself as her smile disappeared when Avennian reached for his sword. Her bight black eyes widen in shock to see her team mate cut himself. If it were not her own hand covering her mouth, she would have gasped at the painful sight. Her eyes turned into sad eyes for him cutting himself, for there had to be another way at doing this, there just had to be. Yumi looked left and right to think of something that could prove them both to be real, but what?

Then it hit her, a password she thought to herself as she looked at Avennian’s shoes for her head was down. At the moment Yumi much in an unspeakable state of mind she couldn’t look at him, after what he did to himself. Sighing she lightly shook her head and looked at him, “We could use a password to see if the other knows it. That way if someone does look like us,” Yumi went on, almost in a drifting voice, “we could know who was who by who knew the password.” The half breed often confused herself when she spoke but she hoped that he understood her.

What can our password be, Yumi thought to herself. It would have to be something we both know, and not too obvious to the other team. Like a name or something. Yumi scanned the area and thought about it for a moment. What word can we use? Yumi stilled pondered until her thoughts reached a certain animal...a dove. Her eyes shot open with happiness, with her small smile. “I know the word we can use,” Yumi started to say, “it can be the name of your bird, what was it again?” In a few seconds she remembered then touched her lips to the elf’s ear. In the most silent whisper she spoke, “Heilin” pulling away she smiled then started to climb up the ladder. After a few steps she looked down and remembered, she was afraid of heights.

Stopping she looked down then shot her glance back up, I’m not going to be afraid, she thought to herself as she forced her other foot to go up slowly. She kept climbing until she reached the top and looked down. To her surprise there was a book case just a few feet away from the wall, this would be a good hiding spot until Avennian got here. Turning her back to the church she dropped down inside with a soft thud, then scrambled behind the bookcase. There she would wait, either the be found by her opponents or to be found by her friend.

Dravach - March 31, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)

Dravach realised enough was enough and transformed back into his normal shape. It was slowly dawning on him that the demon was feeling very stressed and was not laid back enough to find anything funny. Fair enough, if he wanted to be grumpy, he could be. Dravach had no way of stopping him. He just hoped he would stop staring at him with that vivid glare and clenched fists...

Dravach straightened himself up, ripped off a particularly annoying strand of fabric which was drooping over his left eye from his frayed hood, a continued to pace along the corridor. He hoped that they would not be judged by how well they worked as a team because if they were, their points were decreasing with every passing second. Even though we may be stronger than the elf and half angel, they seemed to get along very well and were at least friendly towards each other. He just hoped whoever was judging was partially deaf and didn't realise they weren't getting along. Thinking about it, the thought occurred to him that they were being watched by hundreds of people and to be quite honest, it can't have been very exciting for them so far. They needed action, they payed for death! They would be rewarded for their patience in due time, he just needed to find out where the enemies were.

Pausing at the end of the corridor he clapped his hands together and spun around to face the demon. "Ok then, whose ready to kill some..." he trailed off his energetic smile fading. He had seen a shadow slip behind a bookcase, very faintly but just enough to be seen out of the corner of his eye. The demon had turned to face him as Dravach was pacing and he did not know if he had seen the 'thing' hide behind the bookcase or not. He was nearer to it than him though and may have heard a noise. "...failures?" he continued so as not to give the game away.

"...Did you see that?" he mouthed silently to the demon, so as not to alert whoever was hiding. They were in perfect attacking range and he assumed they outnumbered the hider (he had only seen one shadow flick behind the bookcase). Dravach pointed towards the bookcase and then made a quick slicing movement over his throat. He assumed the demon knew basic sign language.

He began creeping slowly towards the bookcase and waited to see what the demon thought of the situation. It was made clear by him that he wanted everything done his way, so as long as Dravach made it out that he was coming up with the ideas, he would be satisfied. Demons were very easy to understand.

Avénnian - April 1, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
Avennian nodded as Yumi mentioned the password. "Not a bad idea," he said, laughing at his lack of thinking of this first. Smart, he thought. However, if one of them turns out to be a mind reader, we'll have a backup. Avennian then watched as she started to climb up the ladder. He adjusted his sword position and braces while thinking of her bravery. He was actually quite surprised that she had decided to take the lead. In no way did he mind; in fact, it made him smile for he felt as though she was growing. But then again, while he had met her before he didn't know that much about her.

When Avennian had finished adjusting his equipment he looked up at the ladder. His eyes grew wide as he realized that Yumi had already jumped over the wall. He slapped his forehead while whispering to himself, "Why did she go in without me?"

You Idiot! Don't leave her alone! Avennian yelled at himself in his mind. He had just thought about the fact that she was in danger of being attacked while she was alone. He grabbed the ladder with the intent of hurrying up its steps. He became frustrated when he realized that he would have to go slowly, for if he made too much noise it could lead their opponents in Yumi's direction; wherever she was.

The elf climbed slowly, and eventually reached the top of the ladder. He peered over the wall, only letting his blue eyes reveal themselves, for they had a tendecy to be noticeable. He was suddenly filled with anxiety as he saw one of their opponents pointing at the bookcase, then making a neck-slicing gesture. Avennian wanted to whisper to Yumi, but he decided to wait and see what the other two were going to do. Avennian realized that he and Yumi did not currently have the advantage. He eyed them carefully; his keen elven eyes watching their every move.

I'll wait for them, Avennian thought. If they come near her, I will attack. He then looked down at the bookcase and thought, whatever you do, Yumi, don't move. Avennian's breathed slowly, quietly, and heavily as he prepared himself. It's about time, the elf thought, for he was sure that this battle was about to head underway.
