Title: Orcs and Memories
Zilfer - June 25, 2008 10:13 PM (GMT)
Zilfer had been on the trail of these orc's for what seemed like months however it was actually just 2 weeks since he had picked up the trail. That was when he had found a village that had been ravenged, and there were no survivors. He had made it his personal vendeta to go and find the ones who had done this. The tracks the perpatraitors left behind were quite obviously of the orc nature, and they where in good number too. When he had first seen the numbers of the prints he had almost thought to turn back however some unknown force seemed to drive him in this dirrection, whether it be his thirst for doing heroic deeds, or some personal mind set that drove him to avenge those who have been wronged.
Zilfer stood upon a high rock amist a great plain, and wiped these thoughts from his mind as he focused his eyes to the distance. He could see the forest of his homeland, and the sight saddened him, knowing that he could still not return there yet, however the Orc's didn't seem to be heading there, and for good reason. The Elves of the forest would probably make short work of those fiends. Still this is coming a bit closer then I wanted to get to that forest.... thought Zilfer as he hopped down picking up a small bag of supplies he had gathered for traveling, and reattached his katana to his side.
"I'd best be moving before they get to far ahead." said Zilfer, as he left the shadowed side of the large rock, and began to set out on foot running with the swiftness of an elf. As he ran, his thoughts wondered yet again......
Seth - June 26, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
After a few months of Seth finally learning how to use all his abilities he was sent by a general in Lomedor to look for some unknown cause for villages being destroyed. It was a chance for him to use everything he had learned. He was going to get payed good money for finding out the cause and stopping it from happening again if he came back alive, and he didn't thin ktwice before taking that opportunity. He set out with only what the general and his people already knew. The cause of the problem was a great proportion, powerful, and in numbers as well as strengh, extremely careless and reckless. And they took down villages one after another, anything they went passed. So all he needed to do was follow the trail of villages that were destroyed and he'd find the source. He did so.
Seth was searching for a few days, finding village after village and finally he arrived at Yomenïampa. He saw that somehow the numbers had grown at that point and the trail kept going. The damage kept getting greater. It seemed that they were planning some kind of strike on Yomenïampa but were too little in numbers. The trail of distruction circled all the small villages around Yomenïampa but none of the distruction on the elf grounds. They are removing all that could help Yomenïampa and gathering more of their own to take it on? Thinking of it like of puzzle he was putting the pieces together coming up with their plan almost identically to it. His deduction was clear and as close to the truth as he would be getting. The souce of all the destruction was getting ready for a call on war against Yomenïampa for reasons Seth did not know and didn't care of. He was simply doing it for the money. But their first action was to destroy anyone that could be of assistance to Yomenïampa and while they took care of that buisness they also gathered more of their own so that they could whipe without that many losses. There had to be a brain behind it all.
Seth flew above and finally came to another Village around Yomenïampa, not yet destroyed. A Dar night, the fire infront of every home was the only light. And some other fire right outside the village. In numbers unmatched by the people of the village. They were orcs. "That's them"
He flew a distance fomr them and then flew slowly down onto the ground. Drew his wings in and put his jacket on. "This is it. Lear, are you ready?" He asked himself knowing that Lear was listening. "Yes" He walked up till he was about ten trees away from the first orc then took of his jacket once more and wrapped it around his leg making it blend in with the pants he was wearing. Seth pulled out his sword and walked behind one of the orcs, "HI THERE! Are you the guys that were killing people for no reason i'm aware of?" He asked in a jolly tone."Idiot"
The Orc turned and so did all the others, only then did he realize there were more than he thought, some of them bleneded in and did not have a torch that allowed them to see better in the darkness. "Ohh crap!"
More orcs started walking out of the shadows and got ready to make quick work of Seth. "Show time" He sprinted forward with his sword, and a n orc twice the size of a normal orc came out of nowhere and simply slapped Seth throwing him right back where he started. "Yeah, i'm screwed" They all gathered around him...
Zilfer - June 26, 2008 06:18 AM (GMT)
OOC really nice post o.O *wonders how many words it is....
Zilfer had continued throughout the day tracking the orc's movements and showed little signs of fatigue before the night wore on. Once in the dark time he did not halt, for this time he wished to gain ground on them, and perhaps even ambush them in the dark where he would have the advantage. His Infravision scanned the forest floor, he was a bit unnerved being back in this forest, and it seemed to have a more eerie feeling then before. An unwelcoming feeling to be sure. Regardless of his anxieties he pressed forward eventually finding his way to their camp.
Finally, it appears as though I have caught up with them.... now I just wish I wasn't alone..... perhaps I should have waited and formed a group before charging a band of Orc's head first..... thought Zilfer now having doubts as he was here. To late to turn back now..... For the next few hours he watched the orc's from a vantage point in the tree's knowing the orcs wouldn't think to watch the tree's and even if they did their torch light could not reach anywhere near the height at which Zilfer had climbed. He sat perched and watching until had counted the total amount of orcs. 24? Curses... I may just have to abandon this mission after all..... Vengeance is one thing but suicide is another.... he muttered into the wind.
It was around this time he spotted something coming this way and watched with great interest as a man with wings descended and almost stupidly walked up to the orcs drawing there attention. Now's my chance. thought Zilfer as he quickly descended the tree' and threw his cloak over himself nearly invisible as he approached the orc group from behind. His approach as nearly silent and far from hear able with the noise of the orcs, and the newcomer. He came to the back of the first orc and with a swift decisive blow he landed a clean head swipe, and charged straight into the horde in a diving tackle meant to throw as many orcs down onto the ground as he could while lessening the distance between himself and the other man. Hopefully he could fight, or their lives would be short ones.
His leap was high as he slammed into the backs of 3 orc's pushing them forward as he ride them to the ground he impaled the one below him with a katana on his way up and quickly jerked it out jumping forward and rolling a 2 blows barely missed his head. The orc's where now aware of his presence in the battle field and he knew there would be no more easy kills such as the previous 2. "Stranger, we are going to have to work together... surrender or die....." Said Zilfer to his situational comrade. "I don't prefer the last two...." Drawing his blade in close he readied himself for what was the come.... perhaps killing a few of them and then giving up wasn't such a bad idea.... because if they escaped there would be less to deal with, and it may have been easier if he had done that in the first place, however the orcs didn't seem to look like they where going to be taking any prisoners at the moment. What I'd give for elven reinforcements about now.... thought Zilfer knowing that he probably would rather die then have the elves know he was back in town.
Seth - June 26, 2008 07:05 AM (GMT)
Accepting the fact that he was now going to die, Seth saw in the distance an Orc go down like it was hit by lightning. Whatever attacked it was too small or dark to see. The night blended anything in. He didn't think much of it but then all the other orcs turned their attention to the one that was fallen, right after a figure becoming less of one with the night showed taking down a second orc. This is my chance! Seth thought to himself. He jumped right to his feet and attacked with all he had an orc right infront of him, jumping on it's back and forcing his sword through the next of the beast. The orc hit the ground like a building crashing down. The man then told Seth what could be their only choices to what they would do next.
"Stranger, we are going to have to work together... surrender or die.....I don't prefer the last two...." Seth attentively listened to the man, but the orcs speaking among themselves would create a shudder that made it hard for Seth to focus trying to listen to them both. Not understanding a word that the orcs were saying he was brought back to the man. "Agreed" Seth said to the man. "Are you ready Lear?" Seth asked Lear and got ready for something he had not done in a while. He was now going to allow the very psychopath that killed hundreds out trusting he would only do the mission and hand over control. I am! Here goes nothing! Seth Thought to himself conforting himself that Lear would not go crazy. "Go"
Then started screamng passing control of the body to Lear. The pain that it put the body through made it hard to resis the pain. Lear started screaming as well. In the few seconds that Seth was passing control to Lear they both went on a trip to hell and back. At first it was only the pain of the body but then they both traveled to a new place in their mind. Lear was in chains and there was fire everywhere. Screams could be heard for miles and it was no more than darkness and fire. The chains broke off of Lear and reached out for Seth pulling him in to the very spot where Lear what and allowing Lear to be free. Then just like that they both left that dark twisted place and Seth was in the subconcious as he was once before and Lear was in full control as he was many times before.
"Agreed" Lear said in approval to what the strange man who was there said. "We fight together to stay alive." I did it! Said Seth watching what Lear did from the dark room in the mind. In those few seconds Black wings that did not break through the jacket came out of Lear almost as if magically missing the jacket, Seth's mid lengh hair grew to a total 14 inches and sprouted red highlights, his eyes a dark red glow. The pure evil demon directed in a noble path was now out and could choose to be his usual self but was seemingly going with the plan. "Lets do this!" He said out laud as the orcs both infron and behind started to move in on Lear and the other man. He smirked and pointed the sword he had on his hand on the big guy that knocked Seth down in one blow. "you first"
Lear sprinted forward just as Seth did previously and then forcing himself of the ground with his feet, flew up and called on lightning. "Chain lightning!" He yelled and random static crossed through the trees hitting orcs but only momenterally stunning them as their numbers were too great to focus the attack. He flew right down and planted the sword right in the head of the orc that he chose as first. The orc simply removed the sword from it's head like it did not damage. "What? How is that possible!" Electricity Resistance? This will be a clean fight I see. He thought to himself noting that his powers would be useless on the Orcs as they seem to have electricity resistance abilities.
Zilfer - June 26, 2008 07:39 AM (GMT)
As Zilfer waited for the man's responce the orcs quickly confered amongst themselves, on probably the best way to kill them. He didn't take any cast of doubt for the moment knowing fear was a mind killer and could befall even the mightiest of sentients. He heard a sound he wanted to hear from the man next to him. "Agreed." came his reply as Zilfer smirked and threw himself into battle once more slashing a blow that was blocked however it was followed up by a spinning back kick to the orcs chest making him recoil long enough to eliminate any chance of a counter attack, and enable Zilfer to have a free shot across the chest of the orc which with elven finesse he took immediately. Something however he did not expect happened. Now as he parried a blow sideways and left his arm tingling from the strength of the orc who had given it to him, he heard a loud and piercing scream erupt from behind him.
Zilfer jumped backwards dodging a second blow and turned around seeing the source of the disturbance was none other then the stranger he had teamed up with. Come on.... we just started fighting, don't tell me he's losing it already! thought Zilfer as he fell back to protect the man. The orcs who seemed to be a little put off by the display did not give any further advances and for that he was relieved if only but for a moment. After what seemed like a long time of screaming the man spoke again, but the voice thought it may have sounded the same, had a different edge to it somehow, as if it wasn't the same person feared Zilfer for a moment. "Agreed." he started "We fight together to stay alive."The orcs looked a bit horrified for a moment as the Zilfer's comrade began to make his transformation and all he could do was sit back and marvel as what was unfolding.
He's a demon..... thought Zilfer as he charged forward after pointing his sword at an orc. Lets hope he doesn't turn on me next. "Alright, show no mercy." responded Zilfer to the man or rather now, demon's earlier response. Rushing forward at the orc who had attacked him previously he managed to score a few nicks and hits upon him and spun around giving him a blow to the neck that finished him, however a blow came from the side that he barely managed to block and the orc back handed him sending him stumbling backwards from the impact of it's huge fist. Another shout range out at this moment. "Chain Lightning!" came the echo as sparks of lightning shot out from everywhere blasting he orcs, however it seemed it stunned them instead of obliterated them. Taking this opportunity before it failed he managed to implant his blade into one more orc before there mobility returned.
Amazing..... marveled zilfer as he risked a side glance at the man's fighting, and realized when he had first seen the man he had thought that he would only be a nuisance in this battle. It appears as though I owe him a bit more respect, since i am a bit inferior to this man. came Zilfer's last thought before it reengaged itself back into the battle, as an orc stepped from behind a tree coming at him with wild swings which he took a blow to the arm leaving a small gash as he brought up his defenses. Come on! this is no time to be day dreaming Zilfer! he said to himself. Things where looking up, he only had a few battle scars for the moment, and the other guy was handling the "big guy."
Seth - June 26, 2008 01:39 PM (GMT)
Lear took the Jacket off and threw it on the ground along with the whire shirt Seth would always keep on. He stood infront of the big orc looking up at it analizing the orc as it approched him. He closed his eyes and drew his wings in making him look like a naverage human although he was clearly not average nor human. With his eyes still closed he lifted the sword so that it would horizontally align with his eyes holding it with both hands keeping one elbow in the hair. All he did was listen. The brease that got stronger bouncing off trees was crashing into the orc making the brease slightly more faint than when it would go through a trees leaves. Lear could hear it light a beautiful melody as is approched him. The surrounding trees being the audience and dancers. "NOW!" Laudly he said while opening his eyes shining the red blow they gave off, seeing a fist coming from the big orc. Lear dashed to the side making the orc miss and hit the ground, but the orc made a smart move and after hitting the ground he dragged his fist sideways to still hit Lear. Lear took this chance and he jumped back then ran forward and swong the sword right as far as he could and then he brought it back to the left but only till it was right infront of him to bring it upwards. The orc with the shock of trhe blow and the force was pushed back and badly wounded, and showing no mercy as he was told to he slashed the orcs neck and his body fell right down his head coming slightly off upon impact.
"This will be fun.." Lear said with a smirk on his face turning around to four other orcs just behind him. "Your turn!" An asuring tone in his voice stated implying that the four orcs he turned to were to come next. The big orc would have not been easy if it wasn't for his obvous stupidity, but whichever orc was leading the pac as the brains was going to be a challenge. Power and brains in one could be the most destructive force known to Arda. Although the orc wouldn't be a threat to Arda, that combination with anough brain and enough power could. Lear kept in mind that one of the many orcs was going to appear stronger than all the others or more skilled and that would be the one he'd want to take for himself. A challenge, something to spark his need to kill, and something that he could kill without having to pay much of a price as Seth afterwards with. The four orcs tried to do a group attack and get him from everyside with a different attack so that they'd be close to impossible to dodge. Lear looked as the grouped and then plit up around him. One through punches with no thought to them, another swong a hammer half the size of Lear, and the other two tried grabbing him. Lear jumped forward onto the one right infront of him which was swinging the hammer and when the hammer his the ground Lear landed on it and then jumped once again forward and over the orc then backkicked him pushing him into the orc that was throwing the fist.
The orc with the fist hit the one with the hammer across the face and knocked him out, although he was going to get up eventually it would make the work at the moment easier. The other two orcs ran after Lear and he took the opportunity to dash back right in between them both. "Static Touch!" His voice serious and ready for battle although with a smirk on his face, the static came to his hands and he touched both the orcs on the arms. They froze in place not ready for the attack to use their Electricity Resistance. "Thank you for.. STOPPING!" He started to speak to them and yelled the last few words as he slashed them both leaving a slanted line about the size oh his arms on both their bodies cutting them each in half. First engaging the one ot the left and then the one to the right swiftly so that he could get them both before the static shock wore out. Taking care of those to reminded him that there was still one more out of the four that was moving around but he could not see him. BEHIND ME! He thought almost outlaud while jumping to the side and a fist from the orc missing him. Lear then turned swinging the sword and scarring the orc on the chest.
Zilfer - June 27, 2008 03:25 AM (GMT)
With the nine orcs already slain, they where becoming more skiddish and sticking to groups, and numbers to gain a slight advantage over thier enemies. During the fighting Zilfer and his comrade had become split up, and the orcs where making sure that they stayed apart, probably thinking it would be easier to take them down one at a time instead of both at once. One orc seemed to be staying back from the fighting and was wearing different cloths Zilfer noticed while striking down the 10th orc, leaving only 14 left to deal with. It was similar to that of what a shaman would wear, and they where usually higher up in rank then most of the buffoons. He must be the leader. thought Zilfer We'll have to deal with him sooner or later....
One thing he had over these orcs was speed and skill. They had the power, but it was useless as long as Zilfer always kept out of reach and on the move. He was able to dodge most blows even when fighting two at once. As he fought two at once, their came a blow from the side which he was forced to block sword to sword, and as the other orc came slashing down with another sword he spun in closer to the first orc he had blocked making their 2 giant swords hit each other and smash down towards the ground. Making use of this Zilfer put his foot on the section where the swords conjoined to form an X and held it down slashing up the first orc and down the second. Twelve more..... at this rate.... thought Zilfer but was interrupted as an orc came charging forward at him with a downward slash. He dodged to the side just barely enough to keep from being cleaved in two, and then used the orc as a stepping stool. The orc's two hands coming together at the blades hilt was his first step, and then the orc's shoulder, and then Zilfer jumped off him into the air straight for the shaman who dodged aside as he saw Zilfer coming.
"You dare to challenge me Mora?" asked the shaman drawing a rather large ax from behind him. "Who you calling a human, freak?" said Zilfer throwing back his hood revealing that he was in fact and elf. "If you thought you could waltz into this forest without us knowing then your sorely mistaken." as he prepared his blade holding it over head. As 3 orcs came up to their shaman ready to attack Zilfer, however the shaman held out one hand and stopped the orcs. "Get the other one..... I'll take this elf...." barked the Shaman as he twirled his hand into an open palm, and a fire ball appeared and he threw it straight at Zilfer, who dived aside as it blasted the tree behind him.
All the orcs pulled off of Zilfer and the Shaman and they all charged at the other man. As Zilfer got up he saw the shaman drinking a liquid out of a vial, and knew right away it had to be a potion of some sort. By the look of it, the potion did not taste very well either. He brought himself back up into an offensive stand bring the blade above his head once again. As he came forward and slashed down at the shaman surprisingly the shaman did not move, and his blade landed right on the shaman's shoulder, however instead of cutting flesh, it only sent a vibration down his arm form the impact. A potion that grants stone skin..... thought Zilfer as the shaman seemingly blurred to the ride grabbing zilfer by the neck and thrust him against a nearby tree. And speed apparently... this is not good.
Zilfer reached for the shaman's hand that was holding him and tried to loosen his grip a bit, and succeeded slightly loosing the grip so it wasn't completely choking him however his sword was now on the ground, and the shaman was rearing the blade of his ax with his free hand ready to slice Zilfer's head clean off. "A little help here!" yelled Zilfer to his comrade hopping he would react in time. "Bye bye elf!" came the Shaman's battle cry.
Seth - June 27, 2008 06:59 AM (GMT)
Lear's area was now completely empty and there were only the on es that were trying to gang up on the other man. Lear only thought to go over and help him take them on, and as he took his time walking over, with a psychotic smile on his face as if he did not care if the man died or not, two more orcs hit the ground dead. Doing the math in seconds he came up with an estimated number of what would be left and what there was in total. 12, 12, 24... The nLear noticed them an remove his hood and and elf be revealed. It looked as if he did it out of anger, paying close attention to the orc infront of of the man, he was dressed differently. "The Boss..." An evil smirk came onto Lear's face. I'll let him deal with... the Elf...
Moving in to attack the other orcs that were gathering up on him he thought the job would be easy. He was now walking backwards bringing them away from being able to hear anything that "The Boss" could say. This would only leave a group of moronic orcs set to fail. His plan quickly came to stop and he hit something that helt like a tree. As soon as he turned around and orc twice the size of the big orc was standing there completely unnoticed. His leg along the size of a small twelve foot tree. "Well then..." Putting the pieces together Lear thought as fast he could. He shuved his sword into the leg of the orc with all his force. The orc that seemed t obe dazed came into the battle and movd his gigantic leg back and the aimd for a kick, Lear took the chance as perfectly as it was. "The bigger, the dumber!" He said in a low tone. The orc threw the kick ans with it's size it was hard enough for Lear to dodge but the orcs right behind him being too big on their own took the blow and flew back onconcious or dead, onto the ground. Three total orcs took the kick of the gigantic orc. Nine to go, a perfect angle and two more hits can make this easy.
When did this monster freak come into play? I did not see him when I was flying, and he is too big to miss... Lear looked back at the orcs who took the kick and saw that the other eight were still there. "This makes 25, including the one that the elf has to face." The eight that were headed towards Lear seem to be very confident all of a sudden and Lear looked back to not leave his guard away from the gigantic one for long. Just like that, there was nothing behind him. "Where did he go!" Shocked at the fact that he just lost sight of something the size of a small building. It vanished into thin air. The other orcs were getting closer, Lear wasn't going to give up and there was less reason now without the big guy in the way. As he started to walk forward into the group of orcs walking in his direction a blow came from his side throwing him right into a tree. Lear looked around and saw nothing. A few trees back, one of the trees lit on fire making most of the area visible. Still no sign of a gigantic monstrous orc. "HE'S INVISIBLE!" Not noticing that some of them had abilities, potions and other resources that were helping them out such as the fire ball attack that lit the tree on fire.
"How the hell am I supposed to fight this." Lear said forcing himself up off the tree he was thrown at. The orcs... The Orcs! A useful idea came into his head. He waited a few seconds and rushed over to the other orcs acting as if he was going to attack then dashed side to side without touching one but not moving away from them at any point. Nothing happened. He grabbed his sword and started slashing, taking one of the orcs down by slicing off a leg and then his face. He stood still and did his first move closing his eyes and listening to the brease. The fire was making it hard to seperate the sounds around but he cought on to a quiet spot. Lear dashed to the side and a fist his the ground that couldn't be seen. "Lightning" He yelled out staring dead at the spot where the invisible fist just hit. Multiple bolts of lightning fell from the sky and hit some on the fist and others on the ground around it. The Orcs hand was burned by the lightning but not enough to hurt the orc but only enough to see a small dark spot. "Now a game of cat and mouse..." An oddly happy yet sedistic tone in his voice forced out those words getting ready to find a small dark spot at right, with only the light of a faint flame in the distance helping him and seven problems trying to stop him.
Lear looked around once more catching a small glimps of the burnt smudge and he jumped away from it into the smaller orcs. "Chain lightning!!!" Lear yelled inbetween the smaller orcs. "Chain LIGHTNING!" He yelled once more sending eight lightning bolts through the orcs hitting only seven and one going to waist. They all froze in place. Waisting no time Lear jumped into the air and flapped his wings flying over the heads of the orcs. They were scattered so he'd have little time to kill as many as he could. He took his sword and decapitated four of them only leaving three. They were mobile again. Lear dropped onto the ground and as he said before with the bigger being dumber he awaited a few seconds and jumped into the air. A swinging smudge flew across which was the fist of the invisible gigantic orc and it hit the other three orcs knocking them out. "One on one you big freak of natures downfall" This all happened in minutes time, no more than ten minutes passed since he noticed the big orc but with the blood rushing and everything moving so fast time itself created a negative effect that made it seem like an eternity.
"A little help here!" A voice coming from behind Lear now facing a gigantic orc that for some reason was no longer invisible. Lear let his guard down for a second to look at the cause of the voice and as soon as he did a foot half the size of his body flung him over trees and right next to the Elf. Lear got up by forcing his legs in the air and pushing himself up with his arms using only the power of his wrists. He dashed back and hit the orc of stone. "What the..." The orc of stone not even flinching dropped the orc as the gigantic orc came up from upfront. Well then. "Two on two, this might be interesting." Bleeding out his left hip, an arms with dirt smudges and bruises, a bleeding lip, a cut across the chest, all marks from that short and painful encounter with the orcs. In undefinable pain he got ready to fight two orcs that could hardly be harmed, when he was only a few hits away from his death. Don't give up... Just a little more...
Zilfer - June 27, 2008 08:19 AM (GMT)
Just after he had called out, his comrade had punched the orc of stone but it appeared to not have taken any effect. Zilfer saw it's ax raised to the fullest extent and about to come down. His vision was starting to fail from the lack of oxygen, and his vision began to see black spots everywhere mixed with multicolored rainbow in others. He breathed and everything was black, and it seemed as if he had passed out. Inside Zilfer's mind a voice range out however as he had fainted. "Giving up already? Come on, zilfer! I thought you where stronger then that!" With that he suddenly opened up his eyes and his leg kicked up in the way of the shaman's arm stopping it's downward slice as he used his other leg to push the shaman away from himself and back towards his big friend.
The Shaman's hand wasn't willing to let go of Zilfer however if eventually slipped off leaving scratch marks on his neck and slightly bloody. Zilfer had no time to focus on the pain around his neck however as he fell to the ground, and rolled to lessen the impact and snatch up his katana sword as he rose to his feet looking at the other two. They where finally back in each other's vicinity. "Two on two, this might be interesting." spoke his comrade as both side's prepared to meet each other in combat once again. Zilfer let out a deep breath, as the Shaman came forward to engage him once again.
Rolling under the swung ax, of the Shaman, Zilfer swung as hard as he could against the leg of the Shaman, sending yet another vibration down his sword and slightly numbing his arm. Damn.... I can't do much damage to him like this..... he thought That potions effect should wear off sooner or later and that's when I'm going to have to strike.... until then I'm going to get thrown around like a rag doll! As he came up from the roll he saw that the blow he had landed on the Shaman's leg was nothing but a scratch. The Shaman laughed at Zilfer's predicament, and mocked him for a moment. "What's the matter elf? Having second thoughts about this?" taunted the Shaman. "Let me show you what this potion can do....."
A blurred movement of the Shaman appeared before Zilfer, almost before he could react, and gave him an upper cut that actually sent him into the air and felt like he had just been hit by a wall. Zilfer had trouble just trying to hold onto his weapon let alone trying to flip onto his feet from the punch. He failed his attempt to flip as his legs gave out from under him as he landed. He sure hopped his comrade was doing a lot better then he was at the moment, but Zilfer dared not take his eyes away from this battle. The Shaman circled him at a distance as he slowly stood up his legs where shaking from that last blow but he managed to reorient himself as his blade flashed in the moonlight and Zilfer's face became fierce and determinate.
"Haha, you cannot match my speed or power elf." said the Shaman simply. "Who do you expect to win when you cannot even touch me?" Before Zilfer could utter a response the Shaman was before him again, this time slightly more prepared he managed to block an ax slash at his shoulder and push it aside with all his strength slashing down at where the Shaman's neck and shoulder connected with each other. His blade stopped abruptly as a loud clank seemed to echo out into the woods. Dark birds flew up into the sky in the distance as the Shaman only grinned before back handing Zilfer in the face. He stumbled backwards towards a tree and put a hand on the tree to stop his momentum, and forced himself to turn around not giving this orc Shaman a sign of his weakness. Then put on the biggest smile he could muster, and with sheer and utter confidence he spoke to the orc as if he where the most blatant idiot in all of Arda.
"Tell me, what do you except to do with a big brute against the forces of Yomeniampa? It seems your foresight is lacking." said Zilfer with as much flare as he could muster, before continuing he spit out a bit of blood from his mouth as if to insult the orc more. "The tyranny of evil men shall never prevail! And with my vengeful hand I will smite thee with the forest, earth, and air as my witnesses!" The Shaman didn't seem to take this too pleasantly, as his face seemed to scrunch up before he lifted his ax from it's idle position and with a blur he came in on Zilfer bashing him straight into the tree he was next to leaving an indent and making Zilfer cough up blood, onto the shaman's stone like hand that had him pinned against the tree. The sheer impact of the blow had cracked some of the tree and as the shaman let Zilfer fall to the ground grabbing his stomach and gasping for breath, and his katana laid upon the floor next to his side.
"Tell me great warrior of the forest....." said the Shaman clearly done playing with Zilfer and ready to end this. "What does the wind say to you now as it fails in your lungs...... what does it whisper into your ear as death approaches?" The shaman's blade lifted into the air, and it was this moment Zilfer knew that he was the closest to death he had ever been before, and in this realization he was not afraid, he simply acted without fear. It's do or die. he thought, grabbing his katana blade and went for the killing blow. As he came up impaling his sword into the Shaman, everything seemed to freeze as the Shaman laughed but as Zilfer's face came away from the Shaman's chest it was covered in blood and he soon realized it was not the elf's blood but his own.
Zilfer yanked his sword ripping up the orcs small heart, and as he kicked the shaman off his blade he gave the last thing the orc would ever hear. "It tells me....." started Zilfer as his eyes seemed on fire with righteous anger. "Those as free as the wind shall never die." The Shaman hit the floor with a slam and finally, Zilfer turned his attention to the other fight, and he had an idea how to defeat the giant orc. "Dive from the air! Let a god of air guide your blade into the beast's skull!" Zilfer himself headed to go distract the Giant orc by throwing a rather large rock at the head, he was already beaten up and wouldn't be able to distract the rather large orc for long, but if his friend with wings dive bombed the orc and drove his sword straight through the orc's skull Zilfer had no doubt things would turn out for a happy ending, and he would be able to finally rest.
Seth - June 27, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
Ready for battle the 'Giant Orc' and the 'Stone Orc/Shaman' were. Side by side the stood motionless staring down the elf and half demon for a brief second. The stone orc broke the portrait of a warrior's stare down with the beast he would fight, and he stepped up to the elf, as soon as the stone orc moved so did the giant orc attampting to strike the instant with a gigantic fist throw straight at Lear. "Foolish BEAST!" Lear spoke insulting the gigantic orc angrily but decently while jumping and flapping his wings to avoid the fist and then diving down to slash at the orcs hand with his sword giving out a laud static sound on impact. The orc seemingly unable to speak just got infuriated and as what would seem like a bad joke at that time more than any other he pulled out an ax identical to that of the stone orc, what made the situation worse wasn't the weapon itself. It's the fact that it was both hidden and the blade alone was the size of Lear. A one hit kill. "Well, this might be it after all." Accepting the he might die there and then. It could be his last day alive, all for the sake of money. On their way to being mercinaries, all it took was two hundred and fifty gold coins to go on a mission no one else would take because it was almost suicide according to the general. The need to prove himself to himself pushed Seth into it and Lear's need to to destroy something got him to agree. Now, they were facing death, all over selfish needs.
The giant orc stood up straight holding the handle of the ax in his right gigantic hand and holding the base right under the sharp ends of the ax on his left. Lear landed once more keeping a distance of only about ten feet away from the giant. They held eye contact as if giving eachother respect for what was to com e next. A six foot teen adult facing a thirty foot orc. It was time. Lear smiled the most sedistic smile he ever had "ENOUGH!, I will win this fight!" As soon as Lear spoke the orc jumped into his previous stance of combat only this time one hand held the ax, and Lear jumped into the air keeping himself up with his night black wings blending into the surrounding making it seem as if he simply floated.
The orc dashed back to create distance and and swung the ax at Lear. Being it so heavy it was easy to dodge, at any other time. But with all the wounds that Lear had, flapping his wings too fast was becoming an impossibility. He bearly managed to get away from the single blow it would take to cut him in half and send him flying right out of the sky. "I WON'T LOSE!" No longer wearing a smile for a crawn he flew forward and using all his speed and power he slashed at the giant infront oh him. Flying right towards it's face and slashing all he could. He aimed for the thoat and successfully managed to stab the orc in the neck but the sword hwas not long enough to kill it, infact it only made a minor cut into the beasts neck. A two foot sword finally being concidered short. It was useless. The monster tried to attack itself on it's neck by placing his hand over his neck as if to choke himself but Lear in the neck of time got away by flying straight up. Face to face with the creature and no thought given to it Lear aimed his sword at the orcs face and stabbed it in one eye and then in the other blinding the gigantic monster. Touching around no longer being able to see and Lear simply amused with the monster's struggle, the gigantic orc touched over a tree the elf was slammed into. The tree was cracked and after dropping his ax the orc ripped off the tree that happen to be his own size. Using both hands to hold it the orc swung like crazy attempting to his something in the air and swinging the way he swung have him enough speed to catch Lear on one.
Lear flew out of the sky slamming into the ground. Branches from the tree scratched him everywhere and Lear now had cuts all over his body. Not giving up yet he took flight one more noting where the gigantic orc was swinging the tree. "Dive from the air! Let a god of air guide your blade into the beast's skull!" Lear listened while having trouble keeping his eyes opened. He did nothing more than dive almost falling out of the sky from weakness and stabbing the orc in the head. The tree no longer swung. The orc stood there with no movement. Lear remove the sword from it's head using some force as he had hardly any strengh left. The giant started to fall back and Lear did nothing but stand on the beasts head and when the beast fell with speed, Lear being smaller therefore lighter fell out of the sky like a leaf compared to the orc and fell unconcious on the orcs stomach.
Quickly waking up with the rest of a few second Lear got up on the beast and walked off of it over to the elf. Then looking at the elf he turned his attention to the dead stone orc and then back to the giant orc. "Foolish beasts believing they can over power and outsmart me." Lear walked a few feet away from the fighting zone to pic up the shirt and jacket that had been dropped on the ground. The whole time he walked he held his ribs and had a slight limp. "You did it!"
Lear walked over to the tree still in flames and sat down infront of it. The fire on the tree being still more orange than the eyes that Lear had. Of course I did! I am no weak pathetic human to give up so easily for something this simple.
You almost ogt us killed yet you still act as if it was nothing for you. Ugh... The fire seem to burn so slowly it would hardly even harm the tree. It would just burn endlessly.
"What is your name elf?" He asked his partner in battle after raising his voice so that he could be heard, not being aware if the elf had moved closer to him or not. "I am Lear! God among the pathetic human race and competition to all other worthy."
He stated with a high sense of pride and a serious face to go along perfectly with it.
Zilfer - June 27, 2008 10:50 AM (GMT)
Zilfer watched in amazement as the scene unfolded before him. The giant swung a tree futilely trying to hit the man with wings, while his eye's bleed crimson tears. "I pity you beast..... your ignorance is your undoing...." muttered Zilfer in a low tone of voice, that would not be carried upon the wind. "I wish you peace in the next life..." As he said this his comrade took off into the sky and then seemingly feel through the sky, not as graceful as he had flown before, but it got the job done as he slammed his sword into the skull of the giant.
There was no moment for a time, and then all at once the giant began to fall down towards the ground, and then his comrade fell on top of the orc seemingly knocked out cold. Zilfer rushed over to see if he was ok, and just as he got to the orc the man woke up and walked over to him. "Foolish beasts believing they can over power and outsmart me." he said as he continued on past Zilfer away from where the chaos had been. "Orc's ignorance will never cease to amaze me." replied Zilfer following the man, how he knew had to be part demon, and was probably still using the demonic side by the way he was talking. He wondered what drove the man to fight these orcs.... was it just to test his ability? or was there another reason....?
As they came to a tree, he began warming himself up with the heat coming from the tree. He was rather cold and tired for the moment, and the sun was going to come up in a few hours he was sure. "What is your name elf?" asked his new comrade. "The name's Zilfer." he said simply replying to the half demon's question, as he rubbed his neck trying to get a feel for the damage the stone shaman had done to his neck, and felt the slight blood running form his neck. He held pressure there until his neck stopped bleeding, and he looked over to the half demon and asked a similar question. "So Lear, is what I can call you.... half demon." said Zilfer only guessing he was half demon becuase of the transformation he had witnessed before hand. As he waited for a reply he watched the tree continue burning. It was a beacon of greatness, amongst the dark woods and seemed to be a totem of their success against great odds.
It would appear that this night had turned out to be a happy ending for the two odd creatures that now stood in front of a burning tree. Never would Zilfer have imagined his fool hearty chase of justice and revenge would end like this. It was a heroic deed he had done here, and perhaps one that should be awared great prestige even among elfs, however it was a hollow victory. No one besides the two who know stood there would ever know of this tale. This moment would burn into Zilfer's heart eternally....
