Title: Escorting
Ploay - March 16, 2006 01:19 AM (GMT)
There was no sun today for dark hovering cloud filled the sky. It was a very muggy afternoon and a tiring mission. Ploay had a feeling that she shouldn’t have gone back to Estolad but she didn’t listen to herself. A human mother with a half-angel daughter wanted her child to be raised in the holy city. With the small half angel stumbling behind the archangel Ploay stopped to allow the girl to catch up as her mind wandered how she become an escort.
It was a muggy morning when Ploay strolled into the village of Estolad to see if everything was back to normal after Maximus demon raid. A few buildings were crumbled but nothing serious, the archangel didn’t remember how she got out of the village. All she could remember was that the last person she saw there was that drow Dizahab. But then she saw this shaggy women who seemed sad while holding a girl with glowing wings. The girl looked like she was around the age of nine or ten but there was something different besides the white puff ball of wings. The girl was smiling and giggling but why? Was her mother not in a depressing mood? Being a curious angel Ploay walked towards them with her hands in her pockets. She was in her angelic form just in case there were any fear in the village guards hearts. “Are you two alright?” Ploay asked in an emotionless tone as she slouched to her side. But before the women could speak the little girl said in a sweet voice almost in a giggle, “Mommy look another one!” Although when the child spoke the mother frowned and jolted the girl closer to her in a shushing manner. “We are alright, just waiting for her escort,” the women said as she was looking around for someone. But then a guard came over to them shout of breath, “Lady Zarnity, we found your escort crawling towards our gate. He seemed like something attacked him and he died in my arms.” The women seemed more sad as she sighed, “Now who is going to take my child to the holy city?” Ploay felt compassion in her heart which was rather common for her, “I’ll take her to the city if you want me to, I know where it is and I can protect her.” The women looked sadly in Ploay’s eyes, “I don’t know-.” Before she could say anymore the child tugged on Zarnity’s sleeve, “it is alright mommy she is an angel too.” One again her voice was sweet and more or less a giggle. There was nothing else the women could do so with a nod she agreed to let Ploay take her child to the city. Already with a backpack and ready to go, the child grabbed Ploay’s hand but the archangel brushed it off. “Just walk beside me and stay with me.” Ploay said in a stern tone as they left the village of Estolad.
“Hurry up!” Ploay yelled out to the child who she still didn’t get the name of as her flash back ended. The child scurried as fast as she could go to Ploay stumbling a little at each step. Finally the half angel got to Ploay and took deep breaths to try to catch her breath. The girl’s hair was bright gold and her eyes were a light brown color that seemed to match her ragged clothes. This was taking too long so Ploay kneeled down in a bow, “climb up and wrap your arms around my neck.” With a second to waste the girl leaped onto Ploay’s back with joy. Stand up right in her angelic form the archangel began to walk towards where she thought to holy city was. The view was much different from the ground, but Ploay spotted a few landmarks that she recognized. “Why don’t we just fly up in the sky?” The little girl asked in a small voice. Taking a slow breath the archangel sighed, “It is too cloudy, besides if your so important we better stay on the ground and not be wide open in the sky. I’m sure whoever or whatever killed your escort will be expecting us to be in the air. And lately I’m not in the mood to kick....um, bad guys behinds....” Ploay tried not to curse to much in front of the child, but Ploay didn’t curse much so it didn’t really matter too much. But then there was a rustle in the bushes and it didn’t seem friendly at all. Ploay stopped and peered into the bushes to see what awaited them.
Malisaro - March 18, 2006 03:22 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Hope you don't mind me posting, you never said wether or not this topic was open or not, sorry if it inconveniences you)
Malisaro was leaning against a tree just next to the road, scrying as usual, he then saw what looked like two angels coming down the road, he opened his eyes and looked behind him there were two angels, one of them was small and riding on the back of the conciderably taller one.
"They won't be any threat to me" thought Malisaro but just to make sure he climbed up the tree so they wouldn't see him but he would see them.
They walked underneath his tree and passed him, then Malisaro heard something else, a rustling. He looked round towards the bushes nearby, something was moving inside.
"I've gotta help them" he muttered but he couldn't do anything without seeing his foe forst.
Ploay - March 18, 2006 06:53 PM (GMT)
The archangel winced as her hand rested on the hilt of her air sword. She was ready to lash out on anyone who wanted to attack her. Ploay just wasn’t in the mood to mess around with idiots so keeping a careful look out she continued to walk with the half angel on her back. “What was it?” The girl asked Ploay as she seemed to gripped tighter on the archangel’s neck. “Not so tight, what is your name again? Don’t worry, it must be birds or something.” The archangel spoke in a calm manner, the last thing she needed was the girl to become filled with fear and start screaming in her ear. The girl seemed to loosen her grip when the angel said it was just birds, “My name is Quy.” Although Ploay felt there was a slight hint of sadness in her voice, because Ploay didn’t even ask what he name was until now. The archangel started to have a weird feeling in her heart, “I’m sorry I didn’t ask what your name was...” Although she tried to sound nice you could still feel the coldness. There wasn’t a chance that Ploay would allow a sweet little girl to get close to her heart. If she let one get close she would ha ve to let them all get close to her. An that was sad, for every time she got close to someone, something terrible happened. And then she heard something so she stopped and looked at the bushes. Extending one hand at the bush Ploay whispered to Quy, “Put your hand on the back of my hand.” The girl had a confused look on her face but put her hand on her hand. Then Ploay shot a small weak gust of wind towards the bushes to see who was following them and sure enough a crouching demon waited on the other side of the bushes. It had black scales and rather small, it jumped out at Ploay but the archangel shot a bolt of lighten at him causing the demon to fall at a weird angle. But it didn’t look like it was done yet, and as the archangel waited for him to attack she felt something else watching them but brushed off the thought as she could hear the demon growl. Ploay was strong and the demon wasn’t much to freight over.
((OOC: it is open and in fact I put it in the bump rp place))
Malisaro - March 18, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
Malisaro watched from the safety of the trees as the demon launched itself at the two angels but was strck down temporarily by an attack form the larger angel.
"I'm not going to let her have all the fun" he said.
The demon was on the brink of another assault when it yelled in pain as two daggers hit it in the back, then it was thrown aside by a bolt of lightning, Malisaro leaped out of his hiding place.
"Didn't even count as practice" he muttered as the demon slowly got up again, bleeding and smouldering from Malisaro's attack.
"Come and get me" said Malisaro drawing his sword.
Ploay - March 19, 2006 04:37 PM (GMT)
Ploay raised a brow when the drow leaped out. The demon seemed to be hurt by two daggers and this was a good time for Ploay to get Quy off of her. So crouching down she whispered, “Climb down and keep back.” So the little half angel climbed down, she was quiet the listener. Maybe it was the fact that they had angelic blood running though them that she would listen to her, or maybe since she was so good it was driven in her mind to listen to others and do what your told. The demon seemed to hiss at the drow then it started to charge at Ploay on all fours. Ploay ran at the demon drawing her sword and collided with it by stabbing it in the arm. The demon rolled backwards into a small flip then turned to the drow. Maybe it thought the drow would be an easier target.
Malisaro - March 19, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
If Malisaro was the deomon's target then it's much stupider than Malisaro thought. It rushed at him and he brought his sword up slashing at the demon's chin, the idea was for it to fall over allowing Malisaro to stab it but instead it staggered backwards clutching the fresh wound, but Maisaro preffered to toy with individual victims anyway. He turned to face the arcangel and the smaller half angel and then turned back to the demon.
"You were stupid to attack an angel anyway" he said and hit it with another volley of lightning throwing it back. Malisaro walked up to the croutching creature and raised his sword, unexpectantly the demon slashed at Malisaro but he jumped backwards, the demon leaped on Malisaro causing him to drop his sword and then bagan slashing at him.
"Get off me" said Malisaro.
When the demon didn't he bagan chanting an incantation 'weaken'. The demon slowed down and fell off Malisaro panting, deep blue blood was visible beneath Malisaro's fresh scratches.
"Stupid creature" said Malisaro kicking it.
(OOC: I'll let you finish it off, I'm the sporting type)
Ploay - March 23, 2006 02:11 AM (GMT)
The demon started to come back at the archangel but before it reached her it sprinted towards Quy. There was no way Ploay would allow the girl to be harmed so she would do whatever it took to bring the demon down. In a quick maneuver Ploay pulled out her vine whip and then struck the demon, allowed the vines to wrap around its body. When the vines would wrap around him to farther and the demon was completely halted, Ploay jerked the whip allowing it to crash back down to earth. The archangel heard a rather loud snap for the vines had snapped its neck. As the vines untangled the girl stepped closer to Ploay. With a sigh the archangel put the vine whip away then glanced at the drow. The drow didn’t need to step in, the archangel could have taken care of things.
Ploay took Quy’s hand and started to walk back on the road, the soon she got Quy to the holy city the better. As they walked, very quietly Ploay said, “Thanks” with a slight turn of the head. The drow wasn’t a threat and whatever he could do to help them, Ploay could do it better so the angel felt his services useless to her. But the Ploay stopped when Quy tugged on her sleeve, “Lets ask him to help up,” the small child said to her. The archangel was about to say no but it was too late for Quy already blurted out to the drow, “Will you come with us?” There wasn’t nothing Ploay could do, but maybe the drow could prove her wrong, that he wasn’t entirely useless. Ploay looked at him with emotionless eyes but kept the small child near her, for she didn’t what the drow to do anything to the child. The old angel as seen a glimpse of a drow’s mind, and they were very disturbing in their acts. But she was curious of what he was to say.
Malisaro - March 23, 2006 07:18 AM (GMT)
Malisaro sheathed his sword.
"I've done all I can" he said and turned to walke away when...
| QUOTE |
| “Will you come with us?” |
Malisaro stopped and turned to clance down at the small child.
"Why do you ask for help?" he said "surely you have all the protection you need"
He nodded towards Ploay "what can I do that she cannot?"
He looked up at Ploay.
"I take it you are escorting this child somewhere" he said "may I ask where, I may be traveling that way myself?"
Ploay - March 23, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
The small child seemed the shrug when the drow asked why she asked for extra help. More escorts wouldn’t hurt, in fact it may help. And Ploay was a little annoyed that the half breed didn’t think that the angel could protect her well enough that she would need the help of a drow. Ploay glanced at the child then looked at the drow, “Going to the holy city.” The archangel remembered that the woman couldn’t take care of the child, for she was growing ill and gods know where the father disappeared to.
Malisaro - March 23, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
"Hhhm" said Malisaro "never been there, supposed to be a city of angels"
He kneeled down to look the child in the face.
"You do not need my help child" he said "but if your guide permits I will accompany you if it suits your needs"
He stood up again looking towards Ploay.
"By the way, I havn't asked your names, what are they?"
Ploay - March 23, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
A small yawn sufficed from Ploay’s lips from uncaring. But Quy looked up at the archangel with sweet innocent eyes. “Sure you can come if you want to,” Ploay said calmly, “And my name is Ploay, this is Quy.” For some reason the archangel didn’t quiet trust the drow so she held Quy close to her. The child was young and innocent, she could hardly tell the differences between good and evil right? Then Ploay started to walk back on the road and without realizing it, she didn’t even ask what his name was. It was a rude habit that Ploay disliked in her character, “what are you called by?” She asked as she kept walking, still holding the hand of the smiling child.
Malisaro - March 23, 2006 09:59 PM (GMT)
"Malisaro" Malisaro answered folowing them "not that my name matters to you"
He gazed around warily in case of any more attackers.
"You don't trust me do you" He said after a while "I can see it in your eyes, I understand why of course"
Ploay - March 24, 2006 02:21 PM (GMT)
Ploay kept walking almost as if the only thing on her mind was to send to half breed safely to the holy city. The same city that Ploay once went to. The archangel wasn’t sure if the drow would be allowed in the city or not. Ploay had her share of drow’s in her life, and each one seemed to be more evil then the last. High white wall slowly became in vision as they got closer. And for a brief moment, the archangel forgot about the drow and felt something snag her foot. It was an uprooted root from an old tree which made her trip. Hoisting herself up with her palms Ploay realized that she had let go of Quy’s hand. Up on her feet, Ploay say Quy still walking as if she didn’t notice a thing different. That is when the dark robed creatures jumped out at the half breed. There was at least three of them, “Quy!” Ploay shouted out, and then the half breed noticed that her escort wasn’t near here, then her smile disappeared when she saw the three creatures advancing towards her.
Malisaro - March 24, 2006 04:12 PM (GMT)
Malisaro watched in horror as the 3 creatures leapt out of nowhere.
"Get down!" He yelled and threw a dagger at one of the creatures.
He then turned to Ploay.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
The robed creatures were snarling like hell as the dagger his one of them square between the eyes. Malisaro drew his shield from his back.
"Okay" he said "If you explain who you are and what you want, I won't kill you as painfully as I intended"
His eyes narrowed.
Ploay - March 24, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
The archangel nodded when the drow asked if she was alright. It would take a lot more then being clumsy to hurt her. Her main concern was to get Quy out of harms way. Ploay teleported in front of Quy and held her as she was crouching down. Two of the robed creatures came closer to the two angels so Ploay blew a gust of wind at one while the other came too close for comfort. Unable to block the creature, Ploay tucked in her head, shielding the girl with the best that she could offer as a shield. Soon she felt a sharp pain in her leg making her bite her lip not to cry out from the intense pain. One of the figures had jabbed his sword into her leg.
Malisaro - March 24, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
Malisaro hacked off the head of the creature with the dagger through its throat just to make sure then felt a gust of wind, one of the creatures was blown past him. He turned to see one jab its sword at Ploay. The creature then found two daggers sticking out of its back. Malisaro then grabbed the creature by the neck and threw it to the ground. He held his sword to its throat.
"Okay" he said "I'll give you one more chance, what are you doing here"
The other creature left then recovered and launched at Malisaro knocking him over causing him to drop his sword and shield.
Ploay - March 24, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
Ploay jumped up into a tree still holding Quy, the motion made the sword make a long cut on her leg. The pain was intense but she still had enough energy to take these idiots out. Sitting the half breed on the thick branch, Ploay unleashed her air sword then jumped down behind the drow. One of the creatures seemed to be pinning the drow down. With a slight swing of her sword Ploay slit the creatures neck and allowed the force from the sword to throw it down on the ground. There were one more creature left. The archangel stood in front of the drow and held her sword outward. These creatures weren’t that strong, What a weakling. Ploay thought to herself, but she wasn’t going to take chances so she was still on her toes.
Malisaro - March 25, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
"Cowardly wretch" said Malisaro throwing the brute into a tree.
He pulled out a dagger and pinned the creature to the trunk by its throat, not actually killing it but causing it considerable discomfort. Malisaro then turned to Ploay.
"There may be more of them" he said "I'll check"
His eyes seemed to mist over as he scryed the road ahead.
"None obvius to my eyes" he said "we should be safe for the moment"
The creature pinned to the tree caughed and spluttered spitting out blood onto the ground.
"Oh shutup" said Malisaro pulling out the dagger and stabbing the creature in the chest "what are these things anyway"
He removed the cloak and looked at the creature's less than appealing form.
Ploay - March 25, 2006 11:29 PM (GMT)
Ploay teleported back in the tree, picked Quy up then jumped down. So far she didn’t see anything. Quy looked up at Ploay with her big eyes and said, “Thank you.” With a faint smile Ploay placed the child down on the ground, “No problem.” The city gates were really close, and if their were any more trouble, the cities guards would handle it well. Taking the half breeds hand, Ploay walked on the road, closer to their destination.
Malisaro - March 26, 2006 04:38 PM (GMT)
"Well doesn't look like I can be of any more use" said Malisaro "goodbye"
He turned and walked back down the road and out of sight, he never usually associated with angelic biengs, or half breeds.
"I have other things to take care of"
